BRCONNECT & BRTOOLS conflicting max size value.

Hi,
I have a conflicting max_size value for tst.data1 between checkDB (DB13) and brtools.  The checkDB log shows that the max size is  5427200 KB while brtools shows  10240000.  (refer to list below) checkDB shows that tst.data1 is already critical but brtools says the opposit. How can I correct this?
A. From checkDB log:
===========================================================
BR0970W Database administration alert - level: WARNING, type: CRITICAL_FILE, object: /oracle/TST/sapdata3/tst_1/tst.data1, value: (max_size) 5427200 KB (> 4914940 KB)
B. From brtools:

  • Problem in Rolling to new a log file only when it exceeds max size (Log4net library)

    Hello,
    I am using log4net library to create log files.
    My requirement is roll to a new log file with name appended with timestamp only when file size exceeds max size (file name ex: log_2014_12_11_12:34:45 etc).
    My config is as follow
     <appender name="LogFileAppender"
                          type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender" >
            <param name="File" value="logging\log.txt" />
            <param name="AppendToFile" value="true" />
            <rollingStyle value="Size" />
            <maxSizeRollBackups value="2" />
            <maximumFileSize value="2MB" />
            <staticLogFileName value="true" />
            <lockingModel type="log4net.Appender.FileAppender+MinimalLock" />
            <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout">
              <param name="ConversionPattern"
                   value="%-5p%d{yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss} – %m%n" />
              <conversionPattern
                   value="%newline%newline%date %newline%logger
                           [%property{NDC}] %newline>> %message%newline" />
            </layout>
          </appender>
    Issue is date time is not appending to file name.
    But if i set "Rolling style" as "Date or composite", file name gets appended with timestamp, but new file gets created before reaching max file size.(Because file gets created  whenever date time changes, which i dont want) .
    Please help me in solving this issue?
    Thanks

    1) There is no way around this. That's a limitation imposed by modplsql.
    2) Justin's recommendation is sound. There are many benefits behind implementing this as a PL/SQL package. My rule of thumb is usually, if I have more than 2x the size of the textarea to edit the process, I immediately consider a PL/SQL package.

  • Max Size for a message thru SAP PI 7.0 SPS13

    Hi,
         I have a problem with a very large message. The scenario is a JDBC -> SAP PI -> ABAP Proxy. I'm getting this error:
    ErrorTransmitting the message to endpoint http://<server>:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    using connection JDBC_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to:
    com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: java.io.IOException: Error writing to server.
         We try to solves it changing the EO_MSG_SIZE_LIMIT parameter in SXMB_ADM but it doesn't help us at all.
         How can we set the max size for a message that going thru SAP PI.
         We have SAP PI 7.0 SPS 13.

    HI Luis
    Whats the message size and whats the value you have given in EO_MSG_SIZE_LIMIT. After saving this parameter did you verified at RWB ->RWB->Component Monitoring->Integration Engine->
    Settings->Tuning
    Add one more EO_INBOUND_TO_OUTBOUND this will allow data not to be placed on Outbound queue and bring to inbound queue. This is having advantage that to process high volume message you will get better performance but disadvantage is when there is no receiver inbound queue is blocked.
    It can be a issue related to connection. Please check with the RFC you have for proxy and IE RFC's
    Thanks

    What is SGA max size limit????
    One of my report runs in 24 seconds...*will this issue b solved increasing the SGA size upto 10,12 gb?*

    Yes,
    You can also go for a 10046 event tracing...
    ACCEPT sid PROMPT 'Enter SID: '
    ACCEPT serial PROMPT 'Enter SERIAL#: '
    ACCEPT action PROMPT 'Enter TRUE or FALSE: '
    EXEC sys.DBMS_SYSTEM.SET_SQL_TRACE_IN_SESSION(&sid,&serial,&action);
    prompt Trace &action for &sid,&serial
    exec DBMS_SYSTEM.SET_EV(10,20,10046,12,”);
    Then you can check your dump file and see whcih events are higher......

  • Sga max size is different

    We use Oracle 11gr2 on win2008R2.
    Our member set sga max size by
    alter system set sga_max_size scope=spfile; max size to 6GB.
    And we restared that OS and DB instance , then
    show parameters sga_max_size was 7.6GB
    Why is that ?

    If MEMORY_TARGET is set to a non-zero value:
    If SGA_TARGET and PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET are set, they will be considered the minimum values for the sizes of SGA and the PGA respectively. MEMORY_TARGET values can range from SGA_TARGET + PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET to MEMORY_MAX_TARGET.
    Now check if your memory_target is set.

    There is no known limitations in file size, except the compression file size that is set to 24MB by default. If you exceed 24MB, the cmp file will be splitted into several files. You can change the default 24MB value up to 1024MB, using the -compressionsize
    parameter.

  • Problem to get max string value

    Hi
    my problem is i don't get correct result when i get max string value from my table. for example, it returns '9' as max value while i have some bigger string values like 73, 80,65, ...
    i found
    some solutions to handle this problem (like converting to char or adding some zero in the begining of my value) but it does not appropriate for my situation because my string value maybe everything (some of my customers can use numbers while some other
    else can use alphabetical+numbers)!.
    can anybody help me ?

    When I see NVARCHAR(50)(50) I am pretty sure the data was declared by an ACCESS programmer who has no idea what he is doing. Do you really have first
    and last names that need fifty UNICODE characters ?  You will get them!  If you invite garbage data, it will come. The USPS uses VARCHAR(20) for names; this has to do with the size of mailing labels and the fact
    that Latin-1 is required by ISO in ALL languages.
    lease read the  "Stairway to Data" series and pay attention to last sections on the design of encoding schemes. What you have is useless and dangerous because it has no data integrity.  Tag
    numbers (learn what that means, please) need a regular expression and I like to have a check digit. My first guess, without an specs is that you need something like this:
    patient _case_nbr CHAR() NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY
     CHECK (patient _case_nbr
      LIKE '[ ABC][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]')
    Fixed length for the forms and display, characters limtied to the Latin-1 Unicode set, and easy to sort.

  • Fileupload max size exception

    Does anyone know how to catch the exception thrown when the file uploaded using the fileupload component is larger than the max size set in the web.xml file? I've tried catching the sizelimitexceeded exception with no success. It looks like it chains from the IOException. Is there a way to do this and keep the same page rather than redirecting to the error page? Thanks!

    Yes, according to the tutorial, you can not catch this exception. I will talk to the component designer to find out if we can make changes to this component for future releases.
    I am guessing that you are already familiary with the following tutorial:
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/file_upload.html
    There are work-arounds that I cant suggest for this:
    1) Write your own filter and modify web.xml to point to your new filter.
    2) This may be the easiest: Change the param-size max value to a negative number. This will make it so that the user can upload any size. However, before storing it, check the size of the file in you "uploadFileButton_action()" method and act accordingly.
    Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • What is the max size of HDD I can use in my dc7600 CMT

    I am using an HP dc7600 CMT which is working fine after upgrading to a Samsung 128GB SSD, Intel Pentium D 3.4 GHz, 4GB RAM, and an AMD Radeon HD 6450. I am running Win 8.1 Pro x64, with the most recent upgrade, and have absolutely no problems. I now want to add a second internal HDD, and wonder what is the max size  I can go to. Can I go to 2TB, or am I limited to a lower figure? 1TB? 500GB? 250GB?
    Will be glad for some help here, especially if it has been actually tried in practice.
    Thanks in advance.

    This question was solved.

    You're very welcome.
    Yes, they are very nice machines.
    What a jump in performance when I swapped out the Pentium 4 620 mine had, for the PD 945, and tossed in 4 GB of memory.
    That box will also run the Radeon HD 6570 with no problem too, which is what I put in mine.
    The downside of that model is that there are no settings for ahci or raid.
    I own or have owned every CMT since the d510 with the exception of the dc7900.
    My main PC is now the 8200 Elite CMT which I installed W8.1 on.
    It has an i7-2600 processor and 32 GB of memory, 1 TB SATA III hard drive.
    I threw in a Radeon HD 6670 in that one.

  • How to find out the max/min value of one field corresponding to a second field in HANA through graphical way.

    Hi,
    I am trying to find out the latest delivery date(EINDT)  for each purchasing document (EBELN) through graphical way.
    The view contains other fields apart from the above mentioned two fields.
    When only the two fields (EBELN, EINDT) are there, then in semantics, I can select 'Max' as aggregation to get the maximum value for each document.
    If I do like this, then I need to join more than 3 views and also so many joins in calculation view. Taking so much time for data preview.
    Hence , please help me in getting the solution while the view contains other fields also.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Jyothirmayi

    Hi Sreehari/Vinoth,
    Thank you for your replies.
    if only two fields are then I can get the max/min values of one field corresponding to other field.
    But more than two fields are there with different values, then let me know how to find out the max/min value of a particular filed corresponding to the 2nd field with other fields also should be in the output.
    I hope you understood my issue.Please revert in case of questions.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Data size bigger than max size for this type - DB Control

    All,
    We are using a Java Control to fetch and store data
    - it fetches data from a webservice through a webservice control
    - it stores data in to database using a database control (stores the data as BLOB)
    Here currently we facing an error - weblogic.jws.control.ControlException: ControlException on control databaseManager[Data size bigger than max size for this type: 4516]
    The data is definitely not overshooting the max capacity of BLOB which is 4 GB. Initially this process was overshooting the transaction time-out limit of 300 sec but currently this is well within the transaction time-out limit and error happens soon after the webservice returns the data.
    a. Are there any known issues with using BLOB's with database controls ?
    b. what are the options - if we face this error ?

    All,
    We are using a Java Control to fetch and store data
    Hi Sudeep. The problem is that WLW is trying to set the datum as a byte array
    and the oracle driver won't take a byte array that big. Please check whether
    WebLogic Workshop has any explicit instructions for BLOB data. Otherwise, do
    contact official BEA support for your WebLogic WorkShop issue.

  • Data size bigger than max size for this type

    First, I'd like to thank you for release 1.2.1, it works like
    a charm! Keep up the good work. Here are my questions:
    1. When parsing a stored procedure, I get the message "Data
    size bigger than max size for this type". Can you tell me what
    causes this?
    2. Is there any list of all the error messages that can be
    given by Migration Workbench?
    Thank You,
    Shane Brubaker

    Shane,
    With respect to your questions :
    1. Could you possibly send [email protected] (that is
    our helpdesk, a direct line into development) a little more
    information about what you were doing. Also, if you could
    send us the stored procedure in question (no data required)
    then we could try to reproduce the error in-house and better
    evaluate what is going on.
    2. The majority of errors ORA-**** are actually generic
    Oracle errors and can be found in the Server documentation.
    As for our specific errors most parser messages can be
    found in the appendix "Parser Reference" from the help system.
    Regards,
    Marie

  • Why can't Max Size of Post Data be increased?

    We need to do a CFFILE upload of 1 – 3 GB videos and are having troubles.
    (I know this is crazy, but FTP, network mapped drives, etc. aren’t going to leave an audit trail like an HTML form will for when people have to upload/update/delete bus incident videos.)
    I can't increase the Max size of post data to even 2048MB without people getting "500" errors who are trying to upload small gifs or pdfs.  If I move it above 2047MB, no one can upload anything.
    Our setup:
    CF Enterprise 8.0.1 with Hot Fix 2
    2 - Win Servers 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 using replication, load balancing, and MS virtual machine.
    CF is clustered so the Java class paths begin with
    C:/JRun4/servers/HSWSD0C1O/cfusion.ear/cfusion.war/WEB-INF/...
    CF Admin settings:
    Max size of post data = 2047MB
    Request throttle threshold = 4MB
    Request Throttle Memory = 3072MB
    Setting of 10 simultaneous requests.
    Restarted CF services after Hotfix 2 install.
    On the Application.cfm page I put
      applicationtimeout="#CreateTimeSpan(0,4,0,0)#"
    Basic code for uploading:
    <!--- upload file and get results --->
       <cffile action="upload"
          filefield="file"
          destination="#fileDirectory#"
          nameconflict="error"
          result="uploadResult">
    This code works for small files IF I don't raise the max size of post data above 2047MB, which means we'll never get those videos up.
    I've been fighting with this for weeks.  Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    First thought is that Web Servers can impose their own upload throttles.  You should check the documentation of your web server as well.
    Secondly
    I know this is crazy, but FTP, network mapped drives, etc. aren’t going
    to leave an audit trail like an HTML form will for when people have to
    upload/update/delete bus incident videos
    What wouldn't FTP leave an audit trail?  FTP communication can leave just as much, if not more, of an audit trail as HTTP communications.
    Network mapped drives, I'm not so sure about, but I imagine there are ways to audit these as well.  But then if you can use network mapped drives, you must be working with a well defined set of users all of which belong to a well defined network domain.
    P.S.  Also make sure that the max post size limits fit inside the overall limits of jvm memory.  Trying to upload a file larger then the memory it can fit in sounds like a likely source of problems.

  • From 1 DB:Data size bigger than max size for this type

    I am getting error while inserting text file as a string in the table (oracle DB)as :java.sql.SQLException: Data size bigger than max size for this type: 11412
    This particular column is Long data type.
    The mystry is there is: In one DB instance the code is working fine without error but in other DB instance its giving the following Error:

    Can anyone please help me out.
    Thanks,
    Joydeep Maiti

    Yes Rajat . Your are right
    I have pasted the code below. I am using "String" to hold the message (strQueueMessage). That should be the problem
    Pls let me know How should I overcome this problem.
    public void dbWriteLog(String strQueueMessage,
                   ExtractionEngineDetails objExtractionEngineDetails,
                   QueryBuilder objQueryBuilder) throws DBException
    objPrepStatement.setString(1,strQueueMessage);
    objPrepStatement.setDate(2,new Date(new java.util.Date().
                             getTime()));
                   objPrepStatement.setString(3, ExtractionUtils.getProperty(
                             ExtractionUtils.EXT_FAIL_TYPE2));
                   objPrepStatement.executeUpdate();
                   objPrepStatement.close();
                   stmt = conn.createStatement();
    Thanks
