Brdige not opening files in Photoshop

I am using Bridge CC and have just started to get the following error message when trying to open files from BridgeCC to Photoshop CC. "Windows cannot find 'C:\program Files\Adobe|Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
It has been working fine up until now.
Below is what I have done just prior to this error occuring:
Uninstalled CS6 this morning (CS5 was uninstalled a long time ago).
Downloaded this morning all the latest updates for Camera Raw and Photoshop.
Inetestingly if I try to open the images in Camera Raw and then to Photoshop that works.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks that worked.
An older version of Photoshop was selected for the file type associations. To change to Photoshop CC this is what I did.
I browsed to find the Photoshop exe file at C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)/Photoshop (look for a file with the Photoshop logo)

  • Cs6 Bridge will not open files in Photoshop cs6, get error message pasted below

Windows cannot find C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Photoshop.exe
I installed Photoshop CS6 Upgrade (64bit and 32Bit) to my PC which ran CS5 Extended.  When I deleted CS5, Bridge
stopped opening files, whether I double clicked on the file or did Open with:  I get the same error message.

By uninstalling CS5 you have corrupted file associations.  THey want to open in CS5 now and it is not on machine.
You can either unistall CS6, do a script cleaner, and reinstall.
Or you can change an entry in the registry.  Here is instructions from a previous post.
I installed Photoshop CS6, then found CS5 was still there. I thought, hey, I don't need CS5 anymore, so I uninstalled CS5. then I found out that Photoshop was no longer available in 'Open with' when right-clicking an image...
    So I went into the Registry, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command, and changed the (Default) from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" (so changed CS5 to CS6) - and now I see 'Adobe Photoshop CS6' in my 'Open with' list when right-clicking an image...

  • My photoshop will not open files or create new files, please help?

Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7 will not work,
When machine is first started the program works, for about 10 mins, then
I can not open files, create new ones. When it does work it can not perform functions like transform etc.
I tried disabling third party plug ins
I tried creating a new account on my machine
    Nothing seems to work.
Can any one shed some light on the problem?
    Cheers!

There is a script running which Noscript lets me forbid, called akamaihd.net. It runs a script which is the same as in html when you highlight a word then attach a url to it.
I don't know why I am seeing it but not others. FF and Chrome seem susceptible to it. It's not malware as usually thought of because no virus/malware program finds it here.
Unfortunately, I have to forbid this script for every site I visit.
In the other thread where your browser displayed an 'i.trkjmp.com' link which isn't really in the web page, I gave you a Google link for info about the problem. You said that it must be something else. Well, for months now, Chrome and Firefox users have been troubled by extensions which cause the 'i.trkjmp.com' problem. You might want to revisit the link I gave you.

  • Photoshop does not open files, nor able to create new documents

    Has happened at least once before;
    * open file in Photoshop seems normal up until actually rendering the window where the document should be visible; no UI shows for the opened window
    * same goes with File -> New; dialog visible, I can select file size and other settings, but when confirming - I do not get a document window opened
No obvious changes to my system lately except a new version of Flash Player installed at last reboot.
Illustrator and InDesign not affected (open and new works as expected)
    Best regards,
    Henrik

  • Photoshop not opening files

Photoshop CS5 will not open files. Occasionally if i try to open a .psd file that has already been created by double clicking on it in its folder, it will open but I will hardly be able to edit it. For example, the brush tool does not work, crop tool, resizing image etc. I had this problem 2 weeks ago. I uninstalled adobe creative suite, ran the adobe cloud cleanup tool and then reinstalled the programs and everything worked again. However after a week everything suddenly went back to the way it was again. Very frustrating! I might as well mention that at the same time as Photoshop "crashed" I also became unable to drag objects in Illustrator and InDesign.
I am not very good on the technical side so I just copied all my performance info below. I am working from a laptop with a mouse plugged into the usb port. Is there any other details you need to know?
Thank you in advance for your help!

With 2 gigs of RAM you are just too out of date for modern software.  Try bumping RAM up to max of 4 gigs.
Ideally you should be running the 64 bit OS with 8 gigs of RAM.

Raw files from the new Nikon D810 will not open with either Photoshop CS5.1 or Lightroom 4.  When will a real Adobe solution be available to work with Raw (NEF) files in their native format, using CS5.1 and LR4?

Clarification: this is a user forum; you are not addressing Adobe here.
The answer to your question as phrased is: never.
CS5 is history and it is not longer supported.  There will not be any updates or bug fixes for CS5.
You need to convert the raw NEF files from your D810 to raw DNGs using the free, standalone Adobe DNG Converter 8.6 RC (beta), the first version ever to support that camera..

  • I just bought the Nikon D750 and my raw files will not open in CC Photoshop. Is anyone else that has this camera experienced this problem?

I just bought the Nikon D750 and my raw files will not open in CC Photoshop. Is anyone else that has this camera experienced this problem?
My Photoshop says it is up to date, but I am hoping that since this camera just came out, Adobe will have an raw file update soon.

DNG Converter is FREE.  Yes, really.  No subscription needed.
    - Baloney, NOT FREE, it's a proprietary software, not open AT ALL, see Legal Notices, so stop trying to distort the truth here.
Camera Raw (& DNG Converter) 8.7RC has been available since 2nd October, and opens D750 files in Photoshop & Bridge (& Lightroom using DNG Converter).
Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw 8.7 Release Candidate | digital camera raw file support - Adobe Labs
    - Still a cumbersome process for this of us that PAID for software and support, the whole point of this discussion is to implement this directly on LR, so we, the PAYING users don't have to waste time doing a useless process that could be EASILY AVOIDED ig Adobe released updates as they are needed, or if they OPENED THE SOURCE CODE so the community could do it.
Adobe created DNG, which is a well-documented backwards-compatible format, which is free for any manufacturer to use.
See here for manufacturers who do (it's an old list, but you get the idea):
    http://www.barrypearson.co.uk/articles/dng/products_cameras.htm
    - Really? Did you actually read the site? It has PRECIOUS information that illustrate my point: Adobe DNG is an attempt to stop the OpenSource community from achieving the goals of OpenRaw, which is TRUE OPENNESS, Again, Adobe is trying to get manufacturers to PAY LICENSING so they use a PROPRIETARY FORMAT that will HOLD CUSTOMERS on a PAID platform. OpenRaw is he answer for a true competitive environment.
Ask yourself why other manufacturers don't use a documented backwards-compatible format.
    - Easy, because they are lazy and want kick-back. The SAME answer that I (and the entire OS community) would give if you asked about Acrobat or MS Office.
If you use a particular piece of software as your main tool, and you buy a camera which isn't yet supported by it, it's your problem. There is an expression used in the industry:
"Poor Planning on your part does not constitute an Emergency on my part."
    - I agree here, it's MY PROBLEM that I decided to have a better product, it was my choice. I can still use OS Tools, which will be what I do moving forward, and about that expression, that is EXACTLY why Adobe will keep loosing customers, because the sense of urgency to help who pays their bills is inexistent. You are correct, why should they rush something so simple to help a customer right? Screw the customer... Thanks for making my point...

When I try to open an image by double clicking on it in Bridge, I get a message telling me to log in to Creative Cloud.  I am running CS6, and the default should be to open files in Photoshop 6 or in Adobe Raw (if it's a Raw file).  I don't want to log into CC since I am not a subscriber, and this means that I have to work around, and go  back to Bridge, and tell it to open the file in Adobe RAW.  However, this does not work for older psd files which for some reason cannot be opened in RAW.  How do I return to the process of simply allowing RAW files to open automatically in Adobe RAW, and simply right clicking on the image in Bridge to bring up the option of opening it in Photoshop?

  • Opening files in Photoshop CS6

Yesterday, before closing down, I uninstalled P/S 7, CS2 and CS3 to gain space, but do not know whether that action is relevant to my problem. Today I find that Jpegs will not open in Photoshop, and in Bridge only by going through Camera Raw. Photoshop will open tiffs, while Bridge will open some, but not all tiffs, through Camera Raw only. This problem follows many months of trouble-free operation of CS6.
My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate. I have downloaded the latest patches for CS6, and have set the Bridge Preferences item on File Associations to Default.
Please, can someone throw light on this mystery?

Thank you, Curt Y, I will certainly investigate your solution
    Best wishes,

Adobe creative suite cs5: unable to drag objects on illustrator or indesign. unable to open files in photoshop, brush doesnt work in photoshop.
In the past I uninstalled adobe creative suite cs5 from my laptop, used the adobe creative cloud cleanup tool, restarted and then reinstalled the programs and everything worked again for about a week. Hi Alisa
I'm having exactly the same problem. Uninstalled CS4 and reinstalled the 30 day trial of the Creative Cloud and it's stil having the same glitches, not opening in photoshop and not being able to drag/move objects in Illustrator or inDesign.
Did you find a solution to this problem?

  • I can't open files in Photoshop

All of sudden I am unable to open files in Photoshop, either by launching from a folder or opening in Photoshop... all I get is the spinning wheel of death. I've trashed my Photoshop preferences, ran cocktail, repaired permissions and restarted several times but nothing works. I've tried openeing several different files with the same (non) results.
    I'm using CS2.
    Please help!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who replied to my query.
I repeated the diagnostic steps again (trashed preferences, ran cocktail, repaired permissions) and it worked this time. The only thing different is that I disconnected my peripherals... not sure if that had anything to do with it.

  • InfoSpoke fails with message "Could not open file on application server"

    BW Experts,
I created an InfoSpoke that is configured to extract to a flat file. The name of the file is specified using a logical filename. During extraction, the infospoke reports the error message "Could not open file on application server" adnd  marks the extraction process as red(failed). I have tried to run the InfoSpoke in background mode and in dialog mode and the same error appears. After i run in dialog mode, i checked SU53 for authorization errors and did not find any. I also tried changing the Logical filename setup in transaction FILE to a more "friendly" directory in which i'm sure i have authorizations (e.g. my UNIX home directory) and im still getting errors.
Can you please share your thoughts on this? Any help will greatly appreciated. I also promise to award points.

    Hi Nagesh,
    Thanks for helping out.
If i configure the InfoSpoke to download to a file using "File Name" option and also check the "Application server" checkbox, the extract works correctly (extraction to the defualt SAP path and filename=infospoke name). If i configure the InfoSpoke to download to the local workstation, the InfoSpoke also works correctly. It's only when i configure it to download to the application server and use the "Logical filename" option, that i encounter a failed extract.
