Break apart a small amount of text, or embed font?

Hi
I have a small amount of text (20 words) that use a hand written type font.
This is for a mobile app, so should I embed the font, or break apart twice to convert it to shapes?
Cheers

If it is not dynamic text, use static textfields and you should not have to worry about embedding... "should" being a significant word.  If you find that it is not displaying properly as static text then I'd go with the conversion to shapes just to put it to bed.

Can I type a large document on my iPad2 or only small amounts of text using Notes?

You can create larger documents e.g. Documents To Go (http://itunes.apple.com/ie/app/documents-to-go-office-suite/id317117961?mt=8) allows you to create/read/update word and excel documents, as well as supporting other document types. There is also a 'premium' version of the app : http://itunes.apple.com/ie/app/documents-to-go-premium-office/id317107309?mt=8 .

Can I make it so readers see the text in laCartoonerie?
Or do I need to make the text into images?
(There's only a small amount of text on each page.)

I can promise it is not supported
The list of iPad/iOS supported fonts are those shown when using the font pull-down menu in the tool bar in iBA.
Select some text on a page/layout, then use the menu above left...there are many to pick from, so you may find something that fits your needs.
    Good luck in any case.

  • How to Break apart a text?

I am a Corel user and I am trying to learn Illustrator as well. I am trying to find a way to Break Apart( this is the term Corel uses) a text without converting them to  outline.
example: I have list of names and I am trying to stretch or skew some of them but because I typed each name underneath each other and used Enter to get to the second line ,Illustrator understands them as one object. How can I break them apart so each word will be by itself?
    I hope this make sense.
    Thanks
    Alex

For eg: This is one text frame
Go to Object>>Flattern Transparency (DO NOT Convert All Text to Outlines).
It will return all text in different frames :
Then Object >> Clipping mask >> Release followed by Select >> Object >> Text Objects and CTRL+X - Cut
So it will leave behind all clipping boxes, Select and delete all boxes.
CTRL+V (paste) all text frames from Clipboard.
    Hope this helps!

  • Breaking Apart Text

When the SWF file is produced, does it embed regular text or
does it need to be broken apart?
So if I have a special font and I produce the swf, will
others without that font be able to see it or do I have to break
    apart that font

    > When the SWF file is produced, does it embed regular

    > So if I have a special font and I produce the swf, will

    font
The SWF includes the font outlines so the text will display
    on every computer
w/o problem, even if it does not have this particular font.
This however apply only to static text. Dynamic text will
    require you to include
the font outline manually, under the text field properties
    setting.

  • How can I get a large amount of text in imovie?..look inside, I'll explain

    Ok....say I have:
'Roy Lichtenstein was born October 27, 1923, in New York City. He describes his childhood as quiet and uneventful. His father was a realtor, and his mother was a housewife. Art was not taught at the school he attended, but when he was 14, he began taking Saturday-morning classes at the Parsons' School of Design.'
I want to insert it into imovie in between clips in black. I have my black clip, length x, but there doesn't seem to be any TITLE functions that accomodate placing a large amount of text that all appears at the same time and doesn't move, etc.
the best solution i've come up with is to use the music video setting which basically gives me what I want except for the fact that all the text is on one half of the screen and the longest you can use this funtion is for 10 seconds! it's a compromise I don't really want to make when it seems like there should be a simple solution that maybe I'm just not seeing which lets me transfer text from appleworks or wherever to fill the screen with text so that it looks 'normal'.

create that chart with any pic processor and import via iPhoto... so, you could even add a "scrolling"
    and:
a pic processor gives you a much higher control about typography...
beware, that a TV is no computer monitor - it isn't made for "reading", has a much smaller res, interlaces video, ..

  • Aspect Ratio 16:9 cropping off small amount of all sides on export...?

I have a project, all data captured @ DV/NTSC 16:9 anamorphic SD. In DVD Studio Pro it looks correct.
In Preferences, I have tried exporting 16:9, and 4:3 and either way, when played on any of my DVD players or screens, the apect ration doesn't show bars @ the top and bottom of the screen (the screen is set to 16:9) and a small amount of the top and bottom, and a bit more of the sides are cut off of the viewing image. I've gone round and round with different tests, and decided I need some help.
    Thanks -
    Joel

    Hi Steve -
Thanks for the info. My TV is 16:9, and I didn't know about overscan. I just switched the 'Action Safe' setting, and sure enough, that is what I am seeing on my TV screen(s). So what now? How do I make everything fit the smaller size w/o cropping off the area? I'm almost there.
    Thanks SO much -
    Joel
What you don't say is what kind of tv you are
    checking this on - is it a 4:3 set, a 16:9 set?
Are you aware of a thing called overscan? TVs all
display their pcitures with a slight overscan - this
means that a small proportion of the picture
disappears into the surround of the tv. Usually when
you display the same DVD on a computer screen this
doesn't occur. This may be where some of your
confusion is arising. This is why you also have
marked areas in DVD-SP called Title Safe and Action
Safe. These show you where you can safely have action
running and it not be cropped by the overscan and
also shows where it is reasonable to place text to
give enough "air" around it that it won't be cropped
or too close to the edge of the screen.
You also need to make sure (as Thomas points out)
that the track that contains your 16:9 anamorphic
movie is set up right - and that is encoding as 16:9
    Letterbox or Anamorphic.
Thenyou also need to be sure that your DVD player is
outputting a 16:9 letterbox signal also... Lots of
    place which are potential trip-ups

  • Best way to handle large amount of text

    hello everyone
My project involves handling large amount of text.(from
    conferences and
    reports)
Most of them r in Ms Word. I can turn them into RTF format.
I dont want to use scrolling. I prefer turning pages(next,
    previous, last,
contents). which means I need to break them into chunks.
Currently the process is awkward and slow.
I know there wud b lots of people working on similar
    projects.
Could anyone tell me an easy way to handle text. Bring them
    into cast and
    break them.
    any ideas would be appreciated
    thanx
    ahmed

Hacking up a document with lingo will probably loose the rtf
    formatting
    information.
Here's a bit of code to find the physical position of a given
    line of on
screen text (counting returns is not accurate with word
    wrapped lines)
This stragety uses charPosToLoc to get actual position for
    the text
member's current width and font size
maxHeight = 780 -- arbitrary display height limit
    T = member("sourceText").text
    repeat with i = 1 to T.line.count
    endChar = T.line[1..i].char.count
    lineEndlocV = charPosToLoc(member "sourceText",
    endChar).locV
if lineEndlocV > maxHeight then -- fount "1 too many"
    line
    -- extract identified lines "sourceText"
-- perhaps repeat parce with remaining part of "sourceText"
    singlePage = T.line[1..i - 1]
    member("sourceText").text = T.line[i..99999] -- put remaining
    text back
    into source text member
If you want to use one of the roundabout ways to display pdf
    in
director. There might be some batch pdf production tools that
    can create
your pages in pretty scalable pdf format.
I think flashpaper documents can be adapted to director.

Depends what kind of thing is that you try to break.
It could be within some instance, it could be a group or it
    could be text.
Some things simply do not appear "solo" and if you want to
    break it, you need to
get it out of a group or another instance first. I case of
    text, flash gives you
chance to break apart, first into individual letters (still
    editable), and than
finally raw shapes (no longer editable).

  • Spilled a small amount of Gin on my keyboard, now certain keys are acting up!

    Hi everyone.
My week is just getting better lol. This evening I spilt a very small, maybe half a shot glass worth of Gin on my 2010 macbook pros keyboard. I switched it off, got the hair dryer on it and left it for a short while. Then turned it back on. All was fine it started up ok, but then whilst typing I noticed that some of the keys such has the H, F, R and Y are putting other letter e.g. If I hit H, F comes up before it. And to increase the brightness brings up the calculator etc. Its now upside down in my room with sum kitchen towel underneath the keyboard.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice as to what I should do. It's switched off and i'm hoping it will right itself. It really was a small amount i'm just terrified i'm going to have to replace the keyboard....
    Thanks in advance folks!

    Well more then likely Yes.
It seems that Mac's do not do well with ANY amount of Liquid spilt on them. From the smallest amount they can go completely DEAD.
Could be yours only needs the keybaord replaced. Lets hope that is all that needs to be replaced. The keyboard has multilayer films that make and break a connection. If there is water/liquid in between those layered films then you can get either a different key then what you pressed of multiple letters or nothing at all.
But then it all depends on how the keyboard is connected to the Logic board. If it is connected like the CPU and GPU are, they are solder to the logic board, then the complete Logic board would need replacing to fix the keyboard problem.
Give it a few more day to dry out and keep it off.

  • Why each time I try to save my day's work, version WITH mark-ups and version w/o, does it say "you have placed a large amount of text on clipboard do you want to access this? What is clipboard and how can I just save my work in its proper file?

I don't get this clipboard thing! I have created two files, one for the MS with mark-ups, and one for the unmarred version, each living in their own spot in my "house." It seems to be merging the two versions and I have to go in and re-paste and then it always says "you have placed a large amount of text on clipboard do you want to be able to access this?" and it prompts me to say no but I am afraid I'll lose my day's work so I just tap cancel. I highlight the day's revision and select "copy" to paste into the unmarked doc. before I save on the marked up or working doc. It is when I try to close that one that the clipboard issue pops up. What can you tell be about saving doc. in two places and how to NOT get it on clipboard? Thanks! I am not super computer savvy so layperson's language much appreciated!

Are you using Microsoft word?  Microsoft thinks the users are idiots. They put up a lot of pointless messages that annoy & worry users.  I have seen this message from Microsoft word.  It's annoying.
    As BDaqua points out...
When you copy information via edit > copy,  command + c, edit > cut, or command +x, you place the information on the clipboard. When you paste information, edit > paste or command + v, you copy information from the clipboard to your data file.
If you edit > cut or command + x and you do not paste the information and you quite Word, you could be loosing information.  Microsoft is very worried about this. When you quite Word, Microsoft checks if there is information on the clipboard & if so, Microsoft puts out this message.
You should be saving your work more than once a day. I'd save every 5 minutes.  command + s does a save.

  • Premier 3.02 crashes when breaking apart transferred slide show

Following the instructions in a reply on the PS Elements forum, when I right click on the scene transferred from PSE to Premier Elements and right click in the menu to break apart the slide show for additional editing, after receiving a "low system memory" warning Premier eventually crashes. The error message is "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe PE to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
    I'm running PE 3.02
    Vista Business
    3.00GB RAM
Video card AT1 Radeon HD 3450
    54.3 GB free disc space
No browser or Outlook is open and have even closed PS Elements before trying to break apart the Premier scene slide.
I have had no problems, warnings, or crashes constructing a 30 minute slide show in PS Elements.

    Gina,
    >Open Premiere then try to begin my project in from Photoshop and get the same issue. The message from Windows says shut down due to serious error.
It is not clear to me WHEN the failure occurs in this scenario. Does Premiere Elements start up OK? Can you open a new project in Premiere Elements? And does it then fail when you have do the Send of the Slideshow from Premiere Elements?
Or like the original poster on this thread, does it fail only when you attempt to Break Apart the slide show?
And also - have you deleted or moved or renamed any of the photo files or video files included within that slide show?
A more general question - have you previously done any projects successfully in Premiere Elements?
