Breakdown maintenance

Hi, team in my client ,they want breakdown analysis. They identified formula breakdown hours/ total avialable hours. What will be the total available hours. How can i achieve this at object type. Class and equipment level. And one more here in my case, we have machines like welding machines, cranes,jacks etc. I have to prepare maintenance plan. How should i prepare it. Thanx in advance.

The Available of machine = Total hour - ( Breakdown hours+Maintenance work Hours ). Calculate the breakdown hours from The notification or Breakdown order actual hour . The same case for other general maintenance work hours on the machine. Your total machine hours per day consider  as 24. If you want to calculate the stoppages like shutdown also you can go for specific notification or measurement points.
This case ABAP report only helps if you want intorduce into equipment via classification check while creating the charecter by class, field value of your abap report. Unless need other developements
For welding machine etc you can easily create the Time based preventive maintenance plan. Go for task list with required frequncy.

    In Spare Parts Material Master, under MRP view, you can maintain the planning details like Safety Stock, Reorder Point, MRP type (Manual Reorder Point Planning), etc.,
    By running MRP on some periodical basis, system will create PR for the required items for which stock goes below the Reorder Point.
    By this, spare parts stock can be maintained properly without affecting Breakdown Maintenance.

    Dear Friend,
    For breakdown maintenance, first create breakdown notification and you must activate check box  breakdown in notification, so that system will calculate MTTR & MTBF for that technical object.And now if you want any external services or any spares and consumables to be used for breakdown create Breakdown maintenance order from breakdown notification.
    But using catalogs you can generate rootcause analysis for respective breakdown.
    For creating breakdown  notification type and breakdown maintenance order you can copy the standard notification type and order type.
    Configuration of Breakdown maintenance order is just like other maintenance orders only. only the orders like refurbishment and calibration orders having different scenarios for processing.

  • Release of break down maintenance order

    Hi,
    In Configuration ,I have put flagg in "release immediately" check box  for Breakdown Maintenance order ,my requirement is to release this breakdown order immediately while creating the order, which is not happening but in case of preventive maintenance order(system generated order), it is happening. Can anybody please tell me what extra settings ,I need to do to get break down order in release mode at the time of saving??thanks in advance.

    Rajib,
    If you read the help-text behind the field it tells you that it will only release orders if they are generated in the background e.g. from a maintenance plan or sales order.
    If you manually create an order, then this flag has no effect.
    If you want auto-release manually created orders, then you will need to utilise user-exit IWO10009 (at save event) setting the RELEASE_ORDER parameter.

  • How to skip the date in breakdown maint order

    Dear PM Guru's,
    please suggest me how to skip the date inbetween the two working days. please check the below scenario: based on factory calendar (production ) saturday was holiday. one breakdown maintenance order was opened on friday afternoon and its closed on sunday afternoon. now user wants only breakdown hours of production running days/ hours. production was produced upto saturday earlymorning and its renewed sunday morning. where as saturday producion was not planned and its not produced , so user wants to skip that time from the breakdown duration calculation. please suggest me is it right practice? if its right how we have to do in SAP? please let me know it.

           In ECC 6.00 i think  they had given in configuration under notification types , define field selection for Notification , not at my system, in lower versions  If you want the breakdown tick mark irrespective notification type then use SHD0 Transaction variant , else if you want specific to notification type then use user exit QQMA0025 PM/SM: Default values when adding a notification

  • Regarding Subcontracting of Maintenance Spare..............

    The scenario of my question is like this.......
    In my plant there is a machine which is also an asset.......when this asset was purchased by the company......there was no BOM attached to this. After some time, this machine came under breakdown & maintenance person removed one of its part say SHAFT. To reuse this shaft, it needs to be repaired by external agency. There is no other shaft available in the stores to use in this breakdown. Now as this shaft is not maintained in the store (neither as an asset nor as a material), then what will be the procedure to send this shaft to subcontractor.........Material Master for shaft can be created but what abt inventory stock.......

    Create the material as only value updating
    Create one more material as QTY.updating
    Create subcon PO for non valuated material
    Create stock for qty updating material
    assign qty updating material as component
    recv the value updating material
    and post the repairs
    and posting thru FB90
    This is just a consideration i haven't tried this scenario please try

    what are the business process in plant maintenance.
    what are oraganisational level inside sap-pm.

    From a broad stroke, the business processes in plant maintenance are as follows:
    Maintenance Processing - This includes corrective and breakdown maintenance
    Preventive Maintenance -  This is where you set up the system to generate a maintenance order, notification or service entry sheet at a set schedule so that regular routine maintenance may be performed.
    The organizations levels in plant maintenance are as follows:
    <b>Maintenance Planning Plants</b>: This is where the maintenance work is planned my the maintenance planners for the work centers in the maintenance plants.
    <b>Maintenance Plants</b>: Where maintenance work is performed in/out of... These are tied in IMG Configuration to the Maintenance Plants. A maintenance plant can have only one planning plant assigned to it but a planning plant can be assigned to more than one Maintenance Plant.
    <b>Maintenance Planner group</b>:  Also assigned to the planning plants in configuration. These are the people who plan the work... also called maintenance managers, supervisors, foremen, etc. in the various industries.
    <b>Maintenance Work Center</b>: These are the people that actually perform the maintenance work. This is master data and they are created in relationship to a maintenance plant.

  • Deactivating/Dismantling Equipments - effects on Preventive Maintenance

    Dismantling a piece of equipment means uninstalling it from its current installation location. It may be done in order to:
    1. Install it at a different location.
    2. Indicate that the equipment is not in operational use and is going to be stored at some storage location for a while. Some other equipment will be installed in its place.
    In case 2, the equipment is not subject to breakdown maintenance. However, preventive maintenance may still be carried out. The scheduled preventive maintenance plans will keep generating call objects for this equipment.
    But, preventive maintenance may not be needed to be carried out for certian kinds of equipments while they are not in operational use. To stop generation of call objects agaisnt such equipments, we Deactivate the equipment master record alongwith Dismantling it. Call objects are not generated for equipments that are deactivated and hence no preventive maintenance will be carried out until they are Re-installed and Activated.
    I need to know if we are handling things in accordance with standard practices by following the measures described above. Secondly, I am concerned about the validity of the assumption that whether preventive maintenance is needed for a certian uninstalled equipment depends on the kind of equipment it is (electrical, mechanical or whatever).
    Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

    Another way doing that would be scheduling your PMs on basis of the functional location. So then, no matter what equipment is installed, you get a call for the maintenance of the current equipment.
    But this is based on the assumption that there is always an equipment installed.

    I firmly agreed ur points. In my client we are opened the sub stores at imp locations. Even all the time materials issues, goods receipts thro 311 movemnets after receipt form central stores also happening.
    This is working well.
    But generally in breakdown time the material is not reqd instantly. Definitely it needs some time like deelectrification, dismantling. So that in mean time any one member of mtc team take the material.
    Incase stores closed time it may leads probs but this also like same as earlier(bf4 sap implementation).The mgt has to decide to reduce the down time.
    Now days some firms utilising mobile asset mgt to do all kind of sap entry with out accessing the sap log in. This needs integration but iam not much aware

    1.Corrective maintenace is carried out as a part to improve the working condition of the .
    2.Breakdown maintenace  is carried out when your equipments has a breakdown nd notworking and production is effected.
    Corrective maintenance - you "CORRECT" a failure/damage/malfunction due to wear & tear, operating conditions, design, etc. In SAP PM, you raise a notification (work request) to record the problem, the notification is then assessed/reviewed/approved and a corrective work order is then created (linked to the notification) to repair the problem.
