I concur! But I will comment more based on the terms of the store credit and validity.
I agree..I'm not going to get ahead of myself and plan out what I want to buy before anything is really gone into detail. But I do say if it's just for the Apple online store (not iTunes store) then that Apple protection plan for the iPhone that I haven't got yet looks pretty nice. But if it's for iTunes as well then I'm getting $100 worth of 24 season 6, ringtones, and songs.

Why is it, after I downloaded the new version of steve jobs, I lost all my highlighted placements in the book and whenever I tried to highlight something, it lags tremendously. Is there a reason for this?

And all placement in which I highlighted in previous version of the book, it directs me to a completely different page and sentence in which I highlighted previously. And the frustrating is, I can't delete the false highlight.

  • A major black eye for Apple and Steve Jobs - an update on activation issues

I am at 30 hours and still waiting for activation!
I have spent over 7 hours on the phone between yesterday and today trying to get my phone activated. I have been talking to AT&T and Apple and I have wasted my day on hold. No one seems to know what the issue is and everyone keeps telling my they are sorry. I am a current AT&T customer and they deactivated my old phone immediately.
I was on the phone with Apple earlier today for over an hour and the rep had to work with AT&T and still could not correct my activation. She "promised" to call back before 7pm PDT to see if my issue was resolved and I should have known better since of course no call was received. I really was not expecting the call but it should never have been offered.
Throughout my numerous calls I was informed that this was becoming a major issue for AT&T and Apple as the day was progressing and that they had numerous people working on the problem.
Where has Apple and AT&t been in all this? Steve Jobs has been promoting the heck out of his product and now he is no where to be found. No statements addressing the issues on either of their web sites. During my last conversation with AT&T, the rep informed me that at 10:36 CDT she received an update from Apple saying that they are trying to resolve the issues and that it may take 24-48 more hours to resolve. The AT&T rep also informed me that they it AT&T was informed by Apple that the issues with activation are coming from the Apple side.
I know that this is a new product and glitches will happen. But Apple created the hype and they should have been prepared.
In the meantime, I will be charged an activation fee even though I cannot activate and I have wasted my weekend with Apple.
I have a feeling this will become a bigger story on Monday when more stories get out to the press and Mr. Jobs returns from celebrating his "succesful" launch. This is a very frustrating experience and this will probably be my last Apple purchase (I own numerous Apple items).
    Good luck to everyone else.
    I h

Sorry to hear about all your issues. I am about in the same boat. But, I think mines kinda worse..
Got my phone last night, got the typical Your activation requires additional time. Spoke with an AT&T rep about 4pm this afternoon. He said he would push the activation and give it up to 2 hours more.. Great! 5 hours later and nothing. So I call the 877 number, option 3 to check activation status.... Your phone is activated and you should be able to use all features.. WHAT?! I look at my phone.. I still have a globe telling me to activate iphone, connect to iTunes.. Im 45 mins on hold waiting for a rep again and im more mad then it would have been if it said it was still processing! I understand glitches, and I expected a few issues, but nothing like this..
And as i am typing i just got a customer service agent...
They've done everything they can and i need to wait, since it hasn't been 24 hours yet.. ok, now *** is that?! Im just laughing at how absurd that call was. The customer service rep didn't even understand that i was still at the activate screen, she was asking if i had a dial tone? and if i could get into mail or ipod at the bottom.. oh my.. I really hope I dont have to call AT&T support again for my life with this phone, cause its not starting out good..
Best to all.. lets hope this gets resolved soon!!

  • Apple or Steve Jobs Future of Computers / Computing Video

I saw a video some years ago (I think that the video was from sometime between 1985 to 1993) that was a presentation of Apple's or Steve Jobs' concept of computing in the home, etc. of the future. It was very intriguing and I am curious if anyone knows where I can view this again.

There have also been conceptual videos done such as the Knowledge Navigator concept. But there have been many videos and interviews over the years - Apple's been very popular and active in the media - so without more specifics about the video you saw, it's going to be just about impossible to point you to the correct video, assuming that it's available anywhere on the web.
    Regards.

  • $100 Credit from original iPhone

I was one of those who bought the original iPhone right when it was released and received the $100 credit when they dropped the price a few months later. I applied for the credit within the time frame given, but now that I want to redeem it I cannot find anyplace to access the credit. I remember printing something out, but that was like 18 months ago... surely that piece of paper can't be the only way to redeem the credit, can it?

    Copied from this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
+iTunes will also create a backup of settings and certain other information on your iPhone or iPod touch when you sync to use in case you want to restore the software on your iPhone or iPod touch or transfer this information to a different device. *Backup information includes information such as mail settings, text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, widget settings, certain network settings, and other preferences.* Applications purchased from the App Store are included in the backup, however they can only be successfully restored to the same device that they were backed up from.+
Contact information and calendar events are not included. I would think contact information would be included with this link since this is important and if included, this is not something you should depend on.

  • HT4157 All my texts on my iphone stopped working when I synced my new mini ipad with the same ID as my iphone. ATT said was that was the reasons my texts failed. How do I give my mini ipad a new apple ID and still be able to sync the iphone and iPad?

My texts all failed when I synced my iphone 4S to my new mini ipad with cellular. ATT said I needed to create a separate ID for the mini ipad in order for texting to work. Will separate apple IDs still enable me to sync my iphone to my mini ipad?

Go to Settings>Mail, etc.>iCloud and delete the account. Then add in a new account with the details you want.

  • Steve Jobs on 3G

I came acrossed this video on YouTube, but I think it basically gives a definite answer why Steve Jobs left out 3G on the iPhone for now.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gyq0lTubjk

Precisely, they did what they thought would be best and went with it. If only we had some videos about some of the other issues of "complaints" people have. My only complaint I have for the phone is the whole MMS issue. It's not really a deal breaker for me though, since this is my first phone that I'm paying for. My old phone was a free phone that came with my Sprint plan, I disabled texting and had no data plan.
So it's not something I can entirely miss.

  • How can I transfer my old account balance to my new Apple ID?

The new Apple ID was necessary because Itunes checks email addresses, and the address no longer exists, so it would not let me sign in. Now that I have a new Apple ID, it wont recognize my credit balance. Lest anyone tell me to email Apple, I cant: Apple wont recognize my email program, so I cannot contact anyone without their real, actual email address.
I cannot use my debit card, because all holders of Mastercard debit cards issued by Shazam are barred from ordering from itunes (and Gardener's Supply). Many problems started as I refused to accept "terms of use" here and there due to what I consider to be reprehensible terms-hence the locked email and therefore Apple verification problems.

You can't. Even if you could contact Apple, they won't do it unless you want to clear the balance instead of moving it between accounts; this is generally only useful when the balance is stopping you from changing countries.

  • Apple only accept debit or credit card for iphone purchase

Apple Inc. no longer accepts cash for iPhone purchases and now limits sales of the cell phone to two per person in a move to stop people from reselling them.
The new policy started Thursday, said Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris. Before then, there was no cash restriction and the purchase limit was five per person.
How can I buy an iphone i do not have a debit or credit card is that even legal not to accpet cash as i recall you must accept cash for any payments under $ 9,999.99
im wondering is that legal since everybody doesnt have debit or credit cards and that would be discriminating customers

Apple can invoke any policy they want for accepting tender for the purchase of the iPhone or any other product.
It would be interesting if you or I went up to the counter and wanted to buy a Mac and they did accept cash in lieu of a debit or credit card. I believe that would be a "double standard".
Having said that, the real issue I believe and what I read in the information released by Apple in their quarterly report last week is the unlocking of iPhones.
It appears that there has been the development of a "cottage industry" in the business of unlocking the iPhone to the point where the President of Apple (not Steve Jobs) stated that they, Apple, believe that there are at least 250,000 iPhones that have not been activated through AT&T to date, i.e., through September 30, 2007.
How the taking restricting of cash transactions for the iPhone will reduce the unlocking issue is beyond my comprehension. I could buy a number of iPhones two at a time with my debit card and/or my debit card by just showing up at a store a number of times. Just in my area alone, northern Virginia, there are 4 Apple Stores within 1.5 hours of my home.
I have 5 credit cards and 2 debit cards. I could buy 14 iPhones without ever violating the new Apple policy. I guess I could also write a check off of my 3 checking accounts - that would permit me to buy 6 additional iPhones.
Is Apple going to hold credit card or debit receipts to compare how many times an individual purchased an iPhone.
If so, isn't that a potential security problem with regard to having that data around for other than electronic transfer purposes?
There has to be some misunderstanding of the policy if in fact there is such a policy.

  • $100 credit not processing?  Tip from iPhone support

    Hi,
My wife and I have two iPhones. The $100 credit for my iPhone went through with no problem. But whenever I tried to claim the credit for my wifes phone I got an error message saying "we can't locate a record of your iPhone". I emailed the [email protected] and after a day, got a response telling me they had updated their software and to try again. Still didn't work, so emailed them back. They responded pretty quickly (on a Sunday no less!) telling me to _*try registering my iPhone at http://register.apple.com/, wait for the email confirmation from apple, then try the credit again.*_
Note: This is NOT the same as activating your phone through iTunes. This is the optional product registration site that Apple maintains that lets you register your Apple products. I haven't verified if this works yet, but thought I would pass along the tip.
When we originally ported my wife's phone over, we had some troubles. AT&T got it sorted out after a day or so, but I think what happened was her serial number and phone number weren't correctly associated in the Apple database. Hopefully this will fix it! I'll post an update if it works.
    Jim

Update: registering the iPhone at register.apple.com did NOT help my problem. Note that if your iPhone credit goes through the first time, you should NOT need to register the iPhone again since the normal activation process should do it.
I suspect that the problem with my second iPhone and the credit is because we had problems with porting my wifes phone number from our old provider. For the first few days she had a different phone number. This required several calls to AT&T support to fix... and I think Apple probably has her serial number assigned to her ORIGINAL phone number instead of her current phone number. Hopefully will get that sorted out soon.

  • Have a new iPad with ios6.  Will not send emails. Addresses are valid  but get notice each time that recipient was rejected by the server.  No help on web site, and Apple's only manual is for previous os version.  We miss Steve Jobs.

Have a new IPad with IOS6.  Will not send emails.  Addresses are valid but get notice each time that "recipient was rejected by the server."  Apple has apparently neglected to put out a manual with IOS6 and the previous manual has no indication of what to do.  Really miss Steve Jobs.

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

  • Color Picture of Steve Jobs that I would like to send to Apple for use in his honor. I prefer Color

I would like to send Apple a Color Picture of Steve Jobs that I found on Google. it's the same picture Steve Jobs Biography that
Walter Isaacson wrote. except it's in color. What I did was use my Drawing Pad Program to bring in the picture and then I brought in a splash I croped with Steve Jobs 1955-2011 and saved it. I want you all at Apple to have a copy to use for his memormial eash year. And Thank you Tim Cook and everyone at Apple for honoring Steve's values in keeping Apple products the great products that they are and will remain. Siri is such a riot. I have so much with her. I was able to use Best Buy's Trade-in Program and I traded my iPad 2 in for the new iPad 3rd Generation. I am one that needs Siri to help me spell some words when I get brain lock. lol. .  She is also fun to play with. I asked her to tell me a joke, she came back with, " Two iPhones walk in a bar, I forget the rest. LOL. you all have an ad with this joke. I haven't asked her any questions on sports yet. I like figure skating in the winter olympics beacause it's so graceful.
    Very Sincerely,
    Janet Woodville
