Breaks between songs on live albums

Is there any way to get rid of the breaks between songs on live albums that I have on my ipod?

All iTunes offers in this regard is the ability to 'Join CD Tracks' before importing. It just turns the entire CD into one big track.

N91 Problem - Breaks between songs

Can anyone tell me why the music player in my N91 creates breaks between songs. It is a major gripe for me because i listen to a lot of DJ mixes. as the music is playing and the second song is being mixed into the first one the music suddenly pauses for a second or two then immediately starts with the next song. Is there a cure for this? or do we have to wait till Nokia actually does something about this with a firmware update? i'm sitting with a lot of cd's i can't listen to because of this problem

But its not possible yet now.
BECAUSE,
the WMP 11 of my PC plays songs without any break.
Do y know why?
Because the CDs are remastered with that option.
But notice:when the WMP or whatever that ripps off the tracks of the CDs they [I am sorry] ripp each song and thus require break in the songs.
And the N91 plays the songs or the RIPPED-OFF songs in it that means with break-up ripped offs.
Like LPs HYBRID THEORY:consider this album's each song is technically mixed with each other and when we play in the CD systems or in PCs they are also played gapless.
But once they are ripped off at the same time they are broken into pieces.
But if y know any software that ripp off CD tracks without breaking the lines let me know.

No break between songs

I have a copy of Haydn's String Quartet Opus 64, #4-6 (Kodaly Quartet). Every other download I have (blues, jazz, rock, classic) allows a break of 4-5 seconds between songs or cuts. This is the only download that lacks any such break; one song flows immediately into the next, often with jarring results. Is this a problem with the original, or is it a problem with the download? If the latter, can I download the file again for free to see if the problem recurs?

I think it may be a problem with the download.
I have access to this recording on Spotify. The gap between the movements and between the warks are minimal.
I listened to different recording by Kodaly and found the gaps to be longer. If you bought it from Itunes, I don't think that it will make any difference redownloading.
An unsatisfactory solution would be to use Audacity or other editing tool to add the extra seconds. I often use Garage band to combine classical movements into one track and can include extra time gaps.

How do I remove the fade out/fade in between songs on an album?

I'm trying to listen to an album that consists of only one 45-minute song, but for some reason it is divided into 11 parts on iTunes. During play, each part fades out at the last two seconds and back in in on the next part. The song was meant to be played all at once but this feature practically destroys this possibility. It absolutely ruins the song and it's painful to listen to this way. Is there an option to remove this effect?
I understand there's a way to combine songs from a CD into one song but can I do that straight from my library?

You cannot combine songs after they have been imported. That has to be done while the CD is showing in the import CD window.
Assuming that you have imported this from a CD (and that you still have the CD - {as you are legally obliged to do}), you need to import the CD again. This time, when it shows in the import window, select the tracks you want to join and then select Options on the right of the screen: The Join CD Tracks is on the menu that appears:

I have only selected songs four through eight, but you can select all of them.
Join CD tracks only appears on that menu when you have selected two or more adjacent songs. (You cannot select non-adjacent tracks.) See the next screenshot.
By the way, if you do not have the Sidebar showing in your iTunes as I do (CTRL+S), then click on the drop-down menu to find the Audio CD (import) window.

ITunes stops playing in between songs in an album or playlist

Since 'upgrading' to iTunes 7, when I'm playing an album or playlist the music will randomly stop completely after a few tracks.
It stops just at the end of a track and the status bar at the top has the diamond on the right hand side of the bar, indicating 0 seconds left to play.
Once this has happened when I double click on another song to play it, the play button will turn to pause, but nothing will happen. The diamond stays on 0 seconds and no music plays. Nor does it work if I drag the diamond to a later spot in the song.
So far I've been resolving this by reopening iTunes, which seems to be a temporary fix. Is there a way to completely remedy this problem?

i just downloaded and installed iTunes 7.0.1 (maybe another .0 in there?)and it happened again.
it seems that if youi don't touch anything and just tell it to pause then play it will start up again, but this is still really annoying if i'm doing something else. Can anyone help me?

How do I import a CD into iTunes without a break between tracks?

I am looking to import cd's that do not have breaks between songs. Most electronica cd's are like this, but a live concert would be the same. When I pop a cd in my computer and import it into iTunes it turns it into individual tracks, with an abrupt break between songs instead of the continuous flow that the cd has. Does anyone know if there is a solution to this? App?

iTunes should be able to manage gapless playback of this kind of album. Mileage may vary, but it may help to clear (if set) and then set the Part of Gapless Album flag from the Options tab of Get Info. when the whole album is selected.
If you really want to rip the CD as a single track, select the tracks and then use Advanced > Join CD Tracks before importing the CD.

Volume inconsistency between songs

I get a large variation in volume from song to song in iTunes, and it carries over when I burn a cd or export songs to my iPod. I've tried both the Soundcheck feature in iTunes and the iVolume freeware, but I still have this problem. Any solutions? BTW, I'm running OS 10.2.8 with iTunes 5 (this happened in earlier iterations as well).

Does the variation occur between songs on the same album, or do you notice it between songs from different albums? Audio cds are not all recorded at the same level, so some will sound louder than others. If you have the original audio cds for any two albums that have different loudness, try playing them in a regular cd player. If you notice volume differences between the original audio cds, then I would say iTunes is behaving normally.

Trying to have a break between each song while playing music in iTunes

I have the same problem. I have the crossfade set to four seconds and have made sure that the "part of a gapless album" is not checked. Any ideas on how to fix this? thanks.

How do I set up iTunes to keep all the songs in an album together and not rearrange and separate them according to singer / live recording etc.?

When I install an album from a CD, iTunes arranges the songs as multiple albums according to who is listed as the singer and if the songs are marked as being live recordings. If I load an album, I would like all the songs on that album to be listed together under the album's name and not as 3 separate albums!

Selecting Gapless album does not make it gapless. (which is likely that now this option is removed - to not confuse people)
The ONLY thing that option did was tell iTunes to NOT crossfade consecutive songs from same gapless album IF you had crossfade enabled.

Setting the gap to 0 is what made it "seem" gapless.
Perhaps it is not working as it used to.
Try a slower burn speed.
and used itunes to convert them to mp3
Dont know why they suggest this.
Simply use the WAV file. Then there will be no loss (as there is when converted to MP3).

Is there a keyboard shortcut for switching between Song/Album/Artist/Composer etc. view in the top right corner of iTunes? If there's not, then consider this a feature request!

Not exactly, but down-arrow will swap the images, and 'z' will always zoom the "select" one, if the "Link Focus" padlock is unlocked. Is that close enough for your needs?

I was wondering if anbody knows how to take the breaks out, I have all these Techno CD's downloaded on my iPod, it recently crashed and Apple fixed it for me so I uploaded a bunch on my cd's back on but there are breaks in between all the songs. Does anybody know how to fix this. I would really appreciate it.

You are posting in the forum for older iPods, so can we assume that's what you have? If so, these iPods are not capable of gapless playback.
There is however a workaround of sorts.
The way to eliminate the gap between songs is to import the cd as one track. You do this by using the “join cd tracks” option in the advanced menu of iTunes.
Make sure the tracks are in their correct order, and highlight those you wish to join.
No gaps, but the downside is that you will of course lose the ability to navigate between tracks, and the song info is also lost. The iPod will display the cd title in the song field in the “now playing” screen . You’ll also have one large file instead of a number of smaller ones.
Be aware also that playback of single large audio files can shorten battery playtime between charges.
However, if you do indeed have a newer iPod (a 5th gen or a second gen nano), they are capable of gapless playback as this doc explains.
