It could really go in both, but I figured it was a little
more flash related...at any rate I figured out the problem...I
needed to listen to the roleChanged event. That event not only
checks if the role is changed, but also the initial role that is
set when the meeting room opens. Works like a charm now!

RealTek Breeze Meeting Issues

Has anyone observed problems in a Breeze 5 meeting when a
participant/presenter logs into the meeting with Windows Vista and
RealTek audio? I have observed choppiness in the audio despite
every effort to optimize the audio through the audio wizard in
Breeze, adjusting the connectivity, and other measures. I've run
the gamut.
The technotes I have read from Adobe point to compatibility
problems between RealTek and Breeze Presenter, resolved through
downloading Presenter 6. So, this increases my suspicion that a
similar compatibility problem may exist with Breeze Meetings.
I welcome opinions, with many thanks in advance.

Well, perhaps I should have done this to begin with. I
entered "Vista" in Google, and then I entered "Breeze Meetings." As
a result I found an old technote (

that said Vista will not support Breeze 5.
I assume that means that if you try to download the Breeze 5
add-in in order to use the presenters' (or hosts') tools in a
Breeze 5 meeting, onto a Vista computer, it will break.
I also found Adobe Connect's release note (
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/connect/61/releasenotes.html)
which reiterates the same thing and goes into greater detail.
So, yes, Virginia, Vista and Breeze 5 do not get along.
Upon further digging, I found documentation in Adobe that
contains these words about the RealTek audio codec found in Vista
computers: "Realtek codecs are not compatible with Presenter." The
same is applicable to Breeze Meetings. In fact, the RealTek codec
apparently runs at odds with Adobe Connect and Presenter as well.
This is a serious problem. What I need from Adobe or
Microsoft, I don't care who comes first, is a workaround.
What can be used as an alternative to RealTek?
What do I need to subscribe to in order to get regular
notices of these issues when they come up? Or-- (are you listening
Adobe?)-- what site do I need to check on a regular basis to get
these notices?

Compiling a CSS into SWF without merged SDK and dynamically loading

I have a flex application that is built with the SDK merged in (for my own good reasons). This application dynamically loads a style SWF that was built without the SDK merged. Unfortunately, it seems that the loaded SWF fails to resolve its references with the SDK and gives me a 1014 run-time error.
If I merge the SDK into the CSS SWF then it works. If I set both my application and the CSS SWF to use the SDK as an RSL then it works. In short the matrix is:

Hi,
In you rsl project properties, go to Flex Library Build Path and go to library path tab. Here you can edit your imported library. There's no need in RSL to import the libraries merge into code but external(even the Adobe libraries should be loaded as external) cause you load it already from your application project (as rsl or merge into code).

Yearly recurring meeting created on iPhone breakes iCal sync with exchange

I encounter a reproducable bug with Snow Leopard 10.6.1's iCal stopping sync with Exchange 2007 SP1 (Update Rollup 7), as soon a i create a yearly recurring meeting on iPhone 3GS connected to same Exchange Server via Active Sync.
After creating this meeting, syncing in iCal is broken, reporting following error:
iCal[31968]: GetCalendarItem operation failed
iCal[31968]: error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-11 UserInfo=0x117a06cc0 "iCal kann keine Ereignisse im Kalender „Kalender“ aktualisieren."
iCal[31968]: Queue operation failed
iCal will never get synced anymore, until this one meeting is deleted via iPhone, OWA or Outlook. Please note: E-Mail and contacts still sync without problems.
Can anyone having a similiar setup confirm this to be problem!?
Where can i "report" this officially to apple?
Used versions:
Mac OSX 10.6.1
iCal 4.0 (1362)
iPhone 3GS 3.1.2
Exchange 2007 SP1 Update Rollup 7
So everything up to date, except for exchange 2007 missing some fixes...
To better reproduce this, here's the procedure:
On iPhone create a new meeting, make it "whole day", set recurring to "weekly" and voila, next time you sync iCal it stops with exclamation mark!
After testing, delete the meeting, but make sure to delete ALL instances, otherwise syncing won't work anymore:-(

i was strubbeling with the same problem, but i found 'a' solution.
Let's hope that apple would fix this in the next version of iCal.
If iCal is saying that it cannot be synced, and you found an error like this "error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-11 UserInfo=...." in your console, try this (read carefully).
*What i have done.*
1. Get an pc with MS Windoos en MS outlook in your exchange network (yes really, you need it)
2. Open MS outlook (i used 2007).
3. Export your calender to a .pst backup file
4. Then navigate to "View > Current View" and hit "all events".
5. Select all events then delete them all
6. Import your backup file to the calender.
7. From step 3 to 6, they are waste of time.
*So... what you need to do*
01. Open iCal and remove your exchange account.
02. Get an pc with MS Windoos en MS outlook in your exchange network (yes really, you need it)
03. Open MS outlook (i used 2007).
04. Then navigate to "View > Current View" and hit "returning events".
05. Note all of your returning events in notepad (also events from the past).
+You can also delete these events from the past+
06. Now delete all these "returning events".
07. Press the send and recieve all button in outlook.
08. Grab a cup of coffee
09. Start iCal and re-setup your exchange account.
If your exchange account is syncing with iCal then you can recreate the returning events. If it isn't syncing try to remove some other data, but be shure that you have created a backup file.
In my case the error was in one of the returning events, but i have figured that out to delete group of events en try'd to sync again.
Please note that my 3G iPhone was syncing very good, at time of this problem.

Why isn't Breeze Presenter sold seperately?

Breeze Presenter is an excellent tool that satisfies a common
and growing requirement in the market (publishing voice-over
presentations on websites). Unfortunately Breeze Presenter is
frustratingly hard to buy as Adobe has chosen to tie the Presenter
product to Breeze Communication Server, a product that is only sold
on a (significant) subscription basis, which makes Breeze Presenter
hard to use for the masses. You can buy Breeze Meeting on a
pay-as-you-go basis but you can't use Presenter with a
pay-as-you-go Breeze Meeting account (as there's nowhere to store
the presentation).
Given that Breeze Presenter is really just an "authoring
tool" for authoring SWF content for Breeze (like the Flash IDE,
Captivate and Authorware) why not sell it in the same way - as a
stand-alone authoring tool?
It would be very cool to have the ability to publish SWFs of
Powerpoint presentaitons that have voiceovers where you just
publish the presentation as a SWF and delpoy the SWF onto Tomcat or
IIS and you're done. (The Powerpoint equivalent of Flashpaper if
you like.) You don't need Breeze Server for this simple
requirement.
Or can you do this already?

Nope, I´m not confirming because these are five licences
to author Rapid E-Learning Content out of PPT - no server
connection, nothing else. And I wrote cheaper then 2 Authorware.
This licence model changed from the time where you only could buy
Presenter with server addition.
Now you could use only the software.

Animation in Breeze

We use a lot of basic PowerPoint animation in our slides, for
some reason when we publish the course to breeze and sync the
animation it is not working correctly. it is either all coming in
at one time on a page or is leaving to fast. we are using Breeze
5.0 sp2.

Maybe you could provide just a little more info? When you say
"a lot" do you mean every element on the page has a custom
animation? Are they set to happen "on mouse click" or "after
previous" or maybe "with previous"? Do the animations work properly
when you syncronize animations?

Using a Document Camera with Meeting

Anyone using a Document Camera with Application sharing with
a breeze meeting. I know the camera part won't work well. But some
companies have software and USB connection to the CPU. Thought then
you could use Application Sharing to show the users.

you can browse the images and video with the image capture application. connect and turn on the camera before launching the application. you can then choose which to import. one other thing, does your camera show up as a removable drive? if it does, open it up as you would a folder.

Flash Lite - Automatic playback of SWF-files within MMS

Dear flash communty,
I've the problem that SWF-files doesn't play automatically when I open the MMS I received. I tried to solve the problem with SMIL files, but it seams that the Flash Lite player doesn't support these scripts. Does anyone of you know anything else to solve the problem? Is there another way to implement this feature?

We have been working with one of our customers on delivering
an on line sales tool using the Adobe Connect environment. They for
the usual legal reasons wished to use a sales aid they had already
created. This was a flash based CD-rom with various flash movies
initiated by rollovers and buttons.
But there was two problems:
1. The index would not work i.e. the menu page appeared but
the subsequent movies and animations could not be found
2. The click throughs and rollovers would not synchronizes,
i.e. if the presenter moved forward through the presentation the
participants did not.
Both of these obviously make it useless.
After over three weeks of R&D we (David Kwaw , Steve
Grovenor and J ) have developed a bespoke piece of programing,
based on Sync SWF

That solves this issue, we have since refined the coding so
that ONLY the presenter has control of the flash presentation,
making it more like Adobe Presenter just ALOT more flexible and
better looking.

Breeze and Network Security

While talking about Breeze and access from outside our
network, my colleague and I started wondering whether we need to be
concerned about what users can do once in a Breeze Meeting room.
Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this subject?
Do we need to worry about what files a Presenter might
upload? Is it possible for any kind of malware (such as an infected
.jpeg or such) to be uploaded and get outside of the Breeze
environment? We suspect not, since Breeze needs to process the file
first.
Are there other Breeze capabilities that might add a
potential risk to our network?
Are there any unique concerns if a user were a Meeting host?
Again, we don’t think so, but wanted to reach out to the
Breeze community to gain from their knowledge.

There are a lot of security issues, most of them related to
the wonderfully powerful features of Breeze. In a meeting, you can
share any file from your hard drive. Breeze does not screen the
files for viruses. YOu can share your desktop, so you could reveal
something on your computer that you shouldn't. You can take control
of another user's machine and you could see something you
shouldn't.
Also on the server side, Breeze communication server only
supports SMTP for sending email notifications. This is an old
standard which does not support validation, so if your email server
allows your Breeze server to send messages, you could be vunerable
to spoofing and then spam getting sent from your email
server.

Is there command tool/API/cmdlet for the feature of database sync group

we want to automate deployment in the Azure SQL DB. we use the feature of database sync group.
however, so far we can only set it in the manage.windowsazure.com
we want to know if there is command tool/API/cmdlet for the feature?

You can try to synchronize between two SQL Databases using the Sync Framework SDK and a Windows Azure worker role.You can also use the Sync Framework to write a console application to synchronize Windows Azure SQL Database with on-premises SQL Servers.

Connect Install Problem - Restarting Connect Services forever and ever

Hi,
I have installed Connect Server on my server. I was using the Embeded MSDE for the install. Everything seems to go fine during the install and first time config as usual.
But, when login to use and meeting the services are restarts during i meeting. I dont know What wrong on my Adobe Connect Pro Server .
Could everyone who used to have this issue help me please,

QuickTime 7.1.6 issues Help! Help! Help! Help!

I have a G5 dual 2.5 running on OS x 10.3.9. I have Final Cut Pro HD 4.5. I recently upgraded to QuickTime 7.1.6 (the only thing that has changed)and now my Final Cut will not launch. Can anyone out there tell me how to uninstall mannually or otherwise QT 7.1.6 Help I am trying to meet the Ozzy video contest deadline.

I've also notice one major issue with Quicktime : the video freezes during play whereas the sound continues. I've first experienced that while I was trying to make movies with iMovie, then directly with Quicktime !

The answer is you cannot, the skins are a requirement for the use of the flash player, and the right-click menu is there for the users security settings which you cannot override.
Your only other alternative is to use the html5 video, but then your videos would not play in IE<9.

Flash Movie Presentations in Adobe Connect

We have been working with one of our customers on delivering
an on line sales tool using the Adobe Connect environment. They for
the usual legal reasons wished to use a sales aid they had already
created. This was a flash based CD-rom with various flash movies
initiated by rollovers and buttons.
But there was two problems:
1. The index would not work i.e. the menu page appeared but
the subsequent movies and animations could not be found
2. The click throughs and rollovers would not synchronizes,
i.e. if the presenter moved forward through the presentation the
participants did not.
Both of these obviously make it useless.
After over three weeks of R&D we (David Kwaw , Steve
Grovenor and J ) have developed a bespoke piece of programing,
based on Sync SWF

That solves this issue, we have since refined the coding so
that ONLY the presenter has control of the flash presentation,
making it more like Adobe Presenter just ALOT more flexible and
better looking.

Everything except for the alpha transparency video is easily doable in Edge.
Rather then trying to shoehorn html5 video with an alpha transparency into Edge (not sure if this is doable), you could potentially use a png sequence or spriteSheet to play back those animations. Though the file size will be very large, and Edge does not have native implementation for png sequences or spriteSheet playback. yet.
