Bridge but no access to lr4
I have cs5 and lightroom 4. I just started to use adobe bridge and there is no option to open a file from bridge into lightroom, only into cs5. I am going to file-open with and there is no option to add lr 4 or anything else and i would like to be able to open from bridge into lr. help please
when clicking on browse for the photo type extension, there is not lightroom anything.
It is not possible to use the option to open in LR in this way. LR is a library based system and you first need to import the files before being able to develop.
Even in Finder (Mac) you can choose to open in LR but you first have to browse for the application itself because it is not in the list of available options and after have done so it does not stay present, you have to choose it every time again.
The result is that LR opens but the import window appears showing the selected file including the whole folder content waiting for import.
It just is not the right workflow, don't mix Bridge and LR before developing because they have a very different approach. Bridge is the gate to ACR and PS, LR is an application by itself, when finished developing you can export to work on it further in PS or if you wish so use in Bridge but that is after developing, not before.

I have a Mac computer and am trying to use a Photoshop CS4 program, but after accessing my desktop files through Adobe Bridge and clicking twice on any of the pictures to get into Photoshop, instead of entering photoshop, I get on the lefthand side an enlarged version of the picture with red, yellow and green buttons on top. Any suggestions on what is wrong, or what can be corrected ?
And there is the problem. Your pictures are opening up in Mac's own Preview app.
Do you want all your jpegs to open in Photoshop, or only when you are in Bridge?
Selecting a program to open a certain file is called: File Type Association.
You can choose this at the MacOS level or the Bridge level.
Here's how to do both:
Either MacOS or Bridge has the wrong app associated with the jpeg. Let's start with MacOS
Close Bridge and Preview. Select one of your jpegs, and press Cmd i, That will bring up the file info window.
Go down to the "Open with" section of File Info.
Choose Photoshop CS4 and click on the Change All... button to apply this choice to every jpeg on your Mac.
Then open Bridge and see if double-clicking opens it in Photoshop.
Now that means all jpegs on your Mac will open in Photoshop. Maybe you don't want that.
You can set your jpegs to open in Preview when Bridge is closed.
When you open Bridge, there is Preferences > File Type Associations where you can direct Bridge to open the jpegs in Photoshop when you are viewing in Bridge. -
I have a new mac book pro and and older MAC desktop. Both are backing up to my time capsule but it is close to full (1TB). If I purchase a new time capsule (2TB) can I bridge them or access both and back up to it still from both computers? If so how do I do this? Thanks in advance.
If you add another Time Capsule, you can have one or both Macs backup to that new device.
However, please note that it is not possible to have backups "carry over" seamlessly from one Time Capsule to another.
If you add a new Time Capsule, each Mac that is backing up to the new device will make a new complete backup and then backup incrementally after the master backup is completed. -
E4200v2 Bridge Mode + Guest Access: No DHCP IP's assigned?!
New E4200v2 on 2.0.37. In "Bridge Mode - DHCP" (i.e. Access Point not router). Guest Access is enabled & SSID broadcast. Dhcp Server is disabled, because my main Sonicwall router is providing that for main LAN 192.168.1.0.
PROBLEM = Client PC can see "-guest" SSID fine and associate to it, BUT PC does NOT receive a DHCP IP address (i.e. 192.168.33.x) therefore the browser login page never appears and guest access does not work.
I'm pretty sure that it's all related to DHCP. I'm assuming that the E4200 is not receiving or sending guest DHCP packets with the client PC.
I seen Guest Access work on the older E4200v1's before so I know what it should look like.
Can anyone suggest any likely reasons why my E4200v2 wouldn't be providing DHCP guest addresses in the 192.168.33.0 subnet?
I only have 24 hrs until I have to deploy 2 new E4200v2's at a remote site, and after that it's going to be really hard to troubleshoot because I won't be at that site.

Go to Solution.When you're in bridge mode DHCP server option goes away. And I don't care if DHCP requests are getting to my Sonicwall b/c that device is not going to assign the Linksys Guest IP's... E4200 must do that, apparently in a totally hidden way.
In any case, I don't have any more time to waste on E4200v2's so I'm going to try some E4200v1's which I just happen to have handy, thankfully.
If Bridge Mode + Guest Access works better on the V1's then I'll retreat back to that older more obsolete hardware.
I'll report back later.
(In meantime if anyone else cares to offer their knowledge experience about this, V2 or V1, I'm all ears)

Updated to ACR 8.4 now bridge can't access it. OSX 10.9.2 (latest version)
Just update to ACR 8.4 and now Bridge will not access ACR. Photoshop will, but not bridge! I'm on a MBP runnibng OSX 10.9.2. Any help?

I'm in the same sinking boat, and since Adobe has kept the 8.4 updater live, I think there might be a couple more to join us.
When you spoke to Adobe, were they aware of the problem, or were you the only person in the entire world that had this problem..... except for me and the other people that have posted.
I have not seen a report from the CC group.
Any chance that you also have Photoshop Elements on your computer too? I noticed that the updates included something for that too. -
Networked files show padlock (can't open) in Bridge, but not PS CS3
When looking at files on a network in Bridge CS3, they all show a padlock in the upper right corner of the icon representing the file and cannot be accessed via Bridge, but they are not locked. The same files can be seen, and opened (no padlock) in Photoshop CS3. Any suggestions?

I agree with the others (also about SMX and SMXX to display their own jobs, but not change them afterwards), but which report (tree) is this?
You can still give the user an ability to maintain a variant via transaction VARCH though (no execute possibility) . It will check S_PROGRAM p_action VARIANT or look for a user specific protection flag.
But then the user can submit it online as well from other transactions. That is why I thought you were looking for a way to run it as low priority in the background only.

After a recent iTunes update attempt iTunes no longer functions and the airport extreme base station is not accessable on our computer. We still have wifi but cannot access the base station software.
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the response. I tried that approach this evening and it didn't work for me. (Technically it worked for me, when I was hardwired into my base station, but would not work for me wirelessly, which is my main issue.)
Again, using the approach you recommended works only if I have my ethernet cable attached to the LAN port so my computer is communicating directly to the base station through the hard wire. I am able to scan for my base station and make setting adjustments normally this way too.
As soon as I disconnect from the LAN port and try to go wireless is where I run into problems. The Base Station's wireless network I created is available to choose in the top right corner of the monitor with all of the other available wireless devices/networks -- but the network I created does not have access to the internet. I am also unable to configure my Base Station wirelessly. When my Airport Utility tries to scan for the Base Station and Network, it cannot find any Apple Wireless Device. It's like the Wireless Network in my base station is not sending out a signal.
Is there a way to resolve this issue? -

I am using "MTS usb wifi" device and connect vpn through wifi Its working good the same win8.1 pro. But when i am try to connect VPN through LAN/Wired or USB modem (Like: Vodafone,MTS and others) its not working.
I am using Easy vpn on Cisco RV325 router in our office. Same VPN client is very good working in Windows 7 SP1 and Windows XP SP3.

I have lost my Safari app and all the bookmarks that go with it. I have tried to download my back-up on external drive but cannot access it. Tried a start with C key held down but still no access to the back up app.
Have used Superduper app. to back up and checked back-up occasionally to see if all files present and appeared OK.
I had previously started machine using original CD #1 to try and replace Eudora which was acting up. Did not knowingly touch Safari.

I checked the content of my other back-up and found the bookmark Bookmarks.plist in the library under Safari
Dumped the existing copy in the computer and drag-dropped the back up. All bookmarks restored.
Solved the Stickies problem by using Spotlight to find file "stickiesdatabase" and did a drag- drop to replace file. All data restored.
Re Ical data loss. Used Spotlight to find iCal document in Library - Preferences where I found com.apple.iCal.plist in folder.
Got ready to make change but did not immediately remove file. When I returned to Preferences folder to grab above document,
the readable descriptors had been changed to code consisting of some upper case letters and/or single symbols!
So now I cannot tell which is the symbol iCal.plist

Hi, I have no problem to reach new mails from my private account via WiFi access point. When I change (using "Options:.." at the main email window) to WAP access point it doesn't work. WAP access point is properly setup, because I can use it without
