Bridge cashe issues

Each time that I open Bridge my computer slows to a halt until a notice comes up that says "Bridge cannot read the central cashe." I purge the central cashe each time, but that never solves the problem. The computer continues to run very slow anytime bridge is running, and the notice comes up each time I open Bridge. Please help.

Bridge CS6 no longer can find the cashe to update at all and will not quit on it's own I have to force quit the app.. Nor does it update changes in mini bridge. It is static. It does not show any new changes to files since this AM. It seems to not be able to find the cashe to update.. I have purged the cashe many times since and the more I do it the worse it becomes and the more I get the message that I have to do so. I really don't want to have to reinstall yet again. Is there a corrupt file path somewhere? Or can it not get to an open port for some reason. This problem is a rather sudden one. thanks, Uhane.

To summarize so there are not a lot of repeating motifs.
••I ran CS5 and had CS6 on my system and had no problem.
••I unistalled CS5 using the adobe unistaller.
••Bridge began to not be able to find the user cashe after that and crashed upon loading the folders lib.
••CS6 worked fine but I could not use the mini bridge nor the bridge proper.
••I unistalled CS6 and reinstalled it. Still had the same problem.
••Used the script cleaner mentioned earlier in thsi thread on CS6, there being no CS5 listed.
••And then, of course, reinstalled CS6 AGAin.
••Still the problem persisted.
••I went into the user lib and hand deleted everything I could find for CS5. and then I reistalled for the 4 th time CS6, using the adobe unistaller. And still the problem persists.
••went the adobe script cleaner log report console to see there were no errors nor fails and there were none reported and showed a clean unistall.
So that is the history so far.
and here again is the screen shot of the message In receive upon opening bridge CS6.

After effects & Adobe Bridge preview Issue *freezing*

Hello all,
I wanted to begin learning After Effects CS4, unfortunately Adobe Bridge CS4 is halting my education.
If I explore any kind of After effects CS4 preset, and preview it inside of Adobe bridge, my pc freezes. The preview window, within Bridge CS4 turns blank white while it freezes,
the Windows toolbar of Adobe bridge, says not responding temporarily, if a wait a little while around 30-45 seconds I regain control of my pc again, the preview box occasionally will show a still image and sometimes it will stay white or flicker. If I do wait the 30-45 seconds the toolbar window no longer says 'not responding' I can click to a (non) After effects preset folder, (for example) 'My family pictures' and it will operate normally but if I go back to the After effects CS4 presets again the freezing will occur once more.
What I find strange is that Adobe Bridge previewing, works absolutely fine for my photoshop documents, Illustrator documents, and any Jpeg photos I have, all after effect presets fail to preview, regardless of type if it's a still shape background or animated sprite, the same freeze issue occurs
I was wondering if anyone has helpful tips?
so far I have downloaded all important driver updates for my graphics card, my card is a nVidia GeForce 7900 GS 256, I have also reinstalled bridge and AfterEffects, I have downloaded all the relevent players.
I am a Windows vista user, also I have enough RAM I believe, just over 3 Giga
I dont know how useful the info is on my Pc spec is, but I thought it could be worth mentioning.
I have looked for a few hours to find some kind of thread with a similar problem I have been unsuccessful, I hope someone can help

I do have the latest Quicktime player installed, I would'nt have have thought that would halt me previewing CS4 after effect still shapes and backgrounds? but.. I'm not to sure if I'm honest.
well I tried uninstalling and reinstalled my player still no sucess sadly.
do you know roughly what date all these old threads popped up?
I'm going to scavenge for them anyway in the the hope I find something useful. *must be positive*

Adobe Bridge Keyword issue

I am using Photoshop CS4 along with the Adobe Bridge that downloaded with it. I installed the software on an iMac with Snow Leopard as the OS. Using the Bridge, I assigned keywords to about a thousand images in numerous folders. I used the Bridge with these keywords to search for my images and it worked just fine. Then I upgraded the OS to Lion and immediately had a significant issue with searching in Bridge. Each time I identified a keyword to search (in the Edit-Find menu), the results came back "no files found". It was by accident that I discovered that, in order for the Bridge to recognize they keywords, I had to double click and open the folder first in Bridge. Once the folder had been opend and then closed, the keywords were activated. Needless to say opening each and every folder containing images has been very time consuming.
I am considering purchasing a new iMac this summer. It will probably have the new Mountain Lion OS in it and I will purchase CS6 to install in it. I am concerned that when I transfer all of my images into the new computer, I am going to have the same Bridge issue, and will have to go through this entire "open & close each folder in Bridge" exercise again in order to search by their keywords.
Has anyone had this issue to deal with? If so, I sure would like to know how you dealt with it.

I have exported my keyword list and saved it to my desktop.
If that was the list of your old system you only have to use the option import keywords from the same menu used to export the list. This will add all your keywords from the old list to your new list. If you use clear and import the old ones will be replaced by the list of the imported keyword list (so if you are not sure also make a back up of the existing list before using 'clear and import'
I also did a search of my entire computer and that file name does not show up.
You probably use Spotlight for this and spotlight is not very good in finding files hidden in the library, try the free 'Easy Find'
I use CS4 and the file in the path you provided is: Bridge CS4 Extensions. However, there does not appear to be a Keyword file in that folder.
You are in the wrong library, the extensions are sited in the library on root level (the computer) and you have to be in the library in your user account.
I overlooked the fact that you are on Lion and that has the user library hidden by default. Do a Google search to retrieve the user library, there are easy temporarily ways and a bit more difficult to make it visible permanent
Once I go through an entire search with "include non-indexed files" checked, have all of the folders/files that have been searched through now been indexed? And does that mean that whenever I perform a search again, I no longer have to have that box checked?
If you go to the Find menu and in the source field select your parent folder that contains all your subfolders the search will go through your entire image content.
You only have to check non indexed files once but after the first search (takes long to index) the option is not taking that much time again so no objection to leave it on.

Bridge memory issues causing everyone's problems? Maybe???

After opening files Camera Raw files in Photoshop CS3, through the Bridge 2.1.1.9 interface on a MacBook Pro with all the latest updates to Tiger, and editing them, then setting the star rating below the thumbnail, going into File Info and enter all my data, and return to the file thumbnail to click on it to create a dng file, it takes away my ratings... this is sign... I've found that when this happens the next thing is that the preview window shows an odd looking version of my photo and when I open it up and look at the raw settings sure enough, it's applied some setting from a previous session over the top of my work!
This has only been happening recently, so I upgraded my version of Camera Raw to the latest 4.5. Didn't solve anything.
So in reading all the other complaints about Bridge CS3, of which I've had none, I am wondering if there isn't an overriding problem that causes MOST of these, and it just manifests differently on different configurations.
Is there a way to increase memory allocation to Bridge? I've compacted the cache, and that didn't solve my issues. I have the cache set to the mid point... the language is very confusing on it...smaller cache equals better performance (define better). Could this setting solve my issue?

Bridge email issue

From day 1 till I updated the OS on Sunday, i had no issues with the bridge email. Since then, when opening my email from either the icon or from the notification in the top left, the window opens blank white with the green loading icon, then the screen goes gray for a moment...then back to the loading screen then back to gray. In the end my email never loads. Is anyone else experiencing this, or have a fix? So far i have had fun finding fixes and work arounds for the playbook, but this is really frustrating!

I had something similar, not after an upgrade, it just happened. A hard reboot fixed it. Simple to try, just hold down the power button for about 10 seconds. Hope it works.

Bridge Renaming issue Dialogue box color

Attached is the screen grab for the issue i have. In Bridge (Creative Cloud CS6 when I go to doa batch rename my dialogue box is black. How do I fix this?

Almost certainly this is the trouble maker.
The minimum amount of VRAM for the Cloud CS6 is 512 MB, (1 GB recommended)
And 4 GB of RAM is also not that much for a MacPro (I have 16 GB RAM installed and upgraded my Graphic Card with the ATI Radeon 5770 with 1 GB VRAM from the Apple Store)
If you check the preferences for PS under performance you will see that you can only use a few GB RAM for PS (system and other open applications also consume a bit of RAM) and the use of a graphic processor (needed for Open CL with nice features as flick panning, Birds eye zoom, scrubby zoom etc) is not able to select on your computer.
So basically investing a bit in a lot of RAM (fairly cheap nowadays) and a new Graphic card (a bit higher investment) will not only most likely solve this bridge problem but will let you also benefit with more over all performance of your whole system. But of course, the decision is up to you, because sadly enough you are also the one thats need to pay for it...
The upside is that both replacement of RAM and Graphic card is very easy for a Mac Pro and you certainly are able to do this yourself after reading some short instructions

MacOS 10.5.4 and Bridge tagging issues

My dept just got upgraded to MacOS 10.5.4, and my team is now running into problems tagging PSD files with Bridge (version 2.1.1.9). Upon keying in data in the IPTC fields and applying, I get an error message saying "Error in writing metadata to..." We're attempting to tag these particular files over the network which seems to be the problem since tagging files located on the local system works fine.
So far, all other file formats work fine. It's just PSDs.
And, when we use Photoshop to tag (File Info), it works there. Just seems to be related to Bridge and PSDs over the network.
Any thoughts?

This may or may not help with your issue, but you should consider updating your OS to 10.5.5. Some Leopard users have reported increased stability with the latest update.
10.5.4 was bad news. :(

1130 bridge password issue

Hi guys,
hope someone can shed some light on an issue I have.
We have a pair of 1130 bridges, fully configured up and running.
Had to move it from one site to another with different password requirements: all good as I have the original passwords. changed the enable password no problem, but cannot for the life of me find where to change the initial console password.
It doesnt seem to have a user associated with it and nothing I try seems to make a blind bit of difference to this initial one: forclairty it is this one:

Serlvet Bridge Version Issue

Hi,
I am using Equinox Servlet Bridge to run OSGI bundles in Tomcat using bridge.war.
The current version for org.eclipse.osgi package is version 3.3 whereas eclipse exports bundle with latest version as 3.10 due to which few packages are not matched at run time due to mismatch in version (for e.g. - org.osgi.framework is 1.3.0 in bridge.war but 1.8.0 in eclipse bundles).
Is there any updated version of bridge.war or any other possible way to acheive same?

Hard to say for sure but generally issues with appearance are more in the way the PDF was created rather than how Reader is opening them.

PPM 9.1.1 Bridge connection issues

Hi!
I have a PPM 9.1.1 environment with a PPM Bridge connection to a SQL MS Project server environment to retrieve schedule data. I have the Bridge Extender installed on the Project server, and I have all the Bridge Server Setting correct in the Tools->Bridge section in PPM. When I try to test the connection I get "Primavera P6 Bridge is not installed on the P6 server." We do not have P6 installed, so not sure why I'm getting that error.

As an update, in case someone runs into the same issue, this has now been brought to Oracle support to the Developing team for OPPM. They believe it might be a glitch with the app, so they will try to resolve and send a patch. I'll again update when I hear something.

EA6500 on Bridge Mode Issues

After updating the firmware of th EA6500 to Ver.1.1.28.146072 I have no longer access to the GUI options of Speed Test, Guest Access, Parental Controls, Media Prioritization and USB Storage. I have reset the router to factory default settings and still none of the items are showing on the web page the only options available are:
Connectivity
Troubleshooting
Wireless.
Can anybody confirm if is experiencing the same issue with the GUI in Bridge Mode,

It's a good thing that restoring the previous firmware fixed your problem.This might indeed a firmware issue & I'm also hoping that the next firmware version will fix this issue.

1400 Bridge - Network Issues

I have 4 bridges.
1 root
3 non roots
All associations are working and they can pass traffic.
However after a few hours the root bridge stops passing traffic to the Switch (uplink).
I try to ping its IP - times out.
If i go to the Non-root side. Console to the switch then telnet to the non-root bridge I can see it is associated to the Root Bridge. I ping the root bridge over the AIR and I recieve a reply.
I can telnet to the root bridge and see that all 3 non roots are associated to it and I can ping between them.
I can NOT ping from the root bridge out to the switch (its uplink).
On the switch I see the CDP neigh with IP information and all. On the root bridge I see no CDP neigh information from the switch.
The switch is working as other devices are plugged into it and can pass traffic.
What fixes the issue is I reset the root bridge, either by pulling the power or going to the non root side telneting to the root bridge and doing the reload command.
Once the root bridge reboots and is up everything works like it should for a few hours.
Any Ideas as what could be the issue?

Do a show int on the AP. See if there are any CRC errors.
Try setting the switch and the AP to speed 100 & full duplex and swap the cable between the two out.
Upgrade the firmware.

South Bridge Heat Issues

I'm having serious stability issues with my Neo-FIS2R. As far as I can tell, this seems to be related to the amazing heat output of the south bridge on my board. Under light-load to idle conditions the south bridge chip is far too hot to touch comfortably. Is anyone else have a problem here? Or at least, does anyone else's chip run this hot?

Yeah, I've never bothered checking the south bridge before this. The stability issues I'm having are random crashes and lockups incident to anything even remotely graphics intensive. My MSI FX5900 was running really hot - I originally thought it was the problem. But when I swapped it out for a spare Gainward GeForce2 Ti, I encountered the same instabilities - and also the Ti began running really hot. (And both cards run stable in my other machines.)
Ram is Kingston Hyper-X 2-2-2-6 (PC300), I don't think it is the problem. And I've tested the PSU with minimal and high power usage setups without noticing a difference. The only abnormality I see is the south bridge, which seems to be hottest about the time of a crash or lockup.
I'm open to new ideas.
