Bridge CC crashed then windows7 applied compatibility settings to program
Hi, I couldn't find any info on this, so I'm wondering if any body can comment. I just opened CC Bridge, and I had a Data Disc in the computer and Bridge was trying to read or load alot of larger media files ( it was a Digital Juice 'Silhouettes' Disc) and tried to switch in to view my internal media drive and it just took a while, so it appeared that Bridge was still attempting to read the DJ disc, so, me being impatient, ( I know, I am a work in progress) ejected the disc, hoping it would 'release' Bridge of the duty...no luck, it hung and had a crash and a 'red x' error message, then windows said:
"Windows applied compatibility settings have been applied to program"
I'd like Adobe to know (is this the best place to log a crash?) And I read that I can't undo Windows compatibility settings...Should I be concerned? Any comments? Thanks.
Richard
c. Once you post something that's helpful I'm sure someone will give you a thanks, until then stop trolling these boards - your name was all over that thread with useless and unhelpful information
Well mister Chuck 'know it al', you can congratulate yourself. With just 2 posts in the past year and no points for helpful answers at al you come in hard and call one of the most helpful posters a troll.
This was the limit for both of us, we had to stand a lot, including no help from Adobe but a more crippled forum website after each major upgrade. No possibility to place FAQs, a lot of people screaming for help without taking the effort to look first for similar problems, almost never providing correct details, crucial for a mixed Mac/Windows forum.
We had to suffer a lot, getting in unpaid and just plain users like all other guests, only it did cost us a lot of spare time.
But now we can rest from this task because mister Chuck "know it al" has jumped in to the rescue.
I wish you good luck and pity your friends and family, it must be a difficult task to live with such a nice person.
Goodbye to you all!!

Bridge CS6 crashes when I apply metadata
Similar problem to this: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5025995
The problem started suddenly last week. If I try to apply metadata or keywords to an image, Bridge closes. Sometimes I can apply one or two keywords before this happens, but not many and it always closes after applying more than a few keywords. Before this started, I had no problems with Bridge CS6.
Have tried updating graphics card drivers, resetting preferences, rebooting, changing the locatioon of the photos, with no luck.

Bridge jpeg thumbnails and previews get RAW settings
On jpeg files without any RAW setting applied, Bridge still applies RAW settings to the thumbnails and the preview are thus display incorrectly. Opening the file shows the jpeg as it should be, without RAW settings applied.
I have RAW preferences set to apply auto settings to RAW files without any current settings.
I have my RAW settings to open jpegs in RAW *only* when they already have settings. If I set this to disable jpeg support, then the RAW settings are not automatically applied to jpegs without existing settings. aka, Bridge redoes the thumbnails without the auto setting.
While it is correct to apply this to RAW files without settings, jpeg files are already "developed/printed" and should not get additional auto develop settings automatically applied.
My Bridge is 4.0.4.2
Raw is 6.3
-NormanThanks, I did, since it is affected by a RAW preference I figured a double post was acceptable.

Adobe Bridge CS3 crashes on load in my Windows 7 workstation.
Adobe Bridge CS3 crashes on load in my Windows 7 workstation.
I recently completely removed, deactivated and reinstalled all my Adobe Creative Suite CS3 Master Collection to solve some problems with other application from the suite and now I'm surprise Bridge continues to fail. In my portable workstation the same software (Bridge) uses to work.
I tried launching Bridge under several compatibility modes. All failed.
Is there any know bug I should be aware of? Any fix?
Is this a common problem?Curt Y. Thank you for your answer.
It was only Bridge who was crashing. It failed to load and Windows was giving an error message.
I tried your suggestion, and resetting all options in the reset window it now loads. It was as simple as that. -
Hi All,
I had a working IPv6 tunnel with my Airport Express to tunnelbroker.net using the 7.6.1 firmware. After updating to 7.6.3, I have tried many things to get it to work and the only one that works is downgrading from 7.6.3 back to 7.6.1. After seeing this new technical note, it appears that the root of my issue is that I can not get the "IPv6 Delegated Prefix" field to stick - it is always empty after the reboot to apply the settings.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
CraigNI'm in the same boat with a 3rd Gen AEBS. Only thing I haven't tried is a complete reset and reconfiguration from nothing, which I may wind up doing this afternoon just to rule it out. The best irony of all of this is that tunnelbroker.net is under my responsibility, and I can't validate the new settings paradigm. At least getting back to 7.6.1 is easy enough and everything works fine there.
IPv6 Delegated prefix doesn't get saved when using the format from their example, then a 6to4 address shows up as the local address on the main Internet page, and no RAs are received once the AEBS comes back from a reload. Something's a little off on this release. -
Bridge CC crashes when it has to build JPEG thumbs.
Bridge CC crashes when it has to build JPEG thumbs. When I navigate to a folder with jpeg images and it tries to build thumbs, I look at gray boxes in the thumbs for a few seconds then it crashes and gives a log. But it runs fine when I access a folder with only movies. Those thumbs build fine with no crash. Anytime I land on a directory with jpegs it crashes. It sees .psd and .ai file formats fine and builds those thumbs. But any jpeg in a directory and it crashes after attempting to build the thumb... with the crash log below. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It is any jpeg file. Again, any help would be a much appreicated.

Bridge CS6 crashes when adding tags or ratings
Bridge CS6 crashes when adding tags or ratings. Someone suggested upgrading video driver. It resolved the problem for a short time and then started crashing again when adding tags or ratings. Sometimes it works fine but lately it crashes almost every time I tag or rate one image. I have upgraded my video driver and reset cache and reset preferences.
Never had a crash with Photoshop CS6 or RAW ...only with Bridge when Tagging or Rating

Thanks for your help PaulCurt Y ....saw your response to another person with the same problem.....video, printer, or scanner drivers could be the problem???? Really? My computer never crashes until I installed Bridge.

Bridge CS6 Crashes Every Time It Is Opened
Bridge CS6 crashes every time it is opened. It never gets beyond the clicking of the icon on the dock... it bounces... then closes immeadiatly. I am working on a Mac computer running OS 10.7.4 and have been forced to use Bridge CS5 instead. Is there any fix for this or any updates coming out soon?
Thanks Mike
I appreciate your comments. I will suggest they contact Markzware in Australia, they have been helpful in the past with me.
I used to produce the Magazine for this client and they decided to take on their own designer! I was just trying to help them out as you never know when they may decide to come back to me, but I can’t spend too much time on it for them - i tried - we tried - sorry!!!! (Their in-house designer didn’t have a back up as their time capsule wasn’t working… Lesson learnt I think!
Thanks for you help and thoughts.
Thanks

We are finally getting ready to migrate from SCCM 2007 to 2012 R2.
Our current setup has 5 site servers with five OSD setups with boot media and Windows 7 task sequences.
I want to move all that to one site with a single OSD W7 task sequence.
The current, "apply network settings", step adds the workstation to one of five different OUs. The same with the "apply windows settings" step, we have five local admin passwords for five regions around the state.
I thought I might run five versions of each step and add a condition to each one that would only run if the machine was on the right subnet. Or the right Boundary group or maybe the right active directory site.
Currently I'm creating five boundary groups that I hope to detect by running a power script get-CmBoundaryGroup. Then apply the results maybe as a task sequence variable in the task steps options/Add Conditions.
Anybody have a better approach. Or alternate plan. Are you integrated with MDT? If so, you can use customsettings.ini to put machines into specific OUs based on the DefaultGateway.
See these links for ideas:

Applying filter settings to multiple objects
Is it possible like in Microsoft Word, Excel et al using the
'paint' icon to apply formatting settings to other objects? In
Fireworks case, filter settings like drop shadow, angle etc..
?Hi Adobe,

Yup! Apply what you want to one object, then copy the object,
then
shift+ctrl+alt+v the other objects to paste attributes (or
Edit>Paste
attributes).

Bridge keeps crashing when it is opened.
I purged my cashe and restarted my computer, since then my Bridge CC crashes every time I try to open it. What should I do?
I have solved it. At the time I was working on a very large file (composite of photos). A panorama of 50+ photos. I always work out of Bridge, and I assume it could not handle the size. I went into the folder (of which Bridge was trying to open)from the computer and moved the composite to the desktop, then tried opening Bridge, and it worked.

BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
A screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).

Bridge CS3 Crashes upon start-up...after a few seconds
Was working fine....then suddenly crashes upon start-up either from within PS (browse) or from launching it. Same error message. Reloaded photoshop software, restarted...same problem. Tried resetting preferences (clicked all three reset boxes). No change. Did not add or mod any software that I know of. Running Vista. Has been working fine up until a couple days ago. Any help suggestions?

Do you use just central or distributed cache (export cqche to folder)? Purging the cache does not do anything to the distributed cache. You have to do that manually acording to the adobe document.
Might want to read the adobe document on reseting preferences.
If you look at the photo folders that you were last working on with Windows Explorer do you see any thumbnails that don't display, or any other odd thing that might indicate a corrupt file? -
Apply network settings join domain issues
I create a default task sequence in CM 2012 R2. On the apply network settings there is the option to join the domain. If I select to join to the domain, there is an account to set. I set the account and test the account (test button right there) and
the test to ad succeeds.
I then apply and close the task sequence. if you go back into the task sequence, and check the account to join domain, the password is now much longer than the original (only dots shown of course) and if I click test, the test FAILS.
I am not sure if that is the expected behavior or the root of my issue.
My issue is my machines are failing to join the domain. Under Windows\Pather\UnattendGC, I see a log file with the error, failed to join domain, error code 5 (something like that). When I look up that error, I see it means access denied.
Any ideas? The task sequence will never show the correct length of the password for security reasons, so that's the expected behavior.
Could you share what permissions you've given that account?
These are the permissions that I use:
Scope: This Object and all descendant objects
- Create Computer Objects
- Delete Computer Objects
Scope: Descendant Computer Objects
- Read All Properties
- Write All Properties
- Read Permissions
- Modify Permissions
- Change Password
- Reset Password
- Validated write to DNS host name
- Validated write to services principal name
This will work for every kind of deployment scenario that you may have to use the account in.

Problem Re-applying Develop settings after roundtrip to photoshop!
I am having a very annoying problem with re applying develop settings back to an image after touching up in photoshop.
Here is my basic workflow.
1 - import camera files to lightroom (Raw .cr2 Files)
2 - make slects and experiment with color develop settings.
3 - Rest all develop settings.
4 - send to photoshop for skin touch ups via edit in photoshop. OR export .DNG files for my touch up artist.
5 - Re import into lightroom via saving from photoshop to up date the copy it makes or just re-importing if it was a DNG i exported
6 - copy the develop settings from the original then pasting onto the edited version.
When I do this paste the develop settings the image gets totally blown out and is not at all close to the original develop settings I had decided on.
Note: before pasting the develop settings the touched up file is IDENTICAL to the reset original.
This is a Major problem for me and totally makes it impossible to match the original effect.
What am I doing wrong here?So what should the workflow be?
Do your best on RAW in Lightroom, edit in Photoshop (16bpc, ProPhoto) for final touches that Lightroom cannot accomplish (retouch skin etc.).
if I do an effect then send to photoshop to edit and then back to lightroom is some of the color information lost? say if my effect is really blowing out the whites and I want to change it post photoshop edit am I able to get that color information back?
No, if you blow the highlight in raw, you cannot get them back from a PSD. The point is not to blow them if you don't wish to, then there will be nothing to recover fro a PSD. But if your artistic choice was to blow the highlights in a picture, then there's on difference when you blow them and no point in wishing
to recover them on a latter stage.
Do the photoshop files have the same color range as the raws?
Yes, if you use the ProPhoto RGB space and 16bpc bit depth.
