Bridge CC crashes when I am applying keywords
Hello everyone!
I'm using applied keywords in Bridge to standardize our metadata and it seems that at least once every hour or so I'll be in the middle of adding keywords and Bridge CC will "unexpectedly crash" so none of my changes get saved.
Has anyone else experienced this? I wondering if it's something I'm not doing correctly.

Photoshop & Bridge CC (downloaded last week)
That is not the same as having the latest versions, you also ned to check for updates to be sure using the latest versions
RAW files seem ok, the problem is happening with JPEG pics
Double check if you have read and write permissions for the files, folders and disks, but first check if you can add other metadata like keywords etc to the problem files. If not it seems definitively a read write permission issue.
And also check if you have used the correct file naming with no strange characters, only one dot at the end of the filename and the correct extension (preferable .jpg).

Bridge CS6 crashes when adding tags or ratings
Bridge CS6 crashes when adding tags or ratings. Someone suggested upgrading video driver. It resolved the problem for a short time and then started crashing again when adding tags or ratings. Sometimes it works fine but lately it crashes almost every time I tag or rate one image. I have upgraded my video driver and reset cache and reset preferences.
Never had a crash with Photoshop CS6 or RAW ...only with Bridge when Tagging or Rating

8.0 GB RAM
Windows 7 64 bit

Bridge CC crashes when it has to build JPEG thumbs.
Bridge CC crashes when it has to build JPEG thumbs. When I navigate to a folder with jpeg images and it tries to build thumbs, I look at gray boxes in the thumbs for a few seconds then it crashes and gives a log. But it runs fine when I access a folder with only movies. Those thumbs build fine with no crash. Anytime I land on a directory with jpegs it crashes. It sees .psd and .ai file formats fine and builds those thumbs. But any jpeg in a directory and it crashes after attempting to build the thumb... with the crash log below. Any help appreciated. I also have fixed disk permissions a number of times. Tried about everything. This seems to be a problem with JPEG files. And it is not specific to jpegs from my DSLR or anything. It is any jpeg file. Again, any help would be a much appreicated.

Bridge CS5 crashes when opening

Adobe Bridge, CS5 crashes when starting up. I downloaded Photoshop CS5 Extended, installed it on my new MacBook Air (this computer has never seen any CSx product). Installed the CS5 serial number, installed the SC4 legacy serial number, all is well. Photoshop runs fine. I installed all my Nik plugins and Bokeh Plugin. All is well. I tried running Bridge, and it crashes during the launch "The operation could not be completed. An unknown operating system error has occurred." Adobe released an update, which I downloaded, but during installation, it too crashed (couldn't perform the update and provided a link to Adobe support.
Fours hours later with Adobe. Tried:
1) Deleting the PLIST file for Bridge, no luck.
2) Tried the Option Bridge trick to reset all preferences in Bridge, no luck.
3) Created a new Admin account, logged into it, Bridge worked.
4) Adobe technical help said it is now an Apple problem since the program worked with the new admin account.
5) Apple said pound sand, it's an Adobe program, it should work regardless of which admin account.
6) Back to Adobe, talked to third level (still tier 1) person, it's an Apple problem. He suggested deactivating Photoshop, un-install Photoshop, run a clean script (which I just downloaded but haven't tried) which will wipe out any files that has to do with CS5 that the un-install program doesn't un-install (totally logical), re-download and re-install everything, again (I haven't tried this yet).
Doing a Google search for Bridge crashing while opening reveals a frightening amount of comments with people having similar problems (don't even get me started about Adobe Air).
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Arnie...Guess I'll have to take it to the Apple store and have them reinstall everything. My first experience with Macs is making Microsoft look totally brilliand at this point. I guess the thing that has really ticked me off about this whole thing is that Apple support (who must obviously know of this kind of problem) wouldn't give me the time of day unless I paid $249 for their care plan because I was past my 90 day "warranty"
Sorry to hear that and yes, support from big companies is not what it should be, can't argue with that.
However assuming you did back up important files (if you had any in that short period) and you have all the serial numbers there should be no problem to install all of it your self again if needed.
If you keep pressing the on/off button on your machine it will get you a force Quit and the machine will shut down. The press again to restart and if no luck try to insert the install disk (but here i'm a bit at loss, don't use Lion yet and have not bought a new Mac for 3 years but I assume there is still an install or repair disk that comes with your MacBook??)
With the disk in the player keep pressing the 'c' key when starting the computer and the computer starts from the disk.
You can first use disk utility from the install disk and use the option to check and repair disk first.
It really is not difficult and you will be better off when experience installation by yourself and in no time don't need support anymore -
Bridge CS6 crashes when I try to apply metadata.
I've had some major issues with my Bridge recently. I want to apply a metadata template to all my photographs, one folder of not too many photographs at a time. It was all good in the start but now, when I'm not even halfway through it keeps crashing all the time.
I tried restarting my computer, didn't help.
I tried checking for updats for my video card, nothing to update.
I tried getting rid of all the cache, didn't help.
It feels like I've tried everything now. I also split up my metadate template into one template for each part of it. It was fine for name and other short stuff but once I get to the longer ones, such as copyright notice it crashes again.
And it also crashes even if I just try to apply the metadata to a single file.What OS and how much RAM?
Have you tried resetting preferences? Hold down ctrl key or option key and start Bridge. Will get a reset window. -
Bridge CS6 crashes when I apply metadata

The problem started suddenly last week. If I try to apply metadata or keywords to an image, Bridge closes. Sometimes I can apply one or two keywords before this happens, but not many and it always closes after applying more than a few keywords. Before this started, I had no problems with Bridge CS6.
Have tried updating graphics card drivers, resetting preferences, rebooting, changing the locatioon of the photos, with no luck.

Adobe Bridge CC Crashing When labeling
Every time that I try to label a photo in Adobe Bridge CC, meaning applying a rating mark with *****, the software crashes.
PC Specs:
Window 7 Ultimate 64bit
32 gb Ram
512gb SSD (samsung Evo 840)
Dual Radeon R9 290
Tripple 28" monitors
Please adviseOpen up event viewer in OS and see what crash log says. You are looking for Faulting Module.
Some have reported crashing when adding metadata, and one of the main culprets is trying to add data to a file before it is created. So look at your date created time. Can be an incorrect camera date that is ahead in time. -
Bridge CC crashes when I try to rate certain pictures
I have a file contining about 100 pictures. All taken around same time on same camera. I can rate most pictures ok, but with some pictures it causes Bridge to crash. Looking at the metadata it seems ot be only pictures that have been edited and therfore show a "modified" date later than the date taken

That is not the same as having the latest versions, you also ned to check for updates to be sure using the latest versions
RAW files seem ok, the problem is happening with JPEG pics
Double check if you have read and write permissions for the files, folders and disks, but first check if you can add other metadata like keywords etc to the problem files. If not it seems definitively a read write permission issue.
And also check if you have used the correct file naming with no strange characters, only one dot at the end of the filename and the correct extension (preferable .jpg). -
Bridge keeps crashing when it is opened.
I purged my cashe and restarted my computer, since then my Bridge CC crashes every time I try to open it. What should I do?
I have solved it. At the time I was working on a very large file (composite of photos). A panorama of 50+ photos. I always work out of Bridge, and I assume it could not handle the size. I went into the folder (of which Bridge was trying to open)from the computer and moved the composite to the desktop, then tried opening Bridge, and it worked.

Now you need to Uninstall CS6, look for, download, install and run the Adobe CS Cleaner Tool, then Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility, then re-install CS6 from scratch, apply al available uodates, and finally run Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility once again. All of that in that precise order. -
Bridge CS6 crashing when there is a GIF file in the folder.
Out of the box, Adobe Bridge has been crashing "randomly" when opening folders.
To pinpoint the cause of the crash, I created a new folder and dragged the files one by one from one of the other folders that crashed Bridge.
It all works fin until I drag a GIF file, then it just stops responding and crashes immediately.
I have tried with several different GIF files, and they all seem to crash Bridge.
Any ideas of any settings to stop this from happening?
I, of course, need to work with gifs, so filtering those out is not a solution.

It seems to be any gif causing the crash, at least I haven't found one that doesn't crash it so far, here's an example:
It doesn't have to be animated either. Still gifs crash it too.
I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pack 1, 64-bit OS, 24Gb RAM, Intel Core i7 CPU, I have a GeForce GTX 590 video card. I have a similar setup at my home office, and bridge seems to work just fine there (with the same files even).
I searched around here and I found issues popping up with Bridge and GIFs, but nothing answered or exactly like my problem. Weird.
Is there a way for Bridge to not try to render GIFs, but still show them so I can change metadata, open them in PS, etc? -
Bridge CC crashes when opened in Premiere Pro CC
Bridge CC tends to crash regularly when open in Premiere Pro CC. Sometimes it takes longer to crash than other times. sometimes it doesn't crash at all but it appears if I leave both programs open for an hour and then come back to work on a job it will crash in the middle of looking at footage to import into premiere. Is this a bug or is there some way to fix it on my computer?
Need more info. What OS and ram?
Bridge is a processor intensive program and if processing video in Pro CC it could starve computer for resources. -
Bridge CC crashes when trying to open
I am using a windows 64 bit computer and when I try to open Bridge CC it immediately crashes and windows closes it. Just recently added Photoshop CC 2014 it did work for awhile. Also have CS6 Web and Design Premium installed. Tried to log out of the CC and log back in. Still unable to open Bridge CC. Where am I going wrong?
Problem solved with a computer restart in addition to log off and log in CC.

Adobe Media Encoder crashes when borders are applied to the "barn doors" effect.
Pproheadless.exe stops working. End of story. Doesn't matter what kind of clip I try to apply this to. Barn Doors works; Barn Doors with a border doesn't.

Not sure if Mercury Playback is enabled. The crash only happens when creating a file in Media Encoder. I've isolated the problem to rendering as a DVD-Mpeg with "Render at Maximum Depth" checked. When it is unchecked, the files render without a crash.
