Bridge cc expand to dual monitor mode when copying or deleting photos?
why does bridge cc expand to dual monitor mode when copying or deleting photos?
You say your running 10.5.6? Why haven't you updated to 10.5.8?
FWIW, I never had color issues under 10.5.X, however I have since upgrade to 10.6.
See the thread I started in which Adobe responded:

Bridge auto expands from one monitor to two when accessing folders
When I try to rename a folder Bridge auto expands from one monitor to two monitors and doesn't let me change the name. If I try to delete a photo it auto expands, lets me delete the photo but remains expanded across two monitors. This is a new experience I have had Bridge CC for about a year and this activity started on Friday. How do I prevent Bridge from automatically expanding across the two monitors?
A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.
BOILERPLATE TEXT:
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CC", but something like CC2014.v.2.2) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).

Elements 11 Preview Window not visible in dual monitor mode
When I go to dual monitor mode the preview window is hidden. I can still hear the audio from the clip but I can't see the video window. It is still hidden when I switch back to single monitor mode. The only way to bring it back is to close out the program and reopen it. Does anyone know where it goes and how to make it visible?
MAINEEDIT
I have just set up for Premiere Elements 11 Dual Monitor Mode in Windows 8 64 bit computer.
How do you have your monitors set up...Extend Across.. or other?
I am not having any problems keeping track of what I believe you are referring to as the "Preview Window". So please excuse
if I double check with you via the following screenshot.
Preview Window which can be brought up
a. double clicking the file in Project Assets
b. double clicking the file on the Expert workspace Timeline
I am going to go over this one more time with my Premiere Elements 11 and Windows 8 64 bt computer to see
if I can create the situation that I am interpreting that you have.
Thanks.
ATR
Add On...This especially makes me ask....
When I reopen the program the preview window appears in its normal position.
The Preview Window is going to close when you save/close the project. As you saying that you re-opened the project
to find the Preview Window opened? -
How to enable a dual monitor mode
I have a MSI FX52000 VTD-128 board which suppose to support a dual monitor mode. It has D-Sub analog, DVI and VIVO connectors.
Would it be possible to connest primary monitor to DVI and secondary to analog output or only Video Out can be used for the secondary monitor?Have you installed the latest "Forceware" Drivers?...I think MSI's 52.70's are great...How you should go about setting up for two displays is to go into NVIDIA Driver Control Panel>trouble shooting>Click on the "Detect Displays" Button after you connect the other monitor ...Sean REILLY875

miniDisplay to HDMI : How to turn off the Dual Monitor output when the adapter is attached and the TV is off ? And will keeping the adapter connected even if it is not in use, cause damage to the adapter ?
I have my external monitor/tv setup of the left. If I leave the adapter attached with the TV off, I am still able to cross the border/boundry of my MBP screen ! As instead of detecting a TV, the MBP is detecting the adapter as a screen. I do not want to damage my thunderbolt/miniDisplay port by plugging and unpluggin the unit each and every time.

Slideshow on 1st monitor (while in dual monitor mode)
Apparently, Lightroom expects you to always use the second monitor for slideshows and does not allow you to use the first (no options available as far I my research went).
My 1st monitor is bigger and would be my choice for slideshow presentations. I am sure I'm not the only person with this setup.
(BTW: I don't quite understand why there's two shortcuts for slideshows on a Mac - "Cmd + Return" and "Shift + Alt + Cmd + Return". In dual monitor mode they do exactly the same, even though the distinction suggests they would have something to do with the target monitor...)me too originally! Until I remembered that LR never works like that!! The module system can sometimes get confusing trying to remember which things apply throughout LR and which things only on a module...however there is usually some way round every problem in the end,and one of the joys (or frustration dependant on how busy I am) is discovering it.

Dual monitor mode causes lag in edit response
Has anyone seen this problem? In single monitor mode the response to edit moves is quite fast, in dual monitor mode that is a frustrating lag in response. Thanks in advance for any help you can share.

The bug has been reported
Thanks a ton, I was trying to figure this out now and then and was getting frustrated. -
Not pleased with PreEl 11 dual monitor mode
finally got PreEl 11 working on my PC and do not like the dual monitor mode. in previous PreEl programs i could detact the monitor and out it in to another screen and still have all the tools on the other screen. now the monitor and most of the tools move with the monitor so i have a split work space. not very handy at all. i am HOPING that someone can figure out a way to move just the monitor and not everything else with it...
If you've got a feature request, you should contact Adobe on their web site. (They're likely developing the next version now, so it's a good time to do so!)
This is a user-to-user help forum. We can't do anything about the interface itself. (And, yes, breaking it into a timeline and everything else is really the only option for version 11.) -
When trying to delete photos from my iphone 5, there is no trash can at the bottom, only two boxes one says share the other add to. So how do you delete photos
he only photos that would have the trash can are those that you take with the iPhone camera. Other photos are handled through the sync process in iTunes.

Bridge CS3 & ACR with dual monitors
Question: In a dual-monitor Windows XP setup, how do I control which monitor ACR opens on when opened from Bridge?
Background: In my workflow, I use Bridge to open small batches of DNGs in ACR. What I want is to have Bridge on monitor #2 (uncalibrated), but have ACR open on monitor #1 (calibrated). At first I had Bridge opening on #1 and couldn't get ACR to open on #2. Then I figured out how to move ACR to #2, but now it always opens on #2, regardless of where Bridge is. How to fix?
Thanks,
AndrewOkay, I think I've figured out how this works, although (1) the way it appears to function is exactly opposite to how I think it should function, and (2) I still can't figure out how to fix it.
If I open ACR from Bridge on the primary monitor (#1 for short, as designated in Windows XP), ACR will open on the primary monitor by default. If I leave Bridge on the primary monitor but move ACR to the secondary monitor (#2 for short), ACR will continue to open on #2. If, however, I move Bridge to #2, there is no way to get ACR to open on #1; no matter what I do, it will always open on #2. If I then move Bridge back to #1, ACR might open on either monitor. If it continues then to open on #2 the only way to force it to move back to #1 is to open Photoshop on #1 and then open ACR from Photoshop.
First of all, it's stupid that I can't tell ACR to open wherever I want it to. But it is particularly stupid that one cannot make ACR open on #1 unless Bridge is also open on #1. The reason is that Windows XP only has native support for color calibration on the primary monitor (#1). If I'm using Bridge and ACR next to each other, I naturally care more about color calibration in ACR, where I'm actually editing photos, than I do in Bridge. Yet it is impossible to get ACR to open on the calibrated monitor! This can only be described as a bug, albeit one that won't get fixed due to the age of XP and CS3.
(Yes, I am aware that Microsoft makes a control-panel plugin that supposedly allows calibration of both monitors, but I have been unable to get it to work correctly. By all accounts it is somewhat fragile, doesn't offer support for all dual-monitor graphics cards, there isn't a list of cards it does and doesn't support, and Microsoft doesn't even offer support for the plugin. Way to go, Microsoft.) -
IPhoto crashing when trying to delete photos
I have about 122,000 photos in my trash folder within iphoto. I know, I know, I shouldn't have that many. Actually I didn't know that they were being collected in my trash folder when I deleted photos in iphoto.
Now the problem I am having is that iphoto crashes every time I try to empty trash iphoto crashes. I am attaching the dump file. Any help would be very much appreciated

My iPad 3 is busily uploading all my stuff to iCloud Photo Library Beta. When it is done, is it safe to delete albums from my iPad? I need to release more storage space. And when I want to find my photos in iCloud, how do I do that?
Icloud Photo Library is not an Archive. If you delete photos from your device they will also be deleted from the iCloud Photo library.

Intermittent screen flash in dual monitor mode?
I've developed an interesting problem - A few months back there existed some fault with kde's treatment of the xf86-video-ati drivers which meant that, if you had compositing enabled, it would randomly segfault and die. This was slightly irritating.
So, recently, In an act of pure, stupid, and uninformed optimism, I decided to see what would happen if I just asked pacman to upgrade me to the latest version of kde (In case the problem from before has been fixed - for comedic effect).
This went predictably badly, although the fault in question does appear to have been fixed. However, as part of it's dependencies the new kde brought in new ATI drivers, and somewhere along the way an entirely new and exciting fault that causes my secondary monitor's image to flash to black for about 1 second in 7 has been picked up.
From my own investigating/googling so far, I've determined this is something to do with KMS and my display drivers. The flashing persists even in text mode, but only affects the secondary screen (The other one works fine). If I add nomodeset to my grub kernel boot line then the flashing ceases in text mode, but Xorg segfaults when I try and start it.
Has anyone else encountered this particular fault? Any advice on how to fix it?
Thanks! Thanks for working that out, but I'm still horribly confused. I've been tinkering with things today to improve my boot speed (new kernel, messing with module loading and so on), and the problem seems to have gone away by itself. I have at no stage had anything to do with upower (it hasn't been installed).
How perplexing.
Anyway, problem solved, thanks everyone, and well done Sayo for working out the problem! (Even if it appears that MY problem was unrelated ) -
Outlook 2010 sounds and Dual Monitor Mode
Every time I hook up a monitor (analog connector) to my laptop (lacks a digital monitor port), I lose system sounds only in Outlook 2010. I'm running Vista 64-bit. Other applications make system sounds, like Internet Explorer and Windows Media plays media just fine, but not Outlook 2010 (I had 2003 before, and didn't have a problem - it's only when I updated to 2010 that I ran into the problem). There is one time the sounds will play - right before I receive in my system tray a notification that there are 'critical updates' to be made to my system.
I tried turning off the monitor, but leaving it connected. Still no sound. It cannot be connected to my laptop for the sound rules to work in Outlook 2010.
I've gone to the Microsoft site and checked out all their recommendations. They don't have anything that comes close to addressing this (that I found). I figure that it is probably on the Outlook 2010 side, but am hitting a wall there. Figured I'd try here, where the hardware sits to fish for others' experiences.
Thanks... ...,it started experiencing a perpetual Send/Receive mode and when this started, only outgoing emails have been possible.
So your Outlook will send out but not receive? Have you checked your email on the web based access?
Are you able to see any unread messages there? If you can, then it is most likely a setting in Outlook, or possibly a port is blocked on your network. Try to check if your incoming settings are correct in Outlook, you might want to contact your ISP
for the info.

IPhoto cant switch monitor profiles in dual monitor mode
Hi,
my problem is that i am using iPhoto 6 (newest version) with the internal screen of my macbook and an external screen. Both are calibrated. Most programms like Photoshop or Capture one or Aperture switch the profiles of the monitors while going from one to another. You can see that, it just takes half a second and the correct color is displayed. iPhoto seems to be not capable of that feature. It stays all the time with the profile of the main monitor selected in ColorSync.
Does anybody else notice this or am i the only one?
The Apple Care Hotline couldnt help at all...
Btw. It is exactly the same problem with Safari.
Cheers
AxelThank you Terence for your reply.
I think you are right. But nevertheless I need to know what I am dealing with. Sometimes I am just not sure wether running on the correct profile or not. That makes work sometimes a bit difficult.
Also I am angry because it took me a few days and a thousend nervs to find out what the problem is. Apple doesnt know of this program as far as they told me. I wonder if this is a known "bug" or if this should not be the way it is. Maybe these programs are usually able to switch the profiles. I just dont know. That is what I want to know.
Cheers

Audio stops halfway when encoding to .flv in AME
Hi there, I have a .mov file that works perfectly when I play it in quicktime. But when I encode it to .flv (settings "same as source") and play it in Flash or Adobe AIR. The sound cuts out halfway. I tried changing bitraid settings and even changing
