Bridge cc uses older version of photoshop
i just installed adobe bridge cc and it keeps trying to open images with an older version (uninstalled) of photoshop. I tried to uninstall and reinstall bridge with no luck. Any suggestionjs?
Update on this issue:
Concerning Ps CS6 seizing Dominance:
I did try UNinstalling and then re-installing Ps CC 14.00 but Ps CS6 still retained "Dominance" (meaning that it was impossible to change System Permissions to recognise that all PSDs should always be opened from the Finder in Ps CC).
Finally I uninstalled Ps CS6 from this HD and now CC has established "Dominance".
Bridge CS6 was NOT removed from my HD when I uninstalled Ps CS6. (You need to keep Bridge CS6 until Adobe replaces the the AOM Panel in Bridge CC.)
Also, choosing the Default File Associations in Bridge CC, now correctly sets all Photoshop-related Associations to Ps CC instead of Ps CS6.

Do I need to uninstall older version of Photoshop first?
Nowhere in the FAQs or Install instrucitons, either the text or video install instructions, can I find any reference to the need or lack of the need, to uninstall an older version of Photoshop prior to downloading and installing the newer version. Specifically I will be upgrading from CS2 to CS5.
Should I then assume it is not necesary? And if so would it be wise once the upgrade is done, that then I should uninstall CS2?

Forgot to mention I am using an older but competant desktop which funtions fine using CS2. Windows 32 bit, XP Sp3 Home Edition, 2.56GB RAM.There is no need to uninstall CS2 before or after. You might find that some things are easier to do in CS2, creating PDF presentations etc. (now moved to Bridge)

Files Created in Photoshop CC Not Compatable With Older Versions of Photoshop?
I have heard that the new Photoshop CC uses a new file system that is not compatible with older versions of Photoshop so you can only edit them in the new Cloud version of Photoshop CC. Is this true?
i opened a fine in PSCS 13.1.2.I edited it a bit, converted a layer to a SO and used liquify on that layer.
I saved it as a tiff. Did not try it as a psd.
PSCS5 opened the tiff without complaint, including the SO+liquified layer. When i clicked on the liquify at bottom of the SO layer to try to edit it I got the notice "CANNOT FIND THE FILE", or something like that.
So, I guess pscs5 is already done for.

Removing older versions of Photoshop Elements.
Need assistance removing older versions of Photoshop Elements. Tried Contol Panel......will not permit uninstall. Says that it is open, but not open from what I can determine. Tried to uninstall Elelents 9 and it says it is not there. Tried Elements 10 and it says error 1316......

16 bit depth photo restoration, older version of Photoshop.
I use an older version of Photoshop. It is able to import and read a 16 bit depth file. Though it is limited in what it can do with this bit depth, it can do the levels and curves adjustments on an image. I want to have the best quality scan to start with for photo restoration in my older Photoshop. I won't be able to directly import the file with my older Photoshop from the scanner. If I scan a photo as a 16 bit 600 ppi image, I'm afraid color information will be lost when I open it in the older Photoshop. Is there any way I can open and save such a file without losing all that good color information? I know I would need to save it in a format that supports 16 bit depth like png versus jpeg.
Not exactly sure how Image Capture works on lion, but i belive i read that since os x 10.5 that it should scan in 16 bits/channel
Are you able to use the software that came with the scanner instead of Image Capture or maybe you need to update your scanner software or
possibly check the preference in the Image Capture scanner preferences to use Twain Software When Possible.
Or scanner software like VueScan which is much better than most software that ships with scanners.

Anyway if the scan is saved as a 16 bits/channel tif as output by the scanner to a place (folder) on your hard drive, then ps7 should open it as such. -
Why did my install of an older version of Photoshop Elements fail?
I tried to install a 2001 version of Photoshop Elements, but it failed to install stating that "Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later is Required." I have Windows 7, so therefore I should have at least Internet Explorer 9. Also when I tried to install it on my MAC it also failed stating that "Install failed because Classic Mode is no longer supported." So why can't I install this program on my MAC or Windows 7?
I just bought this off eBay hoping to score a deal on an older program to use and get familiar with before installing a newer version and finding out I didn't like it or it wouldn't meet my needs. Any help in this manner is appreciated. Thanks in advance.Hi,
First off, you must be referring to a very old version of Photoshop Elements, not even sure it is version 1. Learning that will not help you very much when you try to go for the latest version - it will be like starting again.
The old version did not know anything of the later versions of Internet Explorer and the installer gets confused. You can trick it by doing some registry edits (see following document) but I strongly advise against it unless you are very competent with computers. Get things wrong and you could kill your system.
Photoshop Elements (PSE) knowledge base.
In addition to the level of Internet Explorer, you will run into problems if you have large disk drives.
I'm not a MAC expert but the older versions of Photoshop Elements were designed to run on PowerPC-based computers and will not run on systems later than MAC OS 10.6.x.
If you are serious about getting to know Photoshop Elements, the best thing is to get the latest trial version. Download that and install it and you can try it for 30 days. If you decide you like it, then you could look out for bargains at your local store or online.

I have an older version of photoshop and now it is asking me for an unlock code to view my pictures.. I did that years ago when I first started using it and have not had a problem. I am trying to get pics onto a flas drive or online photoshop and it is not letting me. Any one have any suggestions?
Photoshop files and any image files are stored on your hard drive, not in the program. You can get to the files on your file manager just by searching.
As for the "unlock code" that would most likely be the serial number. What version of Photoshop are you running? You would have to find the package it came in. If by chance you registered your copy with Adobe, it should be under your account. -

No CD, but you can download the installation files if you have the serial number, and the previous install has been deactivated

I have removed all iphoto files and avatars as one person has suggested. I am suppose to reinstall iPhoto using the discs that came with the computer.
