Bridge CC won't Hide instead of Exit

I just installed Bridge CC under Win 7 64-bit. I also have Bridge CS6 installed. Unlike the CS6 version, CC is missing the Hide item from the File menu, and also doesn't open an icon in the Windows systray. If I use the Start at Login option, Bridge just launches in an open window - not even minimized.
Anyone know why this is and what to do to fix it? Please don't suggest that I uninstall Bridge CS6, unless you have first-hand knowledge that that works. Thanks.

Have heard this before. Apparently with Bridge CC the Start at Lolgin option does not work as previous versions did. No workarounds have been offered.

Bridge CC won't launch from shortcut, from the Creative Cloud Apps, or when I go into the program files folder and try to open it from the application file directly. Have uninstalled and re-installed twice, have uninstalled and reinstalled Creative Cloud and PS too. Turned off all security including firewall, restarted (Windows 7) computer numerous times. I tried any fix I found in help or in in the forums, all to no avail. I do not get any error messages either. Could someone please help?

I forgot to mention that I also made sure my graphics card's driver was up to date and that any and all Windows updates were run. Thought I should mention that.

Muse dropdown menus won't "hide" in design phase

Suddenly (since downloading v3.0), when I'm in design mode, ALL of my dropdown menus are showing. Before, they'd do that every time I made a change to the menu, but I could go onto my master page and click a menu item that DIDN'T have a dropdown and they'd go away so that I could design without having them "in my face." But now, they're just there and I can't seem to get rid of them. Anyone else having this problem? Is there something I can do to hide the dropdowns while I'm designing?

I want the top menus to be horizontal, when I scroll over them, I want the sub menu to scroll down horizontally if there are more than one sub menu, it won’t do that.
All sub menus should drop down under the top menus so you can see three of them if there are there, four or five.
Currently if I have a top menu of five items each one has say three submenus under each top menu, when I scroll over the top menu the sub menu roll out horizontally and the other two don’t show up until I actually scroll over the one submenu then the other submenu pops out one at a time.
On top of all this the original post says menus won’t hide in design phase, making it all that much more frustrating.
For goodness sake “it it ain’t broke don’t fix it!” Don’t assume that if something is obvious to one person is obvious to everyone else.

Application Won't Hide

Can anyone tell me why the Hide menu item for an application is sometimes grayed out, i.e., not available? Often I try to hide an application (Safari, Mail, etc.) with Command-H but it won't hide and when I check the menu item "Application Name/Hide", the Hide item is grayed out. Sometimes if I Command-Tab through the open applications the Hide items becomes available but not always. Any explanation?

Go to System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse and click Keyboard Shortcuts. Have you by chance changed a keyboard shortcut using modifier keys that might override Command + H ??

Actually, no you're not. You're trying to load old programs on this computer - programs that are based around the old (dead?) Mac OS 9, not Mac OS X.
The main problem is that Mac OS X no longer comes with Mac OS 9. If you want to run Mac OS 9 applications you can, but you'll need to source a copy of Mac OS 9 and install that before you can. Off hand I don't know of any sources for Mac OS 9.x. Apple no longer sell it. eBay might be an option.
Either that, or just use Mac OS X applications. You'd probably prefer that anyway.
Finally, as an aside, this doesn't really have anything to do with AppleScript, so posting in the appropriate forum might get you better luck.

Illustrator won't run, instead AAM tries to run

When I try to run an application form CS6, e.g. Illustrator or InDesign, they won't. Instead the Adobe Application Manager tries to run, but hangs/freezes. I need to force-quit AAM, but then again, none of the CS apps won't run/start, and AAM tries to run again, and freezes and so on and so on.
How can I get my apps to run again (and get rid of AAM trying to run).

Solved it !!!
Restarted my iMac, and then reinstalled AAM.
Everything is working again.
(But still don't know why it went wrong in the first place, though)

Firefox 35 won't hide address and tab bar in full screen on OS X 10.10

Hi, when I put firefox full screen, I expect the address bar and tab bar to auto-hide. From google searching it seems like this was expected behavior some time ago. A pic -> 1000 words.

Nope, zero styles in Stylish currently, this is a new install. As well I've tried going full-screen with all addons disabled and I get the exact same result.

Ethernet Bridge for Powerbook Titanium G4 instead of Airport

I have a macintosh titanium G4 powerbook that can only take an airport card, not airport extreme. I decided instead that I should buy a ethernet bridge. Can I buy a bridge that will access the internet at 54 kbps and then use an ethernet wire to my laptop? If so, will this give me 802.11g speed? Can anyone recomend such a bridge (e.g. linksys)? Since you have a portable laptop (PowerBook), I would think a compatible 802.11g PCMCIA card would be the best solution.
Let's take a step back...
802.11b is probably faster than your internet connection. Therefore changing to 802.11g won't give you faster internet access.
802.11g will only increase the speed of large file transfers between computers on your network.

Bridge CS4 won't output to pdf multiple images with same filename

Hiya...my googling efforts have thus far failed!
I've got CS4, and in Bridge, I created a New Smart Collection to find all filenames in a folder containing "." or ".jpg" - which in turn searched through all the subfolders like what you used to be able to do in Photoshop CS3. Very simple stuff, but all the images are jpg's, but in multiple folders (I don't want to move them out of the folders, as the files came from an external source, and there are heaps of folders, and I don't want to pdf each subfolder seperately as it will take forever).
The problem is that some of the files have the same filenames (again I'd prefer not to rename, as it happens a lot on this project, and they are all over the place). So whilst Bridge will show the thumbnail images correctly in the content tabbed screen in my New Smart Collection, but once I've done the Output to PDF thing, for example, instead of showing both different images it has pdf only the first image but repeated it twice. And this happens multiple times throughout the pdf, the more times the same filename is used, the more times the first image gets repeated.
I know that it is messy to have multiple similar filenames, but why can't bridge just place the image anyway? It allocated a space for it on the pdf and does show it in bridge, it just doesn't seem to survive the transfer to pdf well.
The only other thing that I have done is use the below link (which was posted on another adobe forum thread) to create a custom pdf output template (nothing too fancy, just number of rows / columns, size, font etc). But I've tried using the standard bridge templates and it does the same thing.

Just to let you know that I seem to have resolved the bug inadvertently with one of the Adobe updates. The below is the link for the AdobeOutputModule-2.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.zip which was released on 2/19/2009 - which allows for headers & footers to be placed in the Ouput pdf. I finally installed it today, and everything seems to be working fine now (i.e. I can pdf multiple images with the same filenames and the pdf will actually show each different image rather than repeating only 1 of the images).
Must have been a fix installed in the contact sheet templates that get installed with the update - not sure why the original version was corrupted, but I've left that with the Adobe guys (I submitted a bug report - and they were able to replicate the problem but hadn't fixed it as yet).

When I click import from disc I am asked to choose a disc and then I get this message:
The following photos will not be imported because they are already present in the catalog. To see these photos in the catalog select 'Show in Library' (the import will be canceled).
This is followed by a long list of images. If I click 'Show in Library' I can see all the images with the same filename. And then they start to automatically write over those images with images from the disc. However they keep the same metadata and keywords from the previous images. If I click on Import and deselect the "don't reimport suspected duplicates" box, it imports only the images that don't share filenames and none of the images that do.
Is there a way of setting the "Don't reimport suspected duplicates" box in preferences?

Jinternalframe won't hide more than once.

i have a jinternalframe and when i click the close button it hides, but if i show it again and then try to click the close button it doesn't hide. the following code demonstrates the problem - click open then the x to close the internalframe then open again and try to hide the frame. nb i am using jdk1.2.2, i'm not sure if it happens in jdk1.3, but i could really do with a workaround for this...anyone got one?

With the CS6 Beta, I cannot get into Bridge CS6. Bridge CS5 keeps coming up instead.

How do I get Bridge CS6??? Even if I go to the folder with Bridge CS6 and try to activate it from the command line, Bridge CS5 comes up. What am I doing wrong

Please make sure Br CS5 is not running in background (it is active and minimized to system tray)
In Windows, right-click the Bridge CS5 icon in the Notification Area of the Start Bar in Windows, and choose Exit Bridge. If you still cannot close Bridge, open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete. In Task Manager, choose Bridge and select End Task.
In Mac OS, Ctrl-click the Bridge CS5 icon in the dock and choose Quit.
Now try accessing Br CS6 it would work.

Bridge CS4 won't open to Photoshop CS5 out of Camera Raw?

I use Bridge CS4 because I prefer it to bridge CS5 but when I edit images in ACR in bridge cs4 and click 'Open Image' I want it to open automatically in PS CS5 and instead it opens always into PS CS4. In preferences>file type associations, everything is set to CS5 so I don't know how to direct opening images from ACR to open in photoshop CS5 not CS4. I've had it working on a different system but I don't remember what I did to get it to work.

Uh huh...and why would you expect CS5 to open the image from Bridge CS4? You haven't stated why you are trying to use Bridge CS4, but as you've found out, that is not an optimal solution....(BTW, troubleshooting 101 dictates that you at least mention what platform and OS you are using).

LR won't install due to exit code 7

I have LR 3 installed and now I joined CC and it won't finish install, I just keep getting this error message.
Any ideas? It downloaded and installed PS okay so far.

Dock won't hide/show after Tiger security update

I installed the Dec 27 Tiger security update last night (via SW update) and now the dock is behaving badly. I had it set to automatically show/hide, but it would not show anymore after the update. I always install sec updates, so I did also do the previous one without any problems.
So far I've done this to try to solve the problem:
- I changed the settings to turn hiding off and the doc appears and works correctly in that mode. The only problem with it seems to be that it won't show after it hides with hiding turned on.
- I repaired permissions
- I shut down and restarted
- I did a safe-mode restart and a regular restart
- I trashed my doc preferences, restarted, and recreated the configuration of items I like.
- I tried removing the preference called /Library/Preferences/com.apple.dockfixup.plist which had no effect, so I put it back. (It's dated 2006 but I have no further info about it.)
Also, oddly, it seems that my system menus are strictly pull-down now. I am almost sure they had some drop-down behavior before, because I keep clicking on main menu items expecting the submenu to persist, and it doesn't. If I'm not imagining this, perhaps the two issues are related?
I don't have any system mods or Finder replacement apps.
Are there any other dock-related files that I could replace from my backup to try to fix this issue?
Did the update do something specifically to change the dock?
I really hate to reinstall and reupdate from scratch to fix such a minor problem, but it is 100% annoying. Ideas and commiseration welcome.

New info:
I discovered this morning that both of these problems do not occur with my Contour mouse, only with the Logitech trackball. The trackball has a brand new problem at startup today, which is that it acts like it's constantly right-button-down. It selects only.
So perhaps its a driver or mouse hardware issue. I think it's suspicious that it started immediately after the update, but since the trackball did not come with a driver, I am not sure I can further troubleshoot it myself. I'll dig around in the system and on the net a bit to see, but I'm probably going to buy another pointing device in order to resolve this. The trackball is only about 2 months old, but maybe it's filled up with cat hair. ... There's a joke in there somewhere.
