Bridge, changing key commands?

Bridge, can you change the key commands?   Would like to change com-E (eject)  to a different command.
Thanks Andrew

Don't think changing shortcuts is an option.

  • Changed Key command - Tie Regions By Position Change

This is my 3rd post - Is there no one else here who depended on "Tie Regions By Position Change" & finds the new version "Shuffle regions left within selection" unpredictable & unusable, with regions that shouldn't jumping to the right ?

It doesnt work as expected for me, with 5 or 6 regions it does but when i want to buffer 40 or so regions , up against each other, several have jumped to unpredictable positions . (i'm doing lots of editing of interviews )

  • What is the default key command for the COMMAND key?I seem to have changed it somehow along the way and now when I push the command key it hides all windows or shows desk top I need to correct this as soon as possible-.any ideas?

What is the default key command for THE COMMAND (apple) key? I seem to have changed it somehow along the way and now when I push the command key (only) it hides all open windows and shows the desk top and when I push it again it shows all windows again...I need to return to default A.S.A.P. just this one key...Any ideas? Thanks in advance...

    Go to
     > System Preferences > Keyboard
Click on the 'Keyboard' tab and hit the 'modifier keys...' button. You can see and change the defaults there.
As I'm not sure if all the labels are the same in Lion, he's a screenshot from Snow Leopard. It should be similar enough:

  • Can a key command send a program change message to a AU Synth?

I know you can do it to scroll the presets of the logic presets, but can you set up a key command to change the sound on eg Korg Legacy Collection?

    I don't think so.
But you may utilize the capslock keyboard.
Just transform in the environment its note on messages into program changes.

  • Key commands changed

What has happened in Logic 9 to the key command "Tie Regions By Position Change" . I have imported my Logic 8 Key commands & several have changed but I constantly use this key command. Can anyone help ?

No I spoke too soon, it's been a nightmare. With 3 or 4 regions it works in a predictable way, but larger than that I can't predict what its doing. Regions jump to new positions that I dont want.
I do lots of editing of tracks not synced to Logic, I put lots of regions in the order I want them, (on a track in the arrange page). With "Tie regions by position change" they kept in the same order of there start position but in one go buffered up next to each other.
Using "Shuffle regions left within selection" with lots of regions, jumps some regions several places to the right & each press can further shuffle the regions
But if I go back to Logic 8 the key command applies to "Tie regions by position change" & it behaves as expected

  • Some Logic key commands cannot be changed or???

    Hi!
Now i know that Logic copyng region when i drag it by holding Option key
So how i can reassign this key (to command key for example)?
I cant find this command in commands list
    Please help!

    You can't.
Logic's key commands are only re-configurable to within certain limits.
OPT+dragging to make a copy of something is a standard Mac way of doing things. This can't be changed.

  • Tab-switching key commands randomly changed!

I recently started a fresh OS install on this 2-year-old MacBook, and for the entire time so far I've been able to switch between Tabs by using Shift-Cmd-[ and Shift-Cmd-]. All of a sudden, about half an hour ago, it stopped responding to those key commands and now only responds to Ctl-Tab and Shift-Ctl-Tab. Any idea why it did this, or more importantly, any idea of how to make the old key commands work again?

Not a problem in the Adobe software. Something is wrong with your input devices or you have something on your system that instates global, system-wide shortcuts that may conflict with application specific ones. You need to figure out what it is.

  • Close one tab at a time with key commands

    Hi all,
I'm a big key command guy. I think I've figured out most things so I rarely have to go for the trackball and leave the keyboard.
But recently (I think since an upgrade to Safari, but I can't be 100% sure), my previous command-W that used to close the frontmost tab now closes the entire window...bummed! How do I get my key command back?
    Thanks all.

Start with resetting all shortcuts to their defaults, restarting, and see if that fixes the problem. As I said, it works here w/o any changes made, so I suspect you or some other app mucked things up.

  • What is the new key command to re-record a track- and delete the old one?

It used to be the - (minus) button on logic pro 7. I haven't been able to find it in the new one. or in the pdf manual. Anybody know of hand?
    thank you

Open the Key Command window. Choose any command. Hit the learn button and type in the command. A message will appear telling you what the command is already assigned to. Then you can change it.

  • Key commands not showing up in KC window

Today I decided to attempt to get to the bottom of this problem. Since installing 7.1 my key commands are next to useless in terms of having the assigned commands show up in the key command window. Some of the commands show up when the relevent key is pressed but many don't. For instance, I have the letter "R" assigned to "repeat objects", when I press the "R" key nothing shows up in the KC window. If I reassign "repeat objects" to the "Q" key then when I press the "Q" key nothing shows up. Conversely if I assign the "R" key to "destructive quantise" then it does show up. IOW, if I assign any key to "repeat objects" the assigned key never shows up as highlighted in the KC window. This same behaviour shows up for many keys.
I installed on a fresh partition: 10,4,2, Logic7.1, Pro runtime app and find the exact same results. I've tried switching keyboard layouts from UK to American to German - no change.
Can anyone confirm that "repeat objects" shows up as highlighted when the relevent key is pressed in the KC wondow?
    Cheers.

    Hi RajShekhar,
This KF that you have added as an attribute to a char will not be available in the Key Figure section. Open the dimensions and find the char for which you created this attribute. Open up the attributes under it and you should find the KF. If you need to use this KF value in a calculation, then you will need to create a formula variable to pull in its value.
    Hope this helps...

  • Key Command for Selecting All in Stack?

    - Hi, I'm wondering if there is a key command that I missed that allows you to select all items in a stack when it is collapsed?
I'm mostly using Bridge for the Stacks feature. I actually prefer to use cataloging programs for DAM. But shooting HDR, stacks are a must!
But when I want to do things with the images in a stack, such as deleting them all, opening in Photoshop (individually or to merge), etc., it only selects the top image by default.
I must be missing something. It's a drag to have to open/close all the time.
And a separate but related issue:
    - Does anyone know why all stacks are removed when you do a Batch Rename on a set of photos?
I let Photoshop churn for 30min. + on the 'combine HDR/Panorama into stacks' command. Got all my HDR sets grouped nicely as stacks. Then decided to batch rename them and presto - no more stacks! Had to do it all over again!!!

    Hi Kenny,
To apply a command to all photos in a collapsed stack, you must select them all by clicking the stack border, not the top image. See
Stack files in Bridge Community Help.
I'm not sure about the batch rename issue that you describe. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

  • Preview.app crashes whenever I use a key command

I've had this very annoying problem for quite a while now, and so far I haven't been able to find a solution for it.
Whenever I use a key command in Preview.app it either freezes or crashes or both. I can use all the menu options, just not trigger them with a key command.
So I can use the app just fine, just so long as I remember to not use the key commands, but it's just that having been using apple key commands since 1986 it's really hard to not acidentally hit any of them while in Preview.app, and every so often I accidentally do … sometimes losing unsaved changes in the process.
I'm not sure when the problem first occurred, but it dates back to Lion at least and it's still there in Mountain Lion as well.
I thought it might be some extension or some background app clashing with Preview.app, but when starting up holding shift the problem remains.
And the problem is local to my user account only, and Preview.app works just fine in other user accounts.
So I figured I'd just trash the Preview.app prefs and all would be well, but no go. Unless there are some more hidden prefs of some kind that I don't know about.
So, something local to my user account only screws up key commands in Preview.app only, and I can't figure out what or how to solve it.
I may end up having to migrate the contents and settings of my account to a new user account to solve this, but that soundsa lot like surrendering doesn't it? ;-)
And I thought I'd give it one more try to figure this out before I put myself through a migration process. ;-)
    Ideas anyone?

    Ha! Fixed it!
Kept reading all "Preview+plist" threads and found this one: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17195650#17195650
And sure enough, trashing ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Preview/ reset the preferences for Preview.app and now all key commands work without crashing.
But if erasing that folder, and more importantly the plist in it, did reset the preferences, that would suggest the preferences were being saved there. So I now changed the prefs and quit the app, and then trashed the containers folder again, and restarted the app. But strangely the prefs remained. So I thought, well if the prefs were being stored there, maybe erasing that plist made Preview reinstate the regular plist in the regular Preferences folder? But no go, as there's still no regular Preview plist in the regular Preferences folder.
So now, there's no regular plist, and erasing the Containers folder no longer resets the prefs, but changes to prefs are still being saved somewhere … so where the **** are they being saved now? It's like they just keep burrowing down further into the ground with every attempt to erase them. What the **** is going on? ;-)
Anyways, the initial problem is solved, so … maybe I should just let the mystery remain? ;-)

  • Mac Overrides Key Commands?

    Mac Pro 3.1, 16-GB Ram, OS 10.6.8, CS6 Extended
I notice trhat recently hitting Key Commands in Photoshop like Command-M  minimizes my open window to the dock instead of opening Curves? This used to work. The Keyborad Shortcuts as set in Photoshop correctly, but it is ignoring them and using the Finder shortcut instead?
    Anuyy ideas?

    choreo,
You may not like what I'm about to tell you, but it is the absolute truth:
I just went to Photoshop 13 ("CS6") on my machine running under Snow Leopard, and pressed Command+M, which immediately brought up the Curves adjustment dialog box.

  • Key command for "undo" not customizable anymore?

    Hi!
In the LP8 manual the key cmd. for "undo" is claimed to be exchangeable by the user, but it is not (dimmed).
I used to set it to <cmd.-y) - similar to protools, because <cmd.-z> is a rel cripple grip.
it still works with importing my old LP7 prefs, but is reset to <cmd.-z> each time I launch LP8 again.
    Help!
    cheers!

Apple probably made this move because it's universal among all of Apple's apps (and generally accepted throughout most applications for the Mac).
hm - final cut's key commands are fully custumizable, too (at least until FCP5) wich is an apple app even more than logic.
an other reason might be this: when setting for example <y> for undo in LP7, you can't use the y in the save-as.. dialog box for naming anymore, because the y will be interpreted as undo. that's why I chose <cmd.-y>.
and why restricting only the system shortcuts if there was the "danger" of getting too familiar with those, what about "stop", "play", "rew", "mute", "solo", "divide", etc.? those commands exist in other apple apps as well.
I must admit, that I am just too clumsy for typing <cmd.-z> on a german keyboard more than twice a month. but my editing temper requires a lot more.
where to get detailed instructions for changing the system shortcuts in general?
    cheers!
