Bridge CS 4: how to export collections

Hi all!
I`d like to work on several Computers with one and the same external fat32 drive. How can I export the collections ?! Or have I overseen any great cs 4 feature that makes it easier to work on one project with several stations ?! Which are not necessarily connected with each other )-:

I have no idea if this is working but you can give it a try:
go to the user library/Application support/Adobe/BridgeCS4/Collections and in here find the collection file you want and copy it to the same location on the other user library.
As said, it is a wild guess but if it works you might want to ad a feature request for this option using the link for this forum on top of this forumpage :-)

A collection is a bunch of aliases to the original files in their original place. If you have upgraded to CC on the same machine you can use the same collection, on a different machine it will possible not find the correct location again.
On a Mac the path for the saved collections is : User / library/ application Support / Adobe/ BridgeCS6 / collections. Inhere are the saved collections showing the names you gave them. You can copy these collection files to the same location in Bridge CC.
If you have a different machine you best first choose the collection and add a keyword with the name of the collection to all the files in this particular collection so you can use the find command to easily recreate the collection on your new machine.
Maybe someone with more knowledge of Windows can show you the correct path but it should be something similar as on a Mac.

I cannot seem to figure out how to export the pictures I have worked on. I create a collection and when I export them they go to "my pictures" as the originals --NOT the cropped and edited versions. Help!!!

Are you sure you are looking at the exported photos and not the original photos, when you say you don't see the cropping and editing?
If so, then you are probably exporting with Image Format set to "Original" and you probably want to set it to JPG or TIF

Use a Java API which can create PDF files based on some collection of plain vanilla Java objects (List, String, Number, etc).
Google can find them all. Just feed it with something like "Java PDF API" or so. A commonly used one is iText.
That said, when talking about this in JSP context, ensure that you do NOT write raw Java code in JSP files using scriptlets. Raw Java code belongs in Java classes. In such case you need a Servlet. In JSP just use taglibs and EL to interact with backend Java code and data. Scriptlets are discouraged since over a decade.

if your both farm are on same version level then you can use export & import funcation if only Document library required.
Perform export on source farm

copy the files to target farm and run the import.

another way is backup the site collection from source and restore it to destination.

ADF TUTORIAL: PROBLEMS WITH "Export Collection Action Listener"

tutorial: Developing Ajax-Based User Interfaces with JSF: An Introduction to ADF Faces Rich Client Components

until the step "working with menus" works everthing fine. after i added the collection action listener and saved my work, the webapplication will not open. i see only a blank page and no error message.
when i delete the action listener works everything fine again.
how can i fix this issue? thx to everyone.

I'm not sure if this is going to help anyone , but if you're stuck at that point of the tutorial , try to drop the "Export Collection Action Listener" onto the menuItem "Export To Excel" not under it;
So the xml under the source tab should look something like this :

Adobe Bridge CC (Mac) isn't showing collections generated in Bridge CS6

Opening Adobe Bridge CC doesn't show the collections I generated in Adobe Bridge CS6. Both versions of Bridge are on the same Mac and opened within the same User account (of the operating system). In Bridge CS6 (which seems to not open while running Bridge CC) still shows the collections and smart collections.
Question:
Is there any way to import these collections or is there another way to show those collections in Bridge CC?

Collections are version and user specific. If you want them also in CC you have to copy the collection files manually from CS6 to CC
Open two windows in your finder. Go to the user library (per OSX10.7 hidden by default, use menu Go with option to reveal) and follow this path:
user (your username)/ Library/ Application Support / Adobe/ Bridge CS6 / Collections. inhere should be some files with your saved collection names and the extension .filelist
Copy these to the same location but now instead of CS6 CC.
This should make you collections also available in Bridge CC after restarting it.
Be careful to depend on collections, they are not all that reliable for the long run. If you have put a lot of work in one collection then select all and add the name of the collection also as a keyword to the files itself, this way you have a good back up when things go wrong

The file or clipboard contents will be in Tab Separated vars, so you'll have to open with a spreadsheet program and save as Comma Separated Vars format.

for Beginners in SSMS after the report is created , how to export the same report to excel, I did try the option to task and export and follow the procedure, this procedure does not export the same report, the one was created, unless I am missing some steps,

GIF is a color restricted format with on/off support for transparency. There's really no settings you can tweak to output a better GIF. You have a drop-down during GIF sequence export to allow transparency, select the amount of colors (up to 256) and you can choose dither to save a little filespace. The only 2 things in there that really matter are dither and amount of colors used to export.
If your content is very similar (e.g. not a lot of complex gradients/shadows/etc) and is limited in color use turning down the amount of colors used and dithering is your only option.
Make sure you're exporting the GIF via "Publish Settings" so you get a single animated GIF and not file->export->movie because this creates a separate sequence of GIF images for each frame.

Create a control file like "rfcdes_export.ctl"

Take the export :
R3trans -w rfcdes_export.log rfcdes_export.ctl
Create the control file "rfc_import.ctl"
import
file '/usr/sap/data/export_rfc.dat'
Import it:
R3trans -w rfc_import.log -u 1268 rfc_import.ctl
