Bridge CS4-is there a vertical film strip option similar to the one in CS3?

If there is a vertical film strip option in Bridge CS4, I have not been able to find it.

What I did seemed fairly straigntforward: Drag the Content tab from its bottom location up next to the Preview tab, so that Content and Preview are in the same panel. Move the right edge of the Preview/Content panel to the left to create a place for the content (film strip). Then drag the Content tab into this new space at the right; adjust panel width and preview size to suit.

You can't. Any version before Creative Cloud does not support high-DPI displays and that is just that. If you cannot adjust the system's screen resolution and so on, then there is nothing you can do.

Try a reset (click on that down pointing arrow) and also if you have a Mac, toggle the green resize button. It usually forces Bridge to resize to the screen.
If worse comes to worse, reset Bridge's Preferences as explained here: Troubleshoot errors, freezes | Adobe Bridge | Windows, Mac OS
When I use a external larger monitor, I select just that monitor.

Has anyone experience a problem with not being able to add a drumbeat loop to a prerecorded project? When I open the loop browser, there are only a few options available. The rest are greyed out. I can only choose individual drum sounds, not full beats

I have created a project and recorded 2 tracks, one with a guitar and the other vocals. I would like to add a drum loop, but when I pull up the loop browser, all of the normal selections aren't available. Some are greyed out, including "Beats". "All Drums" is available, but when I click on it it pulls up some cymbal sounds only. I've opened some old recordings in GB to see if this is a consistent issue, but it's not. Only this one project won't allow me to use drum loops. Which leads me to believe there is something I have selected or not selected within the project that's not allowing me to see all the loops. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hover curser over song and there's no arrow for options to add the song to a playlist, the song has to be played for the arrow to appear, which is then at the now playing part in the middle at the top of the screen

The little arrow which says "Play Next, Add to Up Next, Go to artist" etc. only appears at the top of the screen on the now playing part. On 11.2 on my laptop before it got refurbished, this arrow appeared when you hover the curser over the name of a song.
Bit annoying having to change the song everytime I want to add it to a playist etc. Is there any way I can make this arrow appear again by just hovering over the song name?

If it happens again the make sure that you aren't suppressing website colors.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

Is there a active record class similar to the one in codeigniter for java

I was wondering if there's a way to build sql statements in java similar to active record in codeigniter which is a PHP framework. Basically you call functions that builds your sql statements like so:
db.from('users');
db.select('id');
db.where('name', name);
results = db.get();
instead of something like this:
"select id from users where name='" + name + '";

Nope - the correct way is to use a prepared statement.

And I doubt that any of those would be true for non-trivial examples, for example a union with several complex clauses. And absolutely useless if you need a dba who is only a dba to help with your SQL.

I have just downloaded itunes on to a new laptop and when I have tried to tranfer the songs from my ipod on to it I was only able to tranfer the songs that i had purchased through itunes.
Is there any way of transfering the songs that are on my ipod the weren't purchased through itunes?

Ideally you would transfer you working library, or a backup of it, from your old computer to your new one. If that's not possible then...

I feel your pain. I am in charge of over 250 PCs and laptops. Flash Player stopped working for me after an update. I have been working on this issue non-stop since the middle of October, 2012. It's time-consuming, and even after applying the latest Flash update, it still doesn't work properly.
I am beyond frustrated! I have people calling me left and right saying that they can't access content. I have been using this site https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ to try and do a browser plug-in check while in IE an dFirefox. Even after I update all plug-ins, Flash still works about half the time.
For instance, the principal of the middle and high school wanted to view an online magazine http://upfront.scholastic.com/issues/12_10_12, about 3 pages load on this site. The rest continue to say LOADING. When I right-click on a page and then left-click on ABOUT ADOBE 11.5.502.110, it seems I am using the most up-to-date version for IE and Firefox.
Students are trying to access sumdog.com and stmath.com, both run using Flash. STMath is now working a bit better because I allowed some exceptions in our internet content filtering appliance, and in our firewall, sumdog still works half the time.
If Adobe is going to update their browser plug-ins, they need to test and retest before giving the public access. This situation is causing me a ton of problems!

When Firefox upgraded, it said I needed to install a newer version of Adobe. When I went to do that, I got a message that a plug-in was missing; something that needed to work with an xpi file. When I click on the link for that, it brought up some websites where you download the software, but it doesn't tell you how much it costs (only that you are purchasing the software).

No, not OK! There are big security holes in the last couple of versions. My favorite place to get the latest without the extra bullyware adobe tries to stick you with is Filehippo. Install both so IE is not vulnerable too.

When you watch a video on iPad, you need to use your hands sometimes to direct the sound towards you as you listen. The technology of Screen Speakers is already out there. Could it be integrated into the iPad? That would be great!

Apple does not pre-announce its future plans for product updates so we have no way of knowing what may be in the pipeline.
The iPad has a headphone socket for directing sound output straight to your ears via headphones.

Is there a way to query another database from the one I am in?

I have 4 company databases setup in SBO, and would like to generate several queries that list inventory on the other company databases, without having to log out or company A, then into company B list to check inventory. I have seen this done before, but cannot remember how to do it. I have tried the following without any luck:

Is there a way to restore your iPad from the one before the last backup, or every backup erases the previous one?

After 5 days, I have just received a replacement iPad.
Because I was in a hurry and without a adequate connection, I first restored it from the computer to get the apps and everything, intent with later restoring it from the cloud, where the latest backup was done.
When I tried to restore it from the cloud, I could not find the backup from 5 days ago but only the one done today.
Does one backup erases all previous ones? Is that information lost? If not, how can I retrieve it?

In the iTunes Summary screen, select "Encrypt iPhone backup" if you want to encrypt the information stored on your computer when iTunes makes a backup. Encrypted backups are indicated by a padlock icon, and a password is required to restore the information to iPhone. You may want to write down the password for your backup and store it in a safe place. If you use a Mac, when you set a password you can select to store the password in the keychain. With iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the iOS keychain backup to a new device if you encrypt the backup.
Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device.

Bridge CS4 freezes when I open a folder with avi files

Whenever I navigate to a folder with avi files, Bridge CS4 freezes. I have tried resetting my preferences, changing the file associations, but it still hangs. Both Windows and Bridge are set up to associate avi files with VLC Media Player. The files open and play just fine in VLC. I am running CS4 on a Win XP Pro machine. It used to not be a problem and I could play avi files in Bridge. I'm not sure when the problem started since I don't shoot a lot of video. Any ideas?

Thx for that im gonna try it....but is there a way to do it without using toolbar or cmd-c...? i mean using only the mouse?why does it have to highlight the file even though i click a bit next to it....?using icon view i can right click next to the folder and i wont have a problem but with list view that i prefer using it will highlight the whole row.....and i dont find free space to right click cause i got many files

Why not use Bridge CS4 with PsCS3?

I will post this on both the Bridge and Ps User-to-User forums as it applies to both.
I have PsCS3 and PsCS4 installed side by side in the default folders assigned by Adobe but have shifted my Bridge CS4 Cache (containing all the thumbnails and previews) from C:Documents and Settings\etc to a subfolder within My Documents, which I had previously moved to my F: drive - my main data drive.
I have found Bridge CS4 to be much more stable than Bridge CS3. Additionally, Bridge CS4 has certain features which make it more attractive and easier to use than Bridge CS3. I want to use Bridge CS4 in conjunction with PsCS3 until Adobe has sorted out the problems with PsCS4 - which at the moment is simply unuseable on my rather old and humble system.
On my system, I seem to be able to use Bridge CS4 with PsCS3 without any problems detected so far. I even have things set up such that any JPEG, TIFF or PSD file double clicked within Bridge CS4 or within Windows Explorer (Win XP Pro SP3) automatically opens the file in PsCS3 and not PsCS4 (provided, of course, that PsCS4 is not itself already running). Furthermore, even with PsCS3 running beside Bridge CS4, from within Bridge CS4 I can open any RAW, JPEG or TIFF file in Camera Raw 5.1 and use its new features (Adjustment Brush, Graduated Filter, extra vignetting capabilities, etcetera) which were not available in the last release of Camera Raw (4.6 I think) associated with PsCS3. The only problem comes when trying to open edits made in Camera Raw 5.1 in PsCS3 using the "Open Image" button in ACR - it does nothing/won't work, this is, it won't open the image with the ACR adjustments in PsCS3. That's not a big deal for me - as I am currently not doing any work within ACR (any version) and if I needed to I could simply save the ACR edits and then open the files in PsCS4, save the files as PSDs and then open them in PsCS3 to finalise them there.
Has anyone else had a similar experience, or does anyone else know of any reason(s) why I should not continue to use this workflow, at least in the short term?
