  • Bridge CS5.1 - Missing info in FILMSTRIP mode

For some reason the information that used to be availble to see and use (file name and ability to give star ratings to multiple files at once) is now missing from my Bridge CS5.1 (see attached file).  It was working just fine last week but now no.  I installed that latest patch to bring it to v. 4.1.0.54 but that didn't fix the problem.  I've tried to see if there is a way to get them back - like maybe I hit some odd key command that made it all go away but I've been unable to get anywhere.  Can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tony

like maybe I hit some odd key command that made it all go away but I've been unable to get anywhere.
Yes that is the case, you accidentally must have hit the cmd + T key and now you have set Bridge to show only thumbnails.
Under the menu view you will see a checkmark in front of the option: "show thumbnail only" . Click on it again to deselect or hit again cmd + T (on a Mac) and you get back to the normal situation

  • Using Bridge CS5 exporting to flickr get error message "Unable to connect to Flickr, please check your internet connection and try again."?

using Bridge CS5 to exporting to flickr, but get error message "Unable to connect to Flickr, please check your internet connection and try again."  please help?

I'm experiencing the same problem. Don't think I can help, but maybe I can offer an explanation. It looks as if Flickr has changed their API and Adobe will need to update the export plugin to comply to get it working again. I found this announcement on Flickr:

  • Bridge CS5 Export Panel Displays Nothing

I have installed the updated for Bridge CS5 to version 4.0.2 and the export panel does not display anything.  I can select a group of images and right click, choose export to hard drive, but nothing happens.  Then when I exit Bridge I get a warning message telling me that Bridge will clear out all queued files from the export panel.
I have the Bridge Export Panel working fine on my laptop, but my main machine is not working.  Does the Export Panel require internet access?  That is the only difference I can see between the two.  I would think that I would at least see the option to export to my hard drive . I wonder if Bridge needs some services to use the Export Panel that I have turned off since I am not online?
Any help would be much appreciated.

The programs installed on the two machines do vary a bit.  I don't have antivirus on my main machine since it is not online.  At one point, I disabled a few Windows Network Services so they don't use system resources.  I wonder if the Export Panel requires some Windows Service that I have disabled?  I could not update Bridge to 4.02 until I turned on the Windows Service titled "Workstation".
I would really like to get the panel to work.  I like being able to specify images size by just the long edge...works great for a mix of landscape and portrait orientated pictures....I wish Photoshop could batch process resizing images based on one dimension.
Thank you for your input Curt.  I appreciate it.

  • Bridge CS5 Export Module only saves as 72 dpi file

I frequently export my edited RAW files as high resolutioin JPG files.  I've been using the Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor for export.  Having just purchased CS5, I tried using the Export Module and discovered that it only exports files as 72 dpi JPGs (not the 300 dpi of my original files).  Anyone know how to keep my exported files as 300 dpi?

No it's not a bug, the jpg is being created from the preview image (this can be a fullsize document) and there is no PPI information so the document defaults to 72 PPI in photoshop.
I agree there is a problem with the quality setting! It does not seem as it will save at the best quality, the range should be 1 - 100 not 1 - 12.
If you would like to try my interpretation of export you can try my Bridge Processor..
I have added a field to set the PPI

  • Export panel bridge cs5 - image quality only to 10

    Hi
Is anyone else having problems with the image quality settings in the image options.  It cannot seem to save the max setting of 12 it only save jpegs at 10.
    Any suggestions,  Thanks Andy

I had the exact same issue - except mine is limiting it to a maximum of 8
The workaround I found is to build the export profile exactly as you would like it - and let it pick whatever number it wants (8 or 10) - ignore the words of Low/High/Maximum - those just correlate to the 8 or 10 (or 12)
12 is the true maximum for the JPG export and once you run it - there is a noticeable file size increase and the images are a higher quality.
Once you have the profile built, go into the folder "Export Presets"
    Macintosh HD > Users > YourUsername > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Bridge CS5 > Export Presets
Open up the file that matches the same name as what you created inside bridge
The file will likely open as an .xml file inside dreamweaver (or another XML editor)
    find the line:
           <imageQuality>8</imageQuality>
and set what the system set as an 8 (or a 10) to a 12
           <imageQuality>12</imageQuality>
save the file and run the export again.
You will have what were 2-4MB JPG files becoming 8-12MB files with a quality of 12/Maximum
    Hope that helps

  • Bridge CS5 gallery, placed in DW CS5 does not show when uploaded

My husband has a Halloween haunt. We are gearing up to promote this year's haunt (and our charity of choice this time), and I wanted to update the photos from last year. Admittedly, I am an experienced print designer, wanting to learn more about web design, so not a pro at this by any means.
I created 3 galleries via the automated Bridge CS5 export (saving each gallery to its own folder within the site folder), then placed each gallery's index file into an iframe div relevant to that year's photogallery (one web page for 2010, one for 2009, one for 2008) so I can keep the site's masthead and a link to go back to the main photos page. Everything works fine when I preview it (local) as well as test on browsers (local). However, when everything is uploaded to the hosting company server, there is a white box for each gallery. I am at a loss. Cannot figure this out, and we're almost into October!
URL for one of the gallery pages:  http://windyhillhaunt.com/photos2010/10gallery.html
URL to go in via the main photos page (select either 2010, 2009 or 2008):   http://windyhillhaunt.com/photos.html
Please help. I want this to work for my husband, but I also want to learn how to do this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Julie Fanning

I was never able to get it to work. Had all files from the root directory (all resources, images, css, etc) copied onto hosting company. Tried to alter the relative path (Kdn002), etc. Nothing worked other than local testing.
Finally downloaded jAlbum, used the same div and iFrame structure, and it worked! I may make some tweaks down the road, but it's working fine now.

  • Bridge File Names Missing

Bridge (CS5) is missing many of the file names to many folders. Oddly, it's only some of them. And there appears to be no rhyme or reason as to why some would have names, while others don't.  Secondly, for those file folders without names, there's no way to rename the file folders.  When I right click to rename the folder, there's no option for rename.  I can create a new folder but can't name it.  Thirdly, the folders that do have names are encased in a black tag, which I don't like.
I've tried the usal rememdies, i.e., turning my computer (I use Windows 7) down and changing from my custom bridge worksace to essentials to filmstrip.  Nothing helps.
Any ideas on how this can be resolved?  Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.
    Suzanne

Purge Cache, see if that will help.
You will find the option under Tools.
There is a seperate forum just for the Bridge:

Yes, Bridge shortcut has been removed from PS CS5. However, you can go to File->Browse in Bridge option to open the file in Br CS6.

  • Adobe Bridge CS5.1 - Edit Export Preset Crash

I have successfully duplicated this issue on multiple machines, multiple user accounts running variations of 10.7 - 10.7.2. All Adobe updates applied.
Open Bridge CS5.1 > Click on EXPORT Panel tab > Save to Hard Drive (double click to edit) > choose Browse...
If you don't crash at this point... choose cancel and then select Browse again. You may also successfully select a folder, then go back and reedit preset by selecting Browse again... Crash.
I feel like I have tried it all... clean OS X, clean install of CS5.5 - no luck.

Same problem here.  It's really frustrating.  Thinking of ditching Bridge and switching to another app.  If I can't batch export RAW to JPEG, the program is pretty useless.

  • Problem with Exporting from Bridge CS5 to Social Media sites

    Hi Adobe users,
I'm a new French user of CS5 Bridge. My question is :
Is it possible for me to export pictures from Bridge to Social Media Sites like Facebook & Flickr ?
This topic (http://www.tipsquirrel.com/exporting-from-bridge-cs5-to-social-media-sites/) introduce me to exporting files but I haven't got the modules who were necessary for exporting. After, I do a Check For Update, without results. So I have another question :
What are the steps in order to have the necessary modules ?
    Thanks Julien BARREAU
    Sorry for my bad english.

You can't. The export module (btw gone in Bridge CC) has never worked properly for all social media. The reason they gave was due to rights management in different countries. It only worked in a few countries for Facebook.

  • Bridge CS5 - Adding metadata to RAW files is hit and miss

Can someone help me??? Bridge CS5 will only add the metadata I enter to the files it feels like doing. It is hit and miss. Some files will add it, and other files will get the message "There was an error writing metadata to 100824_Banks_06.NEF". It will go through my whole folder of RAW files, then other times it will allow one or two of the files to get the information. I am going crazy! Is this a preference setting issue, or what?

Bridge is the weakest of all Adobe applications I use.  It suffers from the same issues since its first release, when we were told to forgive the teething problems of any version 1 application.  Now it's in version 4.x.
I actually spent most of the last two days wrestling with Bridge, and getty pretty annoyed with it. The "Error writing metadata" bug caused me no end of problems in trying to reorganise my keywording of 20,000 photos, and turning the air blue in the process.
I agree that Bridge seems to be the poor relation in the Creative Suite. I call it the Less Glamourous Sister. It needs to be 64-bit to host 64-bit Camera Raw, and it needs to manage resources faster and more efficiently.
I've spent a fair amount of time watching Bridge's activity with a resources monitor utility, and it's a very busy lady. It seems to poll several drives every second or two, accessing the registry, disk-based settings and library files regularly too, even when it appears to be doing nothing. And, even though I had indexed and cached my whole 20,000 photo collection, Bridge insists on recreating some thumbnails and previews at random intervals.*
I decided that the anti-virus software suggestion was a red herring in my case (I now realise this is the Mac forum anyway). Photos which gave an error became subsequently locked for several minutes, and I had to edit the sidecar files by hand. In the end, I worked out that, even though there is no on-screen indication of activity, Bridge is quietly working its way through every item in the Content pane, and it is this action which seems to coincide with the Metadata Error. Wait for it to end, and chances are much reduced, but not fully removed.
Oh, and Adobe's customer treatment might be debatable, but that helpful customer you quoted was a regular abuser of other forum users, so I like to see a silver lining from that post.
    * Prefer Embedded thumbnails was also selected.

  • Exporting images in bridge CS5

for some reason when we go to export images we have adjusted in Bridge CS5, the only option that comes up is "hard drive".. when we select that we have no idea where it is exporting to. On our desktop we have other options like Facebook, and any place on the local hard drive we can navigate to, but on this laptop which is a new windows 8 machine we don't have those other options. Can anyone out there please shed some light on this issue for me. Thank you, Eric Simonson

I am using a USB cable to connect my camera to my PC.  If I take the SD card out and use my laptop card reader it works fine.
    Thanks,
    Jo.

  • Bridge CS5.1 Tools are missing and there are no startup scripts available.

Brand new MBP with Creative Suite CS5. Not sure what happened to the Bridge Image Processing Tools that where readily available in CS4. I looked for the Startup Scripts mentioned in other forum posts but this folder is empty: Library > Application Support > Adobe > Bridge CS5.1.
Why make us hunt for Startup Scripts?

I think you may be misunderstanding me.
With many advantages with using mail for this forum the disadvantage sometimes is you don't have oversight in the whole thread.
I was merely reacting on Curt with the CS5 and CS5.5 solution that solved some problems earlier this year but reading the thread again that seems not related to yours.
Shortly before Curt his post I read your post about renaming the default folder name (which to me sounds bad). Hence my reference to a solution of an older problem that was solved by creating a new folder with the 5.1 addition and copy the scripts in there
However I still don't understand why you are not able to have a normal setup after clean install.
Without having experience with Lion I really would try the Recovery Disk for resetting your user account. With Pre Lion you could do an Archive and Install and it seems Lion also has such an option.

  • PS/Bridge CS5 Batch Processor Not Working / Missing Scripts

I'm having a bit of a problem within Photoshop/Bridge CS5 and haven't found anything that works to resolve it.
In Bridge, I want to launch the Photoshop Batch Processor via Tools>Photoshop>Batch.
When I select this, Photoshop launches, but the dialog to process the images never shows. On occasion, if I return to Bridge and attempt the same operation again, I'll get a notification that there's already something in progress and asks if I want to queue this operation. The other times (majority) I can return to Bridge and attempt the operation again but get no dialogues in Photoshop. I can try the other options in this menu as well (eg Image Processor, etc) and get the same results.
Here's what I've done so far:
    1. Checked Bridge Edit>Preferences>Startup Scripts and ensured those were all checked. I even disabled all, closed Bridge and Photoshop, then re-enabled.
    2. Cleared all Preferences from Bridge and Photoshop (using Ctrl+Shift+Alt at launch).
    3. Reinstalled Photoshop (multiple times)
    4. Uninstalled Photoshop, ran the Adobe CS Cleaner application, then reinstalled Photoshop.
It should be noted that in Bridge>Edit>Preferences and Startup Scripts, if I click the button to 'Reveal my scripts' the folder it takes me to is blank. Not sure if this folder is solely used for personal/user created scripts or for others as well, but it's completely empty.
I have also gone to Help>Updates and updated both applications with any necessary updates from Adobe.
If I go into Photoshop and select File>Automate>Batch or even File>Scripts>Image Processor, both dialogues open fine.
    Running Windows 8.1 Pro.
Anyone else seen this and actually resolve the issue? Does anyone know where the scripts are supposed to be located and/or if I can get them from somewhere else? Any help is much appreciated

Make sure Photoshop is not started and then try to use Bridge menu Tools>Photoshop>Batch does Photoshop start up?
Bridge CS5 menu Tools>Photoshop>Batch works on my Windows 7 Pro system
Photoshop Automate>Batch is not a script  and Photoshop does not any external java program it had its own version of java plugin.
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins\Extensions\ScriptingSupport.8li
    c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\Extensions\ScriptingSupport.8li
However there are two startup scripts for the bridge involved Bridge and Photoshop  You must have them for you have a Bridge menu Tools>Photoshop>items
two scripts on my system are:
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CS5\Adobe Bridge\bridge-4.jsx
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CS5\Adobe Photoshop\photoshop.jsx
The photoshop.jsx seems to be the one the the inserts the menu Tools>Photoshop>Batch into Bridge and also invokes Photosgop Automate>batch  photoshop.jsx  also inserts the other Bridge menu Tools>Photoshop>Menu Itens that you state work.
Here is what I see in my photoshop.jsx for batch.  I do not know or understand Bridge scripting and do not know javsscript but what I see there seems to be some checking done about Photoshop being available and if it is not the script just returns which is what you seem to be experiencing the test looks like this
      if (!photoshop.correctPSIsAvailable (availabilityCheckOptions))
      return;
The whole batch support section follows:
