Bridge CS5 new window

On Win 7 Ultimate & Professional x64 when opening 2 Bridge CS5 windows, I cannot switch between them.
There are 2 issues:
Let's say that initial Bridge window 1 is browing directory 1. I right-click (only right click without browsing into) on some other directory 2 and select "Open in New Window". New window 2 opens.
Issue A: At this point both Window1 and Window 2 show directory 2 contents.
Window 1 should have stayed in directory 1.
Issue B: At this point it is impossible to switch between Window 1 and Window 2

Issue A:  This also is what happens in CS3 and Vista.  So would assume this is normal.
Issue B:  You shoud have 2 tabs on the bottom of screen showing  2 windows of Bridge are open.  Clicking on the appropriate tab should make that the active window.  If it does not this would be a function of the OS and not Bridge, so check there first.

  • Problem opening Bridge CS5 in Windows 7

When I open Bridge CS5 in Windows 7, I get a pop-up window from User Account Contro that asks "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?"  The program listed is Bridge.  If I say NO, Bridge doesn't open.  If I say YES, Bridge opens normally.  This question pops up every time I open Bridge but not with any other CS5 applications or any other program.  Any suggestions?  Thanks,

This is a permissions issue within the OS.  Next time you start Bridge right click on the icon and select "run as administrator" and choose yes.  Perhaps it will stick that way.

  • Bridge CS5 + Windows 7 x64 - Folders/Libraries won't expand

Bridge CS5 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (all service applied).  In the FOLDERS panel; Libraries dows not expand when (properly) clicked.
I believe I've got a thousand-word picture to illustrate (Explorer on the left & Bridge on the right - same desktop):
And while I'm here - this appears to be Bridge's favorite condition - what's this all about?

Similar display problems with the folders have been solved by resetting the preferences.  Hold down the ctrl key and start Bridge.  You will get a reset window with 3 options.

  • Bridge CS5 just won't start up

I use Adobe Photoshop and Bridge CS5 on Windows Vista SP2.
Recently I had a nasty virus on my laptop that had eaten away some of important .dll and .exe files and thus caused problems with many software applications. However, I have cleared the system of the virus now. The faulty applications get fixed when I reinstall them.
Similarly, I did a full cleanup and reinstall of Adobe Photoshop CS5 too. I even used the "AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe" and made sure I had no Adobe CS products on my machine before I reinstalled. As a result of this, Photoshop CS5 works fine, but Bridge CS5 fails to start up.
I see the below error when I try to launch it.

I have tried installing the latest Adobe Photoshop CS5.1.
I have even done the option of resetting preferences by holding down Ctrl key while launching Bridge.
I have also tried deleting everything under the below directory:
    "C:\Users\Adarsh\AppData\Roaming\Adobe"
I am convinced it is not a problem with Bridge CS5 but that of a module / dll that Bridge depends on. Unfortunately, due to the limited information I see in the error report, I am not able to go any further.
I am breaking my head over this from the past two weeks and been completely out of luck. Any help offered to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Did you do the virus scan yourselt for have it done in a shop?
The problem according to your report is
    Fault Module Name: StackHash_125c
It looks like this may be a virus.  But check online and see what others say.
Sorry I do not have better news.

  • Empty filter panel in Bridge CS5

I’m using Bridge CS5 on Windows 7.  If I create a new folder, add an image file, and attach a keyword, the filter panel remains empty – as if the folder were empty.  That is, not only are there no terms under the Keyword filter, but no filter options are displayed at all.
However, if I use Find to search for the attached keyword, then there’s no problem locating the image.
This is such a basic issue that I’m sure I’m missing something obvious.  Is it related to caching or indexing?  Closing and reopening Bridge doesn’t make any difference.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I see what’s going on now.  It looks like there’s a minor Bridge 4.0.4.2 bug relating to the filter panel (in the lower left part of the Bridge window).  Basically, no filter options are shown in the panel unless the current folder contains at least two files.
To see this behavior:  (1) Create a new folder; the filter panel will be empty of course.  (2) Copy an image file into the folder; the panel is still empty.  (3) Copy another image file into the folder; the panel is populated with options, e.g. keywords, camera raw properties, etc. for the two files.  (4) Delete one of the files; the filter panel is empty again.

  • Preview panel loses Color Management after Minimize Bridge CS5

Whenever I minimize the Bridge CS5 application window to the Windows taskbar, upon restoring or maximizing the Bridge application window the image(s) currently showing in the Preview panel no longer appear color managed (they look exactly as they would appear from a non-color-managed app.)  In order to see them as color managed again, I have to either de/re-select their thumbnails or double click the Preview panel twice (once to minimize it, and once again to restore it.)  Otherwise resizing the Preview panel has no impact on the color.  The thumbnails in the Content panel are fine.  This did NOT occur in CS4 or earlier versions of Bridge - otherwise the same environment.
I have a wide-gamut monitor, which causes many non-color-managed images to look super saturated, especially reds & greens, so it is probably much easier to notice this behavior in this environment than from a typical-gamut monitor.
Windows 7, x64, ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, Bridge v4.0.3.9
    Anyone else notice this annoyance?

    Thanks Curt,
I doubt this is a video issue as no other versions of Bridge behave this way on this system.  I have the same preference settings in Bridge CS5 as for Bridge CS4 - which works fine.  Nor does Photoshop exhibit this behavior post-minimizing, & Photoshop behaves perfectly for all the OpenGL Drawing settings (which I have set to Advanced in PS.)  Bridge just seems to poorly manage the Preview panel color post-minimizing the application window, but otherwise everything displays fine during operation.  I'd be surprised if it was just me but if it is, it's an easy enough annoyance to work around.  I'd imagine that this isn't too observable on a normal-gamut monitor.
I tried your suggestion of  "use software rendering", just in case, but it made no difference.  Appreciate the idea though...
    One more observation:
While thumbnails are being generated for the first time on large images, they also have the non-color-managed appearance until they complete their generating, at which time they take the managed appearance - but I just consider that a processing-timing final step & it hasn't changed behavior from previous versions of Bridge.

  • Multiple page PDF source in Bridge CS5

    [X-posted from CS Windows]
    Hello,
I am using  Bridge CS5 on Windows to create multiple page PDFs from source PDF and  PSD files. I can create multipage PDFs from a number of single-page  source files, but when a source PDF has multiple pages, only the first  page of the source PDF appears in the final PDF. Bridge recognizes that  the source files are multipage in the preview window (the multipage PDF  appears as a single page in the preview window, which can be paged  through), but it silently omits the extra pages in the final product.  How do I get all the pages to show up in the final PDF?
    TIA,
    Michael

I have seen the answer for this in the past 8? months, but can't remember the exact details on how to get around it.  If my memory serves me correctly Bridge sees the mullti page PDF as one document which causes the problems you encountered.

  • Adding keywords/tagging in bridge CS5

I'm using bridge CS5 on windows xp and 7 (mostly xp).  I'm trying to set up a seachable database of about 63,000 images at work on a server that many people have access to.  I was trying to put keywords on some pictues and it only let me put them on the JPEGS.  Most of the other files were .max and .bmp.  It wouldn't let me open the file info box to enter them, the option was just greyed out.
I was also wondering if anybody knew if setting the location of the cache to a folder on the server on each computer would work well, or if each computer needs to keep it's own searchable cache.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Not an expert on this subject, but before you comit a lot of time on this project in Bridge, explore other options as well, such as digital access management programs.
Bridge is not really set up for Network use although some use it that way.  Also, Lightroom and Photoshop Elements stores the keywords in a database, while Bridge stores it on the image.  Although I have never used the other programs, it seems lke it would be easier to search.

  • Bridge CS5 freezes when using 'reveal in explorer'

Bridge CS5 freezes when you select a file and try to "reveal in explorer". The command does work, it does reveal the file in explorer but then the bridge window turns white and freezes. It usually doesn't happen in the first time you click 'reveal in explorer', but if you do it enough (3x or more) bridge will freeze eventually.
I'm going back to Bridge CS4.
*I'm using Bridge CS5 on windows 7 Professional 64 bit

This sounds like a memory thing.  Check the spare space on the HD (it should never be more than 75% full), defrag the harddrive,  clean out your trash bin, check to see if you paging file is installed, and your RAM is working properly.

  • Bridge CS5 will not open on new computer

I deactivated ps cs5 on my old computer and used my ps cs5 upgrade disk to install it on my new win 7 ultimate computer. It should be clean install but I did migrate many files from the old win xp computer with windows easy transfer. Bridge will not open and I can not find it listed in my programs. I tried to run my old cs4 upgrade disk and it shows that I have bridge cs4 installed even though I never installed ps cs4 on this machine. Is it possible that some old migrated files are now blocking bridge cs5 from opening? I tried to reset preferences by holding the ctrl key and clicking on bridge but nothing will open. Would this be solved by upgrading to CS6 or will I still have the same issue if bridge cs5 does not open? I tried to run the bridge cs5 update but it will not install. I do not get any error message at any time. Adobe support advisor found an unnamed error but can not recommend a solution.

I ran the creative suite cleaner and removed all files from cs3, cs4. But they are still there listed in c>programfiles (x86)>adobe. I can see adobe bridge cs4 and adobe bridge cs5. when i run bridge.exe from adobe bridge cs5 folder it opens bridge cs5. but i cannot open bridge while ps cs5 is open. I can't seem to delete the cs4 files as it says i need administrator rights, which are somehow not available.
Update: Somehow it did work, even though the cs4 program files are still there. I opened mini bridge from within cs5 and it said something to the effect that it needed to close cs4 bridge and use cs5, i clicked okay and my files were displayed in mini bridge cs5. I closed that and then clicked the bridge icon from within ps cs5 and bridge cs5 opened. I guess I changed the preferences somehow. Thanks for your answer and suggestion, which may well have been the solution or it led me to the correct step. The big point is that I avoided the big reinstall I dreaded after two days of getting cs5 set up with all plug-ins,etc installed. Thanks for your help!

  • Bridge cs5 camera raw 6.5 to 6.5 and new bridge cs6 preview problem

when i actualize camera raw from 6.5 to 6.6 the preview can`t give me right preview after 1 adjustment in camera raw.Image apears like when we open it in camera raw and it last few seconds with the yellow exclamation mark.
Months ago the only solution i found after several instals was to turn back to camera raw 6.5.

I use Nikon D3x with 14 bits ~49MB .nef files in Windows 7 64 bits.
Is any one have same problem? And why only in 6.6 (and new camera raw 7.0) and not in 6.5?

There is just an icon. The camera raw add-on is the latest usable update for Windows, the canon 6d is listed as compatible. Has anyone an idea what to do?
The Canon 6D id NOT supported by ACR 6.7.1. It was supported for the very first time in ACR 7.3 whch requires CS6 to run.
Therefore you will never be able to open raw CR2 files from the 6D directly in CS5.
If you do not plan on upgrading, you can download the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 8.3 (always use the latest version, it's not tied to your version of Photoshop at all), install it like any other application and then run it on each batch of CR2 files to convert them to raw DNG files that you can then open in your version of Photoshop and ACR.

  • Bridge CS5 Windows crashes when I command/move or drag/drop files internally

Bridge CS5 crashes with a Microsoft "report error" dialog whenever I drag images from one folder to another inside of Bridge, or use the right-click "Move To . . ." mouse command.  After months of successful use of the Bridge CS5, this behavior suddenly began.  Unfortunately, I can't now remember whether I did anything to my Windows environment at that time.  Bridge does not have trouble with dragging or command/moving files into Photoshop, but dragging image files (jpg) from a search screen or the Windows Explorer can also end in a crash.
I'm running Windows XP SP3 32-bit on a 4-processor machine with adequate ram and lots of hard drive/scratch drive.  I deinstalled every trace of Bridge and reinstalled the upgrade 4.0.2.1, which makes me up to date. Working with Adobe Support I also cleared and uninstalled, and then reinstalled Photoshop, Bridge, etc. to fix some other problems.
I have experimented with purging the Bridge cache for individual folders I was dragging from and to, but didn't purge all caches.  Typically, the crash appears a few seconds after dragging/moving a file - continuosly sucking-me into thinking things are at last repaired.  On occasion images are lost - i.e. really destroyed, or dropped into some limbo somewhere.
I'd be truly grateful for any ideas to try, no matter how extensive or simple.
    Thanks!

    Hi Robert,
I'm a developer from Br team. Thanks for reporting Br. problems.
It seems like a memory issue. Please try this to help us identify the root cause:
    1. Disable all startup scripts (Edit->Preferences->Startup Scripts->Disable All), then restart Br.
    2. When Br is running, kill "SwitchBoard" process in task manager.
    3. When do Copy&Move operations, don't use Drag&Drop, try to use "Move To / Copy To" menu. (A known issue of Bridge, should be fixed in later versions)
    Does the crash still happens?
    Thanks very much!
