Bridge CS6 doesn't allow access to many of my folders on iMac

iMac with OS X 10.8.2 and Photoshop & Bridge CS6 and Lightroom 4.
When try and access photos via Bridge most of my folders have a little red circle with a minus inside, denying me access to the folders.
However, if I use mini Bridge in PS I can access all of my folders.

Hello! It would be nice to have a migration script in Bridge too...
In the past, there were folders you could copy, but given the database changes, I'm not sure, I need to check first with the team.
On a Mac, it is in the collections folders in ~Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/Bridge CS5/Collections/
PC(XP): C:Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS5\collections
VIsta/7: user/app data/roaming/Adobe/Bridge CS5/Collections

When upgrading no files are copied from the previous version. So you will have to find them and copy them over. Locations are in post above.

Have you tried resetting the Preferences (pressing cmd-alt-shift at starting until the appropriate dialog appears)?

Bridge cs6 doesn't recognize my cs5.5 .indd files?

I just upgraded from CS 5.5 to CS 6. When I go into Bridge and double click an old CS5.5 .indd file it tries to open in MS Word. (I find this very strange) If I right click the file and click "open with" the only option it gives me is MS Word. I don't even get that "try another program" button. When i go into InDesign and click file/open the file opens fine. The problem is that Bridge is much faster and I really want to use it. I checked with a coworker that upgraded the same time I did and she is having the same issue only she saves her files to her desktop and can no longer double click to open. Also when she does an "open with" she has multple options but none of them are InDesign. So with that said, I don't think this is a Bridge issue but I wasn't sure where else to post it. Thanks for any help you can give.

Maybe also try the InDesign forum for this.
When you look in to Bridge preferences you have the section 'File Type Associations' and inhere you can select the default application to open the files in. Inhere should be a list of all installed versions of ID visible and you can select one as the default.
Bridge is version specific and it might expect ID CS6 for bridge CS6 but usually it auto selects the correct version upon install. Can you check if the ID version you need is still in the File Type Associations?
And since your colleague has the same problem, are you working on a server environment?

Bridge CS6 does not allow to export pictures anymore

I am running Bridge CS6 from the Creative Cloud on a Powermac with Mac OSX Lion.
With Bridge CS5 I used to convert my Raw files through (German version) Dateien > exportieren in
And here – where the old version offered to choose a folder – there is just an unselectable »Services« visable.
Why is that so? It is a pretty important funktion to me.
Please help.

Lumia 800 - Tethering doesn't allow access to Inte...

Hello All,
I've just updated my Lumia 800 to Tango. I now see the Internet sharing option. I can switch it on, other clients can see and connect to the WiFi hotspot.
I tried to tether my Windows 7 laptop to the phone, but no luck - I cannot actually use the tethered connection to browse the Internet.
I don't have any restrictions on my Internet usage plan.I can confirm this because with the same data plan (and SIM), my E6 (with Joiku hotspot) can share its Internet connection without any hassles.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again for your feedback. Could you try to do the following;
Disable Wi-Fi on the Lumia so it only has a Mobile data connection.
Disable Wi-Fi access on the laptop
Enable Internet sharing on the Lumia
Enable Wi-Fi access on the laptop then find and connect to the Lumia access point.
If you do not get internet access on the laptop please send me a personal mail with the following data:
Phone carrier and country
Laptop brand and model
Used operating system (including any service packs!)
The speed of the connection from Wireless Network Connection Status on the PC
The following settings for the Interface on the PC (Wireless Network Connection Status>Details)
IPv4 address
IPv4 Default Gateway
IPv4 DHCP server
IPv4 DNS Server

InDesign 2014 doesn't allow access to the Text tool

I installed the 2014 update for InDesign and started work on an existing book project (about 70 pages in extent), replacing some of the graphics on the cover with eps files from Bridge. I can select the title and subtitle on the cover page too. But when I moved to the next page that I had not yet touched since installing ID 2014, I found the Text toll was not working. All it does is draw a box, but I can no longer click on text and work on it.
I copied all the content on the cover page, quit ID 2014, opened ID 9.2.2.103 using an older version of the document, and pasted the changes into the old document. ID 9.2.2 works just fine, but each time I try using ID 2014 (v. 10.0.0.70), the same problem happens again.
I have tried re-starting, starting in Safe Boot mode, exporting the file as .idml and re-opening it in ID 2014, but it is the same old bug all over.
Any others have the same or similar experience, and any explanations and solutions to offer?

I'll answer my own question now that it is solved:
Deleting ~/library/Preferences and /Caches didn't solve the problem. In fact none of the suggestions helped. What really helped was to go to find the locked layer for all the pages and unlock it!
ID 2014 set up a new view for my layout, and the layers tab was in a new place, and not it's full length anymore, so the locked layer wasn't visible like I was used to, but it was there nevertheless.
What's the old saying about the source of the problem (and the solution) usually being found not too far from the front of the screen...

VPN doesn't allow access to server

We used to keep two different addresses for the server and our IT folks wanted to consolidate them. There was no reason that the server and the vpn server addresses should be separate. However now if I have VPN connection I cannot connect to the server.
My DNS has reverse lookup set correctly (AFAICT)
% host vpnserver.TLD
vpnserver.TLD is an alias for opsxserve.TLD.
opsxserve.magnet.fsu.edu has address NNN.NNN.NNN.60
% host NNN.NNN.NNN.60
60.NNN.NNN.NNN.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer opsxserve.TLD.
% host opsxserve.TLD
opsxserve.TLD has address NNN.NNN.NNN.60
But when using VPN I cannot connect to the opsxserve.TLD for calendar, mail, admin, etc. This only happens when I am outside the firewall. When inside and use VPN it all works, I have set the option to send all data over VPN.

Let me try to clarify things. The server is back to the two IP configuration.
Server has 2 IP addresses and 2 dns entries one for services and one only for VPN, those would be
vpnserver @ IP 59
opsxserve @ IP 60 (where I deleted the top level domain and the first 3 sections of the ip address)
then when using VPN I have access to calendar, ldap mail, VNC, and server admin on the server.
But if use the following DNS set up to reduce IP address usage there is a problem
vpnserver alias to opsxserve
opsxserve @ IP 60
Then when using VPN from outside the firewall I cannot access iCal server, server admin etc. The server does not have its firewall turned on. All the VPN addresses assigned are on the same subnet as the server.
All the services have always run on the same box which is an early intel XServe.

The search suggestion drop box doesn't allow you to go on the web when you click on the suggestion.

Bridge CS6 insist to open Camera raw files via Photoshop CS6 instead of CC

I´ve trying to start using Photoshop CC instead of CS6. The problem is that my Bridge CS6 is opening Camera RAWs to Photoshop CS6 as a default instead of CC. I`ve changed Finder defaults and as well as Bridges own File type assosiations to use Photoshop CC as a default, but still it isnt working. I wouldnt want to delete Photoshop CS6 completely.
Any help, anyone?

Which version mac os x are you using?
If it's mac os x 10.6.8 snow leopard, then post back before installing bridge cc.
I believe you need to install bridge cc so your camera raw files will open from the camera raw dialog in bridge cc to photoshop cc.
Also of note is the camera raw version for bridge cs6 doesn't have any of the new features that the bridge cc version of camera raw has.
If you open the the Creative Cloud Desktop.app, then you should see Bridge CC available for install.
Applications>Adobe Creative Cloud>Adobe Creative Cloud

Why cobook not allowed access to address book

I installed cobook on my ipod. That works fine.
But the cobook version on my iMac shows up on the menu bar with no contacts, and it says contacts won't allow access to Cobook.
To get the iMac app to run, do I have to uninstall it on the ipod and re-install it on iMac first?

Bridge CS6 crashes when accessing a folder containing a GIF file

Each time I try to access a folder in Bridge CS6 containing a GIF file, Bridge crashes.
Moving the file out of the folder (with Finder) stops the crash happening. I've tried with several different GIF files, diffrent ages, with and without animation. ANY GIF file causes the crash in ANY folder. Very frustrating as I can't use Bridge to use any folder with a GIF inside.
I'm using Bridge CS6 5.0.1.21 (Creative Cloud) on a Mac with OSX 10.8.2.
Saw another post suggesting using 32bit version instead of 64bit, but that's a Windows thing.
Anyone have any ideas?

Here's something else: I made a copy of a GIF file and changed its file extension to .jpg and then tried to view it's enclosing folder. No crash! I then made a copy of a jpeg and changed it's extension to GIF. No crash!
That is a weird route to go...
However tried it and had no problem other then not getting a preview for the jpeg and after again change to .gif the need of purging caching for the thumb.
If you want a workaround, try 'A Better Finder Rename', a cheap application that let's you change whatever you want for files or folders name, replacing etc.
You could set up a droplet for changing the extension to .jpg, drop the folder with all files on it and then again create a droplet to get the .gif back and drop it again. the set up takes 5 minutes, the result is taking only a few seconds.
You can change the extension in Bridge with Batch Rename but obviously that would not help you because you first have to select the files...

Accessing "Collections" in Bridge CS6

The latest version of Bridge in CS5 shows my collections with no problem. However with Bridge in CS6 collections cannot be accessed. Do I really have to set these up all over again? Alan

Right Click then Copy To does not allow selection of My Computer in Bridge CS6

Just suddenly this started. When I right click an image in Bridge (CS6) and select Copy To, only Desktop and the main folder with my name appears - I cannot select folders and hard drives from My Computer. How do I get My Computer to show up in the window where I can Choose Folder. Am using Wn 7 64 bit. This was not an issue until today.

Continuing to research options for utilizing my Time Machine backups has led to the Pondini pages. Great stuff. In there I learned it would be possible to delete individual backups. This might allow me to get rid of the 3 backups which occured after my HD failed... backups of the new HD that are getting in the way of using Migration Assistant.
Here is my question.
In the listing of backups is a alias called Latest. It seems to be pointing to one of the backups that I want to delete. Will I cause a problem by deleting it? Or better yet, is it possible to edit this alias to point to the backup I want to use in Migration Assistant?
Status of attempts to Restore: Each attempt to restore is taking the better part of a day due to needs like sleeping and goiing to work...
Attempt 1 restore to day before HD failure worked but a strange assortment of error messages showed up indicating that the Drive failure was corrupting things
Attempt 2 restore to earlier same day... same result
Attempt 3 restore to 2 weeks earlier... same result
Attempt 4 restore to 5 months earlier... good result but l would like to get much closer
Is it possible to use Migration Assistant to utilize the "corrupt" backup?

How to copy keywords from one image to many in Bridge CS6 (workaround)

I see a few questions about how to do this, but I didn't see this workaround (maybe it's even the workflow Adobe had in mind). Hope it helps others searching for this.
To copy keywords from one photo, and then apply the same keywords to many, in Bridge CS6:
Select one image that has the keywords you want to copy.
Right-click and choose File Info...
On the IPTC tab, scroll down to find the Keywords field. Select and copy the keywords you want (probably all).
Click Cancel to exit without making accidental changes.
Select the files you want to add the keywords to.
Right-click and choose File Info...
On the IPTC tab, scroll down to find the Keywords field.
Click in it and paste your copied keywords.
Click OK. Keywords are applied to all files. (NOTE: I think this replaces keywords, rather than adding to them).
I'm using CS6 on OS X 10.6.8.

Why wouldn't you just use a Windows .bat file with xcopy statements? You could even schedule it to run with the Windows task scheduler.
