Bridge CS6 open file bug with Hasselblad RAW file

There is a bug in Bridge CS6 (or RAW editor?) with (some) Hasselblad RAW files. I have a set of FFF files that I can use and open without problems in Bridge CS6 (5.0.0.399 x64). But one file of them does not show a preview icon and when I try to open it in PS6 or RAW editor, I get an errormessage "unexpected end of file...". When I open the same file in Hasselblad "Phocus" software there is no problem. I can see the preview thumb and I can play around with the file and even export to TIF or DNG without any trouble. I can even open the exported DNG in PS or Bridge/RAW editor then.
Well, you might say I should not care for a single file but it leaves a bad taste, when the Hasselblad software can handle the file without problems...
If some developer want to take a look at this I could provide original files.

I work with a Hasselblad medium format camera. I do not have a CF card in use. And I can tell that this worked absolutely flawless for many years. I NEVER had corrupted files caused by transfer. Many photographers using pro medium format cameras work the same way (Phase One, Leaf, etc.). They do not use CF cards but firewire cable. the problem arised when I started using the CS6 Bridge software. And it turned out that I get more and more corrupted files which appeared to be fine before. So from one shooting i.e. 1 file of 100 was corrupted first. Since I started using Bridge and changed RAW settings and worked with the same files after some days I have 5 corrupted files of 100 now. And NO it is not my system. It works fine with other camera RAWs where I have absolutely no problems. It is only the Hasselblad files. Though I still can open the Hasselblad RAW files with the Hasselblad software. The problems are only with the Bridge (respectively the raw editor) in combination with the Hasselblad files.
To me it looks like CS is corrupting the files since they worked fine at first - even in CS and after some days playing around in CS the appear to be corrupted. Funny that I can open the same files without problems using a different software - isn't it? ;-)
thanks for the link I will try it.... :-)

  • Bridge CS6 "open with" choose programms

    OS: Win 7 Professional 64bit
    Bridge: CS6 5.0.2.4
    Hello,
how can I choose the programms that are shown in Adobe Bridge CS6 at "File->Open With"? I've got at least 2 programms which shouldn't be there, e.g. Firefox or COM Surrogate 6.1. I don't know, how they came into the menu. When I right-click the files in Windows Explorer, the "Open With" menu is filled with image editing and viewing tools. Everything is ok there. No Firefox and no COM Surrogate. Besides I want to add some tools like Photoshop or Windows Image Viewer and some more. When I add Photoshop in "Preferences->File Allocation", it is in the menu. But when I add Windows Image Viewer, Photoshop isn't there anymore. Is there a way to configure this? Especially COM Surrogate is a operating system network tool and shouldn't absolutly be there. I tried to set the file allocation to standard, but COM Surrogate and Firefox stayed in the menu.
    Greetings
    Thomas

What version of Bridge and Photoshop and what platform? Mac or Windows?  I can point you to a downloadable installer.
If the cdrom was damaged, it may be the problem.
You would uninstall and use the CC/CS Cleaner to remove any remnants before reinstalling.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
I'll be gone for most of the day, but someone should be able to help you if you get stuck.

When I download camera raw 8.5 and install the raw converter doesnt work anymore, wont even open or isnt available anymore in the plugin list. Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.

When I search for updates the raw converter doesnt get update automaticly. Frustrating, is costing me the whole morning.

  • Camera Raw won't open certain JPG files from Bridge, others open in ACR with no problem.

Edit: This was orignally posted in the Photoshop > Macintosh forum, which I failed to realize was read only. Thanks to a PM headsup, I'm reposting it here. Thanks
I've searched the internet and the Adobe forums and cannot find a direct answer to what I'm dealing with.
The issue I am having is that Bridge CS5 (current version 4.0.5.11) will open some JPG images in Raw with no problem and others nothing happens at all. All the images come from the same source (Fujifilm Frontier SP2000) so I really don't understand why Bridge ignores some of them as being openable in RAW. For example, say this roll of film has 36 images. If I "Select All", right click, and select "Open in Camera Raw", it will open whichever it deems acceptable in RAW and nothing happens at all to the others (The RAW dialog will, for instance, only open 10 images instead of all 36, and the remaining images are not altered in any way).
I've made sure that Photoshop is prefering Adobe Camera Raw with Supported Raw Files and in Camera Raw Preferences I have the box ticked to Automatically open JPGs with Settings but nothing helps.
My work around is to one file at a time in the Photoshop Open dialog, selecting an affected JPG file and have it open them as Camera Raw instead of Jpeg.
Any ideas? It's done this for quite a while and I have no idea how to fix it.
    Thanks.

  • Bridge CS6 not generating correct thumbnails for RAW files

I'm running Bridge CS6 (the latest version, 5.0.2.4) on a 2013 MacBook Pro (OSX 10.9.1) and suddenly as of today Bridge is no longer updating the thumbnails for my RAW files. All other image and video file formats are having thumbnails generated but not my Nikon NEF raw files including those which I have previously worked on in ACR. I have tried purging the entire cache, restarting Bridge and even rebooting my computer and still the raw thumbnails are not being generated.
Any advice would be appreciated thank you.
    Eric
Actually I've just noticed that thumbnails for jpegs are not being generated either. A thumbnail is only generated if I work on a file in Photoshop and then save it.

Check you cache disk free space.  You should have at least 15%.  For a 700g drive that that 100g free.
Have you reset preferences?  Hold down option key and start bridge.  You will get a reset window.

  • Is there a solution to Adobe Bridge CS6 not being able to read raw files from the 5D Mk lll

I like to use Bridge as my overall file organizer.  I operate on a Mac version OSX version 10.8.3 and cannot read my raw files in bridge cs6.  Does anyone have a solution for this.
Also is Canon putting any pressure on Adobe to fix this?

Not bridge but camera raw. You'll need to update your camera RAW.
You can either do it directly in Photoshop, or you can download it here: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2011/03/keeping-photoshop-up-to-date.html
At the bottom, there is a link to download Camera Raw 7.4 for Mac and WIndows. Adobe hides there link from their main site to force people to update via Photoshop update feature.

  • Share a customized Bridge CS6 or CC workspace with others on my team: Is this possible? Is there a specific file I can copy and share?

I set up a customized Bridge CS6 workspace that shows specific information team members need, and nothing else. I'd like to share it, save it as a preference, or otherwise export it so team members can have it, too. There must be a file, eh?
Otherwise, I am looking at visiting 14 workstations to set it up individually.
    Please advise! Thanks!

Which OS?  In Windows 7 bridge CS6 workspaces are stored in
      C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS6\Workspaces
You might try copying the specific workspace file to the same directory on the other systems.

  • Bridge CC opens files on simple click

    Hi,
The subject says it all : Bridge CC Mac (6.0.1.6) opens files on select (simple click).
It is very inconvenient and I can't for the life of me find a place where to change this absurd behaviour or is it a bug ?
My context : MacBook Pro late 2011, OSX 10.8.5, either on trackpad or MS Mobile Memory Mouse 8000.

I understand that I'm unfortunate enough to be the one and only to suffer this single-click plague ?
Don't know if you are the only one but at the most one of very few I'm afraid…
Do a check and repair permissions with Apple Disk Utility and double check your mouse and track path settings in the system preferences (there is a setting that lets you double click with one single finger tick).
And you can always combine the reset of prefs with the delete of plist file for Bridge in User library preferences (by default hidden, use menu go with option to reveal this library). Maybe you have to try a bit more often with reset prefs, sometimes 3 or 4 go's can do a miracle.

  • Bridge CS6 crashes on startup with Windows Vista

I have just installed Adobe Bridge CS6 on a Windows Vista system. When I try to open it I get a message "Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working". The program won't open. Solutions?

  • Mini bridge - show open files?

when bridge was first born as file browser, and integrated into PS did it have the ability of displaying the open files in PS?
I'm "kinda" hoping that a bunch of people are going to jump all over this conversation and say... of course it can do it now!
I'm very old-school and don't like the tabbed windows interface, I'm generally tossing layers around and windows are easier for me, but.... I could see that this would have some use if I was using a smaller display and if I could also use mini bridge to show thumbnails of the open files and use this to switch tabbed images. Or, if I could drag layers onto the thumbnail in Mini Bridge and subsequently bring that tabbed image to front.

I needed to set the file type association in preferences.

You can open Bridge and change the file associations in Edit>File Type Associations to change to PS CS6.  That is the easiest way.  Another way would be to open Control Panel>Programs>Default Programs to change the file association for .jpeg, .psd., .tif, et cetera.
For your info, and others, this does not work in situations were the file associations become corrupted by uninstalling a previous version.  The mechanism for corruption is not quite clear to Adobe, but somehow the registry for file associations gets reset to the version that was deleted.  Since the normal methods of changing file associations, that you mention, do not affect the registry file in question, the problem still remains.  Therefore one needs to wipe files with the Adobe Script Cleaner or go in and change the registry.

  • Bridge CS6 - How to rename 50,000 RAW Files?

    Hi Folks,
Let me just say this, so I can get it off my chest ... Adobe why on earth did you make these forums the most maddeningly formatted I have ever used. Not intuitive at all and needlessly complicated and precious. I thought you guys were good at this stuff?
    Whew ...
I have about 50,000 raw files all rated, labeled and keyworded. They are in about 450 folders but the numbering of the files is just whatever my particular Canon camera of the day had at the time. I'd like to change the filenames to my initial and last name, date (YR,MONTH,DAY), a number from 0001-9999 (for that particular date) and a two letter suffix.
    For instance:
    fguy_120109_0001_SF.CR2
The question is, is there some way to automate this without having to go to each folder separately, select all the files and rename? Can this be automated? Otherwise thats 450 folders to deal with.
    Suggestions please.
