Bridge does not remember thubnails size (Windows 7)

My Bridge no longer remembers size of thumbnails and the overall layout in the Essentials view . This behavior started to appear when I upgraded to Windows 7. Bridge now starts with 4 or 6 huge thumbnails and contracted Folders pane on the left hand side. Is there any settings file that can be reset to make it working again? Is this a known problem with Windows 7?

You can try resetting the preferences by holding Ctrl as soon as you start Bridge. If done fast enough, you'll get a dialog box before Bridge shows up from where you can reset your preferences. Also make sure that Bridge closes properly and it doesn't crash when closing.

Bridge does not remember last folder opened upon reboot of the OS

I recently re-installed Win 7 64 on a new HD, and after all the folderol of that operation (Windows updates, SP1 etc) Bridge does not seem to remember where it was when the computer is rebooted. When I open Bridge, all I get under Favorites/Folders is Desktop and Computer, under which I have to run down all the HD's, folders, subfolders again to find where I was last. It works correctly in XP but not Win7 64 Ultimate.
Am I missing something in the setup?

Firefox 7.0.1 does not remember/fill in username and password in Mac version although on Windows it works, so it's not the website preventing password being saved. what is up and how can this be fixed ?

There are several sites where I now have to type in my username and password each time I return, such as turnitin.com. (I'm a teacher and use this for grading). Friefox used to be able to remember this for that site and it still works at my office where I have a windows machine. Not working on my Mac OS 10.6.8 and it is really annoying to have to retype every single time; it's not a financial site or anything so why can't the Firefox browser remember and re enter my info?
And no, turnitin does not currently support Firefox 7 but it is only up to firefox 4 and up until now firefox at least worked to remember passwords.

Now up to Firefox 8 and the problem persists. Cannot go to the www.turnitin.com page and login as I used to do -- Firefox does not remember my username or password.

I'm using two displays and several desktops on my Mac (OS X 10.9.4).
When I need to restart Firefox, it remembers to open windows from last session in correct display, but does not remember which desktop was used for each window. So when the application starts, it opens all windows on a desktop which is currently active instead of reopening them on desktops used during the last session. How to fix the issue?

Thank you for your question, there is a add on I have been recommended to custom set up of opening windows in new monitors. It's called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/monitor-master/ Monitor Master].
However, in regards to the session remembering which monitor the window was open in, in the profile folder there is a file that stores window positions and dimensions. It is called localstore.rdf.
Please stay tuned for more investigation, as there are definitely bugs on file for similar issues. Pinpointing it is the hard part.

Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode.
In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working.
You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing".

Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js .

Windows 7 does not remember last "Save As" location

The saved password feature worked well, but the site I had saved the password for required that I change the password. I have found no way to update the password in Firefox. After I deleted the saved password, Firefox did not ask if I wanted the new password saved. When this happened before, I removed and re-installed Firefox, and then it worked. I have been in the tools section and went to options and under the privacy section I have selected to remember the passwords and it does not. I've have a problem with SL, that I can't solve. SL does not remember any of the settings I've done. When I drop a program icon into the dock it disappears after restarting the iMac (2011). All programs forget the last settings, means: Firefox does not show the bookmark bar although I placed it there, Pages forgets the last documents I've used, Mail shows me at every start the same old e-mail so that I have to scroll up to the latest mail received, windows sizes are not remembered and so on...
I have already tried to repair the library permissions. But the problem is still there.
I have created a new user account (with admin permissions) and in this account everything works fine.
May the re-installation that I've done a few days ago be the problem? I did this because: I just bought this iMac and copied my files from the old G5-Mac to the new one. But the new one did not want to open these files ("no permission"). So the only solution I found on the internet was to re-install SL. Now I can open all of my files, but SL does not want to remember any settings.
What can I do? Install SL again? Or is there an easy way to transfer my files from my usual user account to the new one I've created (that works fine)?

Bridge Does Not Automatically Bring Up Photoshop When the Photo is Double-Clicked

I have just purchased CS4 with Bridge for my new MacIntosh. In Bridge for the PC, when I double click a photo it automatically brings up Photoshop. On the Mac version, it gives me an error message saying that part of the application is not loaded. I completely uninstalled the program, and reloaded the application and still get the same message. So in Bridge on the Mac, to get around this, I right click the picture and go to "Open With" and there are two entries: "Open with CS4 (default)" and "Open with CS4." This works if I pick either option. My Windows version only has "Open with CS4 (default)" as the option.
I called Adobe support (in India?) with no solution.
I really like the double click option rather that using the pop-out menu choice. What is wrong with the Mac install, and how can I fix this issue?

This might mean that you have either 2 installs of CS4 (one on an other
disk?) or you did not use the the default application folder on root level
but have it installed in the user account application folder. Could you

When I try opening the raw images in Lightroom, the thumbnails say "Preview unavailable for this file" ... when I click "import" an error message pops up that says "The files are from a camera which is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom."

Unless I missed an announcement, today, LR6 isn't available, yet, right? Only Adobe employees and beta testers would know what LR6 does differently at this point and they're all sworn to secrecy.
LR5 is available as a standalone version.
PS-CS6 is available as a serial-number-licensed version.
PS-CC + LR5 are also available as a Photography Plan subscription for $10/month with a minimum OS versions of OSX 10.7 (and probably 10.8, soon) and Windows 7.
Bridge is part of PS, not a separate program.

Image.getScaledInstance() does not always work under Windows Vista

I've run into some intermittent image scaling problems under Windows Vista (minus Aero effects) that I never experienced with the same program, same image(s), running same Java version under XP. The images I'm using are all JPEGs, and the problem appears to affect approx 1 out of 3 grayscale images (no color ones so far) w/o respect to size (ie: small ones can be problems while larger ones will work). Java -version shows 1.6.0_02-b06. I was wondering if anyone else out there has seen this, or can point out what I may be doing wrong. Sample code to duplicate follows.

That does indeed appear to be a bug. I looks like it's having problems with the alpha value in the color model, so a possible workaround would be to change the color model the image uses before scaling. This may entail creating a new BufferedImage and drawing the old image into it.

Mini Bridge does not open in InDesign after installing 8.0.2 upgrade

This question was previously posted in the InDesign forum (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5833991#5833991), but it was suggested that I should cross post it here.
I installed InDesign CS6 upgrade 8.0.2. Now I cannot open Mini Bridge.
If Bridge is not already open,
     - selecting File | Browse in Bridge... or clicking on the Bridge button: Bridge opens - good!
     - control-click on the Bridge button: I get a Reset Settings error dialog - NOT good! I cancelled this and Bridge opened fullscreen okay.
     - alt-click on the Bridge button: Two Bridge applications opened fullscreen! - NOT good!
     - shift-click on the Bridge button: Bridge opens, but Mini Bridge does not! - NOT good!
If Bridge is already open,
     - selecting File | Browse in Bridge... or clicking on the Bridge button: the ruler bars dim and nothing else happens! - NOT good!
     - control-click on the Bridge button: Bridge opens maximized! - good!
     - alt-click on the Bridge button: the already opened Bridge, plus a new Bridge, both open! - is this normal?
     - shift-click on the Bridge button: the ruler bars dim and Mini Bridge does not open! - NOT good!
I have tried resetting the preferences in Bridge and rebooted after doing so.
My main concern is that I cannot get Mini Bridge to open at all. I can ignore the other problems mentioned above, if I can just get Mini Bridge to open.
This problem does not exist in Photoshop CS6.
I have restored my C: drive from backup twice and tried the upgrade a total of three times. The results are the same each time.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing my problem and how I might correct it? I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional SP1, 3.40 GHz Intel Core i7-3770 CPU, 32.0 GB installed memory.

Have you also tried that (ctrlAltShift while starting ID)?
I'm afraid I have not really more ideas and I am a Mac user and don't know anything relevant about Windows.
And ultimate you have of course the option to reinstall CS6 after an official uninstall in combination with the Adobe Clean Tool. But before doing so read all instructions and have a proper back up of all relevant customized settings, workspaces etc.

Bridge CS6 bug: closing Bridge does NOT end process

Bridge does NOT started at boot.
Windows 7 -64 (all current updates).
Photoshop CS6 13.0 extended
Bridge 5.0.0 399x64
After closing Bridge by clicking on the Close X or file/exit, the process 'bridge.exe' does not terminate and therefore thereafter trying to restart bridge fails.
Have to open up Task Manager, kill the bridge.exe process, in order to restart bridge.
The bug is so variable that just when it appears repeatable, something changes.
Any idea of what to look for?

This is NOT TRUE. "FYI: In Windows, to exit a program/application, clicking the Close button in the upper-right corner of the program window is the same as using the File menu, and click Exit."
If you click the red X you close the window and force close of the program. Any changes you made to program will not be saved if you have the option "start Bridge at login" checked. If you click File>Exit the program will go through the procedure to normally close down, and any changes you made will be saved.
I tried to follow your steps but was confused on steps 3,4,5,8,10.
I used 1,2,3,7,9,11. Bridge was closed. Perhaps with all your "browse to bridge you are opening multiple copies?

JDBC-ODBC Bridge does not support Unicode UTF-16

I'm using Jdeveloper 10.0.3 IDE in order to develop an application for data transformation between MS Access 2003 (source) and Oracle 10g (destination). Clients use Windows XP.
JDBC-ODBC Bridge still does not support Unicode UTF-16 which is the Charest used by MS Access 2000/2003.
Note that when I changed locale in regional setting, destination Connection to Ora10g failed to open a connection, it works only with English locale, so I can't change my locale information.
How can I read Unicode from source DB?

i also heared that JDBC-ODBC Bridge still does not support Unicode UTF-16,
but i guess this is not in my case.That's the key in fact. JDBC-ODBC Bridge does not support UTF-16, which is the charset used by MS Access 2000/2003.
