Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
In the Finder use the Go menu and select 'Go To Folder'. In the resulting window type
/Volumes
and hit return. A Finder window will open at the Volumes Folder. Is there an iPhoto Library Folder there? If so, drag it to the Desktop. Then Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and point it at this library. Is it intact?
1 Why did this happen?
Hate to answer a question with a question but: What format is this external disk?
2 How do I fix it?
Depends on the Answer to my Question.
3 Is there a better solution to organizing 32,000 photos?
If you're shooting RAW and high volumes of pics, explore Aperture.
4 Is iView or Portfolio the way to go?
Well iView is definitely well thought of, but it's owned by Microsoft now, so folks have expressed doubts about its' future on the Mac. Portfolio is a fine app, but for that money Aperture has many added benefits for working specifically with Photos and especially RAW.

If your program is Photoshop Elements 12, you have posted in the wrong forum. Somehow you thread got posted in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum.

If you have Photoshop Elements 12 and are in its Elements Organizer 12 and you want to edit of of the Elements Organizer 12 photos in the Photoshop Elements 12 Editor, I do not
find any right clicks in that maneuver. Have you tried...
    1. Select the Elements Organizer 12 thumbnail for the photo
    2. Look to the bottom of the workspace to where it shows an Editor button. Click on the tiny triangle to the right of the work Editor in the button.
You should then get a pop up menu with choices of External Editor, Photoshop, Video Editor. click Photoshop. Does that work to get
you into the Photoshop Elements 12 Editor workspace to edit that photo?

    Zabanya,
One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the (PDF contents, if any, of the) corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way.
Here are some websites where you can see whether it can rescue the actual file, and if it can, you may pay for a subscription to have it done,

  • My iphoto froze...doesn't want to open. What do i do?

My iphoto froze...doesn't want to open. What can i do?

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner.

  • TS2430 my iphone shut down. it doesn't want to open. what do i need to do?

iphone 4s shut down while my son is playing. i tried to on but it doesn't want to work. i need help.

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until it begins to start. Usually takes about 10 seconds. If still nothing, connect iPhone to Wall Charger for 10 minutes. It may turn ON itself, if still OFF, keep on charger and Reset, it may take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger.

  • ITunes doesn't want to open...

    Hi,
Recently iTunes has not been opening.  After my computer logs on (Windows 7 Home Premium x64), I click the shortcut for iTunes in my taskbar, but it doesn't open.  The process is running in Task Manager, and Bonjour Service is also running.  Then, when I try to end iTunes.exe process, it doesn't end.  I have to wait about 10 minutes after hitting End Task until the process ends, and then after it ends, iTunes opens fine.  Any ideas on why this is happening?  I have iTunes 11.1.3.8.
    Thanks!

    Howdy there noahm1996,
It sounds like you are getting some unexpecteded performance issues when trying to open iTunes. I want to recommend the troubleshooting steps in this article named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
    Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
    Create a new user account
By creating a new user account, you can determine if the issue affects a specific Windows user account or all accounts. Follow the steps below to create a new user account in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    Choose Start > Control Panel.
Open "Add or remove user accounts." (If you're using the Classic view in Windows Vista, open "User Accounts," and then open "Manage another account.")
Select "Create a new account" and follow the instructions to set up the account.
Once you create the new account, choose     Start > Log Off.
Log in to the new user account.
Open iTunes and see if the issue you're experiencing persists in this new user account.
If you have the same issue in the new user account, proceed to the "System-wide troubleshooting" section. If you don't experience the same issue, proceed to the "User-specific troubleshooting" section.

Are you saying you just want to change your home page to Yahoo? Not to worry, it's quite easy! You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].

  • How to open iPhoto when it doesn't want to open

After downloading 'upgrader' for iPhoto it doesn't open. How do you force open iPhoto?

    you can not
to get help you have to provide context and details
What do you have (version of oo and of the O)? Why won't it open? What exact error messages do you get? What has changed since it worked?
One guess is that you have upgraded form a pre iphoto '09 version and have not yet run the iphoto library upgrader - it is in the utilities folder in your applications folder - double click on it to run and then launch iPhoto

  • What to do if my messages app doesn't want to open

My phone froze, not actually. First when I charge my phone because it already said that I only have 2%, after about 20 min it still say it's 2% but it's charging. What happened is it's full battepry but it Doesn't say 100% it still lasted 24/7 while having 2%. I then next went into the settings because I wasn't connected to the wi-fi. When I clicked on wi-fi. It'll just not open it. It will freeze but when you press the home button. It will still bring you to the home page. So it wasn't actually froze. I can't power-off it because it won't work but it still puts my phone to sleep. Next day I can't now open my messages and some games. What should I Do?

  • My MacBook Pro doesn't want to open with my password or guess

I was deleting video in my iTunes storage and I received a pop notice to free up some space. I did mange to free up some space but once I restarted my MacBook I couldn't register back in with my password, all I get is a blank screen every time I try to go in.

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 3
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
    Step 4
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 5.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 5
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 6
Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 7
Repeat Step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 8
This step applies only to older Macs (not current models) that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery. Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a boot failure. Typically the boot failure will be preceded by loss of the startup disk and system clock settings. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 9
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. If you can't get to an Apple Store, go to another authorized service provider.

    dyld: Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/ScriptingBridge.framework/Versions/A/ScriptingBridge
    Referenced from: /Applications/Photo Booth.app/Contents/MacOS/Photo Booth
    Reason: image not found
This happens in two iMac Intel Core Duo, with Tiger 10.4.11.

    Hi Adrian
the error literally means what it says -part of photobooth is trying to open a file /System/Library/Frameworks/ScriptingBridge.framework/Versions/A/ScriptingBridge but it can't & clearly photobooth won't run without it.
you can look in /System/Library/Frameworks/ScriptingBridge.framework/Versions/A/ with Finder to confirm that the file is missing; sometimes just one file disappears like that.
However, perhaps ignore the above, since a quick search for where you'd find the scriptingbridge framework to download or reinstall from disk suggests that it was never in Tiger at all - and that you might be running Photobooth 2 ( a Leopard app ). do a get info on Photobooth via Finder & see what version it says... or check the full crash report.
