Bridge email

When I try to open the emails delivered using the BB bridge the email client on the playbook gets stuck displaying a white screen then black about every one or two seconds. Rebooting doesn't seem to help.

It is a bad code in an html email, when u restore the app data. You are putting back the back email.

    Is it possible to copy and paste in bridged email and BBM? As a workaround I copy and paste content in my phone and save it as a draft to finish editing it in PB later.

  • Has anyone else had Bridge Email suddenly fail to load?

    I have been plugging along just fine on BB Bridge since I got my Playbook last summer.  Suddenly, Bridge Email will not load.  It flashes a blank screen, then the outline of the email program, then back to black, then the outline again, black, etc., etc.  This goes on indefinitely and email will not load.
    All other Bridge applications are working as usual... calendar, contacts, BBM, etc. all work fine.
    Email on the Blackberry phone itself has been completely unaffected and works fine.
    Have rebooted the Playbook, done a full shutdown, un-paired, re-paired; no solutions.
    Will check BB Desktop Manager to see if my most recent backup includes applications/app data. (I back up weekly)
    Has anyone else experienced a problem like this?  Can the core applications, such as Bridge Email (on the Playbook) be downloaded/re-installed?

    First off this has nothing to do with the OS2.0.1.358. I have had this problem since april 20,2011.
    2.  If you wouldvhave searched the forums, you would have come across threads about this specific issue. The cause bad code in a html email.  I find it is an email from this forum.
    There are 2 workarounds.
    The first is leaving mail on your server for less time.  It may clear up.  
    The second is to do a full backup and then doing a security wipe.  Then a restore with out the app day.  Restoring the app data will only put the bad code on the pb.
    Make sure you are also running the most up to date bridge software on the phone.

  • Bridge email not loading...

    bridge kinda works... ive never been able to connect bridge browser, however everything else worked fine... until today... all of a sudden, my bridge email stopped responding ... restarted both torch and pb...now it onoy stays at white screen with the green circle (loading...)..
    anybody else here experiencing issues with bridge email and browser??

    ** UPDATE ***
    just realized when you click on top left part of mail bridge app u can chose which mail boxes to view and sort..
    so now i was able to see that some mail accounts where not loading and others are okay.maybe its an issue with my torch...?

  • Playbook bridge email viewing suggestions

    It would be really nice if you could do the following while viewing bridged email from blackberry:
    1) zoom & pan the email text. Sometimes rich text email have fonts so small you almost need a magnifier to view. It's a shame in a pinch-to-zoom enabled device I cannot zoom in & out of the email!
    2) is there a way to download pdfs or other docs via clicking the hyperlinks in emails? for that matter, downloading docs from hyperlinks does not seem to work on the playbook browsers either!

  • Bridge email issue

    From day 1 till I updated the OS on Sunday, i had no issues with the bridge email. Since then, when opening my email from either the icon or from the notification in the top left, the window opens blank white with the green loading icon, then the screen goes gray for a moment...then back to the loading screen then back to gray. In the end my email never loads. Is anyone else experiencing this, or have a fix? So far i have had fun finding fixes and work arounds for the playbook, but this is really frustrating!

    I had something similar, not after an upgrade, it just happened. A hard reboot fixed it. Simple to try, just hold down the power button for about 10 seconds. Hope it works. 

  • No copy & paster between Playbook Browser and Bridge Email?!

    Can anyone confirm the problem I see and maybe know whether RIM is working on it?
    Quite often I need to paste text portions out of a website and include it in an email and send it.
    In this case I copied the web adress in the PB browser and tried to paste it into the Bridged Email App.
    No success, there is no paste option available. Pasting to a native PB app works!
    This is a huge drawback and I am sure many other will discover this problem, sooner or later.
    Is the adressed to RIM?

    Bridge related issue related to language configuration of the PlayBook was solved by the following steps,
    1.Unpair your devices;
    2.Change language to default English;
    3. reboot PlayBook;
    4.Pair the devices and bridge;
    5.Change the language of the PlayBook to your prefered one.
    Hope that solves your issue.

    Blackberry Bridge – Email goes into a loop
    The indicator on the top left will show I have 4 emails.   I then open BB Bridge and open Messages – I see the shape of two rectangles filling the screen, then a full white screen, then black   then back to rectangles, white, black …again and again ..   All the while the green circle (hourglass) goes around.    It is  as if it has hit a programming loop.   I can exit it, and go to other Bridge options such as Contacts, calendar and they all work perfect.
    I have tried restarts, I have tried breaking the ling and re connecting   I have tried removing and reinstalling bridge on my Torch
    It was working …. And I can’t think of any install or changes made since it worked.
    Any suggestions?     I have run out of options.

    The procedure that you are suggesting does not work with this specific problem, I have personnaly tried it, I even re-installed the OS on my Bold 9900, I have a new OS 7.1 on it, and the I was forced when I attempted to make a backup to reset the Playbook to factory setting, and I still have the same problem as mentioned by the OP

  • Native Email vs. Bridge Email

    If you already have your email configured to your mobile device, and it is bridged to the playbook, when you set up native email with the recent update, can these be consolidated under native email? I setup the same email on the playbook native email, and it is working, however, when I send, delete or read an email, it does not sync with the bridged email and email on device. Should the native email not recognise your accounts once you bridge your device to the playbook? Thanks

    both are different types and do not interact with each other
    the mail server is the common point, so web mail, native meail, BB phone mail, PC mail client and anything else will all behave a lil different between each other as none are the same.
    but the mailbox it self will replicate the changes and the others conntections to it will get updated depending on their individual settings and times.

  • PLAYBOOK BRIDGE - EMAIL ACCESS - MULTI SELECT DELETE FREEZE UP PROBLEM

    I just purchased my BlackBerry Playbook Yesterday 04-30-2011, I updated to the latest OS Version: 1.0.1.1710
    My playbook has been working awesome, with the exception of only having a few apps out so far... I love it. (I know the apps will come soon) 
    I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 on Sprint with OS Version:5.0.0.1030
    When the bridge is connected it's working great. The only problem I have seen so far is this:
    I've tried to check my email on my blackberry and multi select the emails as I go to delete them. When I delete the emails off my blackberry through the bridge one at a time it works GREAT. However when I use the multi select feature of the PlayBook to choose multiple emails to delete all 5-8 emails at a time I tap DELETE PlayBook ask me if I want to delete on device and/or online and, I choose on device and online. My playbook appears it will delete them like if I had selected one at a time, however it doesn't delete them, it's like the bridge freezes. Playbook acts fine and I can actually exit out of the bridge message window. I have to do a battery pull on my phone (BlackBerry Curve 8530) to get it to unfreeze. I've tried a couple of times with no success on this whole process. This is my first time posting here... Can someone help me with who I need to notify about this to get this issue resolved or at least addressed/duplicated? Anyone have any ideas? I could just individually delete the email but I like the feature of deleting multiple emails by selecting them and placing a "CHECK" beside the ones I would like to delete. Any questions please let me know!

    I can delete multiple messages one at a time on my Bold 9700 way faster than I can multi-select and delete on the Playbook.  Sometimes mutli-select works, sometimes it hangs, sometimes it causes Bridge email to just close.  On the Bold, delete just works.

  • Bridge Email Folders Don't Match Email Folder Structure on my Torch 9850

    Hi,
    Wondering if anyone else has run into this.
    Shortly after getting a new BB and the PB and using them, I re-arranged my folders in lotus notes to make it easier to sort through them on the BB and PB. After rearranging, the folder structure updated on the BB, but it isn't full reflected on the playbook (orphan folders, old folder that were deleted when re-arranging).
    Any ideas or solutions? I've tried forgetting the bridged phone, and wiping the playbook back to factory, but the folder structure remains?

    This is not the case, I have 11 email accounts set up in TB and all are POP.
    And as I attempt to delete partial folder lists, as TB will not import an entire set of folders, to try another approach, TB is so slow!
    It will only allow me to delete an individual folder, nothing with a subfolder . . . this thing is very hard to work with and unresponsive!!
    Perhaps I'm trying to use the wrong email program, TB!!

  • Bridge Email Limitations - Spelling & Copy/Paste

    Another thing that needs to be corrected (maybe I'm just missing the ability) before this truly can go corporate wide is the ability in email via the bridge to correct misspelled words and copy/paste. The spell changes is a bigger issue. I know it works on the applications on the device, but its a big need in email. Again hopefully this will be corrected in a software update in the near future.

    I found in the bridge mode when writing emails the spelling errors would show with a red underline. But, I found the spelling corrector does not work.
    It is possible to copy and paste in the bridge mode. The process is very much like in the Word To Go program. You can look up the details for this in the help system.
    I found getting around for critical positions with the touch screen to be a bit critical, and slows me down. Using the spell corrector, or copy and paste takes extra effort.
    In consideration that the Playbook is a new technology, and from what I have been told and read the operating software and programs will be going through much development, the inovation of this device is genius. I do enjoy using it, and find it to be an excellent small computer for emails, writing basic text files, and browsing the net.
    I managed to get the Playbook GPS working with the Bing Maps program. I downloaded a free compas program. Because of the size of the screen, it makes for an excellent GPS device. From what I found the GPS worked only when outside, and using the Playbook in the tethered mode so it can download the necessary map and function data.

  • Blackberry Bridge - Email Folder issue

    Hi,
    I am experiencing issues on the View Folder or Save to Folder for email via the BB Bridge applicaiton.
    The Pop up window appears, but the list is blank.
    View Folder is visible on the BB Handset and has no issues.
    Any suggestions ?

    I am able to open folder up and move messages to another folder.
    Are you on BES?
    Do you have redirection enabled on those folders?
    What BB handset do you have?
    What BB handset OS are you on? On your device, type in a new message MYVER and a space after to see and report back please.

  • Wordwrap in Bridge email

    This is a major source of annoyance for me, but may well be due to my own lack of understanding:
    When i receive an email on my PB though the bridge with my Torch, for the first second of viewing the text wordwraps perfectly, but then before my very eyes the wordwrap disappears and I am left endlessly scrolling left to right to read what are sometimes very long messages.
    Can someone shed some light on why this happens, is it a setting I need to change or is this just one of the faults inherent with the application.

  • Bridge email only showing last 20 messages -ideas?

    just started yesterday but when the Playbook bridges to my BB and the view is All Messages it only loads the last 20 messages to see. I have 3 personal email boxes and 1 work email set up. all functions on BB with respect to email work fine. when you open email you can edit and reply fine. i individually selected each email box and it is one that seems to have problems and wont load. any ideas? happen to others? solution?

    we have one playbook bridged with a tourch, 1 BES account 1 pop account. Tourch firmware is up2date, playbook firmware up2date, bridge version is last available.
    Suddenly i am also able to see only the last 20 entries of the BES account
    Did someone have any ideas?
    tried: unpaired, deleted bluetooth entries, new pairing, hard reset of playbook and tourch
    When i pair the playbook with another tourch everything works fine. Could it be the numer of emails in the BES account (885 emails)?
