Bridge icons are invisible

After downloading the latest Playbook update, all my Blackberry Bridge icons are invisible.  You can see the title for each  icon (Calendar, Messages, Tasks, Bridge Browser etc.) and the apps work if you click on the spot where the icon is located, but all you see above the title of each icon is the Playbook wallpaper.
anyone else with this problem?

It happened to me yesterday.
I just restarted the PlayBook and they came back fine.

  • Icons are Invisible...

    Hello!
Yesterday I downloaded and installed OS X Mavericks!! also, I installed all the updates required, to make sure that all my software where compatible with this new version! Everything seemed fine, on my early 2010 Macbook , but, today, for no aparent reason, on my Launchpad, most of the icons are invisible!!
This also happens on some of the files I put on the desktop!! Sometimes some of the files I put there, simple get invisible!!!!
I tried Disk Utility several times... but no luck!! Might this be a bug??
I undestand that this is a new version, and it's the first time I installed a new version on the same day it gets
available. But I didn't make a USB boot disk of 10.8 and I don't know how to downgrade my OS X version (if such is possible!)
(The text is in Portuguese, my native languague!)
Thank you in advace for any info you may give me!
All the best to all of you! :-)

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.dock.plist file to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.

  • Bridge icons are white boxes

I have Bridge ver 1.0.4.6 with PS2. Everything was fine until I had to reformat my PC and reinstall. The first time I launched Bridge it said something about the database and the message went away. Now all the thumbnails are white boxes. It doesn't matter what view, how large the icons ... everything is white which makes the product useless.
Please help. THis is seriously impacting my workflow.
    TKs.

Have you tried resetting the preferences? With PS2 hold down crtl alt shift keys when starting Bridge. Have to be quick. When successful will get a reset window. Choose all 3 options.
Also, make sure the directory where the cache is stored is the same as the directory Bridge is looking at, especially if you do did not have a default location selected.

  • Icons are invisible on the dock

If you put the mouse on the dock then it pops up with the name of the app but you never see the icon. See screen shot.

  • Stack icons are invisible and labels grey with no way to identify them!

Why is my stack not working? I can't identify anything in my stack but the stack does work ie i can click on the icon, which i can see but not identify, and it will open a document i have downloaded?

My stacks icons do this as well. My Applications stack (which uses a grid view) works fine, even when this issue is affecting the others and if you change them to grid view, you get labels and pics. I have had this happen twice . . . the first time I logged out and back in and that fixed the problem. killall Dock in terminal did not help. I have no idea what causes/d this . . . it seems completely random. I'd hate to have to resign myself to a log out/in or restart everytime this starts happening.

  • Strange saved file icons are invisible

When I save a project, there seems to be no icon in the finder. Only the name appears. If I click on it I can see a gray transparent square where the icon should be. Any ideas why?

  • Icons in menu bar and standard menus are invisible!

    I'm having an issue with OS X 10.8.2 on my 15" (not Retina) Macbook Pro (late 2011, Core i7 2.4 GHz w/ 16GB RAM and SSD);
The majority of system icons in the menu bar "extras" area (that is, to the right near the date/time in the menu bar) are blank. The area where the icon would be located is responsive to clicks, and drops a menu item down upon click, but the icons themselves are invisible. The same goes for Spotlight which has a spot for it's icon and responds to the hotkey of Apple + Spacebar, but the icon itself is invisible. The only icons that are visible are third party programs that run and place themselves there such as Little Snitch, and the battery low ("red" battery) indicator icon; other battery icons are invisible.
Also invisible/blank are the icons for going back and forward in a Finder window as well as the back/forward icons in System Preferences sub-dialogs. The icons for choosing labels, changing the way Finder windows display (their view options), and a few others that I cannot name as I cannot see them are invisible as well. Icons that would normally display to the left of "All My Files", "AirDrop", "Applications", "Desktop", et cetera in the Finder window do not display, either.
I have tried installing the 10.8.2 Combo Update and using the Disk Utility "Repair" and "Verify" Filesystem options but neither fixed the issue. I have tried deleting the cached plist files for the SystemUIServer as well but there was no change in the icon display (or, that is, lack of display!).
I am running Mac OS X 10.8.2 (including the Combined Update) on the late-2011 Macbook Pro 15" w/ 2.4 GHz Core i7 (default 4GB memory and 750gb HDD; upgraded to 16GB of RAM and a Crucial M4 256GB SSD). I cannot recall if the problem started after I updated any system software or not; I upgraded to 10.8.2 via buying OS X Mountain Lion from the App Store so that I would have a copy on USB to install after replacing my HDD with my SSD. Everything worked fine on fresh installation, and I am not sure at what point the icons disappeared.
Does anyone have any insight into this problem, and more importantly, how to correct it? Please see the screenshots below for a proper illustration of the problem I am experiencing. The sole icon visible, with the two columns, is Little Snitch 3.0.
^-- Clicking the menu bar battery icon (except, there is no icon!)
^-- Finder window with the icons for back/forward, view options, icons for location list items on the left, etc. missing
^-- System Preferences dialog, with icons for the back/forward function missing.
^-- Help window with the icons for back/forward and some other function missing.
    Thank you in advance!

I have a similar issue. When the computer goes into "Hibernate" mode -- that is, it loses power while sleeping and it writes the contents of it's memory to disk in order to boot into that exact configuration when woken up -- many of my icons when Apple-Tab'ing to another application appear as static. They look like a slightly colorized version of the "static snow" you see when tuning into a station that doesn't exist on a UHF antenna television. Also, icons in Chrome such as web sites "favorite icons" or favicon.ico (the icons that appear in the URL bar and bookmarks) will be scrambled in the same fashion , at first , until the actual icon is loaded.
Between this, my menu bar and finder icons not displaying, and being unable to boot into safe mode, I'm getting quite ******. I have no idea what the **** is going on with my Macbook Pro. The issue of the scrambled icons actually existed prior to installing an SSD and doing a fresh install of Mountain Lion. I may end up throwing in the towl and re-installing the operating system but I'm sure SOMETHING will happen. It seems the latest update, 10.8.2, is absolute garbage.
What the ****, Apple? And I really don't want to take the computer to the morons at the Apple Store. They are not "geniuses" by any measure.

  • Adobe Bridge Icon is Everywhere, What's with that?

I have literally hundreds & hundreds of the [Adobe Bridge Icon] with the text following: Adobe Bridge Cache .bc or .bct.........
These are everywhere imaginable, open any folder and see them. They are in the most unlikely places that have no connection to photoshop at all. The icons are usually paired, one with the .bc and the other with the .bct
I'm always trashing them, it doesn't affect anything, nothing changes or happens by doing it. But, it's very annoying, there can be long strings of them especially in folders of pics. They can & do appear anywhere/everywhere but usually just in pairs, in or outside of subfolders but ultimately within a folder. Not sure, but come to think of it, they may appear on the desktop periodically. Also, when I do trash them they always seem to reappear later....maybe not all of them but most-
Is there a way to stop this?
    I'm running Ps CS2
    My system:  17" iMac G4: 1.35GHz, 1GB SDRAM, 80GB HD, 200GB Maxtor Ext.HD, Leopard  10.5.8.
    **XLR8 MAChSpeed G4 7457 CPU+512 Cache**

This has nothing to do with Photoshop. Those files are Bridge cache files. In CS2, there was an option to use Central or Distributed cache. It sounds like you have the Distributed option selected.
    [From: http://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=483796]
By default, Adobe Bridge stores its cache in a central location. To make  the cache more robust you can choose the Use Distributed Cache Files  When Possible option in the Bridge Advanced Preferences dialog box. When  this option is chosen, Bridge stores the cache for each folder in that  folder. Doing so makes the cache more robust and eliminates the need to  export the cache before burning a CD or DVD. However, this creates a  pair of cache files in every folder. They are normally hidden, but you  can view them if you choose View > Show Hidden Files. There are other  caching options in the Cache submenu of the Tools menu, and in the  Bridge Advanced Preferences.

  • My own Google Map icons are not visible in Firefox 8

I have many Google Maps on my website and they contain both default Google icons and my own icons, each with their own URLs. They work correctly in all other browsers, and Firefox 7. However, yesterday I loaded Firefox 8. In Firefox 8 the Google default icons are still visible but my own icons are now invisible, but their placeholders are still there. They are still visible in other browsers. Also, if I now try and add one of my icons to a map, the process seems to work correctly, including a placemark name appearing, but the icon is invisible. The invisible icon is definitely there because you can click the placemark and be taken to the correct position on the map for editing, but the icon is not visible.

Same problem with my maps. You posted that this issue is solved at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=25 but it is NOT SOLVED!!!!! I'm not a web developer, so I don't want a solution where I have write code or be a developer to figure it out. It works in every other browser & in FF7, so why can't you just figure it out & fix it, instead of making us have to write code or use our own developers to figure it out??

  • Office 2010 / Exchange 2010 - Attachments in EML-Emails are invisible

We are investigating a problem that seems to pop up with Exchange / Outlook 2010.
This is the absolutly the same problem that Clemens Wunder wrote about in his tread:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/thread/afce3bd0-f8a4-419b-986a-0560ebff5f8f
    Problem:
We got several eml-files in a Management System and those have attachmentes (word, pdf whatever) included.
If i open those EML Files in Outlook 2010 (this works if the Registry is apropriate) the Email is opening but the Attachments are "invisible"...
If i now save the Mesage from within Outlook 2010 as a MSG File and open this one the attachments are back...
I searched for bout one week now for a solution but i still don't get it why this should be happening.
    My Specs:
    - Windows 7
    - Outlook 2010
    - Exchange 2010 (migrated from 2003)
    Fact:
The same problem seems also to happen with Outlook 2007 and 2003 since the migration of Exchange 2003 to 2010.
Those EML Files are from within a data management system and are stored as eml since bout 4 years.
Please don't send answers like "Use Windows Mail" - this is not a solution for this matter because I can't.
Exchange / Outlook is used at every customer of our company so WM can't be the solution...
Thanks for your advices and tips
    Roman

    Hi Roman,
To make sure I understand things correctly…..
You have EML files generated by another program. Emails have one or more attachments.
You have copied the EML files into your Outlook 2010 profile’s mail folder.
When you open the item in the folder, you have to open or save the item. –You have HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Outlook.File.eml.14\shell\Open\command set
to use Outlook 2010 to open the file.
When you open the EML file, the message opens but the attachments are not visible.
In actuality, when you open the EML file, Outlook is saving the file to your “..\..\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\” location.
To see what Outlook is doing I started a Process Monitor trace,
then dragged a Windows Live Mail EML message with a Word doc attached over to my Outlook 2010 Inbox.
When I open the eml item, I am prompted to Open or Save the item. I opt for Open and the message with attachment is opened with Outlook 2010.
The trace shows accessing the registry to find out what to use to open the EML file and then it shows the attached file being created in
Temporary Internet Files. The attached file is seen,
    but nothing happens to it.

    28:14.1
    OUTLOOK.EXE QueryDirectory   jahawk
    C:\Users\jahawk\Documents\Help me.docx NO SUCH FILE
From the opened EML file, you click File | Save As | And then save the item as an .MSG file.
When you drag the MSG into your Outlook profile’s mail folder, the mail with attachments is visible.
Looking at the mail folder, the EML item does not have a mail icon associated to it. The item shows no Attachment icon, because it cannot be
read in yet. –You’d need to open the EML file in Outlook to view the message with attachment(s).
Looking at the mail folder, the MSG item is an Outlook mail item and the attachments are showing up.
So, let me ask the following:
    How was the item created?
Does this happen with any file that is attached?
In Windows Live Mail, attachments have a lot LESS properties associated to them
Outlook 2010 actually has a PR_ATTACHMENT_HIDDEN property that can toggled to hide an attachment.
What happens from Outlook Web Access? –You will have to right-click “Save Target As” on the attached eml message, first. When you
open the saved “E-mail Message” from the save location, what results?
Is your anti-virus possibly scanning the file? –“..\...\Temporary Internet Files\Outlook.content….”
Anyways, to be honest, I’d have to have a copy of the EML file to be able to (hopefully) explain what is happening.
If I had the file, I would use MFCMapi or OutlookSpy to dump the EML message’s properties after I’ve added it to my mailbox. I’d
then open it and save it as an MSG file type. From there, I’d save the MSG file’s properties off and then compare the 2 sets of properties. And, the item has an Attachment Table that will contain the attached files. Each attachment will have its
    own set of properties.
From an Outlook created message with attachment, you could compare the attachment’s properties to the props on the affected message.
From a Windows Live Mail message with attachment, you could compare the attachment’s properties to the props on the affected message.
For the kind of troubleshooting we'd need to do, I would suggest calling and opening a support incident with us. That would allow us to work with you
at a much deeper level. For a case like this, a debug trace of opening the message from in Outlook 2010 would likely be necessary.
Sorry I didn’t have better information for you.

  • File icons are missing from my ML desktop. Name is there but the icon is missing.  How do I fix this?

Some of my file icons are missing from the Mountain Lion desktop.  The file name is there but not the icon.  The file can be opened when the words are double clicked.  The files show up properly in Adobe Bridge.  These are Photoshop files.  How do I fix the problem?

Get Info (cmd-i) on one of these files. In the "Open with" tab is PS selected?
If that's so it may be some corruption LaunchServices. These are only cache files but can get corrupted.

  • Bridge icons will NOT work on Playbook

Downloaded Bridge on my 9700 and Playbook. It shows up but can't open any of the applications - the icons are there (messages, contacts, bridge browser, calendar, BBm, memopad, tasks, bridge files) but cannot open them!!!
I uninstalled and reinstalled the bridge app on the phone and that still didn't work. I am running the new OS 2 version if that makes a difference?
I can SEE four email messages right on the Playbook screen waiting for me,  but I just can't access them via the Playbook......... any suggestions???

you can revert back to OS 1 after 24 hours of registering.
you need to debrick to do it.
First I would like you to do a Back Up of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software.
This can be downloaded for free from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
After the Back Up is complete I need you to unplug your PlayBook and then push and hold down the Power Button until the unit Force Powers Off.
Now, while Desktop Software is still open on your computer and the PlayBook Powered Off, Connect the PlayBook to your computer.
You should see and error screen from Desktop Software pop up that has the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
    QUICKLY choose the Update option.
This will erase all the information off of your PlayBook and Re-Write the Software back onto it. Once it's complete your PlayBook will need to go back through the setup wizard, and you can then perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your information. The only thing that won't come back after the restore are the apps that you downloaded from App World but they can be easily Re-Installed using the My World feature in App World.

  • Bridge icon missing in systray

The Bridge Icon in the windows system tray isn't visible anymore, even if Bridge.exe seems to run after I closed the Bridge window. I cannot start or re-open Bridge from the system tray - even in the extended version of the tray where all icons are shown, the Bridge Icon is missing. The problem is also that I open an excel file from Bridge and it keeps wanting to notify my to close the file because I am working on it. If I open teh excel sheet through Windows Explorer, its fine. Anyone have an answer for this please?

This should not happen. Sometimes, Adobe Photo Downloader icon takes some time in appearing in systems tray.

  • What happened to the preview window & Bridge icon?

In PSCS6, I don't have a preview window in  the "Open" dialog box. In PSCS5, when I clicked on an image file, I had a thumbnail preview. Also, the Bridge icon in the toolbar  disappeared, which was visable in PSCS5.
    Don

Lost two features, Photoshop has.  The Adobe Jedi have waved hands and said, "these are not the features you're looking for".
You can conceivably put a Bridge icon on the desktop near where it used to be, and leave a little room outside of the Photoshop application frame where you can see it, or use the File - Browse In Bridge menu item, or Alt-Control-O (or the Mac equivalent if you're on that system).
If you're on Windows, you could consider getting a codec pack that will provide you thumbnail images right in the dialog and Explorer windows.  I can recommend the one that I use:  The FastPictureViewer Codec Pack.
