Bridge in PSE 10?

Bridge came with PSE 8 for MAC OS. Does PSE 10 for Windows OS have Bridge?

Bridge was dropped with PSE9. Both  Windows and Mac now come with Organizer although it's possible to use iPhoto with Editor set up as your external editor.
If you already have Bridge you can continue using it, and if you have CS5 you can continue updating Bridge e.g. with Camera Raw updates. It’s just not possible to update Bridge with earlier versions of CS and Elements.

  • Bridge in pse 8 / pse 9 for Mac

Hi. I use pse 8 for Mac and is fund of Bridge. Can anyone tell me if pse 9 includes Bridge in (pretty much) the same version.
Or to put it another way: Would I benefit of an upgrade?

Yes, there's no bridge in PSE 9, but you can keep on using Bridge CS4 if you don't want to use organizer. The only problem is that you can't update the raw converter in Bridge anymore, so you won't see thumbnails for newer camera models:

  • When I use Adobe Bridge with PSE 8 is asks for my serial

I just launched Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac and chose to use Adobe Bridge to find images. Adobe Bridge opened and I found the image I wanted but when I double-clicked on the image a Photoshop Set-up dialogue box appears asking for my serial. So, I found my serial in my email because I bought the digital download and it says my serial is wrong. The weird thing is is that PSE is running and works fine. So why is Adobe Bridge asking me for my serial and rejecting it?
    thanks
    Jerry

Subversion is a program/system that stores files on a server, does versioning, etc. We use it principally for code management but also for our image files. It integrates into Windows explorer so you can check-in/check-out files, etc.
I was just wondering if there was a way to use Adobe Bridge as the front-end for it somehow.

  • Incomplete "save" to Bridge from PSE

After editing a RAW picture in PSE and choosing "save as" to a JPEG and directing the save to the same folder as the original , it often shows up saved in Bridge as an incomplete pic.  Half of the pic is neon colored lines and the rest is the original picture.  Am i doing something wrong?

That did clear up an incomplete pic, but when I tried to save another one the same thing happened so I purged again the that one cleared up.  I shouldn't have to do this every time.  And yes, when I click on the incomplete pic it opens up perfectly in PSE for editing, it's just the thumbnail that won't complete.

  • Batch edit date & time in PSE 8 Mac/Bridge

OK, maybe it's jet lag. I uploaded all my vacation photos, and realized I had forgotten to adjust camera date/timezone. I remember that earlier versions of PSE Windows had the ability to batch adjust the date/time shot, but I can't find it in Bridge CS4 or PSE 8 Mac. I really don't want to do it manually for a few hundred photos. Is the capability hiding in there somewhere? thx

Thanks, Barbara. One of the utilities you mentioned -- PhotoInfo -- does have a very easy batch mode for date/time change. And, of course, so does iPhoto.
Unfortunately, they both run afoul of another detail: there are multiple date/time stamps stored in a JPG. iPhoto and PhotoInfo both read/write the CreateDate XMP metadata field, but Bridge and PSE appear to base "Date Created" on the value stored in the DateTimeOriginal EXIF field. I haven't tried GraphicConverter yet, nor EXIFtool, which definitely handles all timestamps but is command-line only. I have some tools on the Windows side that I'll try first.

  • Help for using camera raw in PSE 8/Bridge for Mac for the Canon 7D

Recently purchasing the Canon 7D, taking a few test photos in Raw, then trying to use Camera Raw in PSE8/Bridge for Mac is a problem.  I cannot figure it out.  Can anyone help this frustrated, novice computer user?

You need to update the camera raw plug-in for bridge and PSE 8 separately (they use two different copies). In Bridge, just go to Help>Updates which will install, I think, ACR 5.7, which  works with your camera. (You can't update bridge beyond that version).
For PSE 8, go here, download the latest version and follow the instructions in the readme file.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=40&platform=Macintosh
Note that the directions may tell you that you can overwrite the old plug-in. That isn't true--you must remove it before putting the new one in there.

  • How to stop Bridge CS 4 from calling Photoshop vs PSE 8

I just installed the trial version of PSE 8 and right away ran into this:
    1. Chose "Browse with Bridge" in PSE 8 menu.
    2. Bridge CS 4 launches and I use it to navigate to target folder (with photos in jpeg format).
    3. I highlight desired image in Bridge's browser and double-click.
    4. This action launches Photoshop which in turn opens the image I clicked on.
Obviously, since I called Bridge "from" PSE 8, I assumed that by clicking on an image in Bridge the image would be opened in PSE 8.
How do I change this behavior so that the image is opened in PSE 8?
I checked PSE 8 preferences as well as Bridge prefs and see no way to associate the two for the desired result.
The only "success" is when I highlight an image and use the "Open With" contextual menu to choose PSE 8.
I doubt it matters but I keep my images on a separate RAID storage drive.  About 99% are saved as jpeg, a few are PSD and TIFF.
My machine: Mac Pro quad core intel, OS 10.5.8.

Okay, thanks. Sounds obvious but I've been using alternative ways of organizing.  Bridge is based on the (reasonable) assumption that users will want to completely integrate with Adobe apps.   I'll just have to get used to switching Associations when I work in Photoshop rather than PSE.

  • OpenGL in PSE 8.0 for Mac?

I can't seem to figure out how to enable OpenGL acceleration in Elements for Mac. When I look under "System Info" it says disabled and I would like to enable it. Any ideas?

  • Does Adobe Photoshop Elements include Adobe Bridge?  Or is that a separate purchase?

Does Adobe Photoshop Elements include Adobe Bridge?  Or is that a separate purchase?

I don't have a recent version of Photoshop Elements. I have never seen anyone mentioning Bridge with PSE. Brigde is usually installed with Adobe CS Suites of software like the CS 5 Design Suite or CS 5 Production Suite or CS 6 Master Collection.

  • Bridge CS3 slowdown, upgrade to 5 or 6 on Mac?

My OSX is 10.8.4 and I use PSE10 for mac with Bridge CS3. Recently, I have observed a major slowdown in bridge and some annoying interactions with PSE10. I have about 17,000 jpegs (of insects) organized in hierarchical folders, i.e., taxonomically. I have 4 GB of memory, recently installed.
    1) It now takes several seconds to scroll down through the images in any folder.
    2) Often, when I shift-click to highlight files (to move or rename them), PSE10 opens the files when I don't want it to. Very annoying. I have taken to waiting for a full second or two before I do anything.
    3) Bridge also crashes frequently, at least once a day, and I use it every day.
OK, would upgrading to Bridge CS5 or 6 fix this problem? Or is this a system thing? And would Bridge CS5 or 6 work with PSE10?

    I agree with Curt,
    in addition to his post:
OK, would upgrading to Bridge CS5 or 6 fix this problem? Or is this a system thing? And would Bridge CS5 or 6 work with PSE10?
Bridge is designed for use with Creative Suite applications an PS elements is not part of the Creative Suite or the Creative Cloud. It might be possible to use Bridge with PSE for opening files in but the advantage of using start up scripts for Photoshop is not available for PS elements.
I believe PSE 8 for Mac is the only version of PSE that came with Bridge (version 3, part of CS4) so that might be a route for you to follow as the cheapest option.
Also every new version of Bridge needs a new cache for all the files. (not a big deal but it takes some time with all your files. You have to select the main folder and use 'show items from subfolders' and then let it run overnight to recache again.
Can you specify what computer you are using. While the minimum required RAM is still advertised as 1 GB you certainly will gain from putting as much RAM as possible in your machine.

  • How Do I Get Thumbnails to Appear in Bridge CS4 on a Mac?

When I upload raw (Nikon NEF) files from a memory card via a USB port, the images upload into Bridge, but appear as icons, not thumbnails.  The icons are all labeled NEF NX2.  Also, I get an error message stating that, although the upload was successful, conversion from .NEF to .dng files was unsuccessful. I am a new user to Adobe Bridge and PSE.  The uploaded files open fine as thumbnails in PSE, but not Bridge.
I am operating on a MacBook Pro, using MAC OSX 10.6.4.  I have Nikon's NX2 software installed on my machine, but not running when I am running Bridge.
    Can anyone help?  Thanks.

In Bridge, go to Help>Updates, and bridge should take care of itself. You can only update bridge as far as ACR 5.7.
To update the PSE version of the plug-in, go here, and download the latest update. (You might want to try 6.1, since a fair number of people seem to be having trouble with 6.2). Follow the instructions in the readme, but you do need to remove the old version of the plug-in first, regardless of what the instructions may say.

  • How use easily photoshop elements 12 and bridge cs4 ?

i use bridge to classify my photos .I would like to buy photoshop elements 12 but I don't want to use the organiser (i tryed before but all my photos are in double xith the organiser and its take too much place in my mac!)
is it possible to use bridge and PSE 12 easily ?
    thanks

Well, yes and no. You can use CS4 bridge, but you can't update the raw converter, so you won't be able to see thumbnails or do conversions for any raw files from cameras that aren't fairly old. But the bridge file type associations should automatically update to send pics to PSE 12 for editing.
However, although I'm not an organizer fan, either, there's one thing in your post that may be a misunderstanding:
all my photos are in double xith the organise
The organizer is just a database. It doesn't contain any photos at all, and the only time it ever copies a photo without specifically being told to do so is whent you import a whole photo library from iphoto, and then it does this to avoid writing into the iphoto library from outside iphoto, which is a Very Bad Thing to do. You shouldn't use bridge on your iphoto library, either.

  • Raw thumbnails will not display in Bridge CS3

I am using Bridge CS3 and Photoshop Elements 7 (the OS is Vista).  I can open raw files OK via Bridge, and PSE will launch correctly as well, but the thumbnails in Bridge are only the file icons for the raw files, never images.  .jpg files are fine.  I have loaded the latest converter, but the problem in Bridge continues.  Any suggestions?

I  am using CS4 and had the same problem in Windows 7. I ran a check for  update, ran the update, opened Bridge and still got icons...then I  refreshed and all is working fine now, I can see my CR.2 files.
    Hope this solves your issue.

  • Mac Help transferring Bridge to pse9

I am a Mac user.  Just purchased photoshop elements and adobe premier  elements 9.  I have been using photoshop elements 6 and all photo albums were housed in bridge, which doesn't seem to working so well for me.  There is no bridge update in 9.  Where do all the pictures get housed and how do I get them there from bridge?

Nothing is actually "in" bridge. Bridge is just a browser, i.e. it just shows you the current state of any folder you point it to. If you want to use organizer (you can still use bridge from PSE 6 with the editor for PSE 9, but you can't update the raw converter anymore), then you just launch it,  go to File>Get Folders>From Files and Folders, and tell it to import your photos. Organizer is a database: it doesn't move or copy your photos.
Remember though, that if you use organizer, you must use organizer. In other words, from now on, if you want to move an Organized photo from one location to another, you do it in organizer. If you want to delete a photo from your hard drive, you do it in Organizer, and so on, or Organizer won't know what you did and will complain that it can't find your photo anymore.

  • Bridge is opening all of my RAW files as jpegs when I import them from iPhoto

I have set my iPhoto preferences to send my RAW photos as RAW when using an external editor. If I only use ACR, this works fine, but if I want to use CS4 they are all coming over as jpegs and I then have to work w them as jpegs. I have PSE 8 . Do I have to do something before I open CS4 to have them come over in RAW format?

Not Very familiar with iPhoto but I think you do confuse two approaches for
your files. If you choose to work from iPhoto it takes the originals but
when using Bridge it might be an exported version in jpeg.
If you have PSE 8 with Bridge CS4 I would suggest you make a choice in
workflow and use Bridge as starting point. You can import your Raw files in
Bridge using Photodownloader (get photo's from Camera in Bridge) preferable
use a card reader for this.
And/or copy the older original Raw files to a new folder.
You can find the originals that have been imported using iPhoto in the
picture folder/iphoto library. Click on the icon and with right mouse click
choose show package content. In this new window you will see a file called
originals with subfolders. Inhere find the ones you want and copy them to a
new folder from your choice (either in the picture folder or elsewhere, but
obvious not in the package window for iPhoto, you won't see them after you
    closed the package content window...)
Choose copy because in this way your iPhoto library and folder structure
    stays as it is.
Now point Bridge to the folder with this copied files and let it cache the
    files first (takes some time).
With this workflow you can manage your Raw files (rate, rename, adding
metadata and keywords etc.) and develop them in ACR and PSE. If you do want
to use the album structure from iPhoto you can choose to save your developed
files either as jpeg or tiff and place them in iPhoto.
It might be a better workaround because iPhoto is not the best application
to handle and develop Raw files, you have a lot more options in Bridge and
    PSE
I have set my iPhoto preferences to send my RAW photos as RAW when using an
external editor. If I only use ACR, this works fine, but if I want to use CS4
they are all coming over as jpegs and I then have to work w them as jpegs. I
have PSE 8 . Do I have to do something before I open CS4 to have them come
    over in RAW format?
