Bridge is garbage-Why does it keep crashing?
Hello, i know someone with a mac who has adobe creative suite cs3. They have bridge, which is always crashing and i'm supposed to fix it.
Anyway, does anyone want to give me a clue as to why bridge seems so unstable? Has a recent update caused problems? Or does bridge just plain suck? Please, do not direct me to the usual article about setting preferences or clearing the cache. It doesn't work. I have tried that first.

Sometimes uninstalling the plugin then reinstalling will prevent Safari from crashing again.

not sure if it matters that i'm a pc and you're a mac. lazy me didn't even uninstall my previous flashplayer.
i did have to install using chrome, which already had the updated flashplayer. and that's where the second post from Carolyn Samit came in handy. once i installed the proper "other version" for my system, i've been browsing without fail!!

Why does Encore keep crashing and where are the media files?
I am having big problems with Encore right now. I have developed a rather complex DVD with something like 20 movies on it. The video files associated with these movies are all in .wmv format; about 4gb total in size and are stored on an external drive as is the Encore file with which I am authoring this DVD. This drive has a USB connection to my computer which I know is not the best but I have managed to author an earlier draft of this DVD no problem.
The problem now is that Encore keeps crashing. Also, in the process, a lot of disc space is eaten up on my "C" drive. I don't know why this is and where to go to delete these files. I have defragged my computer and my anti-virus scans are up to date. I am running a windows XP Home Edition O/S with an Intel pentium 4 CPU, 2.79 ghz with 2.5 gb of RAM. I went to edit>preferences>media>location in Encore and got that my media files are on my C drive in Adobe>library but, when I looked, they didn't seem to be there. Super frustrating! Also my computer is super-slow too. I deleted all temp files and there is no spyware to speak of, according to my virus scan software (Panda).
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to address this problem? Many thanks!

For some unknown reason firefox keeps crashing on my laptop computer. I mostly just use the internet for surfing and for emailing. It is very frustrating when I am trying to write an email and firefox crashes. I have unistalled and reinstalled firefox. I ran a McAfee scan on the computer and it has no problems with spyware or malware. It doesn't crash in safemode either. I am in safe mode now otherwise it would have crashed multiple times while getting to this page and typing this message.
If Firefox crashes frequently but stops crashing when you are in Safe Mode that is a pretty sure sign that there is something wrong with your individual setup of Firefox on your Windows 7 machine.
(The 99 others claiming to have the same problem this week probably have their own distinct and separate problems - if you are one of those 99 it may make sense to start your own questions about your problems, if you do not see suitable answers).
Many malware problems would continue even in Firefox's [[safe mode]], so the good news is that malware may not be your problem.
Note that safe mode does not disable plugins, you may wish to consider testing with your plugins disabled, just in case they are interacting with something. To temporarily disable plugins use

You do not list the Firefox extensions that are in use, maybe one of them is a problem. I suggest you try Firefox with half of them disabled, if that solves the problem, the troublesome add-on may be in the other half, disable them all and then try with half of the other half enabled. (If you have more than a handful of add-ons it is faster testing like that than enabling or disabling one at a time)
One very important question is how do you know Firefox is crashing ? <br/>will you please explain exactly what happens, and what if any error messages you are seeing. (If firefox freezes/hangs that may be different from Firefox or the OS crashing, and require different solutions).

Using Face Time app. Most recent update.
Keeps crashing every 3 minutes, both myself and the other user are wired with cords not using a wireless connection.

I need help with iPhoto. I have a library containing approx 21,000 photos / sorted into 382 events. It keeps crashing and I lose the changes I have made to the events - any hints / tips greatly apprecaited!

Often the solution is to rebuild the database - backup your iPhoto library, depress and hold the command and option keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild the database

it just up and randomly crashes and i've checked the firefox troubleshooting section, i've checked the add ons, i've scan both malware and anti virus yet it still keeps crashing and it doesnt matter what site i'm on. i had it crash while i was trying to submit this question
You may need to reset your User agent as it is showing that you have Firefox 3.6.20 installed. Click "More system details" to the right of your original question, scroll all the way to the bottom, you will see:

Why does safari keep crashing in mac book pro with retina display
I have a new mac book pro with retina display. I transfered all my data from my old laptop with time maching but now when I try to open safari it keeps crashing. Has anyone had a problem with this. All my software is up to date.

Why does Firefox keep crashing with Mavericks?
I don't want any answers on this, but I would strongly suggest that people should not download Mavericks. I did so today, March 22, and since then Firefox keeps crashing or going into the spinning wheel mode. Once it actually shut down my domputer. Clearly Apple updates are becoming as worthless as windows updates.
I haven't had any issues with Firefox and Mavericks. The only issues I've had have been minor.
I suggest you test in a new User. This will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or if it's your User's folder that contains the problem.
CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching
Do you still see the issue?
If yes, then the problem is with your base files.
If no, then the problem is in your User's folder.
Download EtreCheck. It will display the important details of your system configuration and highlight old files you still might have around that will affect Mavericks. If you need help with the results, you can copy the results to the Clipboard. and paste on the fourm.

I just installed iPhoto 9.4.1, why does it keeps crashing?
I had iPhoto crashing, so I found the 9.4.1 update and installed it.
It refuses to open now, and just keeps crashing every time before it opens.
Are there any fixes for this?

Why does Mail keep crashing when I try to open it
Hello
Recently I received an email (from a .gov address, no less) and when I tried to do anything to it - move it, delete it, etc, Mail would crash. Finally I got Mail to stop closing, but it's sitting on my Inbox.
Today I had cancel my camping reservation and, horrified, received another mail from them. I can no longer open Mail because that email is highlighted. Once it started to create a new account but I didn't want to lose my mailboxes and emails, so I stopped that.
I'd be grateful for any help.

I don’t fully understand what you say. If it’s just a particular message that causes Mail to crash, proceed as follows:
1. Launch Mail holding the Shift key down until the main window appears. This tells Mail to not select any mailboxes or load any messages upon start up.
2. Go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled -- having this setting enabled is a really bad idea for spam-related security reasons anyway.
If you have the preview pane visible, Mail may still crash again as soon as you select the troublesome message. You’ll have to either delete the message or move it to another mailbox to prevent Mail from accidentally trying to open it (the problem could be a bug in Mac OS X that might or might not be fixed in a future version). There are at least three ways of doing this without displaying the message contents:
3a. You can hide the preview pane by dragging the separator bar between the message list and the preview pane to the bottom of the window, or just double-click within the separator bar, so that the preview pane disappears and only the message list is visible. This would prevent Mail from trying to load the message when it is selected in the message list. To make the preview pane visible again, drag the separator bar up from the bottom of the window, or just double-click on it again.
3b. If you select the message with the mouse, the message is displayed in the preview pane when the mouse button is released, not when it’s pressed. This allows you to drag the message to the Trash or to any other mailbox without Mail trying to display its contents.
3c. Ctrl-clicking on a message causes a contextual menu to appear, from which you can usually (but not always, don’t ask me why) choose Delete or Move To, without the contents of the message being displayed in the preview pane.
BTW, please update the Operating System field on your My Settings’s profile (and click Save), so that it accurately reflects the version of Mac OS X you’re using now. -
I have the first iPad (which is considered ancient). I'll open safari and no matter what I'm searching after a few minutes it crashes (it will close safari and bring me back to the main app screen). The last few days I've been searching song on iTunes, and I have the same issue. It closes my iTunes and brings me to the main app screen.
I have checked my updates and everything is current for this iPad. It's a 64gb iPad with 54gb of available space so I know it's not a storage issue.

I just purchased the full version of CS5 last night. I opened a CS3 project and started playback and Crash. Everytime. It will play for a couple minutes and crash. Sometimes it will crash just when I scrub through my movie. Any ideas?Instead of trying all sorts of things, and not offering any details, why not pick some specific files, and a Project/Sequence Preset to match, and then reporting the exact details?
When someone says, "tried everything, and nothing works," that leaves people with zero to go on. The more detail, the better. Keep it linear, and simple, and then describe in detail what happens.
Otherwise, it's rather like saying, "took the car out for a spin and did some things, and went some places. I added something, but then something happened. What was it?" Who would have a clue?
Please make it as easy on us, as you possibly can. Give us details, that apply, and descriptions of what happened.
