Bridge is my only hope

I have never backed up my computer and I have recently lost over 70,000 photos.  Is there some way that Bridge could have saved thumbnails of these photos?  I would be so grateful if even a tiny thumbnail image could be recovered using Photoshop/Bridge.  I've read forums where people have said that Bridge is using up gigabytes of computer space and people should purge Bridge to free up space.  I'm hoping that the used space may be saved thumbnails of photos.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the responses.  I have tried to recover the photos by taking the computer to professional recovery services with no luck.  Only a handful were able to be saved.  It sounds like the Bridge cache will not be of help either.  I knew it was a shot in the dark to recover thumbnails from Bridge, but it was the only hope left.
Thanks for the links to find the Cache in Bridge.  I didn't know where to start looking.  I'm going to follow the cache links and hope for a miracle, but first I have to muster up the courage and prepare for disappointment.
Thanks for the help.  I really appreciate it.

• I have CS5 and when I opened up a particular folder in Bridge, I see only a few thumbnails of my images.  The rest are this small blue icon.  How do I get my thumbnails back?

In bridge on CS5 there is one folder I opened up today and in that folder I can only see a small percentage of thumbnail previews of the images.  The rest are this small blue icon.  How do I get my thumbnail previews back?  If I click on this icon it will open the image up okay in photoshop but I would like to see my thumbnail image to see what picture I am opening up.  Can anyone help?

Well ... i purged my cache and the previews came back.  Thank you for looking.

• Bridge cs6 export - only hard drive option is present. I want ftp and social network module

I want to export my images right from the bridge. Uploading them to different social sites and ftps is a bit of a hassle and it is easy to forget something in the process. It would be so much better if I could just drag files to desired locations/presets.
I've seen something like that in the blogs (but with lower version of CS) where people have facebook and other options. But I can see only hard drive module.
Is it possible? If so - why don't I have this option? What can I do?

If you don’t see the four modules, click the flyout menu and choose “Manage Modules.”
Make sure all four are checked. If you don’t see the four listed, click the little gear, and from ITS flyout menu, choose “Check for Updates.” When you’re through, click the small “Done” button at the bottom to return to the Export Panel main window.
You can start using the export modules directly, but every time you use them you’ll have to go through a long export process. Use presets to streamline this operation, by saving all the work for re-use. You can create multiple presets; for example, you might have several presets for Facebook depending on whether you want to send the images to your wall, or a specific album. We’ll step through the Facebook setup first.
In the Export Panel, highlight “Facebook” and click on the “+” icon at the bottom to Add a new Preset.
The “Add Preset” dialog appears, and the first thing you will need to do is authenticate with Facebook. Note that you will need to authenticate every time you create a new preset, even with the same service, but you won’t need to authenticate when you actually export your images. Click on “Sign In.”
Two things happen: Your browser will be launched, and you’ll see the authentication page from Facebook. You’ll need to enter your credentials, and you can check “Keep me logged in to Adobe Bridge Export Panel.”
Etc. etc.
You can follow the rest of the instructions here:

• Bridge CS4 Output Only 10 Images to Web Gallery

Hello all,
I have, in Bridge, output workspace, selected 14 imges to be output to the web gallery and only the first 10 images are processed. Any idea as to why? Maybe it is as simple as a setting in the preferences? Thank you so much in advance.

If you are referring to what happens when you click "Preview in Browser", then yes, the output does only include the first ten images.
To preview the full Web Gallery before uploading it, you must generate the Web Gallery and then preview it by double-clicking on the "index.html" file which will cause it to open in your default browser.

• Can i tell adobe bridge to look only in certain folders?

I don't want or need Adobe Bridge looking through my entire computer for stills. Is there a way to tell Bridge CC to look only in certain folders.
Let's say that I have a folder called "stills" that is part of a documentary film media folder. I just want Adobe Bridge looking for stills in that one folder and nowhere else. Is it possible to get Bridge searching only in that folder?

Yes, first navigate to the desired folder. Then add this folder as a favorite
This are my favorites:
Then you simply click one of your favorites and Bridge will only show its content

• Does Bridge Mode Work only with Apple Router?

Can I use an Airport Extreme Router, in Bridge Mode, as a wireless bridge in a network that does not use an Apple Router?
Situation:  Wifi Hotspot from Smartphone connects to Dlink Wireless Bridge in other room allowing Wifi access to printers having only Hard-Wired Ethernet connections.  Trying to do the same with an Airport Extreme, with same network name and password, in bridge mode, to provide a PC internet access through the Ethernet connection to Airport Extreme.  Cannot seem to get the Airport Extreme in Bridge Mode to function as a wireless bridge on this network.

Are both of your AirPort Extreme models the "ac" version?
So Base Station (2) would be set to bridge mode, hard wired to Station (1).  Base Station (2) - I believe in this configuration will broadcast the wireless signal from Station (1), the router, with all DHCP addressing handled by Station (1).
No, Base Station 2 would not broadcast the wireless signal from Base Station 1. Base Station 2 would broadcast its own wireless signal, which it derives from the Ethernet connection coming from Base Station 1.
You don't have to worry about "bridge mode" if you use Apple's "wizard" to set things up in AirPort Utility.
If the wireless on Base 2 is configured to use the same wireless network name and password as Base 1, then Base 2 will act like an "extender", and it will seem as if you have one "big" network. This type of setup is called a Roaming Network.
Base Station 2 would only broadcast the wireless signal from Base 1....IF....Base 2 was connecting using wireless. But, you changed the question to ask about Base 1 and Base 2 connecting using Ethernet.

• SBS 2011 - High CPU usage - Help me Microsoft forums! You're my only hope!

My company supports a client that has a SBS 2011 server.  For about the past year, we've been fighting a recurring issue with performance on this server.  There are about ten local users and four remote users.  The server's CPU idles at
about 60%-80% but is usally running when under *any* load from 80%-100%.  If you do anything on the console, it will stay pretty much at 100%.  These are not power users by any means.  The server is utilized for file/printer sharing, Exchange
2010, and one flat file database application (non-SQL).  SharePoint is not utilized.
Needless to say, our client is frustrated.  When opening files, using their database application, or doing anything Exchange-related, there is a large amount of lag on the client side.  First, here are the server's specs:
Make:Dell PowerEdge T420
OS: SBS 2011 Standard SP1
CPU: 2 - Intel Xeon E5-2407
Memory: 32GB
RAID: RAID 1 - Operating System (C:)/Data Volume (E:) | RAID 5 - Data Volume (D:)
Here is what we have tried to resolve this to finality:
* Doubled resources - Initially the server had a single physical processor and 16GB of memory.  While these specs alone should have been fine, and were fine when the server was installed, we had periods of time where the server would just sit all day at
100% usage.  We doubled the resources and while this seemed like it would fix the issue, we are still seeing abnormally high processor usage.
* Removed all monitoring tools, antivirus, and backup software - As part of our testing, we removed our monitoring agent (LabTech) and antivirus (GFI Vipre).  Mozy is utilized for an off-site backup so that was disabled.  No dice.
* Verified updates - We made absolutely sure the server was 100% patched.
* Malware/Virus/Rootkit checks - We have ran scans checking for any potential issues with security.
* Ran MBSA and MBCA to fix any issues with the server's configuration.
There is no single process which is using all of the CPU, or we would simply be able to narrow it down.  Our calls to Microsoft support have yielded no answers.  The last call ended with Microsoft stating that a SBS server should always be running
at high CPU usage.  Meanwhile, we have many other clients with less-beefy servers, with more users, who have no issues like these.
So, I'm turning to you all.  I will gladly provide logs, configuration settings, even remote assistance sessions if you all can help shed some light on what might be causing my issues.
Thank you!

Some comments/ideas:
How long was the server running after this screenshot?  I ask because store.exe is only got a 1GB of RAM which is really low - it should grab most of the RAM within a few hours.
The server was up for about 12 hours.  I believe an adjustment was made before to limit the Exchange memory usage.
Strange that SearchIndexer (wsearch service) is so high although that may be a startup condition.
The LT* processes seem to be a 3rd party monitoring tool - no idea why it would ever need that much CPU though (I thought you disabled this?).
We had, but we cannot go forever without monitoring our client's server.  It has been pulled off in the past and results on performance are pretty much the same.
The taskmgr process run by amnet_admin has used a lot of total CPU Time.  What is it? (can't see the command line).
That's the user I was logged in as when I took the screenshot.  Even the task manager seems to eat up the CPU.
The sqlserver process right above it is also busy - may want to look at the command line and figure out which SQL database that is (SBS has 3 - WSUS, Sharepoint, and SBS monitoring)
I believe that's the SharePoint database.  They don't currently use their site.  Would you recommend a removal and reinstallation?  I would not completely remove as I know SBS doesn't like you removing parts of the complete package.
Strange that vds.exe is 10% - that is the interface to the disk management interface IIRC.  Perhaps your monitoring service has gone awry here - definitely lose it.
I'll see about pulling it off and I'll see if there are any improvements.

• JMS Message Bridge with MQ, only BytesMessage available ?

I have successfully set up bridging between MQ and JMS, and have an MDB that receives messages via the bridge when a message producer puts messages on the MQ-queue. Ideally, I would like to receive MapMessages and not BytesMessages which seems to be the case. Is this at all possible ? It is not clear to me if this is determined by how messages are delivered to the MQ-queue or if it is a bridge configuration issue. The message producer uses the MQ Java API and not JMS to produce and publish messages.

The bridge uses the standard JMS API to dequeue the messages from MQ and provides no vendor specific tuning, so as long as IBM MQ supplies a map message in the first place things should work. In other words, if there's any special configuration required to get MQ to deliver map messages, you'll need to tune MQ, not WebLogic.
              Tom
Bridges aren't often required for receiving from non-WebLogic JMS. See

• How do I load Bridge, it is only pulling pictures from my computer not the preloaded images from Adobe

When I loaded the program, I also loaded Dreamweaver, Bridge and Photoshop all CS6.  They are not locating the Bridge Data files.  How do I do this?

Now that I read that again, did I misinterpret your request? Did you mean how do you run the bridge program? For that information we would need to know what operating system you are using since windows and macs differ on how programs run.

• Help me, BDAqua... you're my only hope

After my G4 MDD's power supply toasted last week, I'm scrambling to get everything moved over to my MacBook so I can keep working. A USB drive adapter is allowing me to transfer the contents of the G4's two internal drives (now removed) to an external Firewire drive.
I'll sacrifice speed to do it right, so what's the best way to begin using the G4's Home (User) folder and other necessary folders on the MacBook, but incorporate newly created files (in those same folders) on the MacBook? In other words, MOST of what I need is in the folders from the G4, but I need to add any new stuff created on the MacBook without losing anything. Is there software (such as Carbon Copy Cloner, perhaps) that will compare two folders and incorporate both of them, using only the newest files between them?
A note to those 'power-users' other than BDAqua: please don't take offense to my request. I'm merely trying to use a little levity (the Star Wars reference in the subject line) to maintain my sanity during this challenging situation. You're all perfectly qualified, and I welcome your input.
Now, bring the Princess and the Wookie to me!

Thanks Rich, but I'm just an L4, which is less than 1/12th of what it takes to be an L5!!! And Kappy is not only an L5, (I think there are 14 in the whole world), but nearly a Double L5!
Here's all I did...
Bought a new iMac/2.4GHz/24"/10.5.0, unpacked it, tossed the Apple Mouse across the room, left the Aluminum KB wrapped up, installed the 4GB RAM I pre-ordered, booted my PPC eMac/1.42/2GB/10.4.11 into Target Mode, started up the new iMac, went through the initial filling out stuff then it gave me a choice of Migrating or not... I did & chose absolutely everything on the eMac... few hours later the iMac booted up looking much like my eMac but just more worthless Eye Candy & things moved around to make it more Windows® like to find things or change settings.
It connected right away to my Dial-up account though my old Saucer AEBS. The new Safari and old Firefox had all my bookmarks, etc.
Eudora & Mail the same, worked fine, (did have to disable Sounds in Eudora as those were no longer supported in Leo.
IIRC I did have to remove a couple of things from System Preferences>Other Row that were Logging errors, but rather smooth other than that
I had also pre-bought DiskWarrior 4.1 because the older versions wouldn't run in Leo, installed that, updated several other APPs
As far as Apps & Utilities, I Migrated 200+ of each, you'd be hard pressed outside of MS, Adobe, & Apple's Pro Apps to find something I didn't have.
Now... the new Macs that come with Snow Leopard will break even more things PPC to Intel, Tiger to Sl things, but I have SL & migrated Leo stuff to t that was Migrated from PPC/Tiger & not catastrophic... just disappointing for a supposed "improved" Leopard.

• Help me EJB deployer, you're my only hope...

This request goes to anyone who has administered remote deployment of EJBs to JServer on any scale and has an opinion about it. I'm only looking for a 30,000 foot level response.
My question is, is it possible to deploy the EJBs to a single Oracle Server, and then Replicate them to other servers, or do EJBs have to be deployed to each server directly?
If not, is there a method for automating the deployment of EJBs to multiple Oracle servers other than replication?
I have a management meeting comming up to present recommendations on whether we want to deploy EJBs to approx 250 remote servers over a 56K fixed line connection, or have a central server for deployment and have the clients at those 250 remote sites pointed to the central repository. The answer is obvious to me, go with the central server. But I haven't had any experience adminstering EJB deployment so I need to have some idea of how estimate the cost in terms of work hours, maintenance and $ to administer the remote deployment.

• You are my only hope...

I'm very disappointed of WLS (and JDeveloper). Coming from a SJAS background I find that WLS does not enjoy even half the community support of SJAS, and the worst thing is that even WebLogic isn't making a big deal of documentation.
So in wan to secure a webapp. (Fusion webapp) against a database list of users/groups. I looked into it and found about SQLAuthenticator. I said to my self what a great thing... no more need to write my own LoginModule to do that. So I begun to google it to find anything about it... how to use it ( it is not any good if i know: -'hey I can do this! -how? -... silence), but nothing useful.
I kept on going ... I've done a webapp. I wrote a <realm-name> tag in web.xml, I've made a realm on the embedded WLS on jdev (having as provider SQLAuthenticator) ... and run the app. I tried to access a protected resource ... been redirected to login... then entered credentials ... redirected to error page.
Same stuff with DefautAuthenticator(users/roles configured) .... it works...
I've looked into Diagnostics > Log Files > DomainLog nothing
how can I trace the login process?
I need some example how to use this feature, how to configure JDeveloper (this JPS thing is confusing me). I've noticed ( I think this is correct) that in JDev you make users/roles into a jazn-data.xml(this is no good for me because not the developer should establish the users and their passwords, and second this kind of info should be dynamic) that after deploy it is merged into WLS's default realm.
Help me with any link(or anything) that you think it will help me solve this.
Thanks,
Florin POP
I apologize for my inappropriate exposure of things, it must be that for three days I'm dazzling in circles about one thing that's a simple task.

Well what I understood after going through your mail is that you want to develop your own Database Login Module for Weblogic container managed security.
Weblogic's security provider architecture is MBean based, if you are going to develop your own provider it should have a corresponding MBean implementation. Weblogic installation comes with tool that will generate necessary MBean deployment files and implementations for you.
You have to go through the following steps -
1. First of all you need to create the runtime classes for your Custom Authentication Provider
- In your case first of all you need to implement JAAS javax.security.auth.spi.LoginModule interface (here inside login() method you have to implement your authentication logic)
- Implement weblogic.security.spi.AuthenticationProviderV2 interface, please be careful while implementing getLoginModuleConfiguration method and here remember to specify the your custom LoginModule while forming javax.security.auth.login.AppConfigurationEntry and returning it. Also please specify the proper JAAS control flag.
2. Now create an MBean Definition File (MDF) which is basically an xml file containing the MBean definition. (you didn't specify which version of Weblogic Server you are using, assuming Weblogic 10 you may refer this documentation while developing MDF http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/dvspisec/mdf_ref.html).
Run this MDF through Weblogic MBean maker to generate the MBean implementation and intermediate Java files.
3. Once this dynamic class generation is over and you have finished editing the MBean implementation file you need to package them in form of a jar file(MJF) using MBeanMaker.
4. Copy the MJF into the WL_HOME\server\lib\mbeantypes directory and restart the server.
Now you please login to your Weblogic server admin console click on the default realm, you will get this CustomAuthenticator listed as soon as you are trying to configure a new provider for the realm.
And regarding the tracing of login process you may use weblogic.logging.NonCatalogLogger APIs to send messages to the WebLogic server log.
thanks,
Subhasis.

I am having a strange crash, there is no software trigger and it happens very suddenly. The screen displays garbled pixels and patterny pixelation like this

It happens roughly 6 minutes after my computer starts up. if I restart it will crash the Load screen as well, and not boot at all freezing at the load screen. If I wait 20 minutes it will load fully and completely then crash 6 minutes in again.
I had just reinstalled 10.6.3 over what was there and not a complete format of the HD. This was a week ago and I use my computer a lot (4-8 hours a day)
Hapefully someone can decipher the Crash Log and pinpoint a device or software issue that is causing it.
