Bridge - Kontaktabzug in InDesign

Hallo,
Ganz viel Danke sagt Marco

I think this will make more sense:
I need to adjust the script to open in Ph and re-save as png 2 page pdf  liked in indd. Right now the script does everything, but it  re-saves and re-links first page of the pdf onto both indd's pages only.  And I need it to place first png (from first page of the pdf) into 1st  indd's page, and second png file (from second page of the pdf) into 2nd  indd's page.
See the script in the 1st post.
Thank you very much.

  • Placing images from Bridge CC breaks Indesign Doc

This seems to be intermittent but it's occuring only when I place images from Bridge to an InDesign document.
I've experienced this bug before with InDesign but now it seems to happen more often when I drag an image from Bridge to an InDesign doc.
After doing this I'm unable to Save the document or undo/redo anything. I know others have experienced this same bug. The only way I was able to fix the document was to close InDesign (and lose any unsaved changes) and then reopen the document. Then I create a new document and move all of the pages of my document to the new doc and resave it. This seems to stop the problem from happening.
This is a serious bug: a) It's hard to pin down what causes it but it seems to be permission related to the document b) there is NO way to recover your unsaved changes, you can't copy your objects to a new document and save it as once the program breaks you can't save ANYTHING.
Has anyone had success permanantly fixing this? Or run into it at all?

    Windows or MacOS?
Because in Windows you can circumvent this by using the Explorer. I used to drag 'n drop images (ID CS6) and other files all the time - nothing like your problem so far.

  • Mini Bridge in CS6 InDesign won't sort files

I am running CS6 on Snow Leopard.
When I open the mini bridge panel in InDesign I can't sort any files in the Nav Pod. It has no effect on the file sort.
I have updated the CS software and reset my bridge preferences. Do you have any other suggestions?
    Bridge works fine.

I have 8 MB of RAM. I restarted all the software, but not my computer.
It is in the left column that I am having the problem.
There was a previous discussion thread where a user on Mountain Lion was having the same issue, but it wasn't resolved in that discussion thread either.

  • Mini Bridge Missing from InDesign CS6 after Upgrade to InDesign Version 8.1

I discussed this same problem https://forums.adobe.com/message/5833991 after upgrading to the prior version 8.0.2 of InDesign.
After upgrading to InDesign Version 8.1, Mini Bridge no longer works.  Mini Bridge does not show under the Window menu and shift-clicking the Bridge icon opens the full Bridge, not Mini Bridge.
With the prior version 8.0.2 problem, I was able to recover Mini Bridge by doing a re-install of InDesign under Window's Safe Mode.  Microsoft has somehow changed Safe Mode and I can no longer do the reinstall using Safe Mode.  I have tried several different ways of reinstalling version 8.1, but none of them correct this problem.  Still no Mini Bridge.
Mini Bridge does work in Photoshop CS6 with no problem.
I have read through all of the messages that seem to relate to this problem in this forum, but none of the suggested solutions work for me.
Can anyone provide me with an answer?  If not, how do I get help from Adobe?  I am willing to pay for support, if necessary.

RESOLVED - I can't believe it, but I have actually figured this out.
Getting frustrated with going in circles, I decided to dig into security options.  First off, I opened Windows' Properties for the start-up icon for InDesign.  Right off, I noticed under the Compatibility tab that InDesign was set to run in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3).  This did not seem right, so I turned off the option to run in Compatibility Mode and re-started up InDesign.  Low and behold, the option Window | Mini Bridge was now displayed!  And it worked!
Sorry to have bothered you gentlemen with this problem.  I really appreciate your assistance!
    Mark.

  • Mini-Bridge hangs in Indesign CC

Using Mac OSX Maverick on an Imac. Running 8mb of Ram. I have been an Indesign user since ID2 came out.
Prior to upgrading to Maverick, I did not have a problem with the mini-bridge in IDCC. Since the upgrade, I am constantly getting the "waiting for bridge" message and it just sits there. One time it sat there overnight, spinning and "waiting on bridge". The problem is so bad I've abandoned mini-bridge completly and rely on Adobe Bridge. This is an acceptable solution but it does take a tad bit longer to switch out of ID, find the artwork I'm looking for, drag it to a box and then switch back to ID to resize it.
I have searched the forums and have tried the solutions that have been posted but most of those were for ID CS5 or earlier. And none of them have solved the problem.
I have deleted all the Adobe Creative Cloud software from my computer and have downloaded new versions. Still doesn't solve the problem. I tried creating a new user on my computer and it solved it for a short time, but created other problems since all my files are on my main user.
Tried communicating with Adobe tech support which reminds me of the old saying about female anatomy features on a male pig. Even got bumped up to a Tier 2 support person, who actually suggested erasing my hard drive and reformating.  Not going to happen.
Anyone have a more reasonable solution?

Steve. Removed all autoload software except for Flash. No joy.
mini bridge still not functioning properly.
I removed the autoload software, rebooted. started bridge and rebuilt preferences and deleted cache. Started Indesign. Open mini bridge window. opened document and attempted to use mini-bridge to place art on page.

  • Bridge CS5 viewing InDesign Thumbnails on Facing Pages

When I recently upgraded to CS5 the view that I can see into InDesign files (from Bridge) changed. Specifically, if I want to look at a document with facing pages the Bridge thumbnail only shows the left-hand page. I need to see both sides of the document 'spread' which is something I could always do before. Does anyone else have this problem... and perhaps a solution? When I look at older InDesign files they show up with both pages (as I would like) but nothing created with the later version of InDesign shows up that way. Help!

Does anyone else have this problem...
You might be better of in the dedicated InDesign forum for this question.

  • "Waiting on Bridge" problem in Indesign

Just started having this problem after I loaded OSX Maverick on my Imac.
I searched the forums and saw the recommendations for removing the "SwitchBridge" from the preference folder. For some reason, when I go the the Library/preferences/adobe folder, SwitchBridge is not in there. From what I have read, that doesn't always solve the problem anyway.
This problem is driving me nuts because it is intermittent. Some folders open very quickly and some takes 10 to 15 seconds for the thumbnails to pop up. One folder I was trying to open was still spinning after about 30 minutes (I took a lunchbreak). Sometimes I can click on another folder and the thumbnails will show and then go back to the previous folder and the thumbnails pop up immediately.
Mostly it is driving me nuts and slowing me down.
I am running the CC suite of software (mainly Indesign, Photoshop & Illustrator) and I depend heavily on Mini Bridge because it makes my workflow smoother and faster.
    Any suggestions?

Never heard of Switch Bridge before, you probably mean SwitchBoard which is in the system library app support folder and in earlier versions has been acting a bit unstable but to my knowledge this is fixed. However, I would not recommend to remove this.
Be sure to run Check Disk and Check and repair permissions on your Mac (which you already should have done also before upgrading to Mavericks) and bite the bullet:  dump the Cache folder for Bridge from your user library (Not on Mavericks yet but from 10.7 they have hidden the user library, use menu Go with option to reveal).
    Go to the Cache folder:
User / library / Caches/ Adobe/ Bridge CC and inhere move both plug in and cache folder (can grow very large) outside the user library. restart Bridge Holding down option key and choose reset preferences also.
If this is not enough also refresh prefs for ID. You will have to rebuild the cache again ( use main folder and menu view / show items from subfolders and let Bridge do it's job. Depending on amount and size of files this can take a while, best use it overnight or end of the day.
You also will have to reset custom preferences because bot prefs and cache have been reset to empty and new (factory default) settings when restarted Bridge.

  • Bridge with CC InDesign

    Hi,
I'm going to be upgrading to InDesign CC very soon. Just wanted to know if the bridge application comes with the subscription?
    Many thanks
    Paul

    Thanks Mylenium.
I know how to change the default program associated with an extension (I would like to keep picture viewer as the default open option for JPG) but I don't know how I change the EDIT association (currently Paint for JPG) in Win 7.
And it would be much more useful if AI could just give us the option of setting defaults (as Bridge does) OR AI could just use Bridge's defaults OR give us an "Open with" option as in Indesign. So many possible solutions, I've feature-requested this on occasions since CS1, it works in other Adobe apps, so I can only think Adobe is wilfully ignoring this issue for Irritator.

  • Mini Bridge gone in InDesign

    Hi,
In InDesign tend to be a Mini-Bridge palette from which to retrieve items from Bridge. It has disappeared.
I have uninstalled all Adobe applications incl. Creative Cloud and deleted all settings and reinstalled everything again. But Mini-Bridge is and remains missing.
    Any suggestions?

    Then it's CC :-)
Here's a screenshot of the Window Menu. It's not there :/

  • Bridge talk for InDesign CS4/CS5 js

    Hi,
Have this code that opens file in Ph and resaves it in different format. In this case I need to adjust it to open pdf file in photoshop and set crop to media box. It works with pdf files as is, but if there is white space around artwork, it gets removed. How can I set it to open with media box:
    function ResaveInPS(myImagePath, myNewPath) {
         try {
               var myPsDoc = app.open(new File(myImagePath));
                 if (myPsDoc.mode == DocumentMode.CMYK) {

  • Bridge talk for InDesign CS4/CS5

Hi, I am looking for any documentation I can find for Bridge talk scripting. So far nothing comes with the search. Does anyone know any sources.
    Thank you very much.
    Yulia

I wouldn't agree with Mark that the JavaScript Tools Guide contains all the necessary information. The description is scarce and obscure, the sample code contains typos which makes things more difficult.
I suggest you to download Bridge SDK which contains a few
excellent samples of using BridgeTalk. They all work and are well commented. So you can run these samples and read the JavaScript Tools Guide to understand how they work.
I also recommend you to read this post.
In my opinion BridgeTalk is a very powerful and useful feature but not many scripters venture to use it.
    Regards,
    Kasyan

  • Can you rename files in Bridge and relink in InDesign automatically?

I have a 250+ page InDesign file with 800+ links to images.
The problem I'm having is the images have French file names.  I want to remove the French text and rename the images to English.
If I rename the images in Adobe Bridge will the Indesign links remain?
    I'm using CS5.5

    Unfortunately no.
    But fortunately there's a script!

  • Lost ability to drag files into InDesign from Bridge

    Hi,
I posted this in the Bridge section also as I'm not really sure on which end the problem is.
All of a sudden I cannot drag files from Bridge into  InDesign CS4 anymore. It still works in Photoshop and Illustrator but not  InDesign. I cannot figure out what happened. Yesterday it worked and today it does not. Does anyone know what the  problem could be?
I just did a test and if I try and drag from Bridge CS4 into InDesign CS3 it works. So the Problems seems to be only with InDesign CS4.
    Thanks.

I called Adobe b/c this was driving me crazy. With  the program closed I had to hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt - then start the  program and delete the preferences. That fixed this issue.
