Bridge Labels disappear from folders

We store our folders on a network server and for some reason only some of the labels disappear a few weeks after they are applied. In this latest case 178 of 446 folders which were previously labelled are no longer labelled. When this happened before it was ~216 folders that lost their labels about 2 weeks after they were applied. The server is running XP w/ CS5 (very rarely opened) and the workstations are on Win7-64 with a mix of CS6 and CC. I have opened the bridgelabelsandratings file and seen everything listed there correctly, and no one else has access to the server to restore to a previous state, so I have run out of ideas. Has anyone else run into similar problems and found a solution?

HT203167 Purchased music disappearing from folders on my PC

I'm finding that certain music purchased and even recently played keeps disappearing from my PC. The folders are where they should be and have been for years, but the actual music files are gone. Searching my computer does not help. I can find them in the ITunes store, and play them from the Store which shows them as purchased. But I cannot download them.
My user name has not changed. And some purchases remain without the mysterious issues. What's the problem here?

Filed emails disappearing from folders as well as web? Why? How to fix?

This is the second time this has happened since upgrading to iso5.1. If I access a folder where I have saved emails, for a brief instant I can see the email, but then they vanish. the folders have emptied all the way back to march of this year, for the most part. it only happens when I access the folder, and does NOT affect the inbox, loke some have said. The emails are NOT in the deleted items, nor the archive folder of iCloud. Where are my mesages going? How to stop this??!! i have lost some really important stuff because of this glitch. Oh yeah, they also disappear from the Yahoo folders too....

Messages disappearing from folders in Mac Mail

I'm using Mail for my AOL e-mail account. I often save messages into folders by subject--say, "travel". I'm noticing that some messages are disappearing from these folders. It's not by date, and I KNOW I'm not deleting them. Where does old mail go, when it goes? Has anyone else had this problem or know of a fix? I need to be able to save important mail indefinitely!

Apple Mail Disappears from Folders

I am very organized. When I finish reading an incoming email I drag it to a folder dealing with that subject. Some of the folders are empty when I return a few weeks or months later - (my original message had the wrong OS listed... It should be listed as Mavericks 10.9.5).

Many thanks for the kind reply. I finally installed Thunderbird and so far everything is good. Time Machine would, were I using the laptop in a more traditional setting, help resolve this issue. However I am prepping for a year + back pack trip to South America and elsewhere and the MacBook Pro is going along. What I have done is install Time Machine Editor (since Time Machine is parsimonious about daily updates) and update now once a week. Better than nothing and given what my schedule on the road may be like its a better fit than once a day. One would think Apple would make Time Machine more controllable particularly in the versions of OSX that are installed in laptops.....
In any case this is my first MacBook Pro and my first Apple computer but I am a long time Linux/Unix user so feel right at home with OSX. In spite of the mail problem, this is without a doubt the best laptop I ve ever used....and I ve been using them since they were suitcases

Labels disappear in Bridge CC slideshow.

Recently I upgraded to Bridge CC from CS4. And now while editing in slideshow mode (ctrl-L) all stars and labels disappear once you move onto the next image.
The colour labels from previous edits are still there, but I can't make new ones or changes.
When in camera raw mode any labels applied stick but that is not efficient for editing.
Can anyone help me with this problem, as I need to use the slideshow and label system when I sit down with clients.

Now to your questing:
So, you moved some Bookmarks and now 2 folders are completely empty.
I think that they dropped in a other folder during dragging the Bookmarks.
Did you check ALL of you Bookmark folder if they are there?
If you didn't delete the they have to be still there.

Folders disappeared from my desktop. All the files in a FileMaker Advanced 11 folder which was on my HD disappeared but the folder remained. Files that were on a backup server disappeared - first half, then a few days later the remaining files were gone. On a newly created backup, when folders were recovered from the backup they could not be copied. Duplicate folders had to be created and the files moved to them before they could be copied. Even though the original folders contained files, they showed 0 bytes. After the files were moved the new folder showed 720 KB.

Mac OS X's Desktop is the de facto location for downloaded files, and for many users, in-progress works that will either be organized later or deleted altogether. The desktop can also be gluttonous, however, becoming a catch-all for files that linger indefinitely.
Unfortunately - aside from the effect of disarray it creates - keeping dozens or hundreds of files on the Desktop can significantly degrade performance. Not necessarily because the system is sluggish with regard to rendering the icons on the desktop and storing them in memory persistently (which may be true in some cases), but more likely because keeping an excessive number of items on the Desktop can cause the windowserver process to generate reams of logfiles, which obviously draws resources away from other system tasks. Each of your icons on your desktop is stored as a window in the window server, not as an alias. The more you have stored, the more strain it puts on the window server. Check your desktop for unnecessary icons and clear them out.
Keeping as few items as possible on the Desktop can prove a surprisingly effective performance boon. Even creating a single folder on your Desktop and placing all current and future clutter inside, then logging out and back in can provide an immediately noticeable speed boost, particularly for the Finder.

Bookmarks from folders have disappeared, I was just working on them yesterday and when I go to work on them today I find they've dissppeared.

Bookmarks from certain folders have just disappeared, the folders are there but it says they're empty, I was just working on these folders yesterday.

I keep an eye on the WinXP Task Manager CPU 'gauge' usage when rearranging bookmarks, and when the 'meter' is pegged I stop to let Firefox digest the changes I am making. Also, I use the Bookmarks Sidebar for working with bookmarks, like when moving a lot of them around. A holdover from IE5 & 6 and the earliest versions of Firefox - the pre-Places / pre-Library days.

Files & Folders disappeared from the desktop!

I have a number of files and folders that just simply disappeared from my desktop. I have tried all of the "normal" recovery methods (restart, repair permissions, run Disk Warrrior and replace the directory, run Data Rescue II) but I find NOTHING!
I am totally baffled by this and cannot seem to find anyone who can give me an answer. HELP!
I was hoping the Apple board would have enough "experts" to help me find my missing data......

I have exactly the same problem, and I've already asked for some help on this boards but with no luck, and 10.4.9 didn't help, nor did the new bootcamp beta.
From what I understand this seems to happen only on Intel Macs that uses Bootcamp. When you boot back to OS X after using Windows, your desktop is like a black hole and everything you put in there just seems to disappear.
If you look for the missing file with Spotlight, it will find it, and if you click on it in the Spotlight window, the file will appear magically on your desktop.
So basically the files are there but the desktop is just not showing them.

Anyway to import just labeled images from Bridge to LR?

Is there a way to import into Lightroom, just your labeled images from Bridge?

Labeling is not universal as star rating seems to be. I have several apps that read each other star rating none of them reads label. Also when having change the default name for labels often the older files with color label have still the at time assigned name but loos the color and change to white.
Is there a way to import into Lightroom, just your labeled images from Bridge?
Create a folder that you can easy access when importing from LR. In Bridge select the label(s) you want in the filter panel and move or copy the labeled files to that folder. Now in LR you can import them.

Bridge disappears from Monitoring Runtimes screen

A bridge has been set-up which initally appears as normal with the 'forwarding messages' message. But after a while the bridge disappears from the list. What could cause this?

Bridge auto expands from one monitor to two when accessing folders

When I try to rename a folder Bridge auto expands from one monitor to two monitors and doesn't let me change the name. If I try to delete a photo it auto expands, lets me delete the photo but remains expanded across two monitors. This is a new experience I have had Bridge CC for about a year and this activity started on Friday. How do I prevent Bridge from automatically expanding across the two monitors?
