Bridge lists applications twice...

Hello all,
I still use CS4 for my 32 bit plug ins, instead of having to use CS5 in 32 bit mode. I thought it was a good idea at first, but I'm having second thoughts.
When I right click an image for "open with", Bridge CS5 shows all my applications twice (CS3, CS3, CS4, CS4, CS5, CS5, etc). If I select one, the app opens right up. If I select the other, I get a message that the application has been moved. When I check my application folder it shows only one version of each application.
It's not a great big deal, but it is slowing me down. Any ideas why bridge lists all apps twice?

Sounds like you have a backup volume mounted, or Time Machine backup, with duplicate installs..

My finder>open with menu lists some applications twice.
A minor annoyance I'd like to fix.
Example: If I choose a JPG file and go to "open with" the following programs are listed twice: Firefox, QuickTime, RealPlayer & Safari. Some other programs are listed once.
There are NOT two versions of these programs on my computer, but there is the System folder from my old Mac.
Is there a way to fix this little problem?

The mac finder will pick up applications anywhere on your hard drive when you do the "open with".
If you aren't using your old System Folder you could create a .zip archive of it and remove the original Folder.
I'd be open to hearing other approaches, but this will work.

Have you opened Photoshop or any other Adobe app that Bridge works with? You need to do this if you've upgraded PS or just signed up for CC.

And there is the problem. Your pictures are opening up in Mac's own Preview app.
Do you want all your jpegs to open in Photoshop, or only when you are in Bridge?
Selecting a program to open a certain file is called: File Type Association.
You can choose this at the MacOS level or the Bridge level.
Here's how to do both:
Either MacOS or Bridge has the wrong app associated with the jpeg. Let's start with MacOS
Close Bridge and Preview. Select one of your jpegs, and press Cmd i, That will bring up the file info window.
Go down to the "Open with" section of File Info.
Choose Photoshop CS4 and click on the Change All... button to apply this choice to every jpeg on your Mac.
Then open Bridge and see if double-clicking opens it in Photoshop.
Now that means all jpegs on your Mac will open in Photoshop. Maybe you don't want that.
You can set your jpegs to open in Preview when Bridge is closed.
When you open Bridge, there is Preferences > File Type Associations where you can direct Bridge to open the jpegs in Photoshop when you are viewing in Bridge.

Bridges Parent application error

Usually that means you have not launched Photoshop.

Update SharePoint list programatically twice a day with SQL 2008 r2

How complicate is to sustain the update SharePoint list programatically twice a day by using SQL job?
the data need to be update twice a day and it is going o be use to feed a share point form...where the user(S) will be choosing by lookup in infopath form.
BTW..I do not have control of the SharePoint farm, I have MS SQL 2008 R2 and SharePoint version is 2010.
Or Also I am considering to use MS access 2010 and SharePoint version is 2010.

Open With Menu Lists Applications 5 times

So my open with menu seems to list applications more than once, for instance it reads

I am installing leopard tomorrow (migration assistant install). Will that fix the problem? I would rather fix it before, how could I do that?

How do I get round this error message "Bridges parent application is not active_ Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at leat once to enable this feature". I have launched from within both Indesign and Photoshop Trials.

Next step reset preferences in Bridge. Hold down the Ctrl key and start Bridge. You should get a reset window with 3 options.

Bridge Parent Application

When I try and open a jpg or png file with Camera Raw, I keep getting and error message saying that a bridge parent application has not been opened. I am then told to open a qualifying app to continue.

NO Bridge doesnt require any application to be lauched before.
You can lauch Bridge without even opening any application

Looking for Task Manager and Grocery List applications that will sync my Mac with my iPhone. Do you know of any? Zenbe is not really what I am looking for.

Have you looked at evernote? Syncs over the air with the desktop client. You can create notes, checklists (with checkboxes) and even audio notes that all sync.
I use it more for notes, as I use Remeber the Milk for to do... but Evernote might be worth looking at, it is free.

CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed

Operating Windows 7, 64 bit. I found the recommended fixes at: CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed.
They were close. I found that steps 1-3 did not work initially. But before running the cleaner;
1. I uninstalled CC desktop.
2. I did a registry clean with CCleaner
3. then ran the CC desktop cleaner
4. then went back in to the Windows control panel to remove installed programs where I found an icon for Acrobat XI that was the uninstalled program and uninstalled that. Although the
icon was not the standard icon but a generic one, I still needed to remove it.
5. Installed the CC desktop.
That worked.

Dynamic Birthday List Application

Hello,
I have a requirement to develop a dynamic "Birthday List" application which will display the birthdays of all employees for that particular day.
I am planning to put a birthday excel sheet somewhere in the portal server and this application will fetch the information from the excel.
I have to incorporate this application in my WPC page so can't use webdynpro to develope this.
Any suggestion what is the best way to develop this application.
Any tool which is available which can be used for this purpose?

How are you.
You can create the custom Java application (i.e PAR) or webdynpro application and fetch the "Birthday List" from excel sheet in the custom applicatio and match with current date. Based matched data you can build the page to show in the SAP Portal.
If there is no data in the current date, then you can show "No Data Available" and If there is match data in the current date available, then you can show the associated page.
If you are using the PAR or Webdynpro iview, you can show in the WPC. For this you need to use the [Configuring Entry Points for iViews|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/06/4776399abf4b73945acb8fb4f41473/content.htm]

Find command in terminal -- lists files twice

I noticed the other day that after i used the find command to search for some files, the computer listed them twice -- first with just the names of the files (meaning ./(then the individual file names), then with the directory name, followed by the file names (directory name/file name). I was already in the desired directory, and I don't think this has ever happened before. Can someone tell me why it does this and how to fix it? Is there something wrong?
Here's the command I'm using:
find . -iname "*(text to search for)*" -type f
and, if I use find from my home directory (that is, not in the desired subdirectory), it lists ./(subdirectory name)/(subdirectory name)/file names. This is really wierd. Is it supposed to do this?
In case it matters, I also had to reinstall Snow Leopard the other day. I also just shut down the computer and restarted it, but that didn't change anything. Please help!

I feel like such an idiot. I didn't notice that I had put a copy of the directory from my flash drive into the subdirectory -- making it a subdirectory of the subdirectory
