Bridge no longer works

I just upgraded to LR CC and it would never execute.  Finally, people on the web had the answer and it now works.   Bridge, however . . .I use Windows 64 Pro. When I double-click on Bridge, it comes up but does not show any images (and that folder has many images).  I can't move the Bridge window, nor minimize, maximize or exit.  Windows Task Manager shows it running, and I have to close it via Task Manager.  Why is Adobe software not working any more?  This is VERY frustrating, especially since I have a lot of work to do in it.  Every month I pay a fee for these programs and now Bridge won't work.  Yes, I have rebooted and tried many times.Thank you.

Have you tried resetting Bridge Preferences?
Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

What OS version? What's the exact error? Exactly when does the error occur? What previous versions? What is on the screen when the error displays? Does Photoshop get fully open?

  • Standard PCI to PCI bridge no longer working after BIOS update

    Hey everyone,
Before I get into the details of what is probably the most frustrating computer problem I have ever faced I would first like to say hello because this is my first post and I give you my system specs.
    Windows 7 ultimate x64
    GA-M61PME-S2P (rev 1.0) MOBO
    2x 120GB Mushkin SSD @3.5gbps Raid 0
AMD Phenom II x4 @2.2 GHZ (Old processor that I replaced)
AMD Phenom II 1090T x6 @ 3.2GHZ (New processor that replaced the Phenom x4)
MSI Cyclone GTX 550 TI OC (Nvidia)
    8 Gigs 800mhz DDR2 RAM (Computer Bay)
    I have had a GA-M61PME-S2P (rev 1.0) board for several years now and have never had any problems. I recently bought a brand new AMD phenom II x6 1090T processor because it was listed as being supported by my board. The BIOS version that I had installed before purchasing this processor (version F5) was unable to recognize my new processor and boot so I had to update to the latest version (version F7b). After flashing my BIOS with the new version I was able to boot and my computer recognized my processor with the correct name and clock speeds. Unfortunately it now no longer recognizes one of my standard PCI to PCI bridges. Of the two standard PCI to PCI bridges listed in device manager one of them has a yellow exclamation point and reads "error code 35 firmware does not contain enough info to configure this device". I have tried everything I can think of but just cant seem to get my processor and graphics card to work under the same BIOS version. I will now list every step I have taken;
1.)  I have re-flashed several times between versions F5 and F7b but always get the same results
2.)  I have used Driver cleaner in safe mode to wipe all drivers and then double checked programs and features to make sure nothing was still installed.
3.)  I have installed all drivers for the board from Gigabytes website, although when I try to install the VGA driver i get an error saying that no device could be found that supports the driver.
4.) I once again wiped everything in safe mode and then found the latest chipset drivers for nvidia Nforce from NVidia's site but got the same results.
5.) I tried downloading the F7b BIOS from some random website  just in case the file from Gigabyte was somehow broken but this did not change anything. (I know that's generally a bad idea but I am desperate)
6.) I uninstalled the problem standard PCI to PCI bridge in device manager and restarted my computer but got the same results.
7.) I tried installing my graphics card drivers from MSI but got an error saying that no supported hardware could be found.
8.) I tried installing a number of different versions of the Nvidia graphics card drivers for my series but kept getting that same error message
9.) I downloaded the Graphics card detector program that NVidia provides on their site but it told me that it could not detect my graphics card.
10.) I tried Flashing my BIOS to the F6 version for the rev 1.3 board but this turned out to be a huge mistake because my computer would no longer post after this and I had to use a FAT32 flash drive and the q-flash utility to bring it back to life.
11.) I checked over and over and over again that my BIOS settings were right and nothing was setup to only use on-board graphics.
12.) I tried downloading a driver that was supposedly for the PCI to PCI bridge but im fairly sure this was just a trojan because the install did not complete and I found tons of fun plugins installed afterwards (I reformatted shortly after this).
13.) I made sure that my new processor was plugged in and that my BIOS was version F7b and then completely wiped my hard drive and re-installed windows 7 ultimate x64 but got the same results.
14.) I made a bootable DOS flash drive and tried updating my Graphics card BIOS but found that I already have the latest version.
What I don't understand is that my graphics card works perfectly with BIOS version F5 and my processor works perfectly with BIOS version F7b but under no circumstance do they both work at the same time. It may be worth noting that with version F7b installed I am still able to use my graphics card ( my Monitor is plugged into it via DVI) It just gives me the error under device manager and I can not install any drivers.
If anyone out there can help me I will be insanely grateful and will refer to you from then on as the master of all things MSI. I'm at my wits end,  If you need any further info just ask and I will provide.

Ah ok I was afraid you were going to say that. I will take this to gigabyte then but just so I know, This PCI to PCI bridge problem couldn't have anything to do with my MSI graphics card BIOS somehow not being compatible with the Gigabyte BIOS?
    -Thank you!

  • Bridge  no longer working after Migration to new Mac 10.6.4

Howdy. New computer. Used Migration Assistant to load user etc from old hard drive.  Photoshop works fine after re-activation.  CS3 Bridge 2.1.1.9 won't even start.  "Application not responding."  Have re-installed from disk.  Ideas?
    Thanks
    Steve

Weird.  I just left it alone for about half an hour and it suddenly burst into life.  Seems to work properly now.

  • Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge no longer works with imovie

For many years I had use the Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge to transfer video from either a video camera, vhs, dvd player, etc with no problem. After not using it for about a year, I try to use it again now and it does not recognize the video signal coming through the Bridge. It knows that a Hollywood bridge is attached, but does not recognize any signal. I first thought that was related to the new imovie version but I even downloaded again imovie 6 and did not work either.
At one specific moment, it started to work but only transferred video to the imovie 6 version for 7 minutes and the dropped forever.
Anyone knows anything about how to solve this problem? Not sure if the Dazzle DV Bridge is broken now and I need to replace it. Any suggestion?

    Jros,
Amazing ... I have the exact same issue ... last time I used the Dazzle Hollywood DV-Bridge was with my G5 iMac and OS x 10.4 ...
Now, 1 yr. later, I wanted to start importing VHS tapes again with my new Intel iMac using OSX 10.5.2 ... same thing ... iMovie does not even recognize the unit at all ... mine does not seem to be recognized at all as in iMovie, the only import 'camera' that shows up is the built in iSight cam in the iMac. ??? Strange.
Let me know if you find that there is some sort of a fix or what might be done to get it to work again.
I read elsewhere that 2 other options may be the Canopus ADVC110 or the Miglia product that looks like the Apple TV form factor. I'm not sure at this point which one is better.
I still would like to use the Dazzle - as it WAS working perfectly with OSX 10.4 and G5 iMac.
    Any ideas anyone?

  • Place command in Bridge no longer works

I have been using the Place > command in Bridge to place an additional Smart Object into an existing PS doc. It worked fine (except for registration problems if the existing PS image is 100%).
Recently (maybe after upgrading to Leopard) the Place > command does not recognize the existing PS doc. I get the command and arrow, but nothing else after the arrow.
    Thanks,
    Sonny

    Solved!!
When I also learned that I had lost Tools>Photoshop..., I then went into Prefs. Duh!! Turned on Startup Scripts so that Bridge can communicate with PS. Works fine.
    Thanks,
    Sonny

  • Bridge menu no longer working

I can no longer use the camera raw menu button or rotate buttons in CS6 bridge.   Also for many TIFF photos, I get the TiFF logo rather than the photo.
These two problems began that at the same time after I shut down the PS and Bridge in the usual way and then later opened them again.  They worked fine for several months and suddenly they no longer work.

  • Bridge place command no longer works for indesign 2014

Bridge place command no longer works for indesign 2014. It only gives Photoshop as an option. How can I get all other Adobe programs listed under Place ?

Your post sounds like an InDesign question.
Due to the current unavailability of clairvoyants and mind-readers in the forum, we respectfully request you supply sensible, complete details.
A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CC", but something like CC2014.v.2.2) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,

if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,

  • Bridge Crash - "Bridge is no longer working"

I have been using Bridge in CS3 for months now with no problems, it now crashes as soon as I open it "Bridge is no longer working".  I have reloaded my software but I am still having the same problem.  It looks like it is impossible to find a real person with Adobe to ask for technical assistance.  This is my first real issue with PS and am seriously looking at another package.  Any help out here???

The problem encountered in the original post may have been the result of a problem with the SmugMug plugin and, for many, the ensuing problems with Bridge are not fixed by resetting preferences or deleting Bridge cache or resetting the workspace.  The further solution is detailed in another thread, which related to Mac OS, but in which a Windows user posted his solution (which also worked for me on the Mac).  That forum thread is here (if this forum accepts links, if not it is thread 2423516): http://forums.adobe.com/message/2423516
Here is the fix posted by the Windows user:
"One of two files is corrupted.  I don't know which it is, but the system rebuilds them the next time you upload and everything is fine.
    Steps:
    1)  In bridge, select "Edit", then "Preferences".  Select the "Startup Scripts" tab.
    2)  Click the "Reveal Scripts in Explorer" button.
    3)  An explorer window will open.  Navigate to "Adobe", "Online Services", "Adobe Creative Suite 3.0", and then "Cache".
    4)  You should find one or more  files with the extension .dat in this folder.  Delete them.
    5)  Navigate further down the tree to "Adobe", "Online Services", "Adobe Creative Suite 3.0", "Clients", "Adobe Creative Suite", and then "sessions"
    6)  Once again, you will find one or more .dat files.  Delete them.
Close and restart Bridge, making sure that you have "Photoshop Services" checked in the startup preferences.
You probably will have to let bridge rediscover the online services, but once that is done, you should be golden.
This worked for me using CS3 on an XP machine.  I assume it would be similar in Vista and/or CS4, but you may have to be a bit creative."
Note: if you can't get Bridge to open at all (my experience), then just omit the first two steps and go straight to finding the relevant files indicated, using Explorer.
(I personally had this error on Mac OS X, and the same solution worked, the only difference being the location of the files that need to be removed, which is detailed in the thread referenced above.)

  • Scripts no longer working via Bridge

For some reason, scripts no longer works in Bridge CS4.
I've previously installed "Dr. Brown's services" scripts which is available in the "Tools" menu of Bridge. However, when I select some files, then choose this script Photoshop starts up, but nothing more happens.
The same goes for the "Tools"-"Photoshop" menu (Batch, Image processor etc.). Photoshop CS4 starts up but nothing else happens.
However, if I do the same thing in Photoshop itself ("File"-"Scripts") it works fine, so the scripts themselves are working, or so it seems.

If for some reason Bridge suddenly behaviors other then before the first
thing to try is a restart for Bridge holding down option key to refresh the
preferences. Set Prefs again to your wishes and try again.
For some reason, scripts no longer works in Bridge CS4.

  • Lastest camera raw update doesn't work. Bridge no longer recognises my raw files.

I'm using CS 6 and lastest camera raw update doesn't work. Bridge no longer recognises my raw files.

Let's see if I can simplify it for you...are you using CS6 (yes, it seems), are you having ACR problems (yess it seems). So, do you want to fix your issues? Then read this (pay close attention to the details)...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/acr-84-bridge-cs6-metadata.html
It pretty much says you need to download a different version of ACR and install it (if it's not too diffucult for you to understand) to get ACR & Bridge to work properly...or not. Your choice...

  • Sound no longer works after upgrade to Windows 8.1

    System:
    Operating System
    Windows 8.1 64-bit
    CPU
    Intel Core i5 3330 @ 3.00GHz
    23 °C
    Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
    RAM
    8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 (11-11-11-28)
    Motherboard
    LENOVO MAHOBAY (SOCKET 0)
    18 °C
    Audio
    ASUS Xonar DGX Audio Device
I sucessfully upgrading to Windows 8.1 and everything was functioning after the upgrade.  However, after the first time I restarted my system after the upgrade the intergrated soundcard no longer worked.
I attempted to remove and reinstall the RealTek audio driver, downloading the newest 8.1 compatible driver from the Lenovo support site.
The drive refused to installed, either via the executable or by manually installing the driver through a device manager upgrade.
So I attempted to install a stand alone soundcard, to no success.
In device manager this is displayed for both the integrated motherboard audio and the new Asus sound card:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code
    52)
If I disable the driver driver signature enforcement, neither audio option works.  Instead I get this error in device manager:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing.
    (Code 39)"
Attempting to update the driver in device manager, Windows tell me I am on the most up-to-date, recommended driver, yet at the same time refuses to
    allow it to function.
    Extremely frustrating.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also attempted to clear out the registry Upper/Lower Filters to no success.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters orLowerFilters value?
If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?
There could be an improper entry at one of these values which may be causing the problem.

  • [SOLVED]Laptop Internal SD card reader no longer working

Two weeks ago I purchased a Raspberry Pi and set up my own SD card with Arch Linux ARM using the directions at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6/raspberry-pi with the internal SD card reader on my laptop and had no issues.  Today I decided to load up a XBMC distro to a new SD card, but my internal card reader doesn't seem to autodetect or mount my new card.  I tried inserting my other card with Arch ARM that I know is a good card, but it no longer works with that card either.  Here are all my logs that I could think of to post for any advice:

  • Linksys router no longer works with Westell 6100 modem

    Hi all,
I came back after a 3 month work absence (and many days power outages, according to the neighbors), to find that my system can no longer connect to the internet using the Verizon Westell 6100 modem to a Linksys wrt54G router to 2 PCs!
I reset the Westell modem and directly connected the PC to it and THAT works okay, but put the router back in the mix (so I can connect my other PC) and nothing works!
I have read on this forum about 'Bridgeing" the Westell modem but nothing about setting up the router.
Can someone PLEASE give me explicit instructions on how to:
1.)  set up the Westell modem in this "Bridge" mode,
2.)  Set up the Linksys router to work with the modem again??
3.)  Tell me why the old setup no longer works, did verizon change something for this modem?
Thank you VERY much for your help in this matter!
    SUE  ;>)

the router has two connections.  one is called a WAN and that is a wide area network, and it means the internet in your case.  and one is called a LAN, local area network.
what you saw means - that the way you connect to your internet is through PPPoE, a username and a password.
and then way your LAN connects is DHCP,  how all of your local computers connect.  This is important, because after you bridge the westell, you will be setting your Linksys up for PPPoE connection, and NOT DHCP.      if you don't do this step, then you will never connect.
that is fine, and normal.  if you follow the instructions at the link provided - you will be able to connect real easily.
you will want to bridge the westell just follow the instructions for "If your Westell uses the red and black Verizon firmware:"

  • Time Capsule no longer works after unplugged and plugged back in

See if you can follow this.
When i first got the time capsule about 2 months ago i had problems right off the bat. I changed the WEP to a WPA, plugged the time capsule into the router instead of going wirelessly and used it to extend the network. After several time of reseting the capsule, changing settings and passwords, and waiting several minutes for the airport utility to say it could not connect i finally got it to work.
Now, the other day i went to move my desktop to another outlet, so everything was unplugged via the surge protector, for about 5 minutes then plugged back in. Now the capsule no longer works. I was getting the same messages as two months ago, as if everything was reset in turning it off for a minute. I went through the same processes as last time to get it to work, but not this time. After waiting at the airport page for a few minutes it says that internet connection is the issue. Now the capsule is about 1 foot away from the router and plugged in, and i have internet connection to the desktop and my macbook pro.
Does anyone have any ideas, omitting the stupid suggestions web pages tend to give, such as is it plugged in? is it turned on?
    Help is GREATLY appreciated.

"plugged the time capsule into the router' try bridge mode and also configure its wireless setting
