Bridge not functioning in PhotoShop CS3 Extended
I deactivated Photoshop CS3 on a computer I was no longer using and installed it (CS3) another computer. I activiated CS3 on the new computer. However, when trying to use Bridge, I get a message that says that Adobe no longer supports Bridge Home and Bridge does not function on the new computer. Is there anything I can do to get Bridge to function as part of CS3 Extended?
Thanks, that worked.

Photoshop CS3 Extended functions don't work
I just got a copy of Photoshop CS3 Extended. I am using Windows 7 and it installed fine. However, I noticed that many functions (i.e Filter Gallery) show up in light gray and can't be activated. All standard plugins are visible but also can't be triggered. I am not familiar with Photoshop yet and I am not sure whether I am missing something here. Any help is much appreciated.
ThanksThanks a lot or the hint. Of course I was in 16bits channel.
Appreciate your help. -
Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended installed but not working
Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended was added to my computer when I bought it in Thailand.
Now (I am no longer in Thailand) I want to use it but I can't seem to open/do anything.
Even when asking for help with the 'Help' button it states that "There was an error in initializing the Adobe Help application. You may need to re-install the applicaiton and the Help componen".
How do I do this? Or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for the help!
ElineHaha... I like the honesty!
I was in bad need for a computer and went to one of those fancy, big shopping malls recommended to me by a couple of friends. I didn't even know I had Adobe Photoshop until today. I am not sure I really got screwed or things just work differently. The computer is a little strange... (I can write in Thai สกร่ฟส กส่ฟกส า่ฟส ่ if I would like to) but so far it's ben okay.
Anyways, what would you suggest I do Mylenium? -

Photoshop CS3 Extended Keyboard Shortcut Not Working
I installed the CS3 Master Collection that included Photoshop CS3 Extended. I've used Photoshop for going on a decade and I find the CTRL+ALT+I keyboard shortcut really handly to pop open the Image Size window.
Now, in this new version (don't after a clean format, reinstall of my XP OS) the shortcut no longer works. I check and it still has CTRL+ALT+I listed next to Image Size in the drop down menu as the proper keys, but it does not work.
Anyone having this issue?I tried resetting the preferences but to no avail.
I'm avoiding having to do an uninstall/reinstall like the plague so If I can find what's causing it and fix it manually that would be preferred.
I have thought about running the Adobe updater but I'm concerned that it may cause more problems that it would fix (as this has happed to me before with other apps). Everything else works great and this is the only issue I've noticed.
Does anyone know if the update for Photoshop CS3 Extended addressed his issue (or knows of another cause that might be behind it)? -
Photoshop CS3 Extended "Not Responding" after selecting horizontal type tool.
Hello,
When I start my PhotoShop CS3 Extended v10.0 and load up a jpg and
then zoom in and go select the horizontal type tool and click on my
jpg, PS just freezes and then I click the main screen and then it
tells me infinetly that it has "Stop Responding"
I am running Win XP Pro SP2 (2600) 2GB DDR, ample HD space, Intel Core
Duo processor 1.66GHz.
Can some one tell me whats going on?I have deleted the pref file vie the Crtl + Alt + Shft Meathod.
It still won't load up.
How did I get to the Crtl + Alt + Shft Meathod?
Good question..... I right clicked the .exe icon and selected
Run as , Current User and --> Unchecked <-- "Protect computer and data
from unauthorized program activity"
And SP started up with no problems.
BTW I wasn't being sarcastic with my last post as I see you used
all Caps in your reply which on the internet is considerd yelling.
If I had something sarcastic to say i would put in quotes "said with
a sarcastic tone", but i did not. I was mearly implying what the words
ment. I say what I mean and I mean what I say, period. Thanks for your help BTW and for now that problem still remains when clicking
the .exe file. Nothing has changed other then I can start PS when
following the directions I have stated here in this reply.
What are your opinions on this?
I would love to hear your thoughts. -

The Download-File for Photoshop CS3 Extended "Deutsch" in the column for Windows inadvertent is not deposited as an exe- or zip-file but as a dmg-file for MacOS; this cannot be opened under Windows. (See download http://helpx.adobe.com/de/creative-suite/kb/cs3-product-downloads.html)
Achims11206356 are you able to download from Download CS3 products? You may need to adjust your region on Adobe.com to the United States to view the English version of the page.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes on startup under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - No splash screen
I installed my licensed copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended today as part of my install a bunch of software after a reinstall of Windows (due to viruses). I did a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I've used Photoshop CS3 Extended for quite a while now so I know what to expect on startup but it was previously installed under Windows XP Professional (32-bit). Figured I would give Windows 7 a chance this time around.
Google searches aren't turning up anything. When I attempt to start the application, I get a window with the title "Adobe Photoshop CS3" (no "Extended" - I seem to recall the title changes later) and the toolbar appears. However, no splash screen appears and no Product Activation wizard appears - the application simply freezes on an empty frame and a toolbar. I've tried running Photoshop as Administrator (right-click, "Run As Administrator"), but nothing changed there. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I tried upgrading to CS3 10.0.1. Nothing works. The application simply freezes before it gets anywhere.
I tried calling Adobe Support since this technically falls under installation issues but their phone support systems are down today. Go figure.
Edit: I hooked into Photoshop with the Visual Studio debugger and every single thread is executing some variation of WaitForSingleObject() or WaitForMultipleObjects(). The main thread is "executing" somewhere in AdobeLM_libFNP.dll (at address 09619d81 - if I had debugging symbols for CS3, I could provide a function). There are nine threads "running" at the point the freeze occurs - but all of them are technically suspended due to the functions they are executing - and one thread is in a suspended state.Log Name: Application

And, according to the Event Viewer, the "Binary" data translates to a zero-terminated Unicode string of "Cross-thread".
My Visual Studio analysis was far more informative. All threads are hung inside of WaitForSingleObject() and WaitForMultipleObjects() calls and the DLL in question appears to be FlexNet-related. I did forget to mention that I also even manually started the FlexNet service in case, for some strange reason, Photoshop was waiting for it to start. That also did not work.
(And there is nothing in the Action Center control panel either despite the message saying there might be more information there.)
Edit: The timestamp above might be a little odd-looking. I didn't originally see anything in Event Viewer until I clicked the first button to send an Error Report. Mostly I just skipped that part of killing a process. -
I have just installed Photoshop CS3 extended from my CS# Master Collection CD and I am not able to see my raw images from my Canon 40D camera. Can anyone help me with this. I have loaded the camera raw files 4.3.1 upgrade and I still can't see the images in Bridge. The error I get is Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document.
So you have admin rights on the computer.
When you installed CS3, from the CD, did you run the set up as admin? Least for Vista and Windows 7 the screen should dim and a pop up window asks you (if your logged on the computer as administrator) if you want to run the set up (or something along that nature). You choose yes and the software will run as administrator
Also when you first ran CS3 did you open the .exe propertise, compatibility and check Rrun this program as an administrator? That has to be done too. -
Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop CS3 Extended?
For better integration with FCP, which one is better: Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop CS3 Extended?
Actually I want to know in what ways Photoshop works with FCP. < </div>
FCP will import PSDs in at least two different ways. The choice is project- or needs-based, not function-based.
Are the video editing functions of Photoshop Extended redundant when one has FCP? < </div>
Nope. That's rather like asking since you can review/delete photos on your camera, do you still need Photoshop.
But we're starting to get a feel for where you're coming from, which would have helped tremendously in the first post.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extend Error
I had to re install Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extend but now every time I try to start it, it errors out withe the following:
"Could not load the user measurement data point presets file because the file name was not valid."
and "Could not load the user measurement scale presets file because the file name was not valid."
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!(no reinstalling doesn't reset the preferences...) :)

Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended on Windows XP Professional
Topic: Selecting
I have been using Photoshop Elements 4 until I just purchased Photoshop CS3 Extended. In Photoshop Elements 4 there is a selection brush, enabling you to make pixel by pixel selection (if desired). There seems to be NO counterpart in CS3 - - which seems impossible for so powerful a program. In that most of my work involves selecting very precise points of 1 or 2 pixels, how can this be done?
Please help.
Thank youDave Milbut:
Thanks so much for responding . . but, unfortunately does NOT work again! I did exactly as you suggested in that I made a selection fir so that I could get a quick mask. When I double-clicked on quick mask in the tools pallet, NO options appear that say "Paint on selections" nor "paint on mask". The options is get are "Color indicates Mask Area or Selected area" and you have to chose one. The only thing you are actually choosing is whether you want the color to appear on the mask you chose or inversely to appear on the remainder of the object. The "black" brush remains the same and does not change.
If I do not learn how to make minute selections (so that I will be able to act on only tiny tiny areas) I will not be able to use this program after spending a million dollars for it. It looks like Adobe could make something so fundamental (available in Elements) available here.
Could you help me further . . . PLEASE !
Thank you. -
Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended Trial
Hi guys, I've recently downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended. When I select the trial period for 30 days instead of buying the product, it says that Adobe cannot continue and it's having trouble loading the trial. I reinstalled it and restarted my computer, like it said, and nothing worked. Please help, I cannot afford Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended right now, and I do not support piracy at all.
I've tried to install the program from a different directory, I think my windows installer is crashing every time i try to install it, maybe I find a working hotfix for it.
I followed these steps when i tried to install ps:

First I downloaded it to C:~~/Downloads (1.)
Then I extracted this file to C:~/Desktop (2.)
Afterwards I got these files (3.)
After clicking on setup.exe this window (4.) appears and disappears right after
