Bridge not previewing full InDesign spread

I am having a problem with Bridge not previewing the will Indesign spread, it only shows the first page, is there a fix?

The answer is no. Sadly Adobe cancelled the spread preview with CS5. InDesign saves only single page previews into the indd-file. Actually I discuss this topic in the InDesign forum because imho its a preview image issue of InDesign (fron CS5 till now). Perhaps you can tell your story over there. I think the moderator there thinks that its just me wanting the spread view in Bridge.

  • Cs3 extended bridge not previewing canon 40d raw files

ok, i just loaded cs3 extended onto my laptop and when i opened bridge the fist time i got a error message that these were not the the right king of file. so my next step was to update ACR to 4.5. i intalled that and put the plugin into files directory. that worked, but now my problem is that bridge will not preview my raw files in bridge. i then went to tool and purge the cache and that also didn't work. so my next step was to update bridge to 2.1.1. so i went back to tool to purge the cache and it still not preview raws in bridge. i converted  several to jpegs and they show up in bridge. i am at a loss of what to do next
    thanks

The ACR plug in has to be in correct folder and only one copy there.  If you copied it there the old copy my be present so delete or rename it.
The ACR plug in does not go in the plug in directory.
It goes in Program Files/COMMON Files/Adobe/plugins/CS3/file formats.   Should be one file here - Camera Raw.8bi
I think when you get this sorted out it should work.

  • EPS font not previewing in Indesign CS5 overprint view

    Hi,
After importing an eps logo into Indesign CS5 it previews fine when Overprint Preview is turned off, but when overprint view is turned on only the logo icon appears, the font disappears.
The font has been outlined - the logo is solid white and appearing on a solid black background. When exporting the file to pdf the font also disappears. I have tried saving the file as an AI file with the same result.
    Any ideas?

First of all you should be using native Illustrator .ai files with PDF compatibility turned on (this shows up in the options dialogue after you save).
Your logo was converted from artwork originally done in black with the Overprint Fill attribute turned on. Overprint tells the output device not to know out the colour below the logo. When printing black, this makes sense. When printing white, this effectively makes the logo vanish, since the only way to print white is by knocking out.
Open the logo in Illustrator and select all the vanishing white artwork (probably a Select All will do). Open the Attributes panel and turn off Overprint Fill. Save as an Illustrator file and place that.

  • Help with InDesign spread previews in Bridge CS6

Our company is updating to CS6 and needs to be able to view InDesign files as spreads as we did in CS3. We produce many catalogs a year and each spread is a separate file. We use Bridge (CS3) to view the entire catalog at once. Now, with CS6, we can only see one page of the document, even though the preference is set to 2 pages in InDesign. We need an update. Please help!

I don't believe so. It's how Bridge displays InDesign files. In CS6, it's showing a single page and not the full spread that it used to. There is a preferance in Indesign that you can set the size and number of pages to preview. It's set to 2, which is the default.
This is a critical feature that needs to be restored. The link for the feature Request is not working, nor is the reporting a bug link.
After reading someone's comment, it appears that InDesign does not write the appropriate meta data for bridge to preview the spread, so perhaps it is an InDesign issue. Nevertheless, it has not been fixed since 2011!
How can I get through to Adobe???

  • Show InDesign spreads in Bridge

We recently upgraded to CS5. In CS3, Bridge showed the start spread for InDesign documents as previews, but in CS5 only the first page of a document shows up. We much prefer to see both pages, is there any way to get Bridge to show the full start spread again?

    Hi Ramon,
I figured out the problem. I wanted to see two pages side by side so I had a blank page one. That's the one Bridge was showing and it was, of course, white.
    Silly me.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • Bridge CS6 not connecting to InDesign or Photoshop

Indesign and Photoshop can no longer connect to Bridge. It states that Bridge not on the system but it is there and working? From within InDesign i click on the Bridge button and it tells me i have to install Bridge!!! and from within Bridge you cannot Place items into Indesign or Photoshop. I'm on a mac running Mountain Lion

I have tried that one but it didn't work.
First open Bridge preferences and see under the chapter start up scripts if the scripts for PS and Indesign are present and have a checkmark in front. If no checkmark select them to activate and try again. If no script at all:
Try to find and delete the plist file for Bridge:
Quit Bridge and all other CS apps.
Go to the user library (by default hidden per OSX 10.7, use menu go and press option to reveal it.
In the folder preferences find the file: 'com.adobe.bridge5.plist" and drag this file to the trash.
Again restart Bridge holding down option key and again choose reset prefs.
    Then try again.

  • Area of Bridge not displaying

Whether I open Bridge Full Screen or Minimise the full content of Bridge does not appear.  The right hand side is missing (the close down cross shows).  I can put the Content on the right or Preview on the right or even have a horizontal bar but however I put the window panes I cannot see the righthand side properly.  If using a horizontal bar at bottom for images then the scroll bar does not show full and cannot get to the end of the line.  If a pane is used on the right then the vertical scroll bar does not show.  In other words the right hand side of the Bridge panes do not display fully.  Any answers.

the Attach Files function is a bit bugged at the moment, use the camera button to add pictures. Not sure i understand your problem without a screenshot by try reseting the preferences and maybe even the standard workspaces by holding Ctrl as soon as you launch Bridge(you have to be fast, you should get a dialog box before Bridge shows up if done right/fast enough)

  • How can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2?

how can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2? I need to print a engineering print with lot of information but information is too small in letter size and I don't have a plotter.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
    ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
    SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.
    Hope this helps!

  • Bridge not functioning in PhotoShop CS3 Extended

I deactivated Photoshop CS3 on a computer I was no longer using and installed it (CS3) another computer.  I activiated CS3 on the new computer.  However, when trying to use Bridge, I get a message that says that Adobe no longer supports Bridge Home and Bridge does not function on the new computer. Is there anything I can do to get Bridge to function as part of CS3 Extended?

    Thanks, that worked.

  • When exporting files to web pages Aperture keeping losing files, so for instance, if I choose to export 600 images to a new web page, it might do 524 images but not the full 600. I've tried resetting Aperture, it's the latest version etc etc. Help please!

If anyone can help me with this I would be seriously grateful.
When exporting mutliple files to web pages Aperture keeping losing files, so for instance, if I choose to export 600 images to a new web page, it might make 524 pages but not the full 600. I've tried resetting Aperture and its persmission and am using the latest version of 3.
I have 3600 images which I need to upload as sublfolders, each with their own URL and at the moment Aperture is dropping of anything from 1 to 90 images.
This is critical as people need to see each and every on of these images online. So if a file has 600 photos in it, Aperture should make a URL with 600 full image pages. And this is what it's not doing. On small files, say 30 or so it seems to work well, it's when it gets to more than that the problem starts.
I've used Aperture in the past under previous versions and not had this problem.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.
    Bob.

    Hi Jack,
Thanks for responding (as it seems as though no one else has been able to provide any insight as of yet)! Not sure if you saw my recent post, but the version of Aperture on the 2008 MacBook has been upgraded to 3.1.2 (not sure how; I bought it in 2009, but only have OS X 10.5.8... which apparently can't house 3.1.2 of Aperture, but hey, like many other anomalies i'm encountering, I'm no longer surprised!). I am unable to upgrade it any further, as it warns me that my OS X does not fit the requirements. I exported the projects as libraries; however, like I posted before, apparently these are from too old of a version for the new Aperture (3.3.1) to handle and import.
It's getting to the point where I'd almost pay to upgrade the OS X on my previous MacBook (10.5.8) to something newer in order to THEN update Aperture to a newer version; however, my previous MacBook simply cannot handle this (the specs are awful -- hence my decision to save up and upgrade to the newest MBP with Retina).
I've spent hours upon hours transferring files, libraries as projects, previews, versions, even masters (though, apparently some of them aren't accessible?) with no luck. I've rebuilt the library and reprocessed everything. And this is all after having to return one MBP already since Aperture 3.3.1 is glitch-y as it is, and froze everything for having a "managed library". So, now that I know that I have to deal with a referenced library in Aperture... I just need to actually transfer my previous library to my new one (hopefully WITH adjustments since these are years worth of photos and work).
Again, any help is appreciated. I've lost enough sleep, time, and vision health over this at this point.
Also, I know Migration Assistant is an option, I was told that it wouldn't work properly anyway because of the different operating systems, and the potential for problems.

  • How to show rating dots and file name underneath thumbnail in Bridge CS4 preview workspace?

How to show rating dots and file name underneath thumbnail in Bridge CS4 preview workspace?

Thank you! That was it. The option to change it is not available in preferences (though I believe it was in early CS versions). It's hidden in a dropdown menu associated with an icon at the top. It sure wasn't easy to find, and I probably would not have done so without your lead. Thanks again!

  • Adobe Bridge Forced Preview

I had a look through the forum, could not see mention of this, it's not to say I may have missed this, one feature I would love is a button or similar in the Filter Area or a similar public visible area where you could enable bridge to force preview past the edge of the content screen area... So when you click on a folder with say 500 images in it, as Bridge starts to look in the Folder and render up preview images, you have to scroll up and down to get bridge to render/preview the images.
Of course you have to use the slider to resize the preview images to as small as possible make bridge preview more and then increase the preview size to see them larger. I use both mac and pc versions of CS3 suites and have yet to see if CS5 will do this feature... but to have the ability to select and folder and subfolders to force index them, walk away while Bridge does it work and come back to a set of finished previewed images where I can scroll up and down without bridge trying to preview images as I scroll would be fantastic...
I would love to see this in PC and Mac versions of Bridge and I don't care about cache size, time, network vs local files etc, just to have the feature of forcing bridge to preview the entire contents would be great in my everyday work processes
I hope I have got the idea across...
    Volker

Thank you very much for your answer.
    I'm sorry, I think I told confused.
As you said, the zoom rate of 100%, 200%, 400% and 800% as I know.
However, these rates are forcing me. I want to grow from 50%.
I understand that there is such an option Bridge: (
Is not it possible to develop?
    Thanks again,

  • If I don't know how to use mini bridge in Photoshop and InDesign.

I tried to use mini bridge from photoshop and inDesign both but unsuccessfully. Displays message "Waiting for Bridge CS5..." and it seems for hours and hours but not working... .
But Adobe Bridge is working perfectly. Does anyone has the same problem?

So, I have the same problem with the mini bridge not loading. I noticed it also wouldn't load at my school on their Mac computers, too. I wondered if it had anything to do with me only having the free trial but the school's computer isn't free trial. I looked at the two solutions you've provided.
    1. When I went to the following...
    Win 64 bit machines: \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SwitchBoard\SwitchBoard.exe
There was no SwitchBoard folder, or SwitchBoard.exe on my computer anywhere... (Windows 8 64 bit)
    2. I then tried to see about your second solution and followed the link... it doesn't support my computer version ><
So I'm not really sure what to do since I need to get this working in order to complete my class assignment.... I am using the free trial at the moment but plan to buy the monthly plan through Adobe Creative Cloud for Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

  • Print Preview in InDesign?

Sorry, I thought this would be simple to find by searching, but it appears that each page with an answer on it has Print Preview at the bottom, so I'm getting a huge number of unrelated hits!  I'm converting publications from Ventura Publisher 10 to InDesign CS4 on Windows XP. I'm used to using Print Preview in Ventura to view the placement of the page within the paper size and confirm everything is the way I want it before printing. I'm not needing to view color separations.
For example, my page size for the printed publication is smaller than 8-1/2 x 11, but I'm also printing a postscript file to an 8-1/2 x 11 page size, then distilling a pdf version that is converted to a fax tiff image and transmitted by our fax service bureau to our subscribers. When I do this, I need to determine an exact percentage enlargement that will bring the content as close to the margins as possible, since the fax adds a header and shrinks it back down. In Ventura, I can open print preview and tweak it, seeing in real time how my changes will print, quickly tweaking to bring images or text that are cut off back onto the page by changing the scaling or position of the content on the printed page size. I can't see a way to do that in InDesign. It's taking a lot more time since I can't eyeball it first before printing to file and making the pdf to test the change.
Am I just not getting how to do this? I see the Preview Window under print, but it isn't showing me the exact placement of the elements on the page, so I can see what's getting cut off and where, just the overall size of the enlarged area.
    Thanks -- Nancy

I'm sorry, I think I have not been very clear. This document has two purposes. I have a page setup to be printed on a press. It's not 8-1/2 x 11, because it has to be setup smaller for the press. It is perfect for that purpose. To get a file I can feed to my fax broadcast system, I just need a postscript print file, the same file, that is now printed to a media size of 8-1/2 x 11, as large as possible to fill the space, with slightly different settings as to position on page, grayscale instead of color, etc.  I am trying to avoid creating a separate document, or making changes to this document, because it isn't really necessary. This document is perfect for its purpose of creating the printed page; I just need a print file of it that's scaled a little larger to fit an 8-1/2 x 11 page so I can now run it through my fax system.
The final output is not the problem. I can find the correct scale and position and fix it in the Print Preset and I am done forever. My frustration is that to find the correct settings in InDesign, during this testing phase, I have to keep printing, creating the pdf, to just see what if changing the scaling by 1% will now move, for example, the page number back on the page so it will be in the pdf for the fax. In Ventura, I would hit print preview, use a hand to move the page on the media until it was in position, and set it up in print setup so it could be attached to a script and print the same way each time. But I could see it visually prior to printing, and that's all I was trying to do in InDesign.
It's true I'm having to move my creaky brain a new direction, and I'll look at your suggestions again. Thank you both for reading and responding to my original message. From your responses, I take it that the answer to my actual original question is, no, there is no print preview in InDesign that lets you view the actual image of the page on the media, and how it changes when different Print > Setup > Options are selected. The only way to really view it is to change the publication, so you show a page size that is the media size, and move the elements of the page and enlarge them to fit where you want them on the page.
