Bridge not recognizing RAW files

How do get bridge in CS4 to recognize raw files from my Canon 5D Mk3?

If in photoshop cs3 you go to Photoshop>About Plug-in and click on the words Camera Raw, which version does it show?
Since photoshop cs3 can only use up to camera raw 4.6 and the EOS 5D Mark II requires at least camera raw 5.2, cs3 won't open those files directly without some help.

The 4.6 camera raw plugin update for photoshop cs3
Adobe - Photoshop : For Macintosh : Camera Raw 4.6 update
You could use the 8.7.1 dng converter to convert the files to dng copies which then bridge should see and photoshop cs3 should be able to open.

Had to re-install my Adobe CS3 due to hard drive crash.
Now that I have re-installed, Photoshop & Bridge won’t recognize my raw files.
I HAVE updated my Adobe Camera Raw (3 times in the last hour), and my DNG Converter (4 times in the last hour). Nothing works. Any ideas?

  • Lightroom 4.4 not recognizing RAW files from supported cameras

I started to get problems with Lightroom not recognizing RAW files from my Fuji XE-1 and Canon 5D Mark 3 cameras but I thought it was a problem with RC. After downloading some files today in 4.4 without a problem I encountered the same error message (unable to inport listed RAW files) again. The files open fine in Bridge. Any idea what is causing this problem?

    Hi Geoff
I use a Mac with the latest version of Mountain Lion OS. The image files are being imported from the cards; in the case of the Fuji an SD card inserted in the card reader slot on the Mac and in the case of the Canon a CF flash card in a card reader attached to the Mac.
Appreciate any help you can provide.

  • IPhoto not recognizing RAW files

I have a Canon t2i (550d) and have taken photo's in RAW mode... however neither iPhoto of Aperture seem to recognize this type of file (.cr2, a canon type of raw file).. it seems to be supported by other camera's.. is anyone else experiencing this , or a similar issue? All software updates are current.

While it is true that every CR2 is different, the actual file internals have no more difference than, say JPEGS. After all, Adobe can take almost any RAW file and convert it to an equivalent DNG. It is really that each camera is different. Each sensor responds differently to light. Without Canon's help, Apple must get hold of (several?) cameras and take a bunch of images and profile them. If you are interested, here are the details of what needs to be done:

(You can profile your own camera!)

  • Not recognized raw files from Nikon D7000

    Hi,
I have just bought a Nikon D7000 in stead of my D60. Now my Photoshop Element 9 cannot recognize the files/pictures, which I do not understand. Can anyone help me?

    Hi,
That's strange, I have just managed to download it on a windows system.
As I said earlier, I don't have a MAC system so I'm not sure what to check there.
You could try this - it's the 6.3 update

Hopefully a MAC expert might jump in.

  • Bridge CS5.1 not recognizing RAW from Canon 5DM3...

    Hello All,
I'm having difficulty with Bridge CS5.1 recognizing RAW files from a recently aquired Canon 5DM3.
I've downloaded the 6.7 patch and ran the adobe installer (which gave no error), rebooited the Mac, ran subsequently "purge cache" under "tools", and still no avail.    The blank icon persist, "Camera Raw Options" continues to be unavailable, and cant find where the RAW data files are/were (compounding this problem is that macs and adobe are new to me).
I realize that this issue has been previously addressed, but following some of these suggestions, I still can't get the patch to work. Any suggestions and comments will be most appreciated.

Like Curt stated, in PS go to menu Photoshop / About Plug ins / Camera raw. This brings a window showing the correct version number of Adobe Camera Raw (it should state 6.7 and only one version visible.
On you system it should be in this location:
In Finder use column mode and click on your disk with the system on it (normally it shows 4 folders: Library , Users , Applications and System) Click on Library and follow this path / Application Support / Adobe / Plug-Ins / CS5.1 / File Formats. Inhere should be only one file called "Camera Raw.plugin"
If you click on this file the info next to it should show the version number, in your case 6.7

  • Bridge dont show raw files

hello bridge dont show raw files, I bought todaz PS CC , installed it, removed it and installed again an d  it doesnt work still

    Hi All,
About four months ago, I purchased CS3. I own two digital cameras, an EOS 5D and an EOS G9. I always shoot in Raw. When using a card reader to upload images through Bridge (i.e. get photos from camera), It worked flawlessly when reading the 5D. I could see the Raw images in bridge without a problem. When trying to read the EOS G9 Raw files from a card reader through bridge (i.e. get photos from camera) they were not recognized. I figured it must have something to do with drivers or how Camera Raw interprets the data. I upgraded Camera Raw, I believe to 4.5 on the advise from folks at Adobe. Bridge now recognizes the G9 Raw files and uploads them without issue. However, when trying to view the uploaded images through bridge it doesn't see the Raw images other than as a little Icon with a CR2 flag. Camera Raw can open an individual image, but the only way to view the images in mass, is to convert them to a PSD or JPG format. To have a few hundred Raw images in bridge and not be able to see them unless they're all converted to PSD or JPG is really disconcerting. Any insights or help with this would really be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance .... -Scott

  • Why can't Bridge open my raw files from Canon PowerShot 120-S? Using PS/5

Why can't Bridge open my raw files from my new Canon Power Shot 120-S camera? I'm using PS-5 and had no problems with other Canon cameras. I downloaded Adobe Camera Raw 8 but this has not resolved the problem.
    Jack

    1. you need cr 8.3+ for the Canon PowerShot S120
    2. ps cs5 can only update to cr 6.7
free solution: use the dng converter: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5694
integrated solution: upgrade to ps cc.  here are the options (but especially note the photographer plan for 9.99/mo) - http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/buying-guide.html

  • Photoshop Elements 5.0 can not find raw files on camera

I'm running Photoshop Element 5.0 on Windoze Vista.
For some reason Adobe Photo Downloader does not see any of the raw files
    on the CF card.
I have a Canon G3 and Canon D20 neither of them work anymore.
It used to work with PS 4.0.
The weird thing is I can copy the files over to a directory on my laptop through the windows copy command and then import the raw files via 'Import from directory'.
Going that route I can see and edit the files but going directly through Photo Downloader does not work. It sees the jpegs fine, but not the raw files.
    I tried both Raw 4.0 and 4.1.
Not sure what is going on.
    Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my Nikon D50. With a lot of help from Adobe technical support, I got round it by changing the USB configuration in the camera from PTP to the older "Mass Storage".
I was told that it was a compatibility problem between the camera, Vista, and Adobe, that should be corrected sometime in the future.

  • Can not open RAW-Files from Nikon D4 in Photoshop cc

hi. i can not open RAW-Files from Nikon D4 in Photoshop cc. (Camera RAW 6.7) can you help please?

ACR 6.7 would be for an older product, PS-CS5 or PSE10 or PRE10.
What does Help / About Plug-ins… / Camera Raw… show in PS-CC for a version for ACR and is there more than one version of ACR in the Help / About Plug-in list.  Help / About Plug-in is what I’d do on Windows; I’m not sure if the menu path is the same on a Mac or not.

  • I can not open raw files in elements 12 any help please?

I can not open raw files from my Nikon D610 in elements 12. (I have already downloaded raw converter 8.3 but to no avail) any help please would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Can you confirm which Camera Raw PSE 12 is actually using by loading the editor and going to Help -> About Plug-in -> Camera Raw.
If you do Help -> Updates it may install the latest camera raw of 8.4 - not on XP or Vista systems.
Do you use any Nikon software to download the images? The older versions have been known to corrupt the files.
See the following for more info.

  • I can not open raw files in cs6 extended ,my camera is Nikon D 800E.

I can not open raw files in cs6 extended ,my camera is Nikon D 800E.
Hope some one can help me.
                                     Robert chen

The D800E is definitely supported in Camera Raw 7.1 which is compatible with CS6.
Which version of Camera Raw are you running?
Win: Help > About Plug-In > Camera Raw
Mac: Photoshop > About Plug-In > Camera Raw
If you're already on 7.1, what exactly happens when you try to open Raw files from that camera?
