Bridge not seeing metadata templates

Hello--what is the answer?

The location is correct. The template would be called "Me.xmp" in my case. So it must have the extension xmp.
In Bridge you go into the Metadata panel menu (upper right) and it should appear as a choice in the flyout menu.
"Me" replaces the metadata with my copyright info on a selected file or group of files. Your template titles should appear there.

Not seeing menu template in front of background video clip

When I put my video clip in the editor for a background and pick the tutorial main menu template, I do not see the diagonal lines in the editor, only buttonsfrom the template. So , I am not seeing the template in front of my backround clip.

Bridge not remembering metadata settings

I use CS6 and I'm finding that Bridge is not remembering the metadata properties I set in Preferences. Once I reboot my PC, it forgets them.
Any idea what might be causing this?

If you have start Bridge at launch enabled you closing proceedure should work.
Have you tried setting your panels where you want then saving this as a workspace?

After importing images from my card using LR 5.4, the GPS data does not show in the metadata panel. However, when I look at the imported images using Bridge, the GPS data is visible. Anybody know why LR is not seeing the GPS data? Camera is Canon 6D.

Ok, the issue seem to be solved. The problem was this:
The many hundred files (raw and xmp per image) have been downloaded by ftp in no specific order. Means - a couple of files in the download queue - both raw and xmps. Most of the time, the small xmp files have been finished loading first and hence the "last change date" of these xmp files was OLDER than the "last change date" of the raw file - Lightroom then seem to ignore the existence of the xmp file and does not read it during import.(a minute is enough to run into the problem)
By simply using the ftp client in a way that all large raw files get downloaded first followed by the xmp files, we achieved that all "last changed dates" of the xmp files are NEWER than the related raw files. (at least not older)
And then LR is reading them and all metadata information has been set / read correctly.
So this is solved.

Do you know why the metadata template in Bridge fails for DNGs?

I am writing in IPTC (IIM, Legacy) and IPTC Core metadata into dng files in Bridge (CS4) using the Metadata Templates, and the template I set up works fine for jpgs but when I try to use it for dngs the captions/keywords get written over using the file info from the first image in the folder.
If I select all images in the folder (in Bridge) then right click to File Info and use the Metadata Template I set up with "Keep original metadata, but replace matching properties from template" selected it over-writes the captions/keywords. When all the images are selected and you look at the file info it should say (Multiple Values) in the Caption/Keyword panels but it doesn't, it fills in with the first image in the folder. But if I select all the images and use the drop down from the metadata tab and click Replace Metadata and selected the template I set up it works just fine and the captions/keywords remain in tact.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

First, let's get a bit clearer on our terminology, shall we?
What you are seeing is not a "Build Tag". Sure, the Span indicates a tag and it's there when you build, but a "Build Tag" is a special tag inside RoboHelp that you apply to specific content that you wish to omit from the build using a counterpart known as a "Build Expression".
A Build Tag in RoboHelp looks like this:
<?rh-cbt_start condition="InProgress" ?>New model coming<?rh-cbt_end ?>
What you are reporting is an inline styling element.
Is this a project that began life in RoboHelp 9? Or was it created in an earlier version and was upgraded along the way? Does the same thing occur with a totally new topic you create?

Bridge cs3 mac 2.1.1.9 will not append metadata

I've been using Bridge CS3 for a long time now on my iMac 2Ghz Core Duo (Tiger OS X 10.4.11) with 2 GB of RAM
I have been using the same metadata template for a year, and have updated to Bridge 2.1.1.9
Starting today, whenever I try to append metadata to a 1.6 Gb folder of images (Nikon D300 jpg's), I get the error message "There was a problem writing metadata to...."
I have held the option key at Bridge startup , purged the folder cache, and checked the "Use Software rendering" option in preferences
I have tried appending metadata to a smaller folder with the same results
I use Bridge every day to tag and keyword photos - please help me to get this working again

I split the files into 2 folders and tried to append metadata on a folder that contained 99 files totaling 568MB
That did not work
I removed the file that was first reported as "problem writing metadata..", purged the folder cache and tried again - the error occurred on the very next file numerically
The error always seems to start with the highest-numbered file in the folder
I have also tried replace metadata and that does not work
I have also tried to enter metadata manually and then apply it to all the images in a folder - that does not work either
Maybe this 2.1.1.9 update has broken metadata somehow?

Can LR 4 use Bridge CS5 Metadata Templates?

I have generated approx 30 + Metadata Templates in Bridge CS5 and I want to see if I can speed up my work flow when working in Lightroom 4.
So I suppose the question is ; is it possible to achieve the apparent impossible or is there a solution?

It is about PS and I can't find one for Bridge but it might be a guide to the location because that would be probably the same. I am a Mac user so can't confirm this myself

Metadata template created in Bridge can't change "Copyright Status" property

If I create a metadata template in Bridge CS4, select Copyright Status and set it to Copyrighted,
any other metadata changes in the template will be applied, but "Copyright Status won't change.
I can't even manually set the Copyright Status from within Bridge. If I try, I get an error message,
"This property cannot be modified."
Here's the workaround — create the template in Photoshop or Illustrator, not Bridge.
Open one of the images in Photoshop or Illustrator, select File Info, enter the metadata,
and select Export. The resulting template will be available in Bridge,
and it can change the Copyright Status.
A fix for this in the next incarnation of Bridge would be greatly appreciated.

As with almost all my problems, there is apparently no solution, so I am going to try reinstalling photoshop. So can someone at least tell me what is likely to be overwritten so that I can protect it. And where they are stored? EG Web Gallery templates? Keywords?

Not seeing my metadata changes from Light Room 3 in PSE 8

PSE 8 is on my Mac.
LR 3 is on my PC.
I make changes to my image in LR 3 then choose "Save Metadata to File", then move the JPG to my Mac.
Go into PSE 8 and Browse using Bridge. Bridge *does* show my changes. If I open in RAW editor, changes there, too.
But if I open the file in PSE 8, no changes are there.
I would much appreciate it if someone could help me out. I cannot find anything via numerous google searches.

3. It is a JPG file.
1&2... I made several changes to my file (crop, tones, lighting, etc.) while in LR. Then, in LR, I chose "Save Metadata to File". When I open the file in PSE 8, I do not see any of the LR changes that I made. Instead I see the *original* file, with none of the changes that I made in LR.
However, when I use Bridge to browse the file, the thumbnail does, indeed, show the changes that I made in LR. I can tell because of the crop and drastic color/tone changes I made.
Moreover, if I open in the RAW editor from Bridge, the RAW editor also displays all the changes I made in LR.
Only when I open it in PSE do I *not* see the changes that were made in LR, even though the metadata is obviously saved to the file given the two points above with Bridge and RAW editor.

Create Metadata Template Bug in Bridge w/ Vista 64

I recently installed CS3 on a new 64-bit Vista PC. When I go to create a metadata template in Bridge, it only comes up with a gray dialog box instead of displaying any options or checkboxes (see attached). Can't figure it out. If anyone knows a way to fix this, please let me know!

You can also hold down the Ctrl key and then start Bridge and still get reset window. Helps with the tricky timing issue of clicking on Bridge icon first, then trying to press Crtl key before Bridge starts.

What's seen is that the preview thumbnails in Finder disappear (change to jpg-logo), and there's no other way to get them back then by stripping all the metadata (I used ImageOptim).
The weird thing is, it only affects jpgs that are rendered straight from Capture One Pro 8. Pics in .jpg that are rendered by Photoshop CC don't go corrupt.

I am having problems opening images renerated in lightroom5 into cs6. Cs6 bridge does not see the lightroom libarary. If I open lightroom and right clik the image, edit in cs6, 6 opens but the picture doesnot follow. What is going on? Give me a hand.

What edition of LR 5? What edition of ACR does PSCS 6 contain. If they are not parallel (same edition number x in [5 or 8].x ), is LR making a tiff or psd rendition of the image?

My Macbook is not finding my NIkon D70s. I do not see it in the finder and my Adobe Bridge is not recognizing that I have a camera hooked up.

In the past I have downloaded pictures from my Nikon D70s. This time it is not showing up in the finder and Adobe Bridge does not see it as a device. I have the camera hooked up and I have it turned on like I would normally do when dwonloading pictures. I think the last time I had it connected to the computer I may have turned it off before ejecting it properly. Wondering if that has anything to do with my problem and if so how can I fix it now?

Not Able to see Workflow Template in 4.6c

Hello Experts,
I am working on 4.6C version. I have a strange problem, when i use the transaction SWDD, i am not able to insert the workflow template say WFXXXXX but in the pop up if i press WF Definition then i am able to see the template.If i directly press enter(Insert) in the pop up screen then it is saying Workflow Template doesn't exist.
Can any one of you please help me in this. One more doubt, is it possible to Retrieve WF Template if it is deleted by mistake in 4.6C??.

Hi Jagan,
The workflow template is by naming convension WSxxxxxxxx. Please try using this and check if you find the template.
Also you can trace the workflow template in t-code PFTC. Select WS Workflow Template and give your workflow template ID. It would give you the details of your workflow.

Bridge CS4 Does Not See External Drive

Very suddenly, Bridge is not seeing the external USB connected driver I use to store recent photos. I read a similar message here and the writer was told to add the drive to favorites. That appeared to work for him, but I could not do that since the folder doesn't appear under Computer in the favorites section either. The drive appears in Windows Explorer. I am using Vista 32. Any suggestions?

Did you power up or connect the external drive after Bridge had been started? I've observed that Bridge only includes drives that were attached and active when Bridge was launched; it does not add a drive to its folders list if that drive is started after Bridge is active. With your external drive on (and appearing in explorer) try exiting and relauching Bridge.
