Bridge takes longer than 10 seconds loading scripts warning message CS5

So I keep getting this message on my laptop.
I've not edited or even hardly used Bridge, but everytime I boot up I get this message.
I don't really want to disable the scripts. They are the default scripts.
If I just say OK to the message does anything happen? does Bridge load the scripts or does it actually give up after 10 seconds?
Is there a way to increase this 10 second rule to, something more reasonable, say 30 seconds?
Sounds like an odd error check to me.
Using CS5, design premium, Win 7 64 bit

This is true and I don't use it often.
After I had the idea to delay the startup of Bridge I went and found Soluto.
It manages your startup programs helping you identify which ones are useless and which ones you can save boot time be delaying.
I played with it a bit today and decreased my laptop's total boot time to under 2 minutes vs over 4 minutes.
I've not had Bridge state the error and I've rebooted 5 or so times.
I put Bridge on delay and it seems to be working well this way.
So that seems to be the solution.
Don't load Bridge at startup unless you can load it on a delay.

Apps take longer than 15 seconds to get deleted

I got my iPhone 4s last September amd since then I've updated the firmware twice hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't so please tell me what else i can do:
When i hold an app to delete it, it does start to wriggle immediatly but when i press the delete button it takes more than 15 seconds for the are you sure message to pop up. I don't normally delete apps so i keep forgetting that that bug is there but when i do delete apps its when i urgently need space to take a video or something so its really frustrating when it takes me over ten minutes to just delete a couple of apps and yes it doesn't happen for just one delete it happens for each delete. Ever since i upgraded to 5.1.1 the freeze time decreased a bit to 15-30 seconds it used to be longer but i could really use a permenant fix for this. I searched around a bit and didn't see that anyone else had complained of this problem so i dont know what to try and i really need someone to tell me how to fix it. Thanks!

I waited for a longer time and the grey denim screen comes up. By the apple in left upper corner it said I think LSA? Then safari menu bar. Ldap search query takes more than 10 seconds

LDAP query takes more than 10 seconds to execute.
For validating the policy configured, the Acess Manager(Sun Java System Access Manager) contacts the LDAP (Sun Java System Directory Server 6.2) to get the users in a dynamic group. The time out value configured in Access Manager for LDAP searches is 10 seconds.
Issue : The ldap query takes more than 10 seconds to execute at some times .
The query is executing with less than 10 seconds in most of the cases, but it takes more than 10 seconds in some cases. The total number of users available in the ldap is less than 1500.

From the ldap access logs we can see the following entry,some times the query takes more than 10 seconds,

Sorry for replying late. I was out of office for few weeks.
1) Have you already tuned the caches? (entry cache, db cache, filesystem cache?)
We are using db cache and we have not done any turning for cache. The application was working fine and there was no much changes in the number of users .
2) Unfortunately we don't have direct access to the environment and we have contacted the responsible team to verify the server health during the issue .
Regarding the IO operations we can see that, load balancer is pinging the ldap sever every 15 seconds to check the status of ldap servers which yields a new connection on every hit. (on average per minute 8 connections - )
3) We using cn=dsameuser to bind the directory server. Other configuration details for ldap
LDAP Connection Pool Minimum Size: 1
LDAP Connection Pool Maximum Size:10
Maximum Results Returned from Search: 1700
Search Timeout: 10
Is the Search Timeout value configured is proper ? ( We have less than 1500 user in the ldap server).
Also is there any impact if the value Maximum Results Returned from Search = set to 1700. ( The Sun document for AM says that the ideal value for this is 1000 and if its higher than this it will impact performance.
The application was running without time out issue for last 2 years and there was no much increase in the number of users in the system. ( at the max 200 users added to the system in last 2 years.)

SSRS report is consuming much more time to fetch data from DB even direct run SP takes less than a second

we are using SQL SERVER 2008R2 X64 RTM version.
One of the SSRS report designed by developer is consuming much more time( 5 to 6 minutes ) to fetch data from DB. Even direct run of Stored Procedure (Called in report )takes less than a second to display the result set.

Based on my understanding, you spend a little time retrieving data with a stored procedure from database in dataset designer. However, it takes long time to run the report to display the data, right?
In Reporting Services, the total time to generate a report include TimeDataRetreval, TimeProcessing and TimeRendering. In your scenario, since you mentioned retrieving data costs a little time, you should check the table
Executionlog3 in the ReportServer database to find which section costs most of time, TimeProcessing or TimeRendering. Then you can refer to this article to optimize your report:

Besides, if parameters exist in the report, you should declare variables inside of the stored procedure and assign the incoming parameters to the variables. For more information, please refer to the similar thread:

I can't make a transition longer than 1 second

I have a simple project in FCP X 10.0.6, with a fade-to-black transition at the end of a clip (followed by black generator). I now want to lengthen that fade-to-black, but I can't. It's one second long, and I can make it shorter, but I can't lengthen it, no matter which way I try to do it. Any ideas? Thanks!

Okay, so why can't I make that fade to black longer than one second? I don't mean that I want black to last longer than one second. I mean I want the fade to take more time. It lets me make it shorter, but not longer.

Locking entities takes longer than consolidation

Why would locking/unlocking our entity tree take longer than a consolidation?

There really isn't anything you can do about it from an application perspective. Make sure when you lock that no other processes are taking place so you're not competing for CPU and RAM with a currently running data load or consolidation. Make sure you have good hardware both on the HFM app server and the database server (I'll avoid a rant here about poorly configured virtual environments...). From a process perspective, try to design a process where users responsible for the base entities lock their own entities so you're never exposed to locking all of them yourself.
Some customers are very happy to use third party utilities such as Amosca's EPM Maestro to automate this, among other tasks. It won't speed up the actual lock, but it will make it easier for you to get the work done.

What problem are you having that should be easy just create the layer to make frames with. Create a frame animation in the timeline panel. Create the frames and set their display time. Save an animated gif for the web ie "Save For Web"
Prior to CS6 Photoshop only had a Animation Palette in CS Adobe replaced the palette with the Timeline Palette that can do Frame animations and Video. You can render a fame animation as a video but video does not support transparency like and animated Gif.

I'd like to have the lock screen stay active for longer than 5 seconds. Too many times I've not seen a notification come through. I'd like to have it stay on for at least 5 minutes for shutting down. I'm suprised a "lock screen delay" option isn't a general setting available to unjailbreaked phones.

with "normal" are you comparing it to other MacBooks? or to your model in the past?
installing a SSD would increase the boot up time a lot if you don't have one already...
also check what apps you have set to automatically open on startup because some/a lot will slow the startup down

Wow. Sounds like a nice machine Steve. How long does a 2hr mpg take to import?
I just tested it out, and for me it takes about 5 min. ...which, in my opinion, is still too long, and should take no longer than it does to import something into PPro.
I understand your frustration there.
I think I mentioned before that Encore uses mp2 DVD files best. If you import things as mp2 or the DVD m2v file format, there is virtually no import time, and you do not have to transcode everything.
That said, unless there are things going on under the hood that I don't know/understand, I still agree that importing video files to timelines in Encore should take no longer than importing into Premiere. We don't need Encore to author or transcode until we're ready to export.

Why does the first Firefox browser takes more than ten seconds to open?

Once my laptop is logged into, Firefox's initial browser takes more than 10 seconds to open. The subsequent windows take less than two seconds. Much more complex programmes like photoshop open in next to no time. Is Firefox a 'heavy' programme to start?

Are you saying that you attach a microphone to your computer and run the Premiere Elements 11 narration feature and can get no more than a 30 second narration .wav file from the feature?

Can't create projects with loops longer than 1 second

This is weird - In garage band, if I try to drag and drop one of Apple's pre-made loops into a new project and that loop is any longer than one second I will get the following error message:
Result Code = -5000
File = GarageBand-Temp-21B25E84.tmp
(the temp file name, of course, changes each time)
I have used GarageBand for years with no problem. I have upgraded to Lion a couple months ago. However, I have also upgraded GarageBand. Currently running version 6.0.4 (427.84).
Very frustrating. Anybody have any ideas how to resolve?

Finally called Apple and got it figured out
1. Went to a new user and tried creating a GarageBand song there. That worked so isolated that it was some kind of problem with the user account
2. Went back to user library and looked at Preferences again. Threw out all of the following (which I had done previously)
com.apple.garageband.cs
com.apple.garageband.LSSharedFileList.plist
com.apple.garageband.LSSharedFileList.plist.lockfile
com.apple.garageband.plist
com.apple.garageband.plist.lockfile
Also threw out (which I had not done previously)
com.apple.iApps.plist
com.apple.iApps.plist.lockfile
In the process found a bunch of other files that Apple thinks were created in error during upgrade. All started with com.apple.iApps.plist.xxxxxxx (X's represent random alpha numeric sequences). Threw those all out
3. Also, in user library, went to Caches and threw away com.apple.garageband.
4. Restarted computer
Problem solved.
