Bridge/templates not working. should i reinstall ?

so ya .. when i click the command to open existing templates, or the view from bridge, nothing happens. . . was wondering if i did anything wrong. or if i should reinstall.
btw i am on cs4 , imac 3.06 GHz intel core 2 duo, 2gb ram. NOT snow leopard

Bridge should be installed by each and any program that is able to use it, which, by and large includes not only Photoshop and Illustrator, but also Encore, AE, Premiere and Soundbooth. So the program not being there probably means something went wrong with your install. In that case I'm afraid only a re-install can fix things, but that may mean to get rid of each and everything Adobe, including older program versions and tools like Acrobat, Adobe AIR, Adobe Media Player.... Use the uninstallers in Library:Application Support:Adobe:Installers:Uninstall to remove the apps cleanly (don't forget to manage activations!), then use the CS3 and CS4 Clean Scripts, respectively, depending on what apps already may be on your system. After that re-install. If the AE triel is the only Adobe profgram on your system, skip the uninstall, use the clean script right away. When reinstalling, it may be smart to use a Custom install and only choose the components you really need and want to try out. Adobe AIR/ Acrobat.com has been known to get in the way sometimes...

    Here's how a similar problem was resolved between PS and BR.
    The issue was confirmed by ChunXiaYang at Adobe staff and solution put in the forum discussion on June 19 (no. 13). Here's a copy:
    I have confirmed that this is a known issue before release. And the workaround is to uninstall and reinstall PS 2014. Then Bridge can be launched by selecting 'Browse in Bridge' in PS2014.

    I did this with a fresh install of the entire CC package. As soon as the CC packages updated, CC Bridge broke. Unistalled CC PS, reinstalled again, CC Bridge works, but CC PS updates itself again, and breaks CC Bridge.
    You know... The whole move to CC has been a massive cluster... I've struggled with the CC packages for my entire subscription year, and now I'm 1.5 month away from needing to throw down another $720 for no reason what-so-ever, just so we can Beta test your really screwed up subscription services.

    I was under the impression that photoshop cc would not even install on windows vista.
    What version of camera raw do you have?
    In photoshop under Help>About Plugin does it list Camera Raw and if so which version is it?
    (click on the words Camera Raw to see the version)
    Camera raw doesn't work if it's a camera raw file or some other file type such as jpeg or tif?
    What camera are the camera raw files from?
    Officially camera raw 8.3 is the latest version of camera raw that will work on windows vista.

    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

  • Bridge Raw not working, cannot see Raw image in Bridge

    The RAW setting in Bridge is not working. When I open Bridge I can see only icons, no images. The RAW tool icon is grey, not active. I am going on a trip Tomorrow and I need Bridge to be working. It was working earlier.

    My Photoshop and bridge is CS4, purchased in 2008, and the canon 5D Mark
    11, purchased earlier. I have CR2. The camera and software worked
    together fine for all those years.
    Now, however, when I click Bridge to open a file containing several
    images, I do not get thumbnail images, just a circle with CR 2 and the
    file name, no image.
    If I double click one of the circles, the image will open in camera Raw,
    and I can edit, and open photoshop and edit again. If I then save a Jpeg
    version, I will be able to open it and see the image in Bridge.
    The problem is that now if I shoot 100 pictures, I can open Bridge but
    there are no thumbnail images, only CR2 and file name.
    I hope this can clarify the problem. Camera and software have not been
    changed.

    I never notied that icon before, and I've been using Bridge for 7 years.
    Usually, when you have no image previews for raw files, this means that your Camera Raw plug-in is older than your camera. People always come across this problem when they use a new camera with older software.
    To be sure, we need to know which camera you are using, and which version of Camera Raw. To save typing this out for the three-thousandth time, please follow this page which I wrote earlier:

    Please note - Text elements doesnot have any conditions present in the condition tabstrip.

    After the upgrade, you will have to do the security upgrade.
    Please follow these steps.
    1. Go To SU25
    2. Run step 2A to 2D.
    3. In step 2C, you shall get the list of all the affected roles.
    Click on first role. It will take you to authorizations of that role. Click on the "New" tab there to find the new objects added to the role after the upgrade.
    Note: You can open the same role in the unupgraded system to check.
    4. Provide the access to the required authorization objects.
    5. Disable the unwanted authorization objects.
    6. Generate the profile.
    7. Follow the same steps for all the affected roles listed.
    Please note that you will have a list of new objects added.You need to maintain them inorder to avoid any access issues.
    8. After step 2C, complete 2D.

    The Problem was, that Adobe Bridge (CS2 on Windows XP) suddenly stopped the work. After several days of trying to get this program to run again, i deinstalled and installed Photoshop with all it´s programms.
    But Bridge still is not working anymore. I can visit some folders once or twice, but after 2 tries, it stopps and give no reaction.
    What is wrong with Photoshop ?

    You need to reset Bridge preferences by holding
    Ctrl+Alt+Shift while starting the program from the icon. You should get a dialog offering three choices select all of them.
    This does not happen with a re-install of the program.
    If you don't get the dialog box, keep trying till you do.

  • Flash Player will not work even upon reinstalling it

    Hello!
    I am having quite the time trying to get Adobe Flash Player
    to work! Seemingly "out of nowhere", none of the youtube videos of
    my nephew were visible on the site any longer, when they had
    previously been working just fine. When I went to the page, using
    IE7, there was a blank spot where the video should be. However, at
    that time, I *was* able to view the video using FireFox. I thought
    this was unusual that it would work in Firefox but no longer be
    working in IE7.
    I checked to see if javascript was turned on in both browsers
    -- it was. I have javascript enabled in Firefox2 (tools/ options/
    content/ enable javascript; under advanced settings "disable or
    replace context menus" is checked, although I don't know if this
    applies), and in IE7 (tools/ options/ security/ custom Level/
    scripting/ active scripting/ enable).
    Since this didn't seem to be the problem, the only thing I
    could think of doing was to uninstall Flash Player. In my Add or
    Remove Programs, I saw Adobe Flash Player ActiveX and Adobe Flash
    Player Plug-In. I went to Adobe's site, and found a document
    entitled "How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and
    ActiveX control", which said you need to use an Adobe program for
    the uninstall, which I did. I then rebooted the computer. Next I
    installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player ActiveX.
    When I viewed the youtube videos, they now showed just fine
    in both IE7 and Firefox.
    I closed down the computer and went to bed happy it was
    fixed.
    The next morning, upon startup, I was dismayed to find that
    the problem had started all over again, although now the video was
    no longer viewable in *either* IE7 or Firefox.
    In Firefox, I see the message "Hello, you either have
    JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player.
    Get the latest Flash player." In IE7, I see no message; just a
    blank spot.
    Again I double-checked that javascript was turned on in both.
    I double-checked my Add or Remove Programs, and I can see the
    Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX was installed. (And I knew it to be
    working before I shut the computer down.)
    I feel like I am going bananas.
    Does anyone know what could be going on? Might you have any
    insight as to why it would first stop working in one browser, work
    in both browsers upon reinstalling it but before turning off the
    computer, and then not work in either browser upon starting up the
    computer again?

    And this is what I used to do the uninstall, so I could re-install from the webpage:

    I placed this .exe file in this install directory . . .
    {C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash}
    . . . along with a ReadMe file that contained this notation:
    <uninstall_flash_player.exe> was obtained manually from:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/
    ...and not installed in this directory as part of the Flashplayer install.
    This was obtained as part of an attempt to correct Flashplayer suddenly not working in MSIE.
    Correcting this problem involved unistalling and re-installing Flash, but uninstalling via the normal Pgm.Accs+Dflts facility did not seem to work correctly; i.e., the subsequent re-intall failed to correct the problem: even though the download webpage indicated a successful install, the Flash animation did not appear. However, using the above .exe file does allow a truly successful subsequent re-install.

    Hi - I really hope somebody can help out here, after hours of trial & error, I have finally given up
    I need to connect my Airport Extreme Base Station to my existing network. I have a linksys router (192.168.15.1) connected to my modem and this linksys router acts as DHCP server too.
    I suppose I have to use "bridge mode" for that to work. But should the linksys be connected to the AEBS using the AEBS's WAN or LAN port?
    If I use "bridge mode", then wired computers to the AEBS works fine - getting an IP from the linksys etc. BUT, the wireless clients will have a self-assigned IP and not get through to the internet. It's like the AEBS will not allow wireless clients to "get through" unless AEBS itself is handing out IP addresses.
    Page 36 of this manual ( http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/DesigningAirPort_Networks10.5-Windows.pdf ) shows the setup I want. But in the picture, it says "Ethernet WAN port" but the text says: "The Apple wireless device (in this example, a Time Capsule) uses your Ethernet network to communicate with the Internet through the Ethernet LAN port ( <--> )." I don't know which one to use, WAN or LAN - they show WAN but say LAN?
    When I set it up as "share an IP address", the AEBS status tells me "double nat" and to change from "shared IP" to "bridge mode". I do that, and everything seems fine - for the wired clients. Now the wireless clients cannot connect, Airport on the MacBook Pro just say "Connection failed" and the MacBook says "Invalid password" (translated from danish), even though I set the Airport Utlity to save the password in keyring, so it should be correct... If I disable wireless encryption, the wireless clients will connect but get a self-assigned IP, and therefor not work (cannot get online)...
    It seems the only way I can get wireless to work, is if I set AEBS up as DHCP, but then it won't be on the "same network" as the linksys (192.168.15.1), but rather on 10.0.x.x as I select. If I select 192.168.x.x within AEBS, I'm also getting some error messages, conflict/subnet thing.
    Anyway - I really hope somebody knows how to get wireless clients to get an IP address from existing ethernet when connected to the AEBS.

    I've given up and had to go back to running "Double NAT" which also reports as a "problem" within the AEBS, but I just "ignore" it so the light will always be green.
    It still ***** though, as "Double NAT" is also a reason for "Back to my Mac" not working properly, but how the ** am I supposed to avoid Double NAT when the wireless will not work in bridged mode?!

    Are you sure you are running 10.8.2 or is it 10.8.5. There was an issue with 10.8.5 and the recent supplemental update should fix that camera problem.
    If it is 10.8.2, I'm not sure what is wrong. Might try an SMC or NVRAM reset.

  • Templates Not Working - Layouts Missing

    I have several Templates with Layouts.  Almost all of the templates work well when a new meeting is created from them. However, one of the templates seems to fail when a new meeting is created from it. I get a blank layout with a single Notes pod, with the following text: 
    The template you are looking at is the one we use if the default template feature is not working.
    That strange thing is that when it first started happening, it was intermittent. Sometimes it would work and other times it wouldn't.  Then we had one of the meeting rooms that had been created from the template look fine initially, but then when I went back to it later, the templates had disappeared and the one Notes pod with the text above was showing.
    I would really not like to have to recreate the meeting layouts! Any suggestions for how to get this working?
    Please help me!!!
    And please - don't tell me to go to support.  I have called and called, emailed, updated my ticket and I get NO response.  It has been over 6 weeks since this problem started and I put in my first support ticket January 8th!!  It is now February 26th and I still have no resolution.

    Take one of the working rooms that was created from template in question and move it into a Template folder (Shared Templates or My Templates). Then create a new Template room from the room you just moved into the Templates folder. Place the new Template room in the appropriate Template folder and move the meeting back to its desired location.
    You may need to go clean up the new Template room, but it should then be able to be used for creating future meetings.
