No, PSE 8 was the last mac version to include bridge. From 9 on, it's organizer, just like in windows.

  • Bridge and Elements 11

Is it possible to buy the last version of bridge having Elements 11? I have an old version that was included in Elements 8.
In Elements 11 is included Organiser tha is very unfrendly and complicate.
Bridge was fantastic to browse, organise and navigating.
The possibility to buy Bridge as an "App" to be added to Elements would be Super!
    Best regards
    Max

I can't buy CS& so any possible compromise?
The option Curt provided would be nice but I'm not sure this would work. However, you can try it yourself because you seem to have both Elements 8 and 11.
Under Bridge preferences is a tab called File Type Associations where you can set the file types to open in using Bridge. If it works Elements 11 should be in the list to choose from.
Photoshop CC is like CS& or not. It's not so clear for me!
Like Elements has a new number after each upgrade so does Photoshop. ONly Adobe chose to put all applications under a collective name Creative Suite or CS. The latest version of this was CS6 and inhere is Photoshop version 13 and Bridge version 5. But as said aka CS6.
Now Adobe changed its policy and now distributes all applications through the Creative Cloud (aka CC).
Inhere is PS version 14 and Bridge version 6 amongst many other applications with each their own version number. I don't know if there will be a CC2 in the future but we will find out eventually..

I'm very familiar with Adobe Bridge from an earlier version of Elements. How do I use Elements 12 to get this same functionality?

  • How to upload a web photo gallery made in Bridge or Elements

Hi, I am a beginner with Dreamweaver, and I am only trying to
set up a simple page. The index page works fine, and also to have
other pages linked to the index page. But I have made a web photo

them into Dreamweaver!!! Can anyone please, please help me?! How do
I actually insert the web photo gallery into one of my

Hi, I too, am a beginner and I'm trying to create a simple

    question.

  • Adobe Bridge and Elements 10

Way back with Elements 4 I also received a copy of Bridge. Having lost my hard drive, and having loaded Elements 4 as a download, I lost Bridge. Now with Elements 10, I find no copy of Bridge. I also can't find it as a download. Is it only available now with the pricier Adobe products?

How do I get RAW or TIFF files imported from my Panasonic Lumix into a folder in Lion using PE10?
You can always use drag and drop to get the files on your computer. Either use a card reader (preferred) or connect the camera to your computer and in finder navigate to the files and drag them to a new folder on your mac, they will start automatically copying.
I am really bummed about this $80 upgrade from PE4 to PE10. The Aperture 3 Trial allowed me to import as BOTH TIFF and JPG and worked well but I didn't want the learning curve to edit so I didn't buy that one. Guess I should have bought that instead of the PE 10 upgrade which turned out to be even more complex.
First of all you are in the Bridge Forum and might be better of in the Photoshop Elements forum elsewhere on the Adobe user forum site.
And to be honest, if you only shoot raw or tiff to get them converted without editing you will have better results in shooting jpeg directly. Using Raw gives you great abilities to get the most out of your files but usually that is not happening with a simple converting without knowing how to edit the raw files.
Shooting in jpeg let the camera do this for you and mostly in a better way then converting a raw file without editing it before converting to tiff or jpeg. On the other hand, the learning curve of Adobe Camera Raw is not that steep and once a bit familiar with ACR gives you great results you never seen before

  • CS5 Bridge and Elements

    Hello,
I happen to have Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Plus and Adobe CS5 installed on my desktop. Both programs work fine when using one or the other. My problem is if  I have CS5 Bridge open and highlight a photo that I want to open (right click open or top file menu)the photo opens in Elements 8 Edit.I would think it should open Photoshop 5,but can't seem to find where to change it from.I keep Elements installed because its handleing the photo backups right now.Any suggestions?I'm missing something I'm sure.Thanks.

My problem is if  I have CS5 Bridge open and highlight a photo that I want to open (right click open or top file menu)the photo opens in Elements 8 Edit.
Go to Bridge edit/preferences/file type associations and change the defalult program for extenstion to CS5.
And if you have keywords in Elements they can be read in Bridge, you just have to find the option to write files to metadata.

  • Bridge and  Elements / Mac Version Compatability

On a Mac I have Bridge which came with a CS3 suite, and on my pc I have Elements 8
If I were to get Bridge on the pc:
Would it work/imoprt/replace PSE 8 Organizer?
Could I move the inages and catalogs from my Mac to the PC and import/integrate those?
    Thanks!

bridge does not use catologs as elements does.
elements for me is a million times quicker at organising and finding pictures.
but if that catalog developes an error then it can be a pain to fix.
Bridge, updates its image database evertime its run, which is why its so so so slow....
yes it has a thumbnail database of the images but not an overal 'catalog' file.
lightroom works similar to elements and again is much better than bridge, but so long as your database in lightroom functions.
thats kind of why i personally use bridge, though i hate it as its basically so full of bugs and as said slow.
but you can drag and drop new folders without too much of a problem.
    in answer to your question.
i dont think you can just load bridge.
either way it will not effect your elements catalog, there treated as two seperate programs.
as said on your mac using bridge there is no catalog
so just copy your image directorys other to your PC.
and the next time you run elements it will find the images.
you will lose keyword data, though i think you can export keywords and then import them into elements.

  • How do I use CS6 Bridge Like Elements Organizer?

I like Elements Oganizer and I was wondering how I can do this with Bridge. Not sure if this is the right place. So I hope some will help me.
    Thanks,
    Joe.

Also, bear in mind that few users of the full version of Photoshop are familiar with Photoshop Elements or Organizer, so many of us won't even know exactly what you mean.
I have to get back on this, Just recently bought Elements and Premiere for Mac (actually more for fun and possible use for a minor workshop, not for my professional workflow) and only had a short glance at it.
Just glanced at it again (still briefly) but there is a difference that you can't use in Bridge.  Organizer has some shortcuts to fix images and creates a new version of the original.
This is not possible in Bridge. Also the Output Module in Bridge has a different approach to the create section in Organizer.
For me Bridge is the right tool and I'm sure "tweetybird" will benefit also after having learned a bit.
Especially the menu tools/Photoshop and the options in there will give better results (and far more control) to 'fix' ( I rather speak of optimize ) files to your satisfaction
But If you still need options from the create section that you will not have in the Output Module there is no objection to use Organizer for this by pointing it to the folder with finished files.
Its just a matter of the right tool for the right job

  • Stichwörter in Bridge in Elements 6 / MAC

Wer weiss, wie ich Stichwörter in Bridge/MAC zuordne? Bis Version 5 (Windows) ging dies durch Drag&Drop, was hier nicht zu funktionieren scheint.

    > Yes, if you don't have the uninstaller for the trial version (you didn't save the download) or if it doesn't work, just trash the program. It's preferable to use the uninstaller since Adobe installers strew stuff all over the hard drive rather than following the mac developer guidelines for putting everything into a neat package, but cleanscript will nuke all the adobe stuff it can find, so hopefully it will get the trouble-causing bits.
    >
    > You would have had exactly the same problem with the trial version of PS and the retail version, on both platforms, incidentally. That's why Adobe wrote the cleanscript.

Rather than try to root through all those thousands of files to figure out where exactly the conflict lies, it's easiest to create a new virgin user folder for the install, but you can wait to see if you have trouble running from your existing account if you want.
Thank you Barbara for your help. I finally got rid of the trial version
and installed the purchased software after running the cleanscript. (I
did not need to create an additional user).

  • Adobe bridge or iphoto with photoshop elements

Hi I am a new Mac user - have come from windows then linux and finally hoping to be less frustrated on a Mac!!
I am just learning about all of the features on iphoto, adobe bridge and elements (which i have used before). I need the editing capacity of elements but am unsure of which photo database / organisational system would be best for me to work with it.
I am not a photographer but have lots of photos and I do a lot of website editing.
Currently I have several versions of an original photo, eg cropped and rescaled to particular dimensions for a particular site and in other dimensions for another site - some sites have 100kb limits, some pictures need to be specific sizes - eg 555 x 135 pixels but don't have such specific size limitations. i currently organise these by putting crop or web or header file name extensions to the original file and save as.
I re-use the files a lot so need to keep the saved versions - otherwise I have to re-edit them each time.
In iphoto it seems that I need to make duplicates of the original to be able to have several versions all side by side to choose from but this will triple or quadruple the hard disk space when i just need to save the versions (much smaller in size) as different files.
Otherwise I think I need to save it to the desktop and then import it which is time consuming and messy.
In bridge it seems more flexible for this particular feature but it doesn't seem to have all the features that iphoto has for other projects like making books, calenders, the face recognition etc.
I know I need to choose between the two and stick with one, but am unsure which would be best.
Is there a way to save various versions of an original in iphoto easily after it is edited in photoshop and to have some system of naming the files so I can see which version it is as it not always easy to see quality differences in a thumbnail?
Thank you very much for your advice.

iPhoto is a Mom and Pop photo organiser and you’re usage is a bit beyond that.
In iphoto it seems that I need to make duplicates of the original to be able to have several versions all side by side to choose from but this will triple or quadruple the hard disk space when i just need to save the versions (much smaller in size) as different files.
Yes you will. Aperture has the ability to have different versions from one Master.
Otherwise I think I need to save it to the desktop and then import it which is time consuming and messy.
Hard to see what that would save really.

No, you can’t have different versions from one Master (see above) but if you duplicate a file you can give the dupe a title.

  • Lightroom versus PhotoShop Elements Organizer and Bridge

This is directed to the Adobe Developer Team
I hope someone of the Developer team is reading this!!
For my understanding the three products out of one house (PhotoShop Elements Organizer, Bridge and Lightroom) doing about the same, should ...
work the same (same idea, same behaviour, organizing by path/subfolders instead of cataloges etc.)
maintain the same database and files (LR should recognize the collections from BR and Vice Versa, use the same cache files etc.) and should
be compatible to each other (e.g. Tags, Collections etc)
    Actually I suggest ADOBE
to eliminate Organizer and integrate the good functions into BRIDGE (e.g. albums, upload to flickr, webpage generation etc)
give BRIDGE as the free of charge picture organizer to PS Elements and to PS CS
change LIGHTROOM into an payable upgrade of BRIDGE with enhanced functionality of the free of charge BRIDGE, (which can work as a stand-alone software as it does today
better integration of PSE, PS CS into Bridge/Lightroom (e.g. Panaorama function opens only PS CS but the version of PSE works much better, so I want to choose in the menu of Bridge/Lightroom)
I am really struggling with the three of them.
Beside that I suggest to get rid of the Catalog idea of Lightroom with it's import/export and synchronization needs and instead use or at least integrate the idea of BRIDGE to get pictures structured and organized by path and subfolders, as this is anyhow how the way pictures are stored already for most of us... I asume. I doubt that anybody just throw all files into one big subdirectory and get the organized into cataloges. But please keep collections as they are helpful to quickly collect some pictures to commonly work on them. by drag & drop. The Catalogues of LR drives me crazy but LR have a lot of nice functions (e.g. Webupload interfaces to flickr and others, nice noice reduction, nice albums and webpage functions, etc.)
    Thanks
Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year
    Georg
PS: Please all of you comment your experience and opinion on this matter ... I am interested what you think about it.

    Hi George,
Whereas Bridge and Photoshop Elements (and most non-LR users) base their organisation on the file / folder structure, Lightroom uses files / folders simply for storage - the catalog is used for organisation. This 'catalog based approach' provides far more flexibility, both in organisation, and in recording a complete, fully-reversible record of all edits made to each photograph.
    To suggest that Adobe "get rid of the Catalog idea of Lightroom" and "get pictures structured and organized by path and subfolders" would remove almost ALL advantages Lightroom has over Bridge & PS Elements combined. To fully appreciate Lightroom, you need to appreciate that files and folders are not the only way to organise photos. Why not watch a few of the Adobe Lightroom Tutorial videos? This link below takes you to a video explaining about the Catalog;
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/george-jardine-on-lightroom/the-lightroom-catalog/
    However, if you really want Adobe to hear your views, why not raise a Feature request with them, at this link below;
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I'm sure if you call your feature request 'Remove Catalog from Lightroom, and organise by Folders instead', it'll get noticed, as will any forum posts of the same name...
    Cheers,
    Alan

  • Elements vs. lightroom vs bridge

I would like to know the purposes of elements vs. lightroom vs bridge. I am currently using bridge and elements (CS3) and plan on upgrading to CC2014 soon.
All of my tagging etc was done in Elements, but don't seem to be visible in bridge... If I understand correctly, Photoshop CC2014 includes bridge, abd the Photographer Package includes Photoshop and Lightroom.
    My questions are:
    1) Will my tags that are in my elements import into Lightroom?
    2) What is the purposes of Lightroom vs. Bridge?
    Any clarification would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance!

It depends on what you want to do. Bridge is a browser, not an image management system, which allows keywording and raw processing. Lightroom is a fancier image management system than the organizer, with very good raw processing built in, and yes, you can set PSE as your external editor from LR.
I'd just give bridge and LR a try and see which your prefer. Personally, I prefer to retain control of my photos myself, so I like bridge, but there are many people who infinitely prefer LR. It's all a question of how you like to work.

  • Keyword filtering Bridge 2.1

I migrated from Elements to Bridge and found a difference in the way Bridge filters keywords compared to Elements. Example: I have 3 images with assigned keywords: image1 (keyword1), image2 (keyword2), image3 (keyword1, keyword2).
If I check keyword1 I get image1 and image3 in Bridge and Elements. However if I also would check keyword2 (in addition to keyword1) Elements would only display image3 whereas Bridge would display image1, image2, image3.
Is there any way in Bridge to mimic Elements behavior?
    Thanks

The filter will match across categories (for example jpeg, portrait and 5 stars will return only files that meet all of the criteria), but selecting multiples in a single category will display any file that meets one or more of the selected criteria. (for example several keywords)
This, as stated earlier, is not that convenient if you want to match on keywords.
A point to Tom's statement about having to force Elements to write metadata. I used Elements 5 and to my knowledge never requested a write to metadata, yet the keywords were all present in the metadata when I called these into Bridge. It is possible that there was some preference check box that said to do that, but I never consciously forced that or set that.

  • Elements four, Raw file

I currently have Elements 4 on my mac laptop, I am having a problem loading raw photos from desktop to adobe bridge or elements 4. I get a message that reads "Could not complete your request because photoshop does not recognize this type of file", does anyone know how I can get bridge to recognize the raw files?

It's possible that your camera isn't supported by the version of ACR you currently have.  Check here to find out the version of ACR you need for your copy of Elements.
