Bridge Uninstall?

I've read a lot about Bridge not uninstalling along with PS CS3 even though it is part of CS3 and not a stand alone program. I just upgraded to CS4 and can't afford the space keeping cs3 around, and like everyone lese, after uninstalling CS3, Bridge is still there but no longer works. I can't even get the cleaning script to work either.
I just can't figure out why such an expensive, and the standard in image manipulation around the world, can't uninstall the entire program instead of leaving bridge behind with no other uninstall options. Thi would be unexceptable with any other computer program. Can someone shed some light on this for me. Please don't suggest I leave it on my computer and buy a bigger HD. I can't afford it, but need the space on my old one. Thanks for any help.

Did not mean to question your computer skills, just that we see all kinds of errors, and best to start with clear understanding.
You best bet would be to use the CS3cleanscripts program.  Read the instructons carefully.  Have not used it but understand there are different levels of "scrubbing".  Should take out any traces of the CS3 program that have been left behind.
Be sure that Bridge is not running in background.  Check processes for bridge.exe in the Task Manager.  Sometimes these autoload programs can foul up the best of intentions.

  • LR "Edit in..." command won't sync with PS 2014

After upgrading to LR 5.5 and PS 2014, LR no longer is able to send a file to PS via the "Edit in..." command.
LR does start PS when I choose "Edit in..." but the photo doesn't open. Instead, I wait a good minute, then LR displays the first error message listed below. Then, after I click OK to that message, either a) the picture actually does open in PS or b) the second error message below pops up.
    I have tried the following:
    Uninstalled Photoshop CC (previous version)
    Uninstalled LR 5.4
    Uninstalled Bridge
Uninstalled the 2014/5.5 versions of PS/LR.
    Reinstalled everything
    Did #4 and 5 twice.
Nothing made any difference, the behavior is always the same.
I'm running Windows 7/64, 12gb RAM, plenty of disk space. OS is up to date with all patches and fixes.
Any help is much appreciated, this problem has put a serious cramp in my workflow!

ejbSFO, You can get the previous versions of CC using the creative cloud app itself.
Click on the below link to know how to do so. I replied on a similar forum post.
Re: I can't find where to download older versions of apps. I have only CC apps now but I need After Effects CS6.
Also, there is no specific order to install PS CC & CC 2014 but its always good to install the previous version first, followed by the latest one.
So, try to install PS CC & PS CC 2014 and that should help.
We are aware of this issue and are already working on a fix for the same.
JimmysPhoto, glad to hear that your issue got fixed by running the application with admin rights. Rather its always recommended to have full read/write permissions on both Lr & PS before running the apps. Thanks for sharing your resolution.
Windows users can try the same by : Right click on the .exe file > Select Run as Administrator.
Can also try to Enable the hidden admin account | Windows 8, 7 - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/3040.enable-disable-the-local-h idden-built-in-administrator-account-in-windows-7.aspx
Let me know if that helps.

I have installed Photoshop CS3, but it also installed other programs like Adobe Bridge, Device Central, Stock Photos, Camera Raw etc. I want to ask how can I uninstall them because I am using Photoshop only. And all of this other programs just take a lot of space on my HDD. Please help how to unistall them...!

You are saving maybe 600 MB and Bridge is an integral part of Photoshop as is Camera RAW which is a whopping 23MB.

Hi I have been having a problem with Bridge in CS4 recently. So uninstalled CS4 and Lightroom 4.4 and reinstalled them on my Desktop PC. When I turned on Bridge through CS4, My thumb nail images disappeared and a thumb nail icon with CR2 appeared. Now some of my images have disappeared from Light room 4.4, but I can find them in CS4 and Bridge now shows some thumb nails as images and some as an icon with CR2. I have spent two weeks going through preferences etc. to find how to resolve my problem. Please can you Help? Meany thanks in advance
      Derek Randall

I don't use LR and rarely use the bridge so I can not answers about thumbnails in them,  However thumbnails in windows file explorer and windows dialog for CS2 files will only show if you have installed codec into windows that will produce them. Windows does not do CR2 thumbnails on its own. I use FastPictureViewer Codec package for RAW File and PSD files thunbmail support.

  • How do I uninstall Adobe Bridge CC on one computer so that it can be installed on another computer?

How do I uninstall Adobe Bridge CC on one computer so that it can be installed on a new computer?

You can install CC on two computers and use them both (even different OS if needed)
You can also sign out with your Adobe Creative Cloud application on one computer and log in on another computer, the max of active systems is 2 but it should be possible to have them on multiple systems with signing in and out.

  • How to uninstall Bridge to do a clean install?

How best should I uninstall Bridge (CS2) and all the other Adobe applications that might have anything to do with Bridge so that I can make a completely new clean install?
I have Photoshop CS2 (with ImageReady CS2) and InDesign CS2.
Separately I have Adobe Lightroom 2.3 but that does not use Bridge at all as far as I know. It even uses a different Camera Raw version.
Thanks for the assistance. I am trying to fix a problem where Bridge will not show me any thumbnails except a bunch of white boxes that are not even the correct number of thumbnails for the folder I am trying to display.
I asked a separate question about white thumbnails with no solutions be found.

    Hi John,
Tried all that - no luck in getting it fixed as the other discussion mentions.
Need to get rid of everything Bridge related so that I get a good fresh clean install. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop trying to get this fixed but to no avail, so thinking I need to really wipe out everything to do with CS2.  Photoshop and Bridge worked for several years, then something happened - probably having to do with the reinstalll of Win XP.
    Thanks for your reply.
    VB
I thought that might be the case.
So your best bet as you say is to uninstall normally from the Control Panel and then manually remove all files and folders related to CS2.
Remember this is not just in C:\Program files
    but also in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\9.0
    and possibly C:\Program Files\Common Files.
I would then run a registry cleaner like CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/

The fact that I uninstalled Bridge and reloaded it has me concerned as to what to do next.?

You need to force quit all other (real or fake) instances of the Application Manager.  Instructions differ between Mac or Win.
A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.

  • How to uninstall Media Encoder and Bridge CS6?

I'm using the CC 2014 version of all my Adobe apps, except I still need Encore CS6 because there isn't a newer version.  I uninstalled Premiere CS6, but I still have Bridge and Media Encoder left over in my Applications folder.  Neither of these has an uninstaller, like the other apps do.  Are they required for Encore to function, and if not, what's the best way to remove them?  I wanted to hear from someone at Adobe before I just throw them in the trash.

I doubt that you will hear from an Adobe person, since this is not a very active forum

Hold down the Ctrl key and start Bridge.  You should get a reset window with 3 options.  Choose all 3.

  • Bridge CC - Cannot Open Files following Uninstall of Previous Version

I recently updated to Creative Cloud (Windows 7). Today I unstalled CS6. Following the uninstall, I can no longer open a .psd, .ai or .indd file from Bridge CC. I receive an error from Windows that the CS5 version of Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign cannot be found (see example below). I can open the files directly from the CC application. I can also open .psd files from Mini Bridge.
RAW files (.cr2) open in ACR without problem.
I can open a .psd directly from Windows Explorer into Photoshop; the same with .ai files in Illustrator and .indd files in InDesign.
    I cleared my Bridge cache.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Because it is correctly programmed to follow your specific, express instructions you set as far as file associations.
As far as other applications of any of the suites, well…
Here's my boilerplate text in this regard:
Inconsistency between or among applications in the artificial "suites" should come as no surprise.
The "suite" concept is a fabrication of Adobe marketing and bean-counting types.  The engineering teams are totally independent of each other, they are not only in different buildings but in different cities and states of the American Union, even in different countries.
The fact that they have little if any communication among them is highlighted by requests occasionally made in these forums by top Adobe engineers to let the other teams know when there are problems in one application that impact our workflow in another one.

  • Is there a way to Uninstall ACR 5.5 and reinstall 5.4? Bridge doesn't recognize this version.

Hey there. Running Mac os x 10.5.8 on a MacBook Pro...
I had to reinstall my whole CS4 Master Creative Suite because a couple of the programs went missing.
First step was uninstalling all the other programs and preferences through Adobe unistaller, then reinstalled and did all the updates. (Photoshop is 11.0.1 now).  All updates finished loading successfully except that it was having trouble with the camera raw 5.4 update. It would say it was installed but when I checked the version in photoshop it would say it is the 5.0.0.178 version. So I updated the camera raw to 5.5 (because I use a Nikon D5000).
5.5 plugin now works fine in Photoshop but in Bridge, the camera raw preferences is "greyed out" and I can't read any NEFs.
Don't know where to go from here. The plugins folder in the root Library shows one plugin in the cs4 folder and that is the 5.5.
When I try to install the 5.4 version again, it reads that it can't install because I am running a newer version.
Thanks for your help. Got some NEF editing to do and this is a major obstacle....

Thanks Jeff. The full path is HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plugins/CS4. It was automatically installed.
Also, the programs went missing because my computer froze and when I rebooted, any programs that were running at the time were no where to be seen, in the apps folder, in spotlight, the trash, etc. It's a mystery to me and I was a IT tech for quite a few years until recent. (Perhaps aliens abducted my programs.) That's the best I could figure out. Even my Entourage went missing and I needed to reinstall this and import an archived folder of mail - lost the most recent email...
I bought this computer new a few months ago and have updated to 10.5.8 by the normal "software update" function.
Purging the folders did not work because Bridge still does not recognize that there is a camera raw plugin installed. The "camera raw preferences" still remains "greyed out" when you click on the Adobe Bridge CS4 tab in Bridge.
Also, when I go to the Adobe uninstaller, I'm not able to uncheck mark the box for the camera raw....
Perhaps there is a link to just the 5.4 plugin (standalone?) that I can exchange for the 5.5? The camera raw folder in Application Support/Adobe has all the latest camera preferences including the D5000 which just was updated in ACR. So maybe just making a switch? Or is that too old school?
Oh yes, created another user account, repaired permissions and any disk issues - yet, same problem.
    Thanks again!
    Johnny

  • Reinstall bridge w/o uninstalling PS

    Windows 7, CS 5
Bridge has frozen. Goes into a "building criteria" loop and cannot be exited without ending in Task Manager (shows "not responding"). Even after a restart it returns to the same behavior. Can it be uninstalled/reinstalled independently from CS5? If so, how.

Interestingly, that didn't work from the desktop shortcut, but did when starting from the Programs .exe file. Thanks for stopping me making a hash of it.
