Bridge workspace question

I used to be able to open up bridge, and my favorite saved, customized workspace would open up automatically. Now I have to manually go to window and choose my workspace, which doesn't take a long time, but is a pain to me.
Does anyone know how to make my favorite saved workspace the default workspace adobe bridge opens up to? Thanks!

  • Fix (set in concrete) Bridge Workspace

How do I set a Bridge Workspace so that future alterations don't get saved by default?
    Thanks,
    Drew

If I select that named workspace, I get the changes regardless of whether I saved them.
You have to reset the workspace again using the triangle menu or right mouse click on workspace name itself.
I'm still trying to find out what I prefer but can't figure it out yet. there is a large number of people wanting to have the last use workspace being sticky for that particular workspace. Sometimes this suites me, sometimes not.
But the reset is something I got used to.

  • Hard Drive, Bridge CS4 QUESTION

Yesterday my Seagate 1 TB hard drive (fairly new) was acting strange in relationship to Bridge CS4.  Bridge was having problems reading the files from it and the light on the hard drive was dimming and brightening up in repetitive fashion.  I always back up, but just got back from Africa and have about 4000 images on that drive yet to be backed up, so this scares me.
Strange thing is that when I go to the drive through Windows (XP) the drive acts fine and the images come up fine and they come up fine in PS too.  So this makes me wonder if this is an issue with Bridge.  I have had some Bridge issues in the past and have thought about re installing PS and Bridge.
Question is: do you think the problem is with Bridge as apposed to the hard drive?
    Thank you.

It could be due to the process of indexing the new files.
Is your cache big enough? Have you purged it lately?

  • Exporting Bridge workspace

I want to export a Bridge workspace and then import it into Creative Cloud and share across all the seats I am administrating.  Can someone help?  I can't seem to figure this out.

    Hi Ben,
I don't think there is built in functionality for this currently, so I think the only option would be to manually copy the workspace files between systems.
The file should be saved in the following locations. I'd only transfer it between the same version of Bridge and OS and with Bridge closed.
In Windows, WORKSPACE files are saved to the following directory:
    [user]\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS[#] \Workspaces\
In Mac OS X, they are saved to the following directory:
    [user]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge/Workspaces/
    Win 7 for example
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge #\Workspaces
These are the Creative Cloud apps that support syncing settings currently:

    Hope that helps,

  • Bridge Dual Monitors CS3 Workspace Questions

I can't seem to figure out a few things regarding running dual monitors. Run windows XP, have the latest bridge/cs 3 updates. Sometimes everything works fine, other times it doesn't.
I like having my preview pane on monitor #1, directly in front of me. I also like opening the selected photo in RAW from monitor #1 and having the RAW window come up on monitor #1.
Most often the RAW window will open up on Monitor #2, which I do not want to happen. On Monitor #2, I have my content pane and my metadata & folders showing.
I've reversed 1:2 and 2:2 and can't get it to work right either. Could someone provide some guidance? Been searching options and can't figure it out.
Another topic that is not related to dual montiors. Sometimes my preview tab, will not show the selected photo in it. I usually reset Bridge on start up and it'll be there...but sometimes the photo disappears. The tab will still be there. Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I discovered that with dual monitors if the window is maximized it has no preview image (default workspace), just a green pane. If you use the double headed arrow and pull back the dividing line between thumb/preview pane or preview/metadata pane it revels dozens of "copies" of underneath. The preview will only show up when the thumb window pane is moved quite a ways to the left. It is almost like the real workspace is on the bottom and the others are on top.
The solution I have found is to click RESTORE DOWN (middle window icon) and then everything works correctly, even if I enlarge the window to full monitor. If I maximize it reverts again. Am using Vista and 2 monitors. Can work with this now that I know what to do, but a little puzzling. For anyone not seeing a preview image, or metadata, might be worth while to see if maximize window mode is the problem.
Perhaps you could experiment with maximize - restore down and see if it helps with your problem.
Probably get a better response if you post questions in Bridge question forum rather than feature forum.

  • Bridge workspace is blank - with files on the side. how can I find my thumbnail/normal view again?

    Hi,
My bridge workscreen view went from the usual view with thumbnails to a view showing all of the folders (under "content"). I'm having trouble retrieving the normal workspace view. Can anyone help?

  • Switching From Windows To Mac: ACR Database, Bridge Cache Questions

I am planning to switch from Windows XP to the Mac running Leopard. I am now running CS2 in Windows, but will upgrade to CS3 on the Mac. I am maintaining my RAW file settings in ACR central database and my Bridge cache in a centralized cache file. I've searched the forums but couldn't find answers to my migration questions:<br /><br />1. Can one move the ACR database file from Windows (in folder C:\Documents<br />and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw) to a folder<br />somewhere on the Mac to preserve the settings on RAW files that are also<br />moved to the Mac? Or does one need to export individual XMP files for the<br />RAW files in Windows and move both the RAW files and their associated XMP<br />files to the Mac?<br /><br />2. I have a similar question for migrating the Bridge cache from Windows XP<br />to the Mac. Can one somehow move the Bridge cache over (I think it's in<br />C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge\Cache\Thumbnails\) or do I need to export the cache for<br />each folder and subfolder and move them over along with the folders and<br />subfolders?<br /><br />I would appreciate any help or pointers to any Adobe documents or<br />directions. Thank you.

    Man-Kong,
Since you said that you were also migrating from CS2 to CS3 I would have said that their cache files were incompatible. That is what I experienced with CS1, CS2, and CS3 in the past. But Thomas indicated it should work. I must be missing something.
The XMP files move fine for me. The local cache (folder) files have completely different names with each version and I see no evidence that they can be shared. This is also a problem with archived CDs. CS3 always has to rebuild cache if they were archived from CS1 or CS2.
Since the central cache must have some folder references, and this structure will be completely different on Mac, I dont see how it can work. It doesnt work for scripts or actions either.
So my humble recommendation is to set your preferences to store cache and XMP files in the local folders where possible. Then simply bite the bullet. Each time you visit a folder for the first time in the new environment, cache will be rebuilt.
    Cheers, Rags :-)

  • Can I copy Bridge workspace preferences to another computer?

I purchased CS6 for another machine.  I've mostly got the workspace in Bridge to look like my other machine's preferred workspace.
What I want to do, and have not found the answer, is to show the "favorites" and "folders" tabs in the left pane, then further down in that same pane, show the "filter, collections and export" tabs.
The new machine shows these tabs near the top, but I don't know how to move those tabs downward.
Here's what I am trying to do:
    Thanks much.
    Al

What I want to do, and have not found the answer, is to show the "favorites" and "folders" tabs in the left pane, then further down in that same pane, show the "filter, collections and export" tabs.
It is a bit tricky but once tried easy enough. place your cursor on the tab of a panel and hold click while dragging. A blue surrounding line appears. Now point to the wished location (between two existing rows in a column or between two columns) until a blue appears. Then let the panel drop. When you drag it next to another tab a blue surrounding line appears meaning you can dock this panel as a tab next to the existing. You have a max of 3 columns, don't know if there is a max to rows but your screen and visibility is the limit.

  • How do I save Bridge workspace settings so that screen opens as I want it?

I use CS3 on Intel iMac.  Recently upgraded to Snow Leopard, but had printer problems and have uninstalled and gone back to Leopard fttb.  Software wiped of course and carelessly I didn't save PS settings.  CS3 now reinstalled.
I use Bridge to scroll through my images and then open in PS.  I know how to save my own customised workspace (Window, Workspace, Save etc) and I make it Workspace 1 in the lower right boxes.  I like the panel maximised without any of my desktop showing (e.g. as when hitting the green button top left) and I like Folders opened up showing in left hand panel, with files showing in vertical film strip on right.  Every time I open up Bridge the panel is smaller than the one I saved so I have to maximise the screen.  Also Favorites opens up, not my Folders so I then have to open up several sub folders to get the right ones.
Before uninstalling then reinstalling Leopard, Bridge appeared the way I wanted but I can't figure out how to do it again i.e. it doesn't come on the way I left it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • Bridge Workspace Settings?

I customized the Essentials view in Bridge to show 15 images at a time, locked the thumbnail grid, and widened out both of the side panels as I have a 22" monitor. I then saved it as a new workspace. However, each time I shutdown my computer, restart it and open up bridge it says its using my new saved workspace but all of the customizations that I made as described above are gone. Am I missing something here? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Now I reread your original email and see I have missed something. My issue isn't exactly the same. I have created MY default workspace with my customizations. Restarted the PC and opening Bridge and my default workspace doesn't open BUT I am able to click in this case, Bob's Space and it all comes back.
What I wanted was the ability to customize my workspace and have Bridge open with that each time. Under these cicumstances and I have to click on Bob's Space each time Bridge opens.

  • Bridge domain questions

    Hi everybody.
At work , I have seen a lot of bridge domains configured on a single switch. My question is what is bridge domain and why we use them. An example with configurations will be great.
Thanks and have a great day.

    Hi Marvin and Rick
Please consider the following config and questions:
    R1#  show platform
    Interrupt Throttling:
      Throttle Count   = 00052552   Timer Count      = 00039372
      Netint usec      = 00000800   Netint Mask usec = 00000240
      Active           =        0   Configured       =        1
      Longest IRQ(usec)= 00003999
    MSFC CPU IDPROM:
    IDPROM image:
      (FRU is 'C7600 MSFC4 Daughterboard')
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    R1#show running-config interface gigabitEthernet 9/7
    service instance 1251 ethernet
      encapsulation dot1q 1251
rewrite ingress tacg pop 1 symmetri
      bridge-domain 440
    service instance 2001 ethernet
      encapsulation dot1q 2001
rewrite ingress tag pop 1 symmetric
      bridge-domain 440
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Let say R1 receives a packet with vlan tag 1251 on g9/7. What will happen next? will R1 update its MAc table with source mac?
1)Will there be a mac table for bridge -domain 440?  Do we have one-to one correspondence between the two i.e each  bridge-domain has its own mac table.?
2)Let say R1 receives a packet with vlan tag 1251 on g9/7. What will happen next? will R1 update its MAc table with source mac?
    3) Let say R1 receives a frame with vlan tag 1251 with destination mac ff:ff:ff:ff
    What will R1 do next?
4)Will R1 forward it to all service instance in bridge-domain 440 except the one R1 receives the broadcast frame?
( in our case we have two service instances under  bridge -domain 440 i.e service instance 1251 ethernet, service instance  2001 ethernet)
    5) Will R1 change the vlan tag 1251 to 2001 when forwarding the broadcast frame out of instance 2001?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks

  • Off Bridge Mode Question

Trying to determine how my Airport Extreme went into off-bridge mode....noticed my A.E. was blinking the amber light...after determining it was not an update alert, I unplugged the box from the socket, and detached all wires from the back of it...replugged, greenlight eventually came back on, but could not get onto the internet....called the 1-800 Apple number....tech determined I was indeed in off-mode, we fixed it, I'm back onto to the internet...forgot to ask her if unplugging the unit was what made it go into off-bridge...don't want to call back....but will if commnity can't answer the question....that is he question...did unplugging the unit, reset it into off bridge mode, or did I manipulate it within the dialogue box, and inadvertantly did something to put into off-bridge? Thanks for any and all hlep

Recycling power to the base station should NOT make any configuration changes. However, performing any of the potential resets can. The default mode of all of the Apple routers is NOT to be in bridge mode.
