Bridging voyager 205 and PPPoE in order to vpn int...

I have a BT voyager 205.
My company gave me a watchguard XTM21 so that I can VPN into their network.
I have bridged the voyager as per http://support.zen.co.uk/kb/Knowledgebase/Voyager-205-Bridging-Mode
On the watchguard, I have set the external interface as PPPoE and given a user name and password.
I have always been aware that the username and password for the PPP where ignored by BT as per this link http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/1/helproom/202818/bt-broadband-router-settings/
so I have just used [email protected] as the username.
The watchguard insists on a password so I just used a dummy password (again see above link as to why I believe that to be correct.)
Bottom line is that I can see an address in the gateway column for the external watchguard interface, but an IP address of 0.0.0.0
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks for any help.

Thank you for your reply and assistance.  I will run a capture and post back.
One other piece I left out:  When in bridge mode if I do: ping google.com -f -l 1464 it works.   Any higher and I get the following from the internal interface of the  ASA.

       hello
does anyone have an answer to help me with my problem ?
i have the RG54GS i will plug it into my adsl voyager 205 . ethernet slot and connect to wan on RG. and share my internet with pc downstairs ,which will recieve via wireless usb 11.b adapter (msi also)
but i cannot access my resi gateway via the ip . i will enter the default into my browser and it will say ,using ie .6 page not found or if i use mozilla firefox unable to access.
i have also tried connect direct thru ethernet on pc into wan on RG and even lan on RG. no joy
i tried all things . i just want to tell it that i am fix ip and set up so i can share internet.
ty in advance for any ideas

yeh all is fine, i can ping everything except this default ip. 192.168.1.254  i get timed outwith i.e  and with firefox get connection refused.
seen the other topics on this , but it says about the dhpc thing start/ctrl panel/network/ ethernet marvel youcon in my case/tc icp. here i get auto or manual adress. my voyager dictates my static. which is above with diff last number.
so do i put same ip in the marvel which my voyager uses . or do i put the default . i tried both to be honest. and all seems fine cept i cant browse just join with games . but my rg wont let me ping it so i cant set it up to send info to my 11b downstairs.

  • If I don't know how to use mini bridge in Photoshop and InDesign.

I tried to use mini bridge from photoshop and inDesign both but unsuccessfully. Displays message "Waiting for Bridge CS5..." and it seems for hours and hours but not working... .
But Adobe Bridge is working perfectly. Does anyone has the same problem?

So, I have the same problem with the mini bridge not loading. I noticed it also wouldn't load at my school on their Mac computers, too. I wondered if it had anything to do with me only having the free trial but the school's computer isn't free trial. I looked at the two solutions you've provided.
    1. When I went to the following...
    Win 64 bit machines: \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SwitchBoard\SwitchBoard.exe
There was no SwitchBoard folder, or SwitchBoard.exe on my computer anywhere... (Windows 8 64 bit)
    2. I then tried to see about your second solution and followed the link... it doesn't support my computer version ><
So I'm not really sure what to do since I need to get this working in order to complete my class assignment.... I am using the free trial at the moment but plan to buy the monthly plan through Adobe Creative Cloud for Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

  • BT Voyager 205 & iChat - How to make it all work! (repost)

First posted by Solidsilver, reposting for reference just in case we loss it.

I have just been going through ** to get iChat working with a BT Voyager 205 modem/router.
In the end I contacted Apple and an extremely helpful iChat Engineer from Apple contacted me. With his patient advice and tutor-ship we succeeded in making it all work perfectly.
And what you have to do is a 2 minute job. This is a direct cut n paste of his email to me less my IP address, you just put in yours. No port forwarding or port triggering nonsense. No static IP rubbish. It's all in the Voyager.
    Here you go:
Open up a web browser and access the 205 control panel at http://192.168.1.1
Select the 'Advanced' option on the left of the screen to open up the advanced configuration page and then click the 'Advanced....' option.
Enter your username and password when prompted, the default username is 'admin' and the default password is also 'admin'.
Select the 'IP Routing' option in the menu on the left and then choose 'NAT Virtual Server/DMZ' from the NAT Options.
Left click on the 'Add' button and then select 'DMZ' from the rule flavour menu.
Enter a number not previously used by another rule into the 'Rule ID' box, '60' should be fine for most people.
In the 'LAN IP Address' enter the IP address of the Mac found in Network Prefs(I guess it is 192.168.1.XX)
Left click on the 'Apply' button and then left click on the red 'Save' button on the left.
You should then get a confirmation window which you can just close.
    All done.
You have now put your Mac in front of the Voyagers Firewall in something called the DMZ or DeMilitarized Zone. If you don't want anymore tinkering, turn your Firewall off in Sharing Prefs and you are good to go.
If you feel insecure you then need to open a few ports in your Mac's Firewall in Sharing prefs.
Click Add and a sheet opens.
In the Port Name select Other
TCP Ports add 5190, 5298 (type them in exactly as I write them here)
UDP Port Numbers add 5060, 5190, 5297, 5298, 5353, 5678, 16384-16403 (type them in exactly as I write them here)
Description add iChat AV to give it a name.
    Click OK
Then turn your Mac Firewall on. What you have just done means that though your Mac is not protected by the Voyagers Firewall, it is protecting itself. However, opening those ports allows iChat to communicate through the Mac's Firewall.
    Now enjoy iChat.

    Hi SolidSilver,
That's a different way of doing things.
He has led you through this
    http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/BT/Voyager205/iChat.htm
but has gone for DMZ rather than the 23 ports that need to be set up. (the pics only show port 5190 and you need more to AV chat)
If you do fancy the tinkering to get the 205 to be a Firewall as well you have to follow the page to set up port 5190 fo both TCP and UDP
Next you need to do the other 22 ports on UDP
They have to be entered one at a time in the 205 so it is time consuming.
    5060
    5678
    16384
    16385
    16386...
    and the others in between
    ....16402
    16403
The above form your post and this will only work if your computer always gets the smae IP address from the 205 each time it is turned on.
If you have any connection problems check the System Preferences > Network for your current IP and see if that is where the 205 is send ing the data and amend as required.

  • AMSN & iSight & BT Voyager 205 - not working

    Hi All,
I am wanting to use aMSN with my isight and using an ADSL router Voyager 205. However for some reasons (common i understand) the router needs the ports changing to allow the isight to work, checked out how to do it, called BT and still no luck, NOT WORKING. Need it to work to talk to my son in Brasil, and he on Windows!!!!! MSN
    Keep getting the message:
    type IP-Restrict-NAT
    Listening - False
YOu are firewalled or behind a router
    Webcam extention is loaded
    Capture extention -QuicktimeTcl is loaded
IM not firewalled so it seems it is the router not finding the isight.
It gives a link to a Q & A with solution but doesnt work with my router for some reason.
    CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE.
[email protected] if you can please or [email protected] on MSN (or aMSN)

  • Airport Extreme best practice configuration for Sleep Proxy, DHCP/NAT and PPPOE

    Hi
I have recently bought a Airport Extreme and it is working well.  One of the reasons I bought is to take advantage of the Bonjour Sleep Proxy on it so I can wake my MAC up remotely from my iPad using the REMOTE app to stream things like iTunes etc...  I followed the set up instructions and basically let it configure itself.  I have an ISP router / modem which currently is providing DHCP services, NAT and PPPOE.
The Airport detected all of this and set itself up as bridge only.  The speed of the network outo to the internet is fine (more or less what it was before).  However, in doing a bit of research, I have found out that if I want the Airport to act as a sleep proxy, I need it to "host" the network.  I am not an expert in networking but from what I understand I need the Airport to be moved from "Bridge Only" to at least be providing DHCP to my internal network clients.
This has prompted me to ask what is "Best practice" when it comes to configuring the Airport given I want to have Sleep Proxy enabled.  I think the two options I have are as follows but would really welcome feedback on which is the best option to go for or if there are other options I should be thinking of
    (1)  Have the Airport perform DHCP for my internal clients and leave the ISP router/modem doing NAT
    (2)  Have the Airport perform DHCP and NAT.  I think to do this I need to turn the ISP router / modem into Bridge mode only.  (I've looked and I seem to have this option on the device.  It's an Irish ISP branded device but I think it is a Zyxel)
I have no reason to believe the ISP router / model is doing a bad job but given I understand the Airport Extreme is a reasonably high-end device (I think?) I am wondering if option 2 is the way to go.
In addition, during my research, I have also discovered that many people seem to have their Airport Extreme also handle PPPOE.  This is currently being done by my ISP router/modem.  I am  inclined to leave it this way (following the mantra if it isn't broken, don't fix it) but if there was a good reason to have the Aiport do this, perhaps I should make the switch?  Having said this, I have seen on this forum and others, some posts about problems with Internet connection drops when the Airport is handling PPPOE.
So, a bit of a long post, but if anyone has any information or perspective on this, I'd very much appreciate it.
    Thanks
    Dave

I forgot to thank you, John Galt. Yap, it solve my problem by restoring back the original firmware to 7.6.1. My unit is Airport Extreme 2012. I am still using double NAT because I cannot figure it out on how to set DHCP only in the Network tab.
My goal it to use the airport extreme to the internet and to share the internet to all my devices in the house. Just like my previous Accesspoints. Before I use AP+router Linksy$ WRT54G and D-l!nk DIR-655 without activating the NAT to share my internet connection and they work.
My problem is that when I set it to DHCP in the internet tab and DHCP in the Network tab in Airport Utility inorder to solve the double NAT situation, only one of all my devices (wired or wireless) can connect to the internet. Each time I connect the other device(s) to the internet my subscriber will verify my subscription (web browser based verification) in which I have to manually enter my account number, etc to validate my subscription.
So I stick to double NAT so that I can share the internet
Our broadband provider uses DHCP to link us to the internet. If I change the settings to Static in the Internet Tab, my broadband provider will not let me connect to the internet. In the Airport Utility if I set to static in the Internet Tab inorder to set it to solve the double NAT, a message box appear informing me that I have invalid beginning IP address in the DCHP range in the Network Tab when it appears that only the last 3 digits of the DHCP range is editable.
Is there any way of configuring the Airport Utility's Internet TAB to DHCP and Network TAB to DHCP to connect to the internet with all my devices without the double NAT and without the aid of another device such as AP or router or switch connected to the Airport or vice versa?

While you can access the OLE objects in C#.NET, the JSObject was designed as a bridge to VB.NET. Since the real power of what you can do with Acrobat automation comes from the JSObject, it would be very difficult to do that you want from C#.NET - or you would at least be limited in what you can do beyond basic functionality.
Also, a full version of Adobe Acrobat Standard or Professional would need to be installed on each client system. Reader will not work for what you want to do. Each end user running your application will require an installation of Acrobat.

  • Nd help configuring JMS Bridges between COM and SOM

We skip the JMS Bridge between SOM and COM because we deploy the O2A cartridge using the:
    - When Central Order Management and Service Order Management Exist in the Same
OSM Instance in a Non-Cluster Environment.
    - Customer and Service Order Management in the Same OSM Instance
"Deploy the following cartridges through Design Studio for the simple fulfillment
    topology"
Now what happening is: the flow of the order taking time before it was completed or need manually submit the task using oms-automation user.
But even with the above work around we cannot see the billing data in BRM.
UpdateSalesOrderSiebelCommsProvABCSImpl (v. 1.0) this is the last BPEL process we see in BPEL.
FulfillBillingFunction.BRM-ALL.BundleGranularity.FulfillBillingSignificantUpdates is the last Activity we can see in osmwebui if not manually update the task.
Then ProvisionOrderSIResponseTask is the current task in osm task web client where order state is In-Progress.
With that it seems the SOM is not processing.
Do you have any idea why we can't complete the order and see the billing data in BRM?
Is'it the COM and SOM not properly configured, or have some issue with other application(RODOD)?
    Thanks,
    Ace

    Hi All,
This issue already resolve by configuring the routing in AIA.

  • Configuring JMS Bridges between COM and SOM

    Hi,
We started working on OSM 7.0.2 and I have a question about the configuration of JMS Bridges between COM and SOM.
When COM and SOM Cartridges are installed in the same OSM instance on non-cluster env., it is mandatory to configure JMS Bridges between COM and SOM?
If it is case, could you please detail the procedure to follow?
In the document called "Application Integration Architecture Order-to-Activate Cartridge Guide Release 7.0.2 E18005-01" it is not obvious to understand. If you have a look in the table 2-1 page 2-15, I don't see all the mandatory field values to create a new destination bridges (for instance, what is the value of destination JNDI name?). Does anyone configure this part in the setting up OSM to the Order-to-Activate Solution?
    Best regards.

The COM-SOM bridge is only required when COM and SOM are deployed on separate osm server instances and AIA Emulators are deployed (on both) for development/demo/quick testing purposes.
In QA/SIT/PRODUCTION environments, OSM should be integrated via AIA, this means that all participant applications ( CRM , OSM-COM, OMS-SOM, BRM ) should be using queue bridges (or SAF in 7.0.3)

Unusual to be getting a DEP in those circumstances. (Still, I haven't been around all that much in recent times. So the world may have changed.)
What seems most likely is that we've got an iTunes preference file gone bad in some way. So I'd try the "Remove iTunes preferences files" section in the "User-specific troubleshooting" section from the following document. (Note you'll have to make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is set on the PC in order to find the pref files.)

Ive just found out my old speedtouch USB330 isnt yet intel mac compatible and need to buy a cheap new one.

    Steve,
Don't worry about it... and a warm welcome to Apple Discussions
Unfortunately, there isn't a way, currently, to remove posts although you do have a 15 minute window to make any modifications.
I suspect the 205 that you received and did not work was either faulty or was not set up properly.
Your recommendation of the 210 is a good one and if they are priced similarly then, as I said, the 210 would be a better investment.

  • AEBS 802.11n and PPPoE AGAIN!!!!

Ok, does apple read any of these posts? I am very irritated that I spent money on the AEBS (mostly for the support of USB disks for backups) and PPPoE is totally broken! I get frequent disconnects, and long down times before it establishes a connection. I just borrowed a Linksys 802.11n router and it works LIKE A CHAMP (no disconnects WHAT SO EVER)!
I am constrained to run my DSL in bridge mode, as we have both a web server and a VPN set up on our home network, so this PPPoE issue is going to have me kicking my AEBS into the trashcan in favor of a Linksys.
Please Apple - get on the ball, how hard could it be?
What is your experience with PPPoE?

"Ok, does apple read any of these posts"
Most likely not, as this is a user to user forum.
