Brief help pls: reusing older MIDI Files Roland Virtual Synthesizers. XPOST

Question

I am new to Logic. So new I don't have it yet.
Searches haven't immediately helped so before I dedicate long, possibly Futile hrs I thought I'd ask a basic 'sanity check' question here.
I'm returning to music after a LONG break.
I have songs in MIDI for Roland CM-64, U20/U220 JV-90 and others. (The 64 is an MT 32 combined with an extra module or two).
It seems likely to me that this must be a problem that many face. I Note references to 'Virtual Instruments' and large libraries of similar in GB, Logic, Pro...
Naturally, I want to re-use the MIDI.
Is the ground covered here with 'Virtual Synthesizers' ? i.e. am I going to find Roland CM-64 Somewhere on a list of 'Virtual Instruments or synths'? OR Is it going to be a painful track by track business AND dealing with the problem of sounds/Fx/Instruments that're substantially different or don't exist and/or are in different places ?
Could someone be kind enough to provide a short clue, perhaps a link or two covering such topics?

The array of VI's (virtual instruments) imn Logic is more than broad enough to cover what you had and more... my personal experience is that some old songs that I have heard too much can spring back into a second life with fresh sounds... if you want to replicate your results and you want it to sound the same, then it may be painful. But you could also enjoy the 'fresh paint' feeling it may give to old songs...

Seems you can hardly wait.... and rightly so... when I first joined a band (1979), similar stuff would have cost hundreds of thousand Euro's/dollars, if not millions... if anyone would have prophesized an application like Logic (or any other present day DAW), people would either have marveled at your vivid imagination, or pitied your hopelessly unrealistic daydreaming...
Well, Eriksimon THIS answer should 'blow you away' grin {Thank you for the fast help BTW...}. Posts of 310 is just 'currently online' - it's more like a few thousand... many topics and fields - computing, development, tech multimedia, Video.. blah blah.. (and I like to help when I can).
For a number of my songs that's helpful. For very special reasons, it really won't help with a couple:: Way back at the dawn of computing, (ca. 1982) I set up the first 'true' Multimedia consulting/service/development/support organisation in Oz (probably one of the 1st in the world(!)). With the incredible Adrian Scott (who Sub'd TO Roland - see the Author of many of the 'in keyboard/synth demos songs', incl. probably your U220/my JV 90 etc. - WE setup the very 1st Fully MIDI/Digital, computer-driven electronic Music studios on the Planet. {I actually 'covered' it for JAMM Magazine, Oz and will post a scan of the article somewhere downloadable if you - or anyone FTM are interested} following/during which you are quite right: people - incl. 'the Pros' DID "....marvel at your vivid imagination, or pitied your hopelessly unrealistic daydreaming....' But, with what WE set up, a solo Muso could produce some truly awesome stuff. {I Did grin}.
A few years later, Roland first started to understand 'Computer-based music' and released the CM-64 and others.
We actually got the job of 'doing the Release shows, presentations and Promos' - i.e. Mac-based Speaker support, rolling Macromedia Director Demos - images and animation backed, of course by Music and Fx as the CM-64 showed off all it could do: every sound, instrument, effect.... I did some but we used a talented Oz Muso named Pete Binskin - and his BRIEF was to really show it off so we have songs with squealing tyres where you'd do a record scratch effect, gunshots, applause, screams, - +used as instruments+... followed by beautiful Rainforest scenes with trickling brooks, thunder.. helos.. etc etc..' - Short version: we have some stuff which is great (Pete was GOOD) but is about as CM-64 specific as it's possible to get grin.
I note there's an MT 32 emu project on (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MT-32#Emulation). Maybe there's something else around for the 64.
Failing that, from your knowledge, is there any way, any program into which I MAY be able to painstakingly play & Load each of the 64 sounds INTO some App/sample player or is there a 'showstopper' I am missing ??
[Again, If interested, I can probably post an audio version of a song or two somewhere for DL purposes if anyone is interested - it was interesting stuff]
