Briefing Book as target for iBot

Hello Gurus,
Is it somehow possible to deliver scheduled report/dashboard content to the briefing book?
iBots by default do not have option to designate BB as a destination.
May be there is some workaround using Actions or scripting?
Thanks in advance

So you got your answer?
If not then delete the user ABC using catalog manager and ask the user to login again as it will create a new folder with default privileges or else click on that user and then set permissions recursively for his ID

  • Interactivity within Briefing Book Reader

I was wondering if you create a briefing book .sbb file which is a snapshot of a dashboard, whether there is an option to be able to drill into some of the graphs on the dashboard to their detail level when viewing in the briefing book reader.
For example, if I have a graph on a dashboard and there is a navigation link on one of the measures to be able to drill into a detail report, how do I set up the briefing book to be able to have the same interactivity as the dashboard it came from. Or is the best practice to keep adding pages to the briefing book and view them one at a time without any user interactivity.
    Thanks.

Briefing book primarily consists of static reports. So you need to add all the pages to the briefing book. But if you want the same amount of interactivity you can use disconnected analytics. I have blogged about it today here http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/11/23/oracle-bi-ee-101332-working-with-disconnected-analytics-sadis-utility/ if you quickly want to test how it works.

  • Cache Seeding using Briefing Books in iBots

    Hi All,
I'm trying to seed the cache using Briefing books in iBots.
    1. Created the Briefing book of a Dashboard page with required dashboard prompt values
    2. Selected this 'Briefing Book' as Delivery Content
    3. Scheduled the iBot
But, despite of iBot running successfully, Cache is not being seeded.
    Am i missing any steps?
Moreover, in 'Destinations', if i just check 'Interactive Dashboards' & 'Active Delivery Profile',
    No cache entries created
But if i check 'e-mail' or any of the devices,
then a cache entry is generated for the default dashboard prompt values* but not for the prompt values selected for the Briefing Book*..
    Please help
    Thank you,
    Raghu

    Hello Madan,
    Thank you for the reply..
"Oracle BI Server Cache" can only be used for the answer pages/dashboard pages with default prompt values..
Any other way to get the Cache seeded for other prompt values too..
    other than the manual seeding
    Thank you,
    Raghu

  • Problem with Briefing Books and iBots

I have a question about the usage of Briefing Books and iBots:
In my Briefing Book there are different analysis, some with tables and others with charts and graphs.
The problem is, when I send this Briefing Book to my email by iBot, then the file attached to the email does not contain the charts anymore. There are just the tables left. When I watch the same Briefing Book directly in Answers, everything is displayed all right.
Does anyone know, why this happens.

    Hi there
If the page is not actually inside of a Book, the WebHelp generation process will sense that.
If you want a Book, try right-clicking the page in the TOC editor and choose "Create Book from Page". This should create a book with the page inside it. Of course both will have the same name, so you may need to rename the Book. Or rename the page. Your choice.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How to change Default number of rows displayed in a Briefing Book

    Hi,
We have a requirement to deliver a dashboard containing 7 dashboard pages to the business users.
To achieve this, I have created a briefing book by adding all the required dahboard pages and scheduled an agent to deliver the briefing book in PDF format. However, the briefing book delivered by the agent shows only 25 rows for all the analysis (reports) included in the dashboard pages.
I have already made the following settings:
    1. At the report level, edited the table view property to show 150 Rows Per page.
    2. At the dashboard page level, edited the PDF and Print properties to Print All Rows.
    3. Edited the instanceconfig.xml file to include the following tag under <Table> tag: <DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>15000</DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>
Please advise if there is any setting which can help in increasing the default number of rows in a Briefing Book (OBIEE 11.1.1.3).
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sumit

    Hi,
This is a bug in 11.1.1.3
Bug 12671370 - BRIEFING BOOKS DO NOT SHOW ALL ROWS
As a workaround, you may want to click on the "Display Maximum(500) rows per page" button on the dashboard page before you download to Briefing books. This will work for reports with less than 500 rows.

  • Automatic generation of PDF file from briefing book in OBIEE11g

    Hi all,
Could anyone tell me if exist a way to generate PDF files from briefing books automatically in OBIEE11g?
    Thanks
    Annalisa

I only got so far when I tried to do this in Windows. The problem comes when you try to tell the printer to print to a file with a particular name.
The first steps are to get GhostWriter for Windows.
Then you install the Apple LaserWriter pro 600 driver which can print to a postscript file (try it manually first). GhostWriter can then, with a command line command, using a java Process, convert that to a .pdf file.

  • How to create a briefing book in Shared Folders

    Hello,
Firstly, can the subject of this thread be achieved?
I am able to create a briefing book (within My Briefing Books) and use delivers to deliver it to myself. However, I receive the access denied error message when trying to send the same BB to a user.
I have created a folder within the shared folder area and copied my BB to the folder. I have added this user to the presentation server administrators group and tried using delivers to deliver the BB from the shared folder, but alas it deosnt work which suggests the BB in essence doesnt exist in the shared folder.
Anyway, can anyone let me know if it can be done, if so, how is it done?
    Many thanks,
    Rhys

  • Displaying images in Briefing Book

    Hi,
We are using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition v10.1.3.4.
In OBIEE Answers, we have two reports and one dashboard page that hold these two reports. It is to be noted that the measure columns in both the reports have some images based upon the criteria specified in "Conditional Formatting" for the measure columns.
With the above setup in place, here is the problem scenario:
When we create a Briefing Book and individually add the two reports to it, all works fine. The display generated by "Get Now" and "Print Now" buttons in the briefing book is OK.
However, if we create a Briefing Book and add the dashboard that contains the two reports (and not the reports themselves), then the display that is generated using the "Get Now" and "Print Now" buttons does not show the images in the measure columns - instead it shows a red X mark in place of the images.
If we add either of the report to this briefing book now, the red X marks are replaced by the corresponding images for that report.
In essence, we are not being able to display the images in the measure columns if we add the dashboard page (containg the reports) to the briefing book rather than adding the reports themselves.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Piyush

a few points that i can check
If you can see it in RRP3 then you should also be able to see the sales orders in the Standard SAP planing book based on 9ASNP94 planning area. can you see this?
if so .. your planning area is not set right
check if you have intialized the planning area and if your planning book has the required KF setup properly and similar to what you have set up in the Standard book
Also check if your MPOS that is attached to the new planning area is set up correctly
another point to check is if your selection id is properly selected when you load on to the planning area

  • Printing briefing book from reader as a PDF

    Hi all,
In 10g, is there a way when viewing a briefing book through the briefing book reader, to print as a PDF? Similar in concept to when you're in Answers, open a briefing book, and clicking on the 'Print Now' button.
    Thanks.

    Thanks, Nico.
I tried that route already. The user would have to print each page one by one. There's 15-20 pages. If all pages can't be saved at once, the user will have to go to Answers to open the briefing book and click the 'Print Now' button. Then they have all pages in one document via one click of a button. Originally, the user didn't want to be bothered with remembering to go into Answers (they don't use Answers much and this metric package is run once a month) so I was going to do this with ibots and send the briefing book reader via email.
    Thanks again.

  • Add to briefing book in report links

    Hi all,
I have given Print,Refresh, and Add to briefing books for a report. While running dashboard print and refresh links only displayed.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Its based on the users role permission.please give Access to Briefing Books via
    http://IPaddress:9704/analytics/saw.dll?PrivilegeAdmin
Click on administration--->Manage Privileges -->Access--->Access to Briefing Books --->select conumer role name or required roles here if its is setted already please make sure
Go to edit dashboard -->Tools(next to preview icon)-->Click on dashboard properties--->
Edit -->Dashboard Report Links -->Set report links -->Briefing Books then its will apply entire dashboard. then save it and test it with weblogic user first and confirm it and then try with some other user.
Note:must save your briefing book content into sahred folder and give access to all required users and roles.
    Thanks

  • Briefing Books SSM 10.1 SP03 HF1

    Hi Experts!
I've just noticed that in SSM 10.1 SP03 HF1 it is neccesary to assign users/context roles a new role including actions: SSM_Viewbriefingbooks and SSM_Createbriefingbook in order to see the Briefing Book tab on SSM frontend. I mention this because I haven't seen any SAP notes regarding this, dislike the need to assign new actions to create and visualize reportes and dashboards.
Hope info is useful to somebody!

    Jazmin,
I have had a support case on this and the latest information has been for SP03 that checking/unchecking the Published box can help give this a kick as can going to the page via another client! SP03 HF1 is supposed to resolve this though we have not yet had a chance to test this yet.
To get the status icons to reappear first double check the box is still checked in the Properties section and then run the Scheduler again.
Finding out about the new features that appear in the Service Packs is another thing I have raised in the Ideas Place 'List new features somewhere' D11527. All votes help to raise the profile of these things!
    Regards
    Colin
