Bright dots appear on screen

I have bright (white) dots that have appeared on my screen. They are always there. Any help?

hughjass1731 is right, they are stuck pixels. Any color, such as red, green white are usually stuck pixels, but a black one is a dead pixel.
If your iPod is fairly new ask Apple about it or better still call into an Apple store. More and more people are demanding a zero tolerance (because of the better display technology) especially with dead pixels and can get replacements. There is no harm in asking.
You could try massaging it in a circular Motion with a clean dampish cloth, this spreads it out and eventually may disappear. Or tap it gently.
Some have tried a video downloaded into their ipod which plays a series of contrasting colors so the correction of dead pixels can be catalyzed.
This worked for two iPods I owned that had 4 stuck pixels that were red and blue.
The download is here
After downloading pop it into iTunes and sync your ipod to itunes.
You will need to play it over and over for at least 20 minutes or so.

  • Bright dot on the screen

Got a brand new iPhone 4S. There was a bright dot on the screen that could be noticed from the moment I turned it on. The third day, however, the dot disapperared.
Is that normal for new phones, or should I exchange it??

If the problem is resolved, there is no problem. Do not worry about anymore. If the problem returns then you can take care of it then.

    or hardware problem? thx

Reset iPad and continue with Restore.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

If FaceTime ever worked properly for you, restarting your modem (and separate router/wireless if you have such) may help.  If the problem continues, try connecting at a different location to see if the problem is within your wi-fi.
The black dot problem may mean you need to reset your iPod.  If that does not help, it may need service by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

  • The brightness symbol appears on the desktop when the screen is locked on a periodic basis

The brightness symbol appears on the desktop when the screen is locked on a periodic basis

No, the Bluetooth symbol is different. Here is a simple trick that solves many minor glitches...
You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
This is equivalent to restarting your computer. No data is lost. Keep it in your bag of tricks for when these things come up.

  • One red dot appearing in right side of screen in Xperia z

I am using Xperia Z, a Very small red dot appearing in right side of screen that displays only in black background
    Please help..

What thommo meant is it's ( stuck pixel) a pixel that fails to show any other colour than what it's showing you ( red here )
A dead pixel is dead and it doesn't show any colour.
Upto 4 stuck / dead pixels are considered normal but above that it is considered as hardware defect.
In that case you could claim for warranty and have the device repaired or replaced free of cost.

  • Bright light appearing while unlocking.

Bright light appearing on top left or right portion of the screen while unlocking as shown in the picture.
Any idea on why this happening?
    Thanks in Advance..

    Hey there Vishesh Narang,
It sounds like you are getting a flash of light in the upper left corner of your screen when you unlock the phone using Touch ID. I would start by quitting all the open apps first:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If it persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes with this article:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
And restore it from your backup with this article to delete the current iOS installation, and install a fresh copy
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,

  • There's a soft white dot on the screen of my new MacBook Pro Retnia

There's a soft white dot on the screen of my new MacBook Pro Retnia That is visible especially when the background is light. It isn't a sharp dot but rather a soft blurred looking dot. Does anybody else have something like this or does anyone know what it is? I'm thinking its s dead pixel but it doesn't look like one that i've seen on other lcd displays.
I set my desktop background to a 50% grey and that's how I found it. Now that I did, i can't stop looking at it. I tried to take a pic of it its in the center of the photo. Its not easy to see on the photo but, its very easy to see on the display. Oh and its not dirt or something on the surface. Not sure if i should go to the genius bar on it. I am worried that it may get worse. Any input is appreciated.

I also had this problem, same make and model and specifications as you have. Brought it into Apple and also called them about. They stated they have not heard of this yet although I find that hard to believe with the # of cases on this being reported. Must have been a bad lot or batch of Retina MBP's that were made and this got by quality control. But they were okay with giving me a new one on the spot.
As you said, doesn't show on darks but on whites; oh boy it sure does and it is annoying on photo editing and documents where white is all you see; about 1.5mm x 1mm big and bright like a little star. Very hard to detect at first unless you have the white background up as wallpaper.
I sent my MBP back for a replacement and told them I did not want a repair on a computer that was less than 3 weeks old. Stuff happens and no one is perfect so long as Apple and their resellers stand by and make amends by issuing new MBP's. I did not buy mine via Apple direct this time, but rather used a authorized Apple reseller and fortunately they agreed to issue a new one. Keeping fingers crossed.

  • Speaker image appears on screen and blinks

When I turn on my IPad, either the brightness symbol appears or the speaker symbol appears and blinks continuously. In order to remove it, I have to power down the Ipad. If I turn the screen off and then on again, the speaker symbol reappears and blinks. It is unresponsive to the speaker control buttons.

    Hey slps01,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities, and thanks for the question. I'd give the steps in the following article a shot and see if that resolves the issue on your iPad:

  • I have iphone 6 and there is bright dot

I have iPhone 6 and there is a bright tiny dot under the WiFi signal. It only shows up when the screen is a light color. When it is a darker color it does not show through.

    Hello TTKA,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you have a bright dot on your iPhone 6 display, it may be related to the device software or hardware.
I'd recommend trying these steps first:
If you see lines, missing sections, discoloration, or poor image quality
Try to restart your device. If you can't restart, reset your device.
If restarting or resetting doesn’t fix the issue, restore your device.
You can find these steps and more information here:
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you restore your device and the dot is visible in the same place on your display, even when the iPhone is rotated, the following article recommends having your device evaulated by an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider:
About LCD display pixel anomalies for Apple products released in 2010 and later - Apple Support
If you are concerned about pixel anomalies on your display, take your Apple product to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for closer examination. There may be a charge for the evaluation.
    Sincerely,
    Jeremy

I open iWeb but the main window doesn't open/appear on screen. The little windows like the inspector and font windows appear. Can anyone help?

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • HT1533 Ok so I have tried evey combination of restarts. It tries to boot up, the start up bar appears on screen, but the computer just goes completely after the bar is a third of the way across. Is is doomed?

Ok so I have tried evey combination of restarts. It tries to boot up, the start up bar appears on screen, but the computer just goes completely after the bar is a third of the way across. Is is doomed?

Have you tried booting into the Recovery HD and running Disk Utility to see if anything needs fixing on the HD. Restart holding down Command+r and once it hopefully boots select Disk Utility>Repair Disk. If anything gets fixed click on repair disk again until you get a clean pass. Try restarting as normal from the Apple menu once done.
Do you have backup to restore from if it proves to be the Mac has a hardware fault?

I believe your only option will be to get Apple to replace the screen for you, which won't be cheap.  If the machine is still covered under warranty, you could try to push the case that the screen must be defective for a bug to get in there.  Apple has been known to do free out-of-warranty service in some pretty unbelievable circumstances, that that is at their discretion, so be very pleasant and polite so they'll like you and want to help you out.    But be prepared to have to pay for the repair.
    Good luck!

  • My Macbook Pro *****! I have had it for 2 weeks now, got it brand new at the apple store, it freezes all the time, and reboots itself, sometimes when i start it, purple dots cover the screen and i have to hold the power button.

I have had it for 2 weeks now, got it brand new at the apple store, it freezes all the time, and reboots itself, sometimes when i start it, purple dots cover the screen and i have to hold the power button. a 2 week old computer is not supposed to do this! it wastes all its time being so flashy that it just craps out all the time. sometimes i feel like i should have stayed with my virus covered PC. at least when it shut down randomly you could turn it back on, but with the macbook pro, it just keeps restarting itself over and over. need help with this, any answers?

Here's a novel thought. Take it back to the vendor. Should have done that one week ago.
