Bright spots on my iPod

Hi i was cleaning my IPod (with some water) and everything turned blue. I did the rice trick and it worked. But I see some bright spots on the screen. Does apples warranty cover that? Is there anything I can do?

If you purchased the optional APpleCare+ extended warranty the Apple will exchange it for $29. Otherwise
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • "Bright Spot" in the middle of the display.

    Hello...
A few months ago, my iBook's screen appears to have developed a "bright spot" closer to the middle of the screen. This bright spot appears to be a vertical line that vaguely resembles an exclamation mark. It's definitely not a group of dead or stuck pixels, but it's looks a lot like the "white spots" that some early 15" Aluminum Powerbooks had, maybe not as intense: http://www.apple.com/support/powerbook/displayprogram/
I might want to ask for a screen replacement. But my problem here is: I bought this iBook when it came out last summer in Canada. Right now, I’m not in Canada, and I asked the local Apple Service Center about the warranty. They said that they don’t cover any Mac that wasn’t bought from the region they belong to. This contradicts Apple’s international warranty for its portables.
My question here is: Is my iBook’s screen eligible for replacement in the first place? If it is, how am I supposed to deal with the local Apple Service Center?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Voidness,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
I don't know if it will be covered by Apple's One (1) Year Limited Warranty. It says,
"Apple or its Apple Authorized Service Providers will provide warranty service on products that are tendered or presented for service during the Warranty Period, as permitted by law. If the product is portable, meaning that it can operate independently without a power cord, you may obtain warranty service worldwide. However, service will be limited to the options available in the country where service is requested."
You may want to call Apple and see what an Apple representative says.

  • Bright Spot on Macbook Pro Retina Display

Anyone else have a bright spot on their retina display?  MIne has a defect that looks like a bright or bleached area 1x3mm.  It is not dead pixel(s).  The spot is about 13cm from the right and 6mm from the bottom.
This and big issues with it running a Thunderbolt display is leading me to return them both.

If people coming here for a bright spot on a MBPR screen, maybe you should see this thread which is going on too. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4042189?tstart=0
My opinion: replace the whole machine not just a screen! use your 14-day return policy, do a full refund and order another one if it's necessary. Repair the LCD or replace it with the new one it might be good if it happens after a year or even two years but not for one-month year old machine! They should s.uck it up and replace the whole thing and do the d.a.m.n QA better next time.
    Thanks and good luck

  • LCD display problem- bright spot

    Hi,
I just bought my idea u310 online. By opening laptop for the first time, I noticed the screen frame is detached. the frame was not fixed in its own place. it was separated from lcd. I pushed corners so that it can get fit in the right place. it seemed to be all right but after some hours working, I noticed a brighter spot at bottom of lcd display (bottom at task bar- more near to right side). I am very upset I afraid if the spot becomes more and more bigger ... its annoying . what this kind of problem is ? what is the solution ?
    Thank you

I would say return it to get a full refund or a replacement because it sounds like it got damaged during shippment.

I noticed the bright spots on the ipad retina display in a black image. Used only 2 weeks.is it normal?

No its not normal. I'm not sure how big these bright spots are, but it could be a hardware problem. Without more details, I would suggest that you take it to an Apple Store or take it back to wherever you bought it and let the, evaluate the iPad.

  • Lumia 1520 bright spot on screen

    Lumia 1520 Screen error.
Do anyone of you have the same "bright spot" issue approximately 3 cm from the top and 3 cm from the left on the screen. The brigt spot is especially visible on a blank white background.
It does not have any practical meaning, but it is a quality issue!

  • Bright Spot on Macbook Display

My Macbook is just over 3 months old and has developed a bright spot in the display - where the pixilation color is a faded and does not show full color, creating a white spot when viewing certain colors.
Has anyone ran into this problem before?
Should I call Apple with the problem?
    And everyone's favorite question,
Will this be covered by the warranty?

It should be covered and you should call Apple or go by a store for help.

  • Apple logo bright spot on macbook pro display.

Recently I found a bright spot just behinde the apple logo on my macbook pro mc 723 (early 2011) display...it seems that the light of the logo passes through the display...what can I do for it?! It is so bothering especially when working on a white or bright gray screen...

Yes it it because there is a bright light behind the lid, in the room/area you are in, and it is shining through the white Logo onto the screen. Place something over the logo or turn off the light you have on behind the lid.
    EDIT:
There is No light in the Logo. It is lit by the lights in the the screen. If you dim the screen the logo will also dim. It is because there is a bright light, floor or desk lamp, behind the screen. Turn it off.

  • Bright spots around edges of 27" iMac... Normal?

If I bring up a dark black background or load up a movie in Plex, on the edges I can telll that the area is brighter than the rest of the screen. The best way to describe it is kind of like a slightly brighter flood light filling the specific areas. Can someone check their 27" and see if it is doing the same thing?
http://i45.tinypic.com/358wcg2.jpg Taken while running Windows with a black background.
Above will give you clear idea of what I mean. You can test it by turning down the lights, and loading up something dark, when you look straight at the monitor you will notice more light coming out from around some edges of the monitor.

I'll have to test this when I get home, but it might be becouse of the LED backlit.
Samsungs LED TV's also has bright spots.
Do you notice them while working on your iMac?

  • Bright Spot on Screen

I have a MacBook Pro 15 in with the LED backlight and there seems to be a small LED that is much brighter than all the others. The light is right on the edge of the screen and used to not bother me much, but now it is really starting to annoy me. Has this happened to any body else and if so is it covered under the warranty?

This has happened to me. The good news is that they will replace your entire screen. The bad news is that you have to deal with repair. I have not had good luck. In fact, I'm on my third time trying to get a good screen. The one I sent back was perfect except for the bright spot. The second screen was horribly yellow, and the third is not evenly lit at all. They will replace it, but I do hope you get a good screen on the return model.

  • Bright spot on Lenovo G580(2689) screen

I have Lenovo G580(2689). It was bought about 8 months ago. recently i found that there is a small  bright spot at the lower righy part of the screen. What could be the reason and  How to get rid of that? I have 4 months warranty due. Plz help me.

    hi firozmkhatri,
Usually, bright spots on the LCD screen may have caused by a hard object pressing at the back part of the LCD screen (same thing when you press and hold on the lcd panel using your fingertip) or an object in between the LCD and keyboard when the lid is closed.
In some rare cases, it may have caused by a bright light concentrating on lcd panel (this could happen if you leave the unit open in front of a window where sunlight is concentrated) or it could also be that the screws are too tight on the LCD assembly that's causing the backlight to bleed.
Although you can still use the computer normally, the bright spot may increase overtime. I recommend you contact lenovo to report the issue and how to go about fixing the bright spots.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bright Spot On New 3g

Just unboxed my new 3g ipad and immediately noticed a dime sized bright spot on the screen, located on right hand side in the middle if you are holding with home button at bottom. It seems to be more noticeable on lighter colors especially white. Tried out a few apps and it shows up on all of them. Turned up brightness to max in settings and didn’t help. Anyone else get this?

Why are there always issues with the LCDs Apple uses? Guess I'm going back to the store!
"Always"? I've owned one iBook and three MacBooks and two iPhones. None have and any LCD issue.
Having said that, likely my soon-to-arrive iPad will have some such issue

  • Bright Spot on Display....

I have a pavilion dv6 7040tx notebook which is covered under normal warranty. Recently I noticed there is a white bright spot on my display. when I contacted HP Support, they said that it will not be covered under warranty since there is only less than 6 patches/spots... This is not right, and HP Support sucks... Is there any other way to claim my warranty???
Please help.. I don''t have any money to afford a new display....

  • Bright spot, LCD pixels OK

    Hi all,
My MacBook pro showed suddenly a very bright spot on the screen (just above the text 'van den'):
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/57660179@N04/5307076958/
No LCD pixels are broken. Too me this looks like a LED driver problem: One LED is powered at 100%. I think this should never happen, even on the most brightest screen mode. At the back of the screen, the Apple logo is a little 'bubbled' right on this bright spot. This could prove the problem of an overheated LED, right?
According to the Service Center this is 'user damage'. Today it has been send back to let them prove it is actually user damage.

Thanks for helping troubleshooting! The 'speedometer' scenario is interesting but not likely the cause (famous last words). The next thing happened: I turned off the computer (the screen was still OK), closed it and put it in the cupboard. 15 minutes later my girlfriend took the laptop, opened it, started it up and the strange spot was there. Closing or opening could have caused the magnet to come loose.
With the 'bubbly' Apple logo I meant there's a little 'hill' in it exactly at the location of the strange bright spot (upper left of the white Apple logo). I do not know how thick that white plastic logo is, but I guess something has to press very hard to deform it. Maybe it is just a coincident and is it due to some inaccuracy in the plastic.
When the service center is not willing to fix it, I will try the paperclip and sleep test, good ideas! Maybe that will convince them.
btw, is this irreversible damage? Maybe the screen is OK when the pressure is gone? If so, I will try to fix it when the service center still refuses to repair it under warranty. It saves me a 500euro bill ...
Anyway, I will keep you informed about this story.
Thanks & best wishes for 2011.
