Bright white spot in ipad 3

I am seeing a bright white spot on my ipad3 screen, it is very much visible in white pages, but not so much in black.
Looks like a hardware problem.
I purchased my ipad3 on day it was launched, and using it for almost 6 months now. Is it still covered in warranty? I am out of the country, so not sure where to take it for inspection.
Thanks.

It's not easy because , I'm from Russia =(
I see that this problem have many people.
I had the same problem in my Macbook pro.

  • IPad 1 has bright white spot

I have an annoying problem with my original ipad 1.
It has a bright white spot (more visible on white pages) about a cm above the round button on the screen
And a red dead pixel on the right side.
It is now obviously out of warrenty but would an Apple Genius Bar worker replace my device for free?
(below is an image but the picture didnt take very clearly at all, the white patch is very bright)

Apple provides out of warranty service, but obviously for a fee. See the following link http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipad
You can change the country option from the dropdown located near the top to see prices in your country.

  • Bright white spots on the screen?

Hey guys, my iPhone has developed these two bright white spots on the screen. I don't think it's a hardware problem because they are not there for every application. But I have tried restarting it, completely resetting it, etc with no success. The problem is I bought in July 2007 so my warranty is up. Am I screwed?

You can also look at LCD replacement from outside repair companies like iResQ.com. If you're not sure what's going on with the spots, you can also get a diagnosis within 24 hours from them before you decide to repair or resell. Replacement can be had for $130, back to you the day after receiving your order. Also, their techs are Apple-certified. Check it out if you're still having problems:

  • My ipod touch screen has gone white with bright white spots, I have restored it but it is still white.  It shows in ITunes but I cant do anything with it.  Can anyone help please

My Ipod touch screen has gone white with bright white spots on it.  I have restored it and it shows in ITunes but the screen is still white.  Is there anything I can do? The warranty has run out so I will have to pay for any repairs (if it can be repaired).  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

If you still have problems after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod then you very likely have a hardware problem.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Bright white dots on iPhone 4s screen

3 months ago, I bought the Apple iPhone 4s via Three UK. It was a brand new contract phone.
About a week ago, the phone developed a bright white spot in the middle of the screen, white is very noticeable.I had not dropped the phone at all. Then, a few days ago, another bigger but not as bright dot appeared on the screen. What is this and how can it be fixed? I believe the iPhone is in its warranty, but I'm not sure what the problem is. I have also noticed that the phone is freezing lots, and is randomly re booting. Yesterday, the phone was not making any calls in full bar areas.
    Thanks in advance,

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not help, set it up as new device, explained here:
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If still no luck, get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or contact Apple Support to get it serviced:

    Ardha,
Welcome to the forum.  White spots on the LCD, typically a bright white spot most clearly seen against a white background like the forum, or google home page, is caused by pressure damage - pressure applied to back of the LCD panel.
Since you indicated that you have only had the system 1 day, unless you are aware of something that happened while in your care, I can only guess that the damage was done during transport or manufacturing.  I would recommend you contact your point of purchase and ask to exchange the unit.  I would also try to power up and inspect the new system immediately to make sure all is well.
Please also see my PM - I would like you to take a pic of the spot and email to me if possible.  While random things happen, I'd like us to take a look at this.
    Best regards,
    Mark

So I am currently facing the same issue on my brand new iPhone 6. When I unboxed it and was setting it up I noticed a fairly big white spot near the upper edge of the screen. The size actually reduced down to pixel width by the next day. So this might happen in your case in another days time (maybe). If it does its the exact same issue!
Currently my phone is at the service center and they're having a look ... Suggest you should get it checked as well

  • Macbook pro retina display white spot(LCD Mura)

i have a macbook pro retina mid 2012 and i was traveling for 9 months and i had this problem for a while that my screen has a 2 bright white spots on the lower left quadrant of the screen it is an LG display and i researched online and people seem to be calling it an LCD mura. My macbook is out of warranty but i was wondering whether apple will replace the screen or not since it is a very common problem

    Hello!
I bought mine in July 2012 and hadn't noticed any white spots until around December. I though maybe it was some problem with Firefox since I could only see it when surfing on internet but then one day I changed the background and realized that it was visible, as you say, on a light background. There I didn't see it on Lr od Ps.
I called yesterday to Apple (they don't have shops here in Oslo where I am located now) and tehy told me to go to the Authorized Service Provider.
I went this morning and they will change the screen for free as it is less than 1-year old. But recommended me to pay for the Apple Care... mmmhh...
I asked if he had seen these spots on more rMBP and he confirmed it. He had seen more although he couldn't tell me if it was a weakness of the Retina-screens..
    Would be nice to know..
Do I have to start saving for the new replacement-screens to come?!
...until further notice I'll be 2 weeks without my beloved rMBP and my Adobe friends...

  • White spot in upper left hand corner appears when changing apps since iOS7

When I upgraded to iOS7 on my iPhone 4S a bright white spot started to appear in the upper left corner when I change apps. It is random when I happens. I was hoping it would stop when I moved to the 5s, but it is still happening. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks!

diesel: Please read the experience others had before advising. The person above even changed his phone. THe only thing that fixed it for him for was not migrating his apps, while the solution is not that extreme, it is related to the app icons you have.
This is an issue with the apple zoom feature when you open apps. Depending on which app icon is where on the screen makes a difference. Reseting, rebooting, updating are no help if the icons are still in the same place.
To reproduce on any iphone 5/5s with ios 7 place the google maps app in the second row and second column of the first page. Open the yelp app, not from the multi-tasking screen, but search for it in the search bar and open it. you'll see a disc on the top right corner. Also, when you close the app by pressing the home button, you'll see it again.

I would like to inquire about how I could have my iPad 2 repaired or replaced. I bought it With a credit card via apple store website last June 19 of this year. At first, I already noticed a little white spot in the middle of the screen visible when the display on screen is dark. I thought this was okay. Now, My problem with it is that, it now has green discolorations at the center whenever the screen display is black or dark I.e. When a website's color is black or dark or whenever I go to the search interface.
    I am from the Philippines.
Please attend to this inquiry as promptly as possible. I'm sorry I have to send it here since I cannot see any email or inquiry page on the apple website. I also cannot reach the toll free number on my mobile phone.
    Thank you very much.

  • White spot + screen leakage in ipad 2

    Hi ,
I have these problems in my ipad 2 white spot + screen leakage , I bought it from US but my location now is in Saudi Arabia so what are the solustions for these ptoblems ? is there any center service that can help me to replacment ?
    regrads

    Hi there,
This is a tricky one, especially if you live nowhere near an Apple store or repair specialist. I assume you understand the recent issues with screen leakage, and that it may clear up quickly, although not in all cases.
I have done some research on the topic, and think that your best bet is to phone Apple Care, maybe even the US number (1-800-275-2273 (make sure you add the international codes)). I have found a site which outlines the nearest Service Providers, but it makes no mention of Saudi Arabia. It may help nonetheless. I have posted it below.
    Find your nearest Service Provider
    Hope this helps,

  • Appeared white spot on the screen of ipad mini. What can i do?

A white spot was appeared on my ipad mini screen? Please help

It's under warranty for one year from the day you bought it.
It was released on Nov. 2, 2012. If you bought it that day, you are 8 days out of warranty. If you bought it after Nov.10, 2012, you are under warranty (as of today.  Apple should have the sale date if you give them your serial number. If you have the receipt, use that.
Either way, you should check with Apple and they should give you a new one (original) as a replacement. If you're near a store, make an appointment as soon as possible with the genius bar and bring it in.
Please do it as soon as possible.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why are there small faint white spots on my iPad 2 display?

Mostly visible when i have a mostly white screen (like on safari) there are small white spots at different spots on the screen. They are very small, just the right size and amount to annoy me everytime I use my iPad. I bought it on release date (March 25)  in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I did not purchase any extended warranty. It was purchased at BestBuy. Will they replace my iPad? Is there a way to fix it myself? HELP!
    Thank you
Ps, its just a 16gb black wifi (no 3G) iPad 2

There is probably a protective cover on it that got some air under it.
This (check with apple store first you may want to buy a new protective cover) cover should be able to be lifted off, clean the surface glass of the ipad with a lint free cloth, dont touch to much of the sticky side of the protective peice. Once the glass is cleaned put the protective cover back on from one side using a credit card to get air bubbles out as you lay it down.
Pay attention to the location its in now so you can put it back in the same spot. New protective covers are cheap so getting a new one may be a good option for you.
If no protective cover, dampen a lint free cloth with warm water and wipe it off, then dry with a lint free cloth.
****** just damp...not dripping wet or even close to that

  • White spot on the screen Ipad 4th gen

Hello. On Christmas get the new iPad, till today 7/1/13 ipad was in original silicon packing that it came in, today get apple case and bought zagg shield, right before installing get off original packing cleaning the dust saw a white spot, firstly thought i was a scratch but then ran spotter app and realized that on some colours I can see it. Now im looking only on that spot and its annoy me.

The iPad is built as a solid unit and as such they would need to replace the whole unit (not just the glass). Engraving is only available through the Apple online store and as such, the replacement would not be engraved.
I have heard of AppleCare phone support being able to organise engraved replacements in rare circumstances but the wait times are around 4 weeks.
