Brightmail 6 and IMS 5.2

I have iMS 5.2 Batch 2 installed on solaris 9, I am testing the Brightmail Anti Spam ver 6.01 with the same
My option.dat file has the following
Brightmail_Library=/opt/symantec/sbas/Scanner/lib/libbmiclient.so.1
Brightmail_config_file=/opt/symantec/sbas/Scanner/etc/bmiconfig.xml
My imat.cnf file has the following for testing
! ims-ms
ims-ms defragment subdirs 20 notices 1 7 14 21 28 backoff "pt5m" "pt10m" "pt30m"
"pt1h" "pt2h" "pt4h" maxjobs 1 pool IMS_POOL fileinto $U+$S@$D destinationbrigh

! tcp_local
tcp_local smtp mx single_sys remotehost inner switchchannel identnonelimited sub
dirs 20 maxjobs 7 pool SMTP_POOL maytlsserver maysaslserver saslswitchchannel tc
p_auth sourcebrightmailoptin spam
tcp-daemon
When I try to send to myself
I got the following error message in the imta log file
14-Dec-2004 13:14:57.18 tcp_intranet J 0 [email protected] rfc822
; [email protected] 452 4.7.1 Cannot load Brightmail bmiEndHeaders: [email protected]
Can you help me to solve this

Please check the permissions of the permissions of the both files and directories they are located in. They should be world readable so that the IMS user can read and load them... Please have a look at the following:
/opt/symantec/sbas/Scanner
drwxr-xr-x mailwall bmi lib
/opt/symantec/sbas/Scanner/lib
-r-xr-xr-x mailwall bmi libbmiclient.so.1
/opt/symantec/sbas/Scanner/etc
-rw-rw-r-- mailwall bmi bmiconfig.xml
Also checkout the permissions to the log files directory as IMS user will be writing to it....
/var/log
drwxrwxrwx mailwall bmi brightmail
/var/log/brightmail
-rw------- mailsrv mail bmclient_log
Lastly,
You can only apply "destinationbrightmailoptin spam" to ims-ms channel which will take care of internal & external spam.
I hope this will help...

    Is there a way to cancel Report inappropriate content and IMs?
    For example, I went Report inappropriate content, then reported the issue. After reporting the issue, I realized that the post was recenly mergered into an existing thread.
    In case that happens again, I  (and I am sure other user's) would like to cancel the "Report inappropriate content".
    Thanks.

  • Perl-script  Net::SMTP and iMS. How To? :(

    How to configure iMS to send mail with Perl-script using Net::SMTP module?
    Script and iMS must run in different hosts.

    Thats more a topic for perl and smtp than it is for IMS. Anyway, you could do:
    unshift @{$Mail::Sendmail::mailcfg{'smtp'}} , 'mailserver.host.com';
    %mail = (
              To => '[email protected]',
    From => '[email protected]',
    Message => 'this is my message!,
              Subject => 'Test Subject',
    sendmail(%mail) or die "Mail Not Sent!";

    Hello
    To stop the calls to your Skype Number from strangers go to: Tools>Options> Privacy Settings>Allow calls to my Skype Number from phone numbers in my Contact list only>SAVE
    Then please contact Skype customer service explain the problem and ask for a replacement number.

  • What do ICI and IMS stand for?

    On MSI's FTP site there seem to be two kinds of BIOS's, some with IMS in the name, others with ICI in the name.
    The IMS's seem to be the ones that are publicly available via their website.
    The ICI's are typically the ones that are suggested to try if your board shows bad DPC latency results.
    Now I'm curious, what do IMS and ACI stand for? And what's the difference between these BIOS's?

    /sbin => When it comes to binaries, this directory is where statically linked binaries live - Generally
    Just run file against most of the commands you see in that directory.
    /bin => This is where the binaries that users and the rest of the system normally use. When it comes to binaries, these are usually but not always dynamically linked type binaries.

  • Trend Micro and iMS

    For those guys who are using trend to scan iMS, here are some tips:
    1. Ensure that imss folder and everything below it has r-x perms to others.
    2. change the trend_Vscan from scanscripts by adding -ppatternfilepath
    Best of luck

  • Crash and .ims Files

    Since I updated to Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 the project keeps creating a media a "Media Cache Files" folder on my computer's hard drive and filling it with .ims files until my hard drive is full. This happens even though I have told the project to put the media cache files on an external drive. The project also creates a Media Cache Files folder on the external drive and fills that folder with .pek and .cfa files. Anybody know how to prevent the project from creating this folder on my computer's hard drive?
    [Please choose only a short description for the thread title.]

    Hi Jeff,
    Pardon the long post, and maybe I should direct this at Kevin, but I pick you. We've been scratching our heads over this for a year.
    Trying to get a handle on our cache file set-up. Where best to put them, when to generate, etc. We have multiple rooms working with the same media, maybe picking up a project from another editor. Different configurations but all rooms have robust Mac Pros, PPro 2014, multiple fiber connections, internal hard drives, lots of RAM (48g).
    I assume that its better to put cache files on a secondary drive if possible; would you agree?
    For a very large file it seems to bog PPro down. I.e. you can't play the clip while its particular cache file is generating. We load entire ballgames, movies, hour long interviews, etc. Is this as expected?
    A new user on the same project still seems to have to generate cache files; do you know if these files should be associated with the media, the project, or the user? We do not put the cache files next to the original media; that becomes a nightmare in the finder.
    I did a test just now and the .ims files were created for everything I dragged in (ProRes, mxf, avi, mp4, aif, wav, psd, png, tif).
    The second part of this test was to clean the database using PPro preferences. Before the clean I had 26,000 ims files in my common folder (tiny, yes, but a lot of files) and 7,000 files in my cache files folder on my internal hard drive (1TB SATA). After the clean I appear to still have exactly the same number of files on each. Just to be clear, the media prefs are pointing to the same cache folder. I can delete manually, and try to do that about every two weeks. The problem there being that I'm working on an hour long show with seven cameras, clips, graphics, music, etc. and I don't want to have to re-generate the big files often. My work around has been to delete all cache files, then launch the project when I'm leaving for the night so they re-generate during down time.
    Again, pardon the long winded post. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • MMP on Win2k and iMS on Solaris 9?

    Is it possible to install MMP on Win2k and the corresponding iMS on Solaris 9?

    Hi Tyme,
    I would guess that your second system is producing CDs with an ISO-9660 level 2 file system, which supports long file names, and which Solaris can read. The first is probably making CDs with an ISO-9660 level 1 file system.
    Cheers,
    Chuck

  • Human Task email notification and IMS

    Hi Chaps,
    I have a requirement to enable the email notification functionality embedded in Human Tasks. This email functionality presumably emails everyone for that role based on their email information located in Enterprise Manager -> Security -> my relam (?), however when I log into Business Process WorkSpace and try to edit the email address - it states that "Do not use this channel for BPEL User Notification or Human Workflow; it is not stored in the identify management system and will not work"
    Does this mean that I have to directly alter the LDAP Directory (somehow?) or will logging into Enterprise Manager and changing it manually suffice?
    Any help you could provide would be most welcome!
    Thanks..

    To know the more details on email notification using human tasks, follow the below link
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_hwfmodel.htm#BABICIAH
    Also, if you are trying to send emails without using LDAP, then simply configure the email driver in */em and assign the roles to whom you want to send the email to.

  • Eudora 5.0 clients and iMS 5.2

    Eudora 5.x clients can't seem to use their local trash folder when configured for IMAP, although they can use the online trash fine. Are there any known bugs for this on the iMS side?

    I fail to see why you consider this a bug in iMS. I fail to see a bug anywhere.
    Eudora has simply decided that when configured to use IMAP that all folders will be on the server, including the trash. Makes sense to me.

  • Using an Antispam and antivirus with ims as a relay

    Hi Jay,
    I've setup an IMS 5.2 sp1 on my DMZ to relay mail to my inside IMS 5.2 sp1 and I'd like to send all incoming and outgoing email for scan with a virus scanner on a different box, I did the following:
    1- setup and IMS as a relay
    2- I activate direct ldap on the relay so I able to ldapsearch for users from the relay (on DMZ)
    3- I followed the document http://ims.balius.com/downloads/AlternateConversion.pdf
    should I add the keyword daemon fqdn.mailhost to get the mail relayed or not, because I'm not able to receive email with the setup I have.
    Thanks

    I can't claim to be a qualified architect, BUT
    consider the path of each possible piece of mail, and how it's going to route.
    Mail arriving at relay from outside. Comes in tcp_local. Goes out tcp_intranet. Gets smarthosted to virus scanner. Now, if scanner sends it back, you have a loop. Bad. Ok, use alternate conversion channel. Mail comes in. Routes to scanner and back. Gets relayed to store. Good. Assume this for next piece of mail.
    Mail coming from internal user. goes to store first. Gets routed to mailstore, and never leaves the box. No virus scan. Bad.
    Ok, different scenario.
    Mail from relay. goes to store box. Store box configured with alternate conversion channel. Mail sent to virus scanner, returned to store, and delivred to user. Good.
    Mail from user. comes into store box. Using alternate conversion channel, sent to virus scanner and returned to store, to be delivered to store, or sent out to relay for external delivery. Also good.
    Simple, and straightforward. No mess.

  • Unwanted IMs and Contact requests

    Hello,
    I'm receiving contact requests and IMs from strangers.
    I've double checked all my privacy settings and they are all set to "receive from contacts only".
    Where else can I go?  Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Same here.. .apparently skyp doenst give a flip about it...
    Ive asked this question 20 times (usually under other names per it was actually per clients..
    This is the first ever under my own id.
    I regularly have to deny 'requests' twice a week and at times more.
    I currently have hundreds of requests blocked..   Im getting tired of it...
    Unfortunatley skype is the only way I have to contact certain friends who are using skype as a workaround per them not being able to afford regular phone use, but have nearly unlimited internet options.
    But this particular issue, as soon as skype gets competition, if not already... Im gone.
    I had hoped skype workalikes would do it, but they mainly are skype passthrus.
    I relize I can make myself invisible and that likely solves the problem.
    BUt I need those who are my contacts to see that I am in fact online.
    So while invisible might do... its not realistic....to me thats a fake workaround.
    Contacts should be able to see you if they are contacts...period, even if invisible

  • Brightmail problems

    I have currently installed Brightmail 5.5 to run with my iPlanet 5.2 Messaging server on Solaris 8. I have followed the directions as specified at: http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6829-10/index.html
    I have added the following to option.dat:
    Brightmail_Library=/u01/brightmail/lib/libbmiclient.so.1
    Brightmail_config_file=/u01/brightmail/etc/brightmail.cfg
    LDAP_SPARE_2=mailAntiUBEService
    My first question is do i have the proper client library file of libbmiclient.so.1??? There isnt a libbmiclient.so.
    I also added the following entry in the tcp_local mail channel in imta.cnf:
    sourcebrightmailoptin spam
    However when restarting the imsimta via cnbuild and refresh, I get the following error:
    Unknown group identifier sourcebrightmail s found on channel tcp_local
    Unknown group identifier spam found on channel tcp_local
    Unknown group identifier sourcebrightmail s found on channel tcp_local
    Unknown group identifier spam found on channel tcp_local
    When I try to send through test spam per the brightmail test directions, it gets through no problem. I would greatly appreciate any insight as to what I am missing. Thanks,
    Pete

  • Various problems when trying to use both my iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 at the same time? HELP!

    I am experiencing a wide range of problems with both of my iPhones. They are both a 4 and a 5. I will list the problems I am having.
    Using both phones:
    A few weeks ago I recieved a new phone, the iPhone 5 as my contract was renewed. I backed-up my old phone, the iPhone 4 to my computer and restored it onto my 5. But when using my 5, I discovered it has 'no service' (but will use wifi), it won't send IMs OR texts and Apple constantly keeps asking me for my Apple ID which i recently changed but still uses the old email, and won't accept any passwords.
    The 5 used to send IMs and texts but they would be sent to my friends through my email address, so I googled this and went to messages>send and recieve, and the only thing i can select is my email, not my number. I am using the 4 as well, purely so I can send texts and IMs through my name, not my email. The 4 also has signal and wifi, whereas the 5 only has wifi. I am wondering if the 5 has no signal and won't send IMs & texts because I am still using another phone? Surely they both cannot work together, so I was thinking I could reset my iPhone 4, and then see if the iPhone 5 will work, once the second phone isn't used anymore. If that doesn't work, I thought I could reset my 4, back-up my 5 and then restore again. I think that will work, but I have no idea.
    I have absolutely had it with trying to figure it out, I have used google but nothing seems to work. I am really hoping someone can tell me what to do with all my phone problems, because they are absolutely driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I need to use the 5, it is costing me an extra £60 a month to use and I feel as though that money is being wasted as I can't text, IM or call people. Should i just get rid of the 4 and see what happens? I read online that to stop iMessages coming through as your email, you should turn it off and use regular texts. BUT I DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS. I send way too many texts, and it would cost a fortune. I also can't send photo messages on texts, because they cost a bomb to send through. I want to be able to use both texts and iMessages - using my name, not my email.
    To add on to that huge essay I have written, on both phones Apple CONSTANTLY asks me for my Apple ID which I recently changed. I changed the email and the password, and it is coming up with the wrong email, and whatever password I put in, it still says it is wrong. It doesn't make sense, because yesterday I purchased some music from iTunes and when asked for my Apple ID, it used the right email and accepted the correct password. ...??? yet it still keeps getting it wrong, even though it worked in iTunes. ??!?
    Okay so I just reset my iPhone 4, and nothing seems to have changed...I thought if I reset it, it would be completely wiped, like a brand new iPhone 4, but it's not....THIS IS SO IRRITATING! Can someone please help me! I GREATLY appreciate any answers, hopefully someone on the internet can fix my problem! thank you for taking the time to read this essay, I am very thankful. PS. Both phones are up to date.

    You said, "the 4 also has signal and wifi whereas the 5 has only wifi". By "signal", I'm assuing that you mean cellular signal. If so, that means your iPhone 4 is still active on your cellular number and your iPhone 5 is not. Contact your carrier to sort out which phone is active on your account.
