Brightness buttons not working in Windows 10

Hi I have an HP 255 G3 Notebook running Windows 10 64-bit. The brightness buttons (f2 and f3) are not working for brightness adjustments. Nothing happens when the buttons are pressed. The othe buttons are working fine (for example volume adjustment f7 and f8). Any ideas on how I can make the buttons work? Kind regards Joey

I have an AMD lap top and AMD'S latest graphics driver disables the brightness keys for some reason so i went to device manager (windows button + X ------> Display Adapter-------> click on grapics card------> driver tab------> update driver)after i did that windows searched for driver and updated and right after that the brightness keys worked! Quick Launch buttons not working on Window 8.1

I have installed window 8.1 but quick launch buttons, which used to work with combination of FN key, for example fn+F3 key for brightness, fn+F8 for volume, fn+F6 key to lock the computer etc are not working. What is the solution?

I have available a pretty extensive list and I cannot find a Quick Launch Driver for Windows 8.1. Might be one; I don't see it.
I use a completely different arrangement of Custom Toolbars from what most people use so I am not at all sure what constitutes a Quick Launch.

Brightness Control not working after Windows 8 install...

Hi All,
I have a late year 2010 MBA core2duo with 4GB of ram, and I was running Windows 7 for a long time and recently bought a Windows 8 upgrade key. I heard the boot camp drivers were updated so I decided to load it up. I installed the new boot camp drivers on the Windows 7 side before the upgrade (had to use the command line to do the driver upgrade).
Windows 8 is all installed and the only issue I have is the brightness control doesnt work at all. I disabled the adaptive brightness as a lot of threads have been saying. Anybody have any ideas what I need to do to fix this?? It seems to be stuck on BRIGHT.

I have been having the issue of no brighness control when running windows through bootcamp for about 6 months now and have not found any applicable solution online.
While messing around trying to figure it out yet again I noticed that my monitor driver was signed by team viewer...
Sure enough clicking the roll driver back button resolved the issue by rolling the driver back to the Microsoft driver...
So long story short:
Right click "My Computer" click properties
Click device manager (lop left of window)
Expand Monitors section
Double Click monitor
Click driver tab
If the driver here is not signed by Microsot or Apple click the roll back button. My driver version is 6.1.7600.16385 (Driver date 6/21/2006)
Rolling this back instantly resolved my issue. I will now propagate this post to all the threads I saw regarding this issue.
I am running windows 7 x64 Ulti on a 15" rMBP.

ITunes shortcuts buttons not working in Windows 7

The 3 buttons (previous song, pause and next song) that appear on the little window of the iTunes (when you put the mouse over the iTunes symbol) on the Windows 7 aren't working. I reinstalled the iTunes but still not working. Could anybody help me?

Keyboard Brightness Buttons Not Working

I have a macbookpro. I noticed recently that the keyboard brightness buttons (up and down) were not working. When I push either one of them the brightness image comes up with a small circle with a line through it (as in like no smoking)? I can change the brightness setting in System Preferences / Display. Any ideas why this situation would occur and how to change it so that I can use the keyboard controls? It is inconvenient not to be able to adjust the brightness from the keyboard. Use your left thumb to cover the iSight camera lens in the top of your display bezel. This will also cover the ambient light sensor that is 5mm to the left of the camera. With the sensor covered, can you adjust the brightness of your keyboard using the F5 and F6 keys? If so, the problem is simply that the ambient light level in your room is higher than the threshold at which the keyboard backlighting is turned off automatically. Your MBP thinks you don't need the backlighting on.
You can override the automatic backlighting control by using Lab Tick.

Brightness control not working in Windows 8 x64 after sleep with Boot Camp 5.0.2

Hi,
I am using Boot Camp 5.0.2 with Windows 8 x64.
Wheen the computer has been in sleep mode, and wakes up again, the brightness control won't work as expected.
Usually the screen is to dark (darker than before, what it should be), and after some time pops up brighter as it should be.
Has onyone else seen this issue?
I mean, it seems that for brightness we use the internal control GUI of Windows 8, and not the Apple one that is used in Windows 7 and in Windows 8 for the sound control.

Website payment and shopping cart buttons not working on Windows Phone browser

A customer shopping on our site notified me that the "add to cart" and "view cart" buttons were taking him to the PayPal main site and not the shopping cart. I tried a Windows Phone at the Verizon store and found the same issue. I have tested the site on multiple Windows desktop browsers, on Android, Linux and iPad and have never seen this issue. What is going on with IE on Windows Phone?

I had this problem too, but I found a post burried on the web that said to add " p06- " (without quotes) before the imap and smpt server names and that worked:

Everything stays checked, SSL for both, authentication and use same username and password checked.

SL510 volume buttons not working on windows 8 64

I have updated my SL510(2847-7LG) to Windows 8 64Bit.
- HotKeyFeatures 3.84.2000
- Human Interface Device Access Service is running
Sadly if I press the mute Button nothing happened.
the volume Buttons working well.
So I found the following behavior:
If I press the Mute Button and then one of the volume Buttons(increase/decrease) the System will be Muted.
But the Mute Button itself doesn't work.
I tryed reinstall the Hotkeyfeatures several times but the Problem persists.
Would be great if someone could help me fixing this Issue.

I have the same issue with SL500 ..Although link readme says the driver is meant for win 8 64 bit, it fails to install. "This program does not support this system" - it is what I get when running the setup.

Lenovo Z500 touch brightness adjustment not working after Windows 10 update

Hi, i recently updated to Windows 10 and immediately noticed that the brightness of my laptop could not be adjusted. i had a similar problem when updating to Windows 8.1 but managed to solve it by downloading video drivers from the following link: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds031547 I tried the same method to solve my current problem but it only works temporarily, as the next time i turn my laptop on, i have the same problem. Is anyone experiencing the same problem and has anyone found a permanent fix, because it's getting quite annoying. Thank you.

The intel HD graphics bundled with windows 10 seems to be buggy and in beta for now. so i guess we just have to wait for intel/microsoft to make a final release

if anyone else has had this problem before.
Its the first time it has ever happend, or anythign
has ever gone wrong with my mac!
The brightness (resolution?) button (looks like the sun)
wont go off.. its stuck on the higest brightness, and i cant bring it down
its also stuck on my screen and wont disapeer.
I tried fixing the button but that didnt do anything.
Restarting my computer doesnt help either.

Brightness buttons not working and glitchy with simple commands

I bought a macbook pro 6 months ago. The computer is in mint condition, but has been glitchy, especially with signing in or the simple command of putting in a login password. In order to login you must shut down the computer because the screen is frozen after a logout previously. On top of that the brightness keys show they work but the brightness doesn't change. This computer has no scratches, never been dropeed, has barely been used, and should be working perfectly. Any ideas?

You have a 1 year warranty, I would take it in and have them deal with it (you paid for it), they might find something that will really bite you further down the road. USE your warranty, they are usually quite good at customer support.
