Bring Back New Films This Week.

Recently the catagory New This Week has been removed from the Films section of On Demand.
Please put it back.
The whole browsing system is slow, unresponsive and bloated. This section was the only decent way to find new content... Why would it be removed?

BT you need to bring this option back I noticed it had vanished aswell!. Do you realy expect us to navigate through every single categorie list each week just to find the new ones?? seriously!.
If its a legal thing using the word "New" then just change it to "Recently added" or something. Also remove 'The Thing' from free movies because its actually a paid movie and misleading to anyone browsing the FREE movie section.
I also noticed in the free movie section that they added a lot of box office/premium content links which feels like your trying to make us goto that section and "accidentally" pay for premium movies without realising it. If I wanted to view box office movies I would have gone to the box office section!.
What is going on????

I think there are new (recycled) films today .... Six of the seven advertised (new this week) Warner films are available on my black box new look system. The one missing movie is Innerspace.

I uploaded the new software this week to my ipad2 and now my google does not go into landscape mode when I put the ipad on my keyboard

To be honest, I can't tell you specifically why Google won't work in landscape mode - but I have some good suggestions.
1. Delete your Google App, and redownload it - and make sure you've chosen the version for iPad. This fixes the problem for most users.
2. Use an alternate app, like Safari (which has loads more features) or Chrome, both for iPad. And the search results are exactly alike.

TS3274 My daughters ipad has stopped downloading new apps, we tried to download some new ones this week and they are just showing as "waiting", we deleted all her games to see if it was a memory issue but they are still showing as waiting.

We have tried to download some new free games for my daughter this week, there are three which are just showing as "waiting" and not downloading at all and its been almost a week.
I deleted all her previous games thinking it might somehow free them up but it has not helped.
please help i am getting nagged!

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

I bought a new iMac this week but am struggling with the WiFi as it intermittently drops. I have an HP notebook in the same room without any problems. It keeps on "looking for networks" it then connects and drops and starts again.

I am connected to the internet but it keeps on dropping all the time, same with my email accounts. Other hardware is running well without any issues. I have gone through the Wi_Fi faultfinding tree but still the same. I have also spoken to a Apple sales consultant in the store that suggested the software be reloaded which could be the case but I doubt. Any ideas?????

FCP4 is not supported as it is a Power PC app, but if you install FCS3 from the install discs, FCS3 (FCP7) should work.
Migrating the pro apps is not recommend as a best practice, but it is done.
60 GB of free space on your system drive is not a good idea, having about 20% free is usually about as little as recommended.
FCP-X uses a completely new editing paradigm, some like it, some don't. There is nothing similar about the way one edits with FCP-X and editing in Final Cut Pro, and your legacy projects that were created in Final Cut are not directly useable in FCP-X. There are third party apps that are available that will convert FCP legacy projects into FCP-X useable files, but there are limitations.

Premiere is much more similar to editing in FCP 7 and earlier than FCP-X is. You can even switch the keyboard short cuts in Premiere to the same shortcuts used in FCP.

Re Download FCP X to new mac next week?

Just wondering if FCP X app is linked to your iTunes account. So if I buy a new Mac this week can I re download it at no cost as long as it is on my itunes account?

I believe the Mac App store allows you to download your copy to as many as you like as long as you don't use it on more than one at once (thats a pro-app restriction I think)

My firefox was crashing without opening the other day, now everytime i bring it up it freezes anything i have open that needs the internet to work (even games downloaded to my laptop). All this was caused after downloading the new updates last week.

Is there a way to bring back the "Open a New Tab" option via right-clicking on the Tab?

I just upgraded to latest version of Firefox (6.0). Yesterday it informed me that an upgrade to Firefox 5.(something) was available and asked if I wanted to upgrade. I went for it. However, I hadn't used it since then till today. Now when I opened it today it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to version 6.0. Without hesitation, I went for it too.
While this version looks nice, it feels a bit odd to use it. Previously whenever I wanted to open a new Tab, I right-clicked on any of the Tabs (active tab or any other Tab) and after right-clicking, it had the option to '''''Open a New Tab''''' along with few other options. Now there's no such option. There's the + button to open a new tab, but what if I want to open a link in a new tab by right-clicking on it? Similarly the option to Open in New Window is also missing.
Is there a way to bring back those previous Tab options/settings? If yes, how?
P.S. In my bookmark toolbar, when I click on a bookmark icon, it has the same options/settings as it previously had in the last version I used (last version I used was 3.something; while I'd upgraded to version 5.something I hadn't used it except for opening the browser when it asked me to upgrade to version 6.0). Options on right clicking the bookmark icon are:

New Bookmark...
New Folder...
New Separator

No. The Tab bar is a regular toolbar in current Firefox versions, so you get the normal right-click context menu of a toolbar if you right-click the tab bar.
You can double click on empty space on the tab bar to open a new tab if you do not want to use the new tab button. 
You can drag a link on that new tab button to open that link in a new tab. 
You can also drag the new tab button on another toolbar if you would like that better. 
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

VZW - Bring back global data plans or this will be my last trip with a VZW phone in my pocket

(Background -I travel from the US to NZ&AU 3 times per year 2-3 weeks at a time for business. After my last trip I raved about VZW's data service in AU and was looking forward to having it available again. I even purchased a Droid 2 Global for my upcoming trip because I knew i could rely on the service. Called VZW today to make arrangements..)

At this data rate your product is no longer a reliable business tool - it is at best a novelty. Even though I have a capable device in my pocket, I will have to search out wifi hotspots throughout my trip b/c your service is cost prohibitive. This change makes a clear statement that you do not want to be taken seriously as a global service provider, and is disrespectful to those of us who signed contracts with you based on the availability of your international data plan.
As my trip is just 1 day away, I do not have time to find a new provider before i leave. This, however, will be my last trip abroad with a Verizon phone in my pocket if the unlimited data plan is not brought back. Early termination fee? Doesn't look so bad when you consider that it costs more to download 15MB than it does to terminate my contract.
If anyone at Verizon actually reads this board, please take this thread as a notice from myself and those who post below that you will be losing us as customers if this situation is not rectified.

Background: I've posted a few replies to this topic on Droidforums.net (Under Droid 2 Global). Just found out about this plan being canceled this week while preparing for a 1 month trip to Japan - figured I would just call to reinstate the plan only to be told it no longer exists. I am a new VZW customer as of this past November and had used the unlimited data plan on a trip passing through S. Korea and 2 weeks in the Philippines in December - Droid 2 Global worked flawlessly for data once Global Support was able assist with the correct settings.
I am extremely disappointed and feel I was misled when entering into a 2 year contract. From what I have read it sounds like plans were in the works to cancel the plan with a notice being sent to existing customers last November or something. Nice that I was told the truth as it was the primary reason I switched from AT&T. By rights the salesman had an obligation to tell me "you know, this plan is being eliminated as of January xx so if you want to keep it you need to keep it active".
Regarding the 4G LTE service, yes the CS agent I spoke with the other night mentioned this as well but either way I am hosed into getting a new device at that point so give me one good reason to stay with VZW. At this point as I mention below I am perfectly willing to cut my losses and go back to Brother Orange or other. In all honesty what I have found in the past 3 months of nationwide travel is that the call quality is muddy at best compared to my old RazorV3 on Orange and seems to be better on NON-VZW networks.
Fool me once, shame on you... Fool me twice shame on me. This is going to hurt VZW more than it hurts me.

Perhaps not so much a petition but more of an "open letter", potentially post it on VZW's own forum as well.
I talked with CS last night for a while regarding another issue and also brought this up. The agent provided me with the following contacts and suggested I write a letter:

If anyone else wants to take a crack be my guest, I just think that with minimal effort Verizon might take notice.
Key points as follows:
1.) $20/Mb for Global Data (Verizon doesn't seem to "get" the idea that "Global" is bigger than just North America, Canada, Mexico and Europe) is not just inconvenient it is outrageously overpriced rendering the phones useless:
Again, using my last months usage as a reference and I don't believe I am a heavy user - email, some browsing, Weatherbug, Nav. etc: 250Mb at $20/Mb = $5,000
Do they seriously think anyone can afford that? All they have done is to hurt their own bottom line.
I'd be really curious to know how many subscribers to the $64.99 Global plan they had or in other words how much revenue they lost.
I'd be happy with a compromise but to eliminate it completely?
2.) According to Global Support, Data has to be either on or off, no way to selectively leave on POP email which is really the only thing I have a need for and simply turn off everything else. Even if you use an App killer how do you really prove there is no data transferring unless you specifically tell the device.
Might be time to root if I could be sure it would eliminate unwanted data transfer.
3.) The availability of this plan vs. other carriers was the only reason I switched from AT&T last November. No mention was ever made of this plan going away. Misleading sales tactics IMHO.
4.) Canceling my contract (family plan at ~ $190/month) that is only 3 months old at this point would sting a little bit for me in terms of 2 lines @ $320 each for early termination.
But, from Verizon's perspective that would be 21 months of lost revenue or ~$4000.
So if 10 people were to send letters/ 10 signatures, we're are talking about potentially $40,000 or more.
100 people now we are starting to get into serious money.
Any way you look at this, Verizon has only succeeded in hurting their own bottom line: Potential canceled contracts, customers spending the money elsewhere such as Japan's Softbank or NTT Docomo in my case, potential new customers lost due to publicity of this, etc.

If I have everything backed up to iCloud and restore my iPhone from a backup made on iTunes last week, can I get back everything I saved on iCloud this week?

I have just started using iCloud as I have always backed up everything on my iPhone to iTunes on my computer. So now I have everything backed up to my iCloud account as well. What I'm trying to ask is: Let's say I made a back up on iTunes on my computer last week. Then this week something happened to my phone and it starts to act weird or not work as well and I want to restore my phone to last week's back up. But let's say I have new things (texts, calendar, contacts, notes) added to my iPhone this week. If I just simply restore it to last week's backup, I'll obviously lose everything I did this week. However if today I save everything (my texts, contacts, calendar, and notes) on my iCloud, then restore to last week's backup, can I get everything I saved today on iCloud back? (Meaning everything I did this week)

iCloud should overwrite your phone with the data stored in your account, preserving your newer data. However, to be sure I would go to Settings>iCloud and turn data syncing to Off before restoring the backup. Then, after restoring the backup, turn the data syncing back to on, and when prompted about Merging with iCloud, choose Don't Merge. This will ensure that the data in your iCloud account overwrites the data on your phone (which is your goal).
Also, you don't sync text messages with iCloud so you will end up losing your more recent messages when they are overwritten by the backup.
